Vereen totals 72 yards on 9 touches in return 11-18-2013
Shane Vereen RB NYG
Shane Vereen rushed for seven yards on one carry and caught eight passes for 65 yards in New England's Week 11, 24-20 loss to Carolina on Monday night. Making his first appearance since Week 1 due to wrist surgery, Vereen wasn't "eased back in" in the slightest bit. He played close to 50 percent of the snaps and led the team in catches and yards. Vereen saw a whopping 11 targets in the passing game and did a ton of damage on third downs. He was whipping SLB Thomas Davis all night long. Vereen did have a noticeable drop on a final-drive second-and-10 where he roasted Luke Kuechly on a wheel route. Vereen is going to be a fixture on offense over the final six games and will be a legit weekly flex option, seeing 8-12 touches per game. Fire him up next week against Denver.
Cam tosses 3 TDs; Panthers top Pats on MNF 11-18-2013
Cam Newton QB CAR
Cam Newton completed 19-of-28 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns in Carolina's 24-20, Week 11 win over the Patriots on Monday night. The Panthers are for real. This was the game of the year. Newton added 62 yards rushing on seven scrambles, with a few of them being ridiculous shows of athleticism. One stood out in particular. On a third-and-seven, Cam felt the pocket collapsing, retreated 19 yards behind the line of scrimmage, made three defenders miss, and scampered 14 yards for a first down. Finally, on the Panthers' final game-winning touchdown drive, Newton picked up first downs with his legs on a third-and-six before getting another new set of downs on a designed third-and-two run. Passing-wise, Cam missed his typical handful of throws in the short game by overshooting a few receivers. But overall, he showed up big time in the nation's spotlight. Cam's second touchdown strike, a 15-yarder to Greg Olsen on third-and-4 on a corner route, was a bullet where only his tight end could catch it. Newton's other scores went to Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn. Newton and the 7-3 Panthers travel to Miami next.
Aqib Talib re-injures hip on MNF vs. Panthers 11-18-2013
Aqib Talib CB DEN
Patriots CB Aqib Talib re-injured his hip in the fourth quarter of Monday night's game against the Panthers and is questionable to return. Talib was playing in his first game since Week 6 due to a balky hip. The Patriots are playing Kyle Arrington, Logan Ryan, and Devin McCourty at corner.
Patriots lose TE Hoomanawanui to knee injury 11-18-2013
Michael Hoomanawanui TE NO
Patriots TE Michael Hoomanawanui was forced from Monday night's game against the Panthers with a knee injury and will not return. The Patriots' blocking tight end will be replaced by Matthew Mulligan.
Panthers LE Johnson injures right knee on MNF 11-18-2013
Charles Johnson DE CAR
Panthers LE Charles Johnson exited Monday night's Week 11 game against the Patriots with a right knee injury. Johnson beat RT Marcus Cannon early in the third quarter. Instead of letting Johnson get to Tom Brady, Cannon leg-whipped Johnson and hit him in the side of the right knee. Johnson's leg appeared to be planted in the ground at the time Cannon's leg hit him, forcing his knee to be jolted. Johnson couldn't put any weight on his leg as he headed to the sideline. He was later carted away.
Steve Smith injures chest, probable to return 11-18-2013
Steve Smith WR BAL
Steve Smith was forced from Monday night's game against the Patriots near the end of the second quarter with a chest injury but is probable to return. Smith likely headed to the locker room early to get his "injury" checked out ahead of halftime. Expect to see him return for the start of the third quarter. Smith and Aqib Talib have been involved in a heated battle, one that Smiff is winning. He has two catches for 47 yards and has baited Talib into a couple of penalties.
Quizz Rodgers (ankle) limited Monday 11-18-2013
Jacquizz Rodgers RB TB
Jacquizz Rodgers (ankle) was limited in Monday's practice. We didn't notice Rodgers suffer any injuries on Sunday, but he did sit and watch Antone Smith and the backup offense for much of the fourth quarter with the Falcons getting blown out. Rodgers should be fine, but he could lose reps to Smith.
No practice for Tony Gonzalez (toe) Monday 11-18-2013
Tony Gonzalez TE ATL
Tony Gonzalez (toe) did not practice Monday. The Falcons and Saints square off on Thursday night. Gonzalez played through the toe injury Sunday, and we'd expect him to do the same this week.
Sproles (ankle) limited in Monday's practice 11-18-2013
Darren Sproles RB PHI
Darren Sproles (ankle, knee) was limited in Monday's practice. Sproles tweaked his ankle Sunday against the 49ers and appeared to be a bit limited by it the rest of the game. The Saints didn't actually practice Monday. They play the Falcons on Thursday night and were forced to release a practice report. Sproles will likely play, but check back Wednesday or Thursday.
Jimmy Graham limited on Monday 11-18-2013
Jimmy Graham TE SEA
Jimmy Graham (foot, elbow) was limited in Monday's practice. The Saints play the Falcons this upcoming Thursday night. They didn't practice Monday but were forced to release an injury report anyway. Graham is in zero danger of missing Week 12. He's locked in as a top-two tight end.
Panthers declare Week 11 inactives for MNF 11-18-2013
Kenjon Barner RB PHI
Panthers declared RB Kenjon Barner, CB Drayton Florence, LB Chase Blackburn, WR Tavarres King, WR Marvin McNutt, TE Ben Hartsock, G Chris Scott, and DE Frank Alexander inactive for Week 11 against the Patriots.
Brandon Bolden headlines MNF inactives 11-18-2013
Brandon Bolden RB NE
Brandon Bolden is a healthy inactive for Monday night's Week 11 game against the Panthers. Bolden wasn't on the injury report this week, for what seems to be the first time all season. But with Shane Vereen back in the mix as the passing-down back, Bolden's role has evaporated and he'll be in sweatpants on the sideline. Also inactive for the Patriots are G Chris Barker, LB Steve Beauharnais, DE Jake Bequette, S Steve Gregory, CB Alfonzo Dennard, and RB Leon Washington. Dennard has a knee injury. Kenbrell Thompkins and Josh Boyce are both active.
Aqib Talib (hip) active for MNF vs. Carolina 11-18-2013
Aqib Talib CB DEN
Patriots CB Aqib Talib (hip) is active for Monday night's Week 11 game against the Panthers. Talib was listed as questionable on the injury report. He's been on the shelf since injuring his hip in Week 6 against the Saints. Look for him to follow Steve Smith around, making Smith more of a WR3 this week.
Vereen, Talib active, Bolden inactive for MNF 11-18-2013
Shane Vereen RB NYG
Shane Vereen (wrist) and Aqib Talib (hip) are both active for Monday night's Week 11 game against the Panthers. Vereen was activated from short-term I.R. Monday, so this comes as no surprise. Talib was listed as questionable and has been sidelined since injuring his hip in Week 6. He'll likely shadow Steve Smith. Brandon Bolden wasn't on the Week 11 injury report, so he's a healthy scratch with Vereen back in the fold. Look for Vereen to get anywhere from 8-14 touches. There have been conflicting reports on Vereen's potential usage in his return.
49ers LG Mike Iupati has sprained left MCL 11-18-2013
Mike Iupati OG ARZ
49ers LG Mike Iupati has been diagnosed with a sprained left MCL.

Matt Barrows on Twitter
Iupati couldn't put any weight on his left leg and was carted to the locker room Sunday against the Saints. He's likely looking at a 2-4 week recovery period and is fully expected to miss next Monday night's game against the Redskins. Iupati's play has dipped a bit this season, according to Pro Football Focus, who has graded him out as the No. 35 guard. Adam Snyder will fill in at left guard during Iupati's absence. Consider Iupati week-to-week.
John Carlson hangs 69 yards on Seahawks 11-18-2013
John Carlson TE ARZ
Vikings TE John Carlson caught five balls for 69 yards in Minnesota's Week 11 loss to Seattle. He saw seven targets, three of which came via Matt Cassel in garbage time. Carlson's big play, complete from Cassel, was a 30-yard gain down the left seam in the fourth quarter. In the absence of Kyle Rudolph (foot), Carlson has now strung together back-to-back productive efforts entering a Week 12 date with a Green Bay defense allowing the 11th most fantasy points to tight ends. We'd like Carlson as a TE1 streamer if the Vikings didn't have so much quarterback uncertainty.
Cutler's ankle has serious ligament damage 11-18-2013
Jay Cutler QB CHI
Speaking for the first time since Week 10, Jay Cutler implied his ankle injury is worse than has been reported and there are "worrisome ligament issues."

Rich Campbell on Twitter
"The ankle is the problem. The groin is going to be fine," Cutler said. "If I just had a normal high-ankle sprain, I wouldn't be in a cast. I'm searching for any doctor in the country that will say, 'Hey, you can play on this,' but we haven't found him yet. There's a couple ligaments that we're a little bit worried about that's different than a normal high-ankle sprain." Cutler initially targeted a Week 13 return against the Vikings, "but now I really don't know." All the Bears have said is that Cutler is "week-to-week." It sounds like Josh McCown could be in the saddle for at least a couple more starts.
Seahawks CB Browner (groin) out 4-6 weeks 11-18-2013
Brandon Browner SS SEA
Coach Pete Carroll acknowledged that RCB Brandon Browner (groin) may not return this season and is expected to miss at least 4-6 weeks.

Curtis Crabtree on Twitter
Browner was injured in Week 10 against the Falcons and has tissue damage in the groin area. Carroll had previously stated that Browner would be out "quite a while," but we now have a clearer picture of what Browner is dealing with. Browner is currently Pro Football Focus' No. 35 corner. His replacement opposite Richard Sherman, Walter Thurmond III, checks in at the No. 23 slot. It sounds like the Seahawks may simply be hoping to get Browner back for the playoffs.
Saints sign CB Trevin Wade 11-18-2013
Trevin Wade CB NYG
Saints signed CB Trevin Wade.

Mike Triplett on Twitter
Wade will take the roster spot of CB Jabari Greer (knee), who is expected to be placed on injured reserve. A seventh-round pick of the Browns in 2012, Wade appeared in 13 games as a rookie, but couldn't make it past final cuts this season. He'll serve on special teams for the Saints.
Goldson suspended again, appealing again 11-18-2013
Dashon Goldson SS ATL
NFL suspended Bucs FS Dashon Goldson one game for violating the league's policy on player safety.

Chris Mortensen on Twitter
Goldson laid a dubious hit on Atlanta's Roddy White Sunday. Goldson is (again) appealing the ban, but won't win this time. The league has finally had enough of his illegal hits. Goldon's 2013 has been mostly sound and fury, as his play has stunk. He's the No. 76 safety in Pro Football Focus' ratings. Nevertheless, it's a loss for a Bucs team tasked with slowing down Calvin Johnson in Week 12.
Raiders coach 'isn't sure' about DMC's status 11-18-2013
Darren McFadden RB DAL
Raiders coach Dennis Allen "isn't sure" how far along Darren McFadden (hamstring) is in his rehab.

Steve Corkran on Twitter
Perrish Cox works out for Seahawks 11-18-2013
Perrish Cox CB SEA
Free agent DBs Perrish Cox and Michael Huff worked out for the Seahawks last week.

Adam Caplan on Twitter
The 'Hawks have been known to sign former 49ers since the rise of the Pete Carroll/Jim Harbaugh rivalry, so it's possible Cox will get a deal. He was waived by San Francisco last Tuesday. Seattle and San Francisco will meet for the second time this season in Week 14.
Chargers sign free agent OT Willie Smith 11-18-2013
Willie Smith OT CAR
Chargers signed OT Willie Smith.

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
OT Kenny Wiggins was waived in a corresponding roster move. A third-year undrafted free agent, Smith has made 10 career starts, including seven for the Raiders last season. He'll provide depth for the Chargers' constantly banged up offensive line.
Reserve Bolts CB Patrick has concussion 11-18-2013
Johnny Patrick CB NYJ
Chargers CB Johnny Patrick has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
It's Patrick's third concussion since the preseason. He can be safely ruled out for Week 12, and is a candidate for injured reserve. The Chargers' No. 3 cornerback, Patrick has graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings, but so has every other Bolts corner.
Chargers insist Keenan Allen (knee) is 'fine' 11-18-2013
Keenan Allen WR SD
Speaking Monday, Chargers coach Mike McCoy said Keenan Allen (knee) is "fine."

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
"He'll be fine," McCoy reiterated. It appears Allen escaped with a mere hyperextension in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, and can be tentatively expected to suit up for Week 12. That being said, a coach saying a player is "fine" isn't akin to guaranteeing he'll be ready to go. Allen's status still warrants monitoring, but fantasy owners have likely dodged a bullet.
Gang Green to consider benching Stephen Hill 11-18-2013
Stephen Hill WR CAR
The Jets are considering benching Stephen Hill.

Manish Mehta on Twitter
"We've been expecting bigger things for Stephen," coach Rex Ryan said Monday. "Quite honestly, it hasn't happened." Hill has been held without a catch in back-to-back games, and has only 10 grabs for 107 yards since Week 4. He's a boom-or-bust player who hasn't gone "boom" in two months. With Jeremy Kerley (elbow) sidelined indefinitely, David Nelson would be the leading candidate to replace Hill opposite Santonio Holmes. Greg Salas could also continue to be mixed in more on offense. Hill can be safely dropped in re-draft leagues, though he remains worth a hold in Dynasty formats.
Denarius Moore undergoes MRI on shoulder 11-18-2013
Denarius Moore WR BUF
Denarius Moore underwent an MRI on his shoulder Monday.

Scott Bair on Twitter
Moore suffered the previously unknown injury in Sunday's win over the Texans. The results of his MRI are not yet known. Moore was held to two catches for 11 yards in Houston, and drew only six targets. It's quite possible his health was a factor. However, the fact that his injury flew under the radar is a sign tests are unlikely to turn up anything major.
Ex-Bengals, Raiders LB Howard passes away 11-18-2013
Thomas Howard LB ATL
KRON Bay Area 4 reports former Bengals and Raiders LB Thomas Howard was killed Monday in a high-speed car accident on an Oakland highway.

KRON 4 Bay Area
Howard was allegedly driving over 100 MPH when he lost control of his BMW sedan and collided with a semi-trick in the left lane. Howard's BMW later struck a Chevy Monte Carlo and Honda CRV. The driver of the Honda was also killed, while the Monte Carlo owner was hospitalized. The accident is believed to have occurred at roughly 12:50AM Monday. Howard was a second-round pick by Al Davis' Raiders in 2006. He was a starter for five years in the NFL.
Texans going with Case Keenum for Week 12 11-18-2013
Case Keenum QB LA
Case Keenum will be the Texans' Week 12 starter at quarterback.

Texans on Twitter
"I've got total confidence in him," coach Gary Kubiak said with a straight face at Monday's presser. Kubiak then launched into a convoluted explanation for his knee-jerk benching of Keenum against the Raiders, which did not pan out. Matt Schaub was worse in relief, angering No. 1 receiver Andre Johnson in the process. Keenum's play has tailed off since his first two starts, but not to the extent that he doesn't deserve continued time to grow under center. He's shown enough to keep making starts. Johnson owners should hope he keeps the job. Schaub has shown a baffling inability to get him the ball as much as his talent would dictate.
McGloin 'in the discussion' to start Week 12 11-18-2013
Matt McGloin QB OAK
Speaking Monday, Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Matt McGloin has "certainly earned the right to be in the discussion" for the team's Week 12 starter.

Paul Gutierrez on Twitter
Bucs send CB Michael Adams to injured reserve 11-18-2013
Michael Adams CB TB
Bucs placed CB Michael Adams on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Roy Cummings on Twitter
Adams had been dealing with knee issues since Week 1, where he underwent a clean-up procedure. The exact extent of his injury is unknown, though it's serious enough to cost him the final six games. Adams struggled in limited snaps this season, and is not under contract for 2014, which will be his age-29 campaign. Adams has made 80 career appearances, but only seven starts.
Vereen officially activated from I.R./recall 11-18-2013
Shane Vereen RB NYG
Patriots activated RB Shane Vereen (wrist surgery) from injured reserve/designated to return.

Mike Reiss on Twitter
Vereen will be active for Monday night's game against the Panthers, but is expected to be "eased in," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. If you're deciding between Vereen and one of the Panthers' three running backs as your FLEX player, Vereen will be a high-risk, moderate-reward option. He's best left benched until Week 12.
Packers name Scott Tolzien Week 12 starter 11-18-2013
Aaron Rodgers QB GB
Speaking Monday, coach Mike McCarthy named Scott Tolzien the Packers' Week 12 starter at quarterback.

Tyler Dunne on Twitter
Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) hinted last Tuesday that he was hoping to return for Week 12, but McCarthy was vague on his progress. "I don't make medical decisions," McCarthy said. "We know (Rodgers) wants to return as soon as he can." Although it wouldn't be stunning were Rodgers to return against the Vikings, it's a long-shot. Rodgers was given a 4-6 week timetable upon going down, and Week 12 would be the third game he's missed. Thanksgiving remains Rodgers' most likely return date, though even that is far from certain. His status should be updated later this week.
Broncos S Moore has serious leg issue 11-18-2013
Rahim Moore FS NYG
Broncos FS Rahim Moore (leg) has been diagnosed with lateral compartment syndrome.

Lindsay Jones on Twitter
It's a very serious issue, one that could have led to Moore's leg being amputated had the Broncos not acted quickly. Moore is expected to miss "several weeks," with the Denver Post reporting injured reserve is a possibility. Mike Adams will fill in at free safety.
Broncos label Julius Thomas as 'day to day' 11-18-2013
Julius Thomas TE JAX
Speaking Monday, Broncos interim coach Jack Del Rio would only call Julius Thomas' knee injury a "sprain," and labeled him day to day.

Lindsay Jones on Twitter
JDR was extremely low on specifics. Both "sprain" and "day to day" could mean almost anything, though it does appear serious injury can be ruled out. Either way, Thomas is looking shaky for Sunday's showdown with the Patriots for the time being. Owners need to have contingency plan ready. Thomas' status will be updated no later than Wednesday.
49ers noncommittal on Crabtree's status 11-18-2013
Michael Crabtree WR OAK
Speaking Monday, coach Jim Harbaugh was noncommittal on Michael Crabtree's (PUP, Achilles') Week 12 availability.

Matt Barrows on Twitter
Harbaugh only called Crabtree "close," and wouldn't say whether he'll be back for Monday Night Football against the Redskins. In the event Crabtree did play, he'd probably be on a Harvinian snap count, playing no more than 20 downs. There's still an outside chance Crabtree will be an asset during the fantasy playoffs, but no guarantees coming off a typically explosion-sapping injury.
Stephen Paea 'week to week' 11-18-2013
Stephen Paea DE CLE
Bears NT Stephen Paea (toe) is considered "week to week."

Brad Biggs on Twitter
He'll miss at least Week 12 against the Rams, and quite possibly more. The Bears' top run defender, Paea missed multiple games earlier this season with a similar injury. Zac Stacy is going to be a locked-in RB1 in Week 12.
Trestman: Jay Cutler remains Bears starter 11-18-2013
Jay Cutler QB CHI
Coach Marc Trestman confirmed Jay Cutler (ankle, groin) remains the Bears' starter when healthy.

Mike Wright on Twitter
We're not sure why this is such a big story because it's not even close between Cutler and Josh McCown. McCown deserves credit for playing well as a backup. But he is a backup. "Jay is the quarterback of our football team and Josh is our backup quarterback," Trestman announced Monday. "The three of us all know that. That hasn't changed." Cutler has been ruled out for Week 12.
Jordan Reed in NFL's concussion testing 11-18-2013
Jordan Reed TE WAS
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Monday Jordan Reed will need to pass the NFL's protocol concussion testing before being cleared for Week 12.

Brian McNally on Twitter
The Redskins play the 49ers on Monday Night Football, giving Reed one extra day to get through the tests. Washington needs Reed badly with No. 2 wideout Leonard Hankerson sidelined indefinitely by a left LCL tear. Reed was concussed in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He finished with one catch for 12 yards.
Skins WR Hankerson may need knee surgery 11-18-2013
Leonard Hankerson WR BUF
Leonard Hankerson may need surgery to repair his left LCL injury.

Chris Russell on Twitter
The Redskins appear to be still waiting for the results of an MRI. HankTime could need a procedure if the LCL shows up as torn. The Redskins could then turn to Aldrick Robinson or Santana Moss as a starter opposite Pierre Garcon. Josh Morgan seems to have complained his way out of the picture.
John Sullivan suffers Week 11 concussion 11-18-2013
John Sullivan C WAS
Vikings C John Sullivan suffered a concussion in Sunday's Week 11 loss to the Seahawks.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune
His status is uncertain for Week 12 against Green Bay, but the Vikings really need him against B.J. Raji & Co. Sullivan has graded out as a top-11 center in Pro Football Focus' 2013 ratings. He finished last season No. 1 overall.
Lance Briggs ruled out for Week 12 11-18-2013
Lance Briggs LB CHI
Bears WLB Lance Briggs (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 12.

Tom Pelissero on Twitter
Coach Marc Trestman told reporters Briggs remains "a couple weeks away" from returning to action. Instead of using rookie Khaseem Greene as Briggs' full-time replacement in Week 11, Chicago employed two-linebacker packages and still got destroyed by the Ravens' running game. They face Zac Stacy next.
Antone Smith could get more touches? 11-18-2013
Antone Smith RB TB
Falcons coach Mike Smith said Monday he believes it's "imperative" to get RB Antone Smith more involved on offense.

Vaughn McClure on Twitter
Smith gained 92 total yards and scored a touchdown on three garbage-time touches in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. Behind Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers, and Jason Snelling on the depth chart, it's difficult to say where Smith could make his mark. Perhaps it would come at the expense of S-Jax, who has struggled mightily during his full-on flop of a season with Atlanta.
Bears rule out Cutler for Week 12 Rams game 11-18-2013
Jay Cutler QB CHI
Jay Cutler (ankle, groin) has been ruled out for Week 12. Coach Marc Trestman continues to characterize Cutler as "week to week." Josh McCown will make his third start of the season in Week 12 against St. Louis, where he'll be a high-end QB2 in fantasy football. Cutler is still worth stashing for the fantasy postseason, but just barely in 12-team leagues. He's dealing with a high ankle sprain in addition to the preexisting groin tear.
Jason Snelling returns to the team 11-18-2013
Jason Snelling RB ATL
Jason Snelling has returned to the Falcons after missing Week 11 for personal reasons.

Vaughn McClure on Twitter
Snelling was recently arrested for marijuana possession, and before had been battling a knee injury. He is No. 3 on the Falcons' running back depth chart.
Titans place Campbell on injured reserve 11-18-2013
Tommie Campbell S JAX
Titans placed CB Tommie Campbell (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season. The Titans tried molding Campbell into a starter to take Alterraun Verner's job all offseason. When push came to shove, Campbell couldn't cut it and Verner has exploded to become one of the NFL's top cornerbacks in 2013, his contract year. At one point a core special teamer but never an asset on defense, Campbell shouldn't be assured of a roster spot in 2014.
McCown: 'No doubt' Jay Cutler remains starter 11-18-2013
Josh McCown QB CLE
Josh McCown acknowledged Monday there is "no doubt" Jay Cutler (ankle/groin) remains the Bears' starter when healthy.

Chicago Tribune
McCown has engineered wins in each of his two starts and has a 5:0 TD-to-INT ratio, but there is no question Cutler's job is safe. "I have said this over and over again - I'm the backup quarterback on this team," said 34-year-old journeyman McCown. "The way that I serve my team is to play when the starter is not healthy. Jay is our starting quarterback, there is no doubt about that."
Bills feel good about Johnson, Woods 11-18-2013
Stevie Johnson WR SD
Coach Doug Marrone "sounded optimistic" Monday when asked about the Week 13 status of Stevie Johnson (groin) and Robert Woods (ankle).

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
Now on a bye, the Bills got a win and strong performance from E.J. Manuel in Sunday's game against the Jets despite missing each of their starting wide receivers. Woods has a high ankle sprain. Johnson's groin injury should wind up costing him only one game. The return of Woods and Johnson will relegate Week 11 breakout star Marquise Goodwin back to situational deep threat work.
Titans sign QB John Skelton 11-18-2013
John Skelton QB TEN
Titans signed QB John Skelton, formerly of the 49ers.

Chris Mortensen on Twitter
Skelton had a cup of coffee in San Francisco after spending training camp with the Bengals and getting beaten out by Josh Johnson to back up Andy Dalton. Still only 25 1/2 years old, Skelton has a career TD-to-INT ratio of 15:25. The Titans hope he will push Rusty Smith behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Shane Vereen may not be 'eased in' 11-18-2013
Shane Vereen RB NYG
SI's Greg Bedard believes the extent of any restrictions on Shane Vereen's (wrist) Monday night playing time will "depend on the score."

Greg Bedard on Twitter
Bedard "lol'd" at Adam Schefter's report that Vereen will be "eased in" against the Panthers because that's been expected to happen so many times before with Patriots players and didn't, a la Rob Gronkowski a month ago. Vereen is still a rather boom-or-bust flex option, but it's entirely possible he'll wind up playing a lot of snaps if New England needs him to Monday night.
Greg Toler to return from his groin injury 11-18-2013
Greg Toler CB WAS
Colts LCB Greg Toler will return from his groin injury in Week 12.

Mike Chappell on Twitter
He returned to practice on Monday and will start against Arizona barring an unforeseen setback. Toler wound up missing three games with the injury.
Josh Robinson may be lost for the season 11-18-2013
Josh Robinson CB TB
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier revealed Monday CB Josh Robinson "might" miss the rest of the season with a fractured sternum.

Paul Allen on Twitter
The 2-8 Vikings don't have much season left. Although Robinson has played better of late, he was a major part of Minnesota's early-season deficiencies in pass defense, proving an inadequate replacement for slot corner Antoine Winfield. The Vikings won't be able to count on Robinson as a nickel back in 2014.
NFL suspends Colts LB Walden for headbutting 11-18-2013
Erik Walden OLB IND
NFL suspended Colts OLB Erik Walden one game for headbutting Titans TE Delanie Walker in Week 11.

Jay Glazer on Twitter
Walden hasn't provided much pass rush this season, but he is a quality edge-setting run defender. Rookie Bjoern Werner will move into an every-down linebacker role in Week 12 against the Cardinals. Signed to a four-year, $16 million contract in the offseason, Walden has 28 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble on the season. He's started all ten of the Colts' games to this point.
Lions insist Bush wasn't benched for fumbling 11-18-2013
Reggie Bush RB BUF
Coach Jim Schwartz insisted Monday Reggie Bush was not benched for fumbling in Detroit's Week 11 loss to Pittsburgh.

Dave Birkett on Twitter
Schwartz said Bush's scaled-back snaps had "nothing to do" with his loose ball, explaining the Lions wanted to work in Joique Bell and Theo Riddick more in that particular game because they believed Bush wouldn't run as well on the Heinz Field tundra. "Reggie in horse racing wouldn't be called a mudder," said Schwartz. "He's an explosively quick guy. He's better on a fast track." The Lions return home to their "fast track" in Week 12 versus the Bucs.
Joique Bell avoids long-term injury 11-18-2013
Joique Bell RB DET
Lions coach Jim Schwartz told reporters Monday that Joique Bell (foot) has avoided a long-term injury.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
Schwartz put Bell in the "day to day/week to week" category, which provides little clarity on his Week 12 status. Look for Reggie Bush to handle a full workload this week against the Bucs after Bell felt a "kind of pop" in the foot during Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. Bell remains a hold in all fantasy leagues.
Schwartz: 'Possibility' Burleson plays Wk 12 11-18-2013
Nate Burleson WR CLE
Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Monday there's a "possibility" Nate Burleson (arm) returns to action in Week 12.

Dave Birkett on Twitter
The Lions next play the Bucs, who've been gashed by slot receivers like Rishard Matthews and Harry Douglas. "He's on a good track," Schwartz said of Burleson. The Lions are now tied atop the NFC North with the Bears following a Week 11 loss to Pittsburgh. We suspect Burleson will start against Tampa.
Denard Robinson plays zero snaps in Week 11 11-18-2013
Denard Robinson RB JAX
Denard Robinson didn't play a single offensive snap in Week 11.

Mike Clay on Twitter
Robinson fumbled in Week 10 and has been a non-factor since. Although "Shoelace" maintains some Dynasty league value, he's off the re-draft radar.
Michael Vick now healthy enough to play 11-18-2013
Michael Vick QB PIT
Eagles coach Chip Kelly conceded Michael Vick (hamstring) "probably" could have played in Week 11 against Washington.

Jeff McLane on Twitter
Vick's hamstring is healthy, but he's lost his starting job to Nick Foles. Foles has produced a 16:0 TD-to-INT ratio with two more rushing scores, and Philly is currently on a three-game win streak. Vick isn't getting the job back.

Jaguars confirm Henne will keep QB job 11-18-2013
Chad Henne QB JAX
Coach Gus Bradley confirmed Monday Chad Henne remains the Jaguars' starting quarterback.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
This is the second week in a row Bradley has had to give Henne a vote of confidence after a brutal performance. Based on film study and intangibles, the Jaguars have clearly determined Henne is their best quarterback and turned the page on Blaine Gabbert. Henne will start at Houston in Week 12.
Paul Posluszny cleared to return 11-18-2013
Paul Posluszny MLB JAX
Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (concussion) has been cleared.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
It's safe for IDP owners to get Posluszny back into lineups ahead of the Week 12 game against the Texans. He's averaging 9.7 tackles per game on the year with one sack, one forced fumble and two interceptions.

Marlon Brown says he'll be back Week 12 11-18-2013
Marlon Brown WR DEN
Marlon Brown (knee) said he will return for Week 12.

Baltimore Sun
Brown warmed up ahead of Sunday's loss at Chicago, but was a late scratch. "I'll be fine this week," he said. "It's just bruised. I'll be good." Brown's return will shift Tandon Doss back into the No. 3 job.
Redskins-Giants not flexed out of SNF Week 13 11-18-2013
Eli Manning QB NYG
NBC has opted not to flex out of the Giants at Redskins game scheduled for Sunday Night Football in Week 13. With the Giants at 4-6 and the Redskins at 3-7, there was some chatter that the game would be replaced -- possibly by the 6-4 Cardinals at the 6-5 Eagles. It's not happening. With the G-Men making yet another late playoff push after starting 0-6, the game will kick off at 8:30pm ET as scheduled.
Cecil Shorts won't back off what he said 11-18-2013
Cecil Shorts WR TB
Speaking Monday, Cecil Shorts did not backtrack on his inflammatory comments from Sunday afternoon.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
Shorts was livid following his 2/22/0 performance in the loss to the Cardinals, calling his one target until garbage time (expletive) dumb. "I'm going to have to say something and sit down with them because it's getting ridiculous," he said while referring to the coaches. Shorts hasn't had that sitdown yet, but we'd view this as a good thing for his fantasy prospects. Chad Henne should try to grease the squeaky wheel as much as he can against the Texans in Week 12.

Derek Sherrod gets a few snaps in 11-18-2013
Derek Sherrod T KC
Packers OT Derek Sherrod was active Sunday for the first time since his catastrophic 2011 leg injury.

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Sherrod didn't get any snaps on offense, merely being used as a blocker on place kicks. Still, it's a step in right direction as the former first-round pick slowly makes his way back. The banged-up Packers could certainly use him.
Chris Ogbonnaya leads way in snaps 11-18-2013
Chris Ogbonnaya RB NYG
Chris Ogbonnaya led the Browns backfield with 48 snaps in Sunday's loss at Cincy.

Willis McGahee (eight touches) played just 13 snaps and Fozzy Whittaker (nine touches) got 23. Ogbonnaya racked up 99 yards on his 14 touches as the Browns fulfilled their promise to get him more early-down work. He's also averaging 3.8 catches per day over the last eight games, giving the fullback type some desperation PPR appeal. The Browns have plus matchups against the Steelers and Jags on deck.
Peter Konz blows chance as starting center 11-18-2013
Peter Konz C ATL
Falcons G/C Peter Konz was benched during Sunday's Week 11 loss at Tampa.

Konz got the nod at guard Sunday ahead of Garrett Reynolds as Joe Hawley stepped in at center. But Konz got humiliated by dominating Bucs DT Gerald McCoy and was replaced by Reynolds. "Just one on one, and I lost," he admitted. "So that's why they replaced me." The Falcons are grasping at straws as they try to patch together some semblance of an offensive line. It's a problem unlikely to be solved without an infusion of talent this offeason.
Marvin Jones still playing limited snaps 11-18-2013
Marvin Jones WR DET
Marvin Jones played on just 20 snaps in Sunday's win over the Browns.

The fluky 8/122/4 line Jones put up in Week 8 has not earned him a significant boost in role. In the three games since that outburst, he's totaled six catches for 77 yards with no touchdowns. Jones continues to share time in two-wide sets with Mohamed Sanu and won't be anything more than a WR4 when the Bengals come out of their bye.
Jabari Greer's knee injury is serious 11-18-2013
Jabari Greer CB NO
Coach Sean Payton said the knee injury CB Jabari Greer sustained Sunday is "serious."

New Orleans Times-Picayune
Greer leaped to try to knock down a pass intended for Jon Baldwin and came down awkwardly on his left leg. He had to be carted off. Corey White, a 2012 fifth-round pick, will step in as the starter.
David DeCastro eats up Ndamukong Suh 11-18-2013
David DeCastro OG PIT
Lions DT Ndamukong Suh didn't record any tackles, sacks or pressures in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Much of the credit goes to Steelers RG David DeCastro, who is emerging as one of the best interior linemen in football. The No. 24 overall pick in the 2012 draft was part of a Steelers offensive line that helped Ben Roethlisberger to go 29-of-45 for 367 yards with four touchdowns and no picks. Big Ben was sacked just once.
Josh Morgan sounds off about role 11-18-2013
Josh Morgan WR NO
Josh Morgan took a shot at coach Mike Shanahan after being deemed a healthy scratch Sunday.

Washington Post
When asked about his demotion following Sunday's loss at Philly, Morgan said the following: "Coach said I can't talk. Coach said I can't play football and I can't talk." The former starter should have held his tongue because new starting Z receiver Leonard Hankerson went down with a knee injury. If the issue proves serious, Morgan has a chance to get re-installed as an every-down player.
Adrian Peterson says groin bothered him a lot 11-18-2013
Adrian Peterson RB MIN
Following Sunday's loss at Seattle, Adrian Peterson said his groin injury was "bothering" him "a lot."

St. Paul Pioneer Press
Peterson didn't practice on Thursday or Friday and rushed 21 times for just 65 yards against the Seahawks. The Pioneer Press says he just didn't appear to have the burst or quickness he needed. "Actually, it was bothering me a lot," Peterson said. "There were a couple plays in the first half, oh man, I knew if I was able to explode the way I normally do I could have gotten some big chunks, even taken it to the house." Peterson doesn't think he'll need to take any time off, but perhaps expectations should be held in check for a Week 12 matchup at Green Bay. We'll know more as the week moves along.
Jones-Drew blames stacked box for woes 11-18-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew blamed stacked boxes for his meager 23 yards on 14 carries in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Florida Times Union
The Jaguars offense has gone in the tank without Justin Blackmon, leading to a frustrated Cecil Shorts and no creases for MJD. "They're loading the box to stop the run. It's frustrating. It's a challenge," Jones-Drew said. He has scored in back-to-back games, meaning the time is now to try to sell. Averaging a pathetic 2.89 YPC on the season, Jones-Drew isn't going to turn this thing around. He's lost a step or three and the Jags' passing game isn't going to spring to life.

LeSean McCoy says scare may have been a cramp 11-18-2013
LeSean McCoy RB BUF
LeSean McCoy said the hamstring injury he played through Sunday may have been a cramp.

Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News
Considering how good McCoy looked after emerging from the locker room, a cramp makes sense. "It just grabbed really tight," he said. "I was cutting and running, and it kind of just gave out. But I went back there and did some stretching and different treatment and I was back." The league's leading rusher will be ready to rock when the Eagles come out of their Week 12 bye.
Ed Reed steps right into full-time role 11-18-2013
Ed Reed S NYJ
Making his Jets debut Sunday, Ed Reed played on 61-of-69 defensive snaps.

Rich Cimini on Twitter
The Jets secondary was shredded by E.J. Manuel, who went 20-of-28 for 245 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. It wasn't all Reed's fault of course, but his presence certainly didn't help the secondary. The Ravens and Texans gave up on the future Hall of Famer because he can't run anymore and Sunday's debut won't do anything to squash that notion. Former starter Antonio Allen played just four snaps.
Garrett Hartley gets back on track 11-18-2013
Garrett Hartley K PIT
Garrett Hartley went 3-of-3 on field goals in Sunday's 23-20 Week 11 win over the 49ers.

Hartley came into the game having missed four of his last six attempts. But he was clutch in this one, making all three kicks with under eight minutes remaining in a close game. It should be a big boost of confidence for Hartley, who will be one of fantasy's best kicking options in the Week 12 Thursday night game at Atlanta.
Burleson still on track to return Week 12 11-18-2013
Nate Burleson WR CLE
Nate Burleson (arm) is tentatively expected to return for Week 12.

Detroit News
Barring a setback, the Detroit News sees Burleson playing against the Bucs. It will be his first game since breaking his forearm during ahead of Week 4. Burleson needs to be owned in 12- and 14-team leagues as he was averaging 6.3 catches for 79.6 yards before going down.

Percy Harvin was on a 20-snap limit 11-18-2013
Percy Harvin WR BUF
Coach Pete Carroll said he didn't want Percy Harvin to play more than 20 snaps in Sunday's win over the Vikings.

Bob Condotta on Twitter
Harvin ended up playing 16 snaps in his 2013 debut, catching one pass for 17 yards and bringing back a kickoff for 58 yards. It was a fine showing considering he had been through both hip surgery and an appendectomy since we last saw him on an NFL field. Look for Harvin to continue to work his way into game shape during the bye week and have his snap count raised significantly for Week 13.
Julius Thomas headed for tests on knee Monday 11-18-2013
Julius Thomas TE JAX
Julius Thomas will undergo further testing on his knee Monday.

Mike Klis on Twitter
It looked like a really bad injury when Thomas got his knee bent the wrong way by Marcus Cooper's helmet in the third quarter Sunday night. He was able to walk it off and briefly got back in the game, but he spent most of the fourth quarter pacing around the sideline while watching Joel Dreessen operate at tight end. Thomas' owners should be hoping for a slight hyperextension or contusion diagnosis. We should have the results of the testing by Monday afternoon.
Early sense: Keenan Allen has hyperextension 11-18-2013
Keenan Allen WR SD
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the "early sense" is that Keenan Allen sustained a knee hyperextension in Sunday's loss at Miami.

McFadden to play behind Jennings upon return? 11-18-2013
Darren McFadden RB DAL
Coach Dennis Allen again suggested that Darren McFadden (hamstring) will be a timeshare back when he returns.

Contra Costa Times
Rashad Jennings is simply playing too well for the Raiders to strip him of starting duties. Over the last three weeks, he's rushed 57 times for 340 yards (5.96 YPC) with two touchdowns and has added 11 catches for 91 more yards. "(Jennings has) been a guy we've called on to come in and run the ball and he's done a great job at it," Allen said. "As he continues to run the ball like he's doing, he's going to continue to get opportunities to run the ball." McFadden is averaging just 3.59 YPC on the year and no one knows when his hammy will be ready to go anyway.
DeAndre Hopkins benched for mental mistakes 11-18-2013
DeAndre Hopkins WR HOU
DeAndre Hopkins was benched during Sunday's loss to the Raiders.

Houston Chronicle
"Bottom line, DeAndre made a lot of mistakes early in the game, so we gave another guy a chance to play," coach Gary Kubiak said. After the game, Hopkins acknowledged his issues and appeared to understand what he did wrong. He was on the field late in the game, finishing with one catch for seven yards on two targets. The 2-8 Texans are a dumpster fire with a quarterback controversy right now, but we can't imagine them limiting the playing time of Hopkins going forward. He's their first-round pick and a huge piece of their future.

Anthony Fasano finds end-zone in Week 11 11-18-2013
Anthony Fasano TE TEN
Anthony Fasano caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Broncos. Fasano made an impressive 10-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end-zone late in the fourth quarter and secured all four of his targets from Alex Smith. He's still no higher than the No. 5 option in the passing game and won't be more than a low-end TE2 in Week 12 against the Chargers.
Julius Thomas posts 3/43/1 line vs. Chiefs 11-18-2013
Julius Thomas TE JAX
Julius Thomas had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Chiefs. Thomas continues to dominate red-zone targets and scored on a nine-yard slant in the first quarter. It was just the first touchdown the Chiefs have allowed to a tight end all season. Thomas took a helmet to the knee from Marcus Cooper in the third quarter, but managed to stay in the game. He could miss practice time next week.
Donnie Avery held to one catch in Week 11 11-18-2013
Donnie Avery WR KC
Donnie Avery caught one pass for 20 yards in Week 11 against the Broncos. He was targeted three times in the passing game. Avery starts and plays the majority of snaps outside of Dwayne Bowe in two-wide sets, but remains off the fantasy radar. He has just 28 catches, 416 yards, and one touchdown through 10 games.
McCluster leads Chiefs with five receptions 11-18-2013
Dexter McCluster RB SD
Dexter McCluster had five catches for 53 yards in Sunday night's Week 11 loss to the Broncos. McCluster was featured in the short-to-intermediate passing game and finished with eight targets. He's the Chiefs biggest playmaker behind Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe, but has little upside as a possession receiver in a run-heavy offense. Continue to avoid McCluster in the majority of fantasy leagues.
Decker manages 71 yards on five catches 11-18-2013
Eric Decker WR NYJ
Eric Decker caught five passes for 71 yards in Week 11 against the Chiefs. Decker didn't make his first catch until late in the second quarter and was the No. 3 option in the passing game behind Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker. He was targeted just six times in the passing game and hasn't had more than 70 yards receiving in the last three weeks. Decker could get a boost in value with Wes Welker (concussion) sidelined. He'll remain a solid WR2 in Week 12 against New England.
Bowe leads Chiefs in Week 11 receiving 11-18-2013
Dwayne Bowe WR CLE
Dwayne Bowe had four catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 11 loss to the Broncos. Bowe started despite his controversial arrest last week and scored on a six-yard pass in the second quarter. He was able to find the end-zone for the first time since Week 4 and had a team-high 14 targets. It was one of his more productive games of the season, but Bowe won't be more than a WR3 option against the Chargers in Week 12.
Demaryius Thomas posts 121 yards in win 11-18-2013
Demaryius Thomas WR DEN
Demaryius Thomas caught five passes for 121 yards in Sunday night's Week 11 win over Kansas City. Thomas beat Marcus Cooper deep for a 70-yard catch in the first quarter, but was held out of the end-zone after scoring three touchdowns in Week 10. It was his third 100-plus yard game of the season and he finished with a team-high 13 targets. Thomas now has 60 catches, 914 yards, and nine touchdowns through 10 games and will remain high-end WR1 for next week's matchup with the Patriots.
Montee Ball vultures two touchdowns on SNF 11-18-2013
Montee Ball RB DEN
Montee Ball had eight carries for 26 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 11 win over the Chiefs. Ball had a fumble in the first quarter that was officially credited to Peyton Manning, but was able to bounce back by converting on two goal-line carries. He took on an expanded role behind Knowshon Moreno and was used both situationally and on third downs. It's the second straight week Ball has looked impressive on limited carries and he should continue to push for more work going forward. The Broncos take on the Patriots on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.
Moreno loses goal-line carries in Week 11 11-18-2013
Knowshon Moreno RB MIA
Knowshon Moreno rushed 27 times for 79 yards in Sunday night's Week 11 win over the Chiefs. Moreno surprisingly wasn't used in the passing game and finished without any catches. He averaged just 2.9 yards per carry and lost significant snaps to Montee Ball, who vultured two touchdowns inside the 10-yard line. Moreno could continue to lose goal-line work going forward, but will have a much easier matchup in Week 12 against the Patriots. He's locked in as an every-week RB1.
Charles held to 78 yards in Week 11 loss 11-18-2013
Jamaal Charles RB KC
Jamaal Charles had 16 carries for 78 yards in Sunday night's Week 11 loss to Denver. Charles was held in check outside of a 35-yard run in the first half and wasn't a factor in the passing game, finishing with two catches on six targets. It was his lowest statistical output of the season and just the second time he hasn't totaled over 100 all-purpose yards. Charles failed to convert on two goal-line carries and dropped a touchdown pass in the end-zone in the second quarter. The Chiefs played from behind the entire game and were forced to abandon the run and use him in pass protection. Charles will be back as a top-five RB1 in Week 12 against the Chargers.
Alex Smith throws for 230 yards, 2 TDS on SNF 11-18-2013
Alex Smith QB KC
Alex Smith completed 21-of-45 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 11 loss to the Broncos. He added five carries for 52 yards, with the majority of his yardage coming on a scramble against prevent defense at the end of the first half. Smith didn't take any shots downfield and generally held on to the ball too long, taking three sacks. His only success came in the short-to-intermediate passing game, with his longest play of the night a 26-yard completion to Dwayne Bowe. Despite the decent box-score stats, Smith isn't worth owning in the standard fantasy leagues and will remain just a QB2 against the Chargers in Week 12.
Peyton Manning held to one touchdown vs KC 11-18-2013
Peyton Manning QB DEN
Peyton Manning completed 24-of-40 passes for 323 yards and one touchdown in Sunday night's Week 11 win over the Chiefs. It's the first time this season Manning has been held to just one touchdown. He still threw for over 300 yards for the fourth straight game and completed 60 percent of his passes, but the Broncos played conservatively in the second half, leaning on a committee attack from Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball. Manning's lone touchdown came on a six-yard slant to Julius Thomas in the first quarter. The win puts Denver in first place in the AFC West and in the driver's seat for the top overall seed. Manning will be a top-three QB1 in Week 12 against the Patriots.
Eric Fisher suffers Week 11 shoulder injury 11-18-2013
Eric Fisher OT KC
Chiefs RT Eric Fisher suffered a shoulder injury in Week 11 against the Broncos. He's been ruled out for the game. It's possible the Chiefs are just holding him out for precautionary reasons, but Fisher dealt with a shoulder issue earlier this season. His status will be updated no later than Wednesday.
