Ravens-Bears forecast includes t-storms 11-16-2013
Josh McCown QB CLE
The forecast for Sunday's Ravens-Bears game at Soldier Field is currently calling for "possibly severe" afternoon thunderstorms and winds in the 25-35 MPH range.
The chance of rain is 70 percent, and per Sunday's storms could "contain damaging winds." It's not cold in Chicago -- it's been in the 50s and 60s Saturday and is expected to be around 65 on Sunday -- but the expectation of strong winds could be a concern for vertical passing. The Bears will play quick-out passing offense as they always do. The Ravens are more of a vertical passing team, so this could be a concern for Torrey Smith.

Vernon Davis TE WAS
The Sacramento Bee considers Vernon Davis (concussion, questionable) "on track to play" Sunday at New Orleans.

Sacramento Bee
The 49ers promoted TE Derek Carrier from their practice squad on Saturday, but it's believed that was more a reflection of Garrett Celek's (hamstring) status. Celek isn't going to play. Keep checking back for updates, but Davis underwent his final concussion protocol test on Friday, and is tentatively scheduled to start against the Saints. Beat writer Matt Barrows wrote again on his blog Saturday that Davis is "expected to play."

Donald Brown RB NE
The Indianapolis Star does not anticipate the Colts promoting Donald Brown into the starting lineup over Trent Richardson.

Indianapolis Star
Coach Chuck Pagano indicated the Colts will "ride the hot hand," and Brown has had it for most of the year in Indy. The Colts are still expected to "continue to divide carries" between disappointing in-season acquisition Richardson and normal change-of-pace back Brown. If "a guy gets hot, you can always go with the hot hand," Pagano said. "But I like the way we're doing things now."

He's making the right reads, he's doing all the right things, he knows what to do. His numbers are going to come. I'm not concerned about that." Michael Crabtree WR OAK
Coach Jim Harbaugh said "it doesn't look probable" that the 49ers will activate Michael Crabtree (Achilles') from the PUP list this week.

Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
"He had a week of running routes, of sprinting, pushing the sled, lifting, training and catching," Harbaugh said. "He wasn't part of the team workout, but controlled would be the best way to say it." Crabtree practiced with the team Friday after doing side work Wednesday and Thursday. The 49ers have until November 28 to activate Crabtree to the active roster or shut him down for the year. A return for Week 12 against the Redskins next Monday night seems possible.
