Peanut Tillman won't shadow Calvin Johnson 09-25-2013
Calvin Johnson WR DET
Bears RCB Charles Tillman told reporters Wednesday he does not plan to shadow Calvin Johnson in Sunday's game.

detroitlions.com
Tillman is battling a variety of injuries, and the Bears are resistant to moving him around. "As of now I'm just on the right side," said Tillman. It's great news for Megatron's matchup because Tillman has been his kryptonite in past meetings. Johnson has not scored a touchdown in a Bears game since October of 2011. His last three stat lines against Chicago are 5-72, 3-34, 7-81.
Reggie Bush says he'll play against Bears 09-25-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Reggie Bush (knee) confirmed Wednesday he plans to play in Week 4 against the Bears.

detroitlions.com
"Yes," said a confident Bush when asked if he'll start. Bush felt "good" after turning in a full practice Wednesday, and will be in the fantasy RB1 mix against a Bears defense that has disappointed early in the season.
Broncos remain high on Montee Ball 09-25-2013
Montee Ball RB DEN
According to the Denver Post, the Broncos still believe Montee Ball will become "a top-tier tailback."

Denver Post
It was garbage time, of course, but the Broncos did keep feeding Ball after he lost his second fumble in as many games Monday night against Oakland. Ball was not a fumbler in college. Ball still needs to earn Peyton Manning's trust in pass protection. At the moment, he's in danger of falling behind Ronnie Hillman in the No. 2 role. Knowshon Moreno remains Denver's clear lead back.
Chud to Josh Gordon: We are not trading you 09-25-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
Josh Gordon says coach Rob Chudzinski told him the Browns have no intentions of trading him.

Akron Beacon-Journal
Perhaps, but the Browns leaked dirt on Gordon through the media this offseason, and did not stand behind him publicly through his two-game suspension ordeal. If they don't trade him, it's not because they want to keep Gordon. It's because the offers they received weren't enough. "[Chud] texted me the other day talking about it and just reassuring me there were no trade offers or anything like that," Gordon said. "The fact that [Chud] said there wasn't [a plan to trade me], it makes me feel a little more comfortable."
9ers list Vernon Davis questionable for Thurs 09-25-2013
Vernon Davis TE SF
Vernon Davis (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Rams.
Texans work out host of defensive backs 09-25-2013
Ras-I Dowling CB NYJ
Free agent CB Ras-I Dowling worked out for the Texans.

National Football Post
It's Dowling's first known workout since getting cut by the Patriots in late-August. Texans starting corners Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson both did not practice Wednesday. Free agent CBs Jalil Brown and Myron Lewis also joined Dowling, the No. 33 overall pick in the 2011 draft, at the workout.
Santonio Holmes (foot) limited Wednesday 09-25-2013
Santonio Holmes WR CHI
Santonio Holmes (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday. Different week, same story. Coming off a five-catch, 154-yard, one-touchdown effort last week, Holmes has put himself back on the WR3/4 radar.
Jones-Drew doesn't practice Wednesday 09-25-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. The Jaguars said it was more for rest purposes. Jones-Drew is on the RB2 radar this week against the Colts, but he hasn't topped 50 yards on the ground in a game yet this season. The Jacksonville offensive line can't block anyone.
Report: Antoine Winfield considering return 09-25-2013
Antoine Winfield CB SEA
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports "retired" CB Antoine Winfield is working out in Houston and considering a return to "the right situation."

Josina Anderson on Twitter
Winfield never filed his retirement papers after he announced his retirement. He spent the summer with the Seahawks, but Seattle was preparing to release the 36-year-old at final cuts before he hung up the cleats. The Vikings and Redskins hotly pursued Winfield along with Seattle, but those two teams are a combined 1-5. Those wouldn't seem to be ideal situations for Winfield. Contenders that could use an upgrade at slot corner are the Ravens, Texans, and Saints.
Ray Rice (hip) officially limited Wednesday 09-25-2013
Ray Rice RB BAL
Ray Rice (hip) was officially limited in Wednesday's practice. Rice said he expects to play this week. The Ravens will take it slow with Rice and see how he looks throughout the practice week. He'll likely be another game-time decision up through the weekend. Whoever gets the start in the Baltimore backfield is a must-start against Buffalo's 30th-ranked run defense.
Andre Johnson (shin) 'very sore,' will be GTD 09-25-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Coach Gary Kubiak said Andre Johnson (shin) is "very sore" and will be a game-time decision for Sunday's Week 4 game against the Seahawks.

Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
Johnson didn't practice on Wednesday. By the sound of Kubiak, it doesn't sound like Johnson will practice much -- if at all -- this week. At less than 100 percent against the league's top secondary, Johnson won't be much more than a WR2. The two teams kick off at 1 PM ET, so we'll know Johnson's status early Sunday.
Bucs WR Mike Williams doesn't practice Wed. 09-25-2013
Mike Williams WR BUF
Mike Williams (hamstring) did not participate in Bucs practice Wednesday.

Rick Stroud on Twitter
Williams missed some time in last week's loss to the Patriots before returning, so this likely stems from that. He'll be a WR3 this week if he suits up.
No practice for Vincent Jackson on Wednesday 09-25-2013
Vincent Jackson WR TB
Vincent Jackson (rib) did not participate in practice Wednesday.

Rick Stroud on Twitter
Jackson exited last week's game against the Patriots after playing just 42-of-71 snaps. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the injury is "not considered serious," and that Jackson was day-to-day. V-Jax is so close to breaking out. He had a 73-yard touchdown called back in Week 2, and then dropped a potential score last week before leaving. He'll be a borderline WR1 this week if he suits up. Check back for another Jackson update on Thursday.
Burleson (arm) hope to be playing by November 09-25-2013
Nate Burleson WR CLE
ESPN's Ed Werder reports Nate Burleson (broken arm) hopes to be playing in November "at the latest."

Ed Werder on Twitter
Burleson had successful surgery on his broken arm Wednesday. The Detroit News speculated he'd face a 6-8 week recovery timetable, so that falls in line with the November assessment. The Lions will try to make do with Ryan Broyles and Patrick Edwards in three-wide sets along with Calvin Johnson. Burleson was fantasy's No. 42 overall receiver in standard leagues after three weeks.
Report: Amendola (groin) unlikely for Week 4 09-25-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
The Boston Herald seconds ESPN's Chris Mortensen and reports Danny Amendola (groin) is unlikely to play this week against the Falcons.

Karen Guregian on Twitter
"I anticipate being 100 percent shortly," Amendola said Wednesday. Beat writer Karen Guregian "wouldn't completely rule out" Amendola suiting up for Sunday night's game against the Falcons, but suggests he has a "better shot" of playing next week against the Bengals. Amendola was limited in practice Wednesday.
Lions claim DT D'Anthony Smith off waivers 09-25-2013
D'Anthony Smith DT SEA
Lions claimed DT D'Anthony Smith off waivers from the Seahawks.

Adam Caplan on Twitter
Fellow DT Justin Bannan was released in a corresponding move. A third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2010, Smith, 25, made five tackles in two games with Seattle. He'll provide depth behind starters Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.
Julio Jones limited Wednesday, as usual 09-25-2013
Julio Jones WR ATL
Julio Jones (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. This is becoming the norm. Julio is locked in a top-four receiver this week.
Percy Harvin (hip) back in New York rehabbing 09-25-2013
Percy Harvin WR NYJ
Coach Pete Carroll said Percy Harvin (hip surgery) has been sent back to New York to continue his rehab.

Seattle Times
"He's back in New York rehabbing and we're making sure that we really do everything just right," Carroll said. "He was very positive about how he's coming back. We want to make sure we do a great job and support it in every way. We've made a couple of choices to send him back and he's doing great. Don't know that that means in terms of a time line." Harvin tweeted earlier in the month to "keep an eye" on Week 7 for his return, but Week 10 or 11 seems more likely. The Seahawks haven't commented much at all on his timetable.
Lions release veteran DT Justin Bannan 09-25-2013
Justin Bannan DE DET
Lions released DT Justin Bannan.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
Bannan, 34, played 29 snaps the first three weeks after being signed in mid-August. The 13-year veteran is nearing the end of the line.
Chris Givens probable for Thursday night 09-25-2013
Chris Givens WR STL
Chris Givens (knee) is listed as probable for Thursday night's Week 4 tilt with the 49ers. Givens sat out of practice on Monday but got in two "full" sessions Tuesday and Wednesday. He'll be all systems go. Givens was suspended for one game against San Francisco last season. He caught 11 passes for 92 yards in the other. Treat Givens as a WR4 this week against a top-eight pass defense.
Daryl Richardson (foot) officially probable 09-25-2013
Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
Daryl Richardson (foot) is officially listed as probable for Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers. Richardson practiced in full the past two days and has reportedly had more "spring to his step" this week. We'd shy away from Richardson this week unless you're in a bye-week crunch. Richardson will likely split snaps with Isaiah Pead.
Mendenhall (toe) limited on Wednesday 09-25-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Rashard Mendenhall (toe) was limited in Cardinals practice Wednesday.

Darren Urban on Twitter
Mendenhall, like teammate Larry Fitzgerald, missed most of the practice week ahead of Week 3 versus the Saints but still suited up. He'll be all systems go against the Bucs on Sunday. Mendenhall is a low-end flex option for Week 4.
Larry Fitzgerald practicing in full this week 09-25-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) is practicing in full this week.

Darren Urban on Twitter
Fitzgerald missed much of the practice week leading up to last Sunday's game against the Saints, but the hamstring wasn't an issue in the loss and is now in the rear-view mirror. He'll likely see a lot of Darrelle Revis this week against the Bucs. Fitzgerald is 100 percent, but treat him as a back-end WR1.
Rodger Saffold (knee) officially ruled out 09-25-2013
Rodger Saffold G STL
Rams RT Rodger Saffold (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers.

Nick Wagoner on Twitter
Saffold has yet to resume practicing and remains week-to-week. Joe Barksdale will continue to start in his absence.
Tracy Porter (concussion) cleared to practice 09-25-2013
Tracy Porter CB WAS
Raiders CB Tracy Porter (concussion) is practicing Wednesday. Porter suffered a concussion in the third quarter of Monday night's game, but was able to practice on a limited basis. He's on track to gain full medical clearance for Week 4 against the Redskins.
Pryor cleared for activity, not practice yet 09-25-2013
Terrelle Pryor QB SEA
Terrelle Pryor (concussion) has been cleared for physical activity but not practice.

Vic Tafur on Twitter
It's a sign that Pryor's progressing through protocol quickly. He could easily return to practice on a limited basis Thursday or Friday and start Sunday against the Redskins. We'll have plenty of updates on Pryor throughout the week. He'd be a nice bye-week fill-in for Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton owners.
Champ Bailey (foot) limited on Wednesday 09-25-2013
Champ Bailey CB NO
Broncos LCB Champ Bailey (foot) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Bailey was a game-time decision last week before ultimately being ruled out. He's expected to make his regular season debut Sunday against the Eagles.
Britt dealing with neck, shoulder soreness 09-25-2013
Kenny Britt WR STL
Updating a previous item, Kenny Britt did not practice Wednesday due to shoulder, neck, and ribs soreness from a "hard fall" he took in Week 3.

Jim Wyatt on Twitter
Britt is expected to continue to lose snaps to second-round rookie Justin Hunter opposite Kendall Wright. He's not a start-able fantasy player.
McKelvin (hamstring) could practice Thursday 09-25-2013
Leodis McKelvin CB BUF
Updating a previous item, Bills LCB Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

WGR 550 Buffalo
McKelvin is dealing with a hamstring injury and is considered day-to-day. He's expected to resume practicing Thursday.
Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) not practicing Wed. 09-25-2013
Ahmad Bradshaw RB IND
Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) did not participate in Colts practice Wednesday.

Mike Chappell on Twitter
Coming off a 22-touch, 111-yard, one-touchdown effort against the 49ers last week, Bradshaw and Trent Richardson are expected to split the load against the Jaguars again in Week 4. Bradshaw will on the flex radar if he suits up.
Bolts LT Dunlap (concussion) not practicing 09-25-2013
King Dunlap OT SD
Chargers LT King Dunlap (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
Dunlap exited last week's loss to the Titans late in the fourth quarter with the concussion. LG Chad Rinehart (foot) has already been ruled out for this week against the Cowboys, while RG Jeromey Clary (clavicle) also isn't practicing this week. Michael Harris is Dunlap's backup. If you recall, Harris gave up ten sacks last season. DeMarcus Ware may have a field day.
Manti Te'o (foot) on track to make NFL debut 09-25-2013
Manti Te'o LB SD
Chargers ILB Manti Te'o (foot) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
Te'o resumed practicing last week, but was ruled inactive for the third straight game. He's now on track to make his regular season debut Sunday against the Cowboys.
Marlon Brown (neck) not practicing Wednesday 09-25-2013
Marlon Brown WR BAL
Marlon Brown (neck) did not participate in Ravens practice Wednesday.

Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter
Brown played his full complement of snaps in Week 3 but caught just two passes for six yards. We have no reason to believe the injury is serious. Keep an eye on Brown throughout the week. He's a WR4 this week in Buffalo.
Le'Veon Bell (foot) practices fully Wednesday 09-25-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
Le'Veon Bell (foot) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Bob Labriola on Twitter
It was his first full practice of the season. Barring a setback, Bell is expected to make his NFL debut this week. He should immediately regain his every-down role and is on the RB2/FLEX radar for Sunday's matchup with the Vikings.
'Law Firm' limited in practice Wednesday 09-25-2013
BenJarvus Green-Ellis RB CIN
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (ankle) was limited in Bengals practice Wednesday.

Joe Reedy on Twitter
Green-Ellis is on track to play this week against the Browns, but his snaps will continue to decrease due to Giovani Bernard's impressive start. The Law Firm is averaging just 2.8 YPC through three weeks. What little fantasy value he had has just about dried up. Green-Ellis is off the flex radar.
Mort: Bucs would 'take anything' for Freeman 09-25-2013
Josh Freeman QB NYG
On NFL Live Wednesday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen suggested benched QB Josh Freeman's trade value is zilch. "They would probably take anything for him at this point," Mortensen stated. In addition to poor performance, Freeman carries a fully guaranteed $8.43 million base salary that any team would have to take on if they acquired him via trade. That's barring an in-season restructure/extension, which would seem awfully unlikely. This year's NFL trade deadline is October 29.
Seahawks DT Hill (biceps) back at practice 09-25-2013
Jordan Hill DT SEA
Seahawks DT Jordan Hill (biceps) returned to practice Wednesday.

John Boyle on Twitter

Jason Spitz C SEA
Seahawks signed G/C Jason Spitz, formerly of the Jaguars.

Bob Condotta on Twitter
Spitz, 30, and Seahawks GM John Schneider are familiar with each other from their days together in Green Bay. Spitz missed all of 2012 with a foot injury and was released by the Jaguars in mid-August. He's pure depth in Seattle.
Marcedes Lewis (calf) limited in practice 09-25-2013
Marcedes Lewis TE JAX
Marcedes Lewis (calf) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday.

John Oehser on Twitter
Lewis missed the first three games with a calf injury, but is on track to return in Week 4. He isn't on the TE2 radar for Sunday's matchup with the Colts.
Gus Bradley: Gabbert needs to take chances 09-25-2013
Blaine Gabbert QB SF
Coach Gus Bradley said he wants Blaine Gabbert to take more chances and not be as conservative.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
Gabbert has a career 5.5 YPA average and 53.4 percent completion rate on 726 passing attempts, signaling that he's not completing many passes and not taking many shots down the field when he is completing them. The offensive line is partly to blame, but Gabbert sees ghosts in the pocket and checks down with the best of them. Cecil Shorts' fantasy value takes a hit with Gabbert's reinsertion into the lineup. Gabbert averaged a pitiful 3.5 YPA in Week 1.
Jags WR Burton has concussion symptoms 09-25-2013
Stephen Burton WR JAX
Jaguars WR Stephen Burton (concussion-like symptoms) did not practice Wednesday.

Mark Long on Twitter
Burton, claimed off waivers from the Vikings ahead of Week 1, saw nine targets in last week's loss to the Seahawks. The Jaguars are very thin at receiver with Burton, Mike Brown (back), and Justin Blackmon (suspended) unavailable.

Mikel Leshoure: 'I just want to play' 09-25-2013
Mikel LeShoure RB DET
Mikel Leshoure said he feels "like I'm better than a reserve player and I have more to give."

Detroit Free Press
"I just want to play," Leshoure said. "I want to play. Like I said before, there's a lot of speculation just because of the fact that I'm not on the field and people just wondering what's going on. But I want to play, and that's it." With Reggie Bush (knee) inactive last week, Leshoure was a game day active but played zero snaps behind Joique Bell and Theo Riddick. Leshoure is reportedly "wide open" to being traded, but the Lions "quickly rebuffed" trade offers from the Colts last week and from other interested teams in training camp.
Patrick Chung (shoulder) still not practicing 09-25-2013
Patrick Chung S NE
Eagles FS Patrick Chung (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. Chung is still dealing with a left shoulder injury and has yet to practice. His status for Week 4 is up in the air. The Eagles will go with rookie Earl Wolff at free safety if Chung is held out.

Charles Tillman CB CHI
Bears CB Charles Tillman (groin, knee) is not practicing Wednesday.

Sio Moore LB OAK
Raiders rookie SLB Sio Moore (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday. Moore suffered a concussion in a car accident Saturday and was held out of Week 3, but has officially been cleared to practice. Steve Corkran on Twitter
Pryor is still undergoing tests after leaving Monday night's game late in the fourth quarter and hasn't been cleared to practice. His status remains uncertain for Week 4. Matt Flynn will take all the first-team reps in his absence and is in line to make his first start. Pryor would be a strong QB2 option against the Redskins if he manages to avoid being held out.
Andre Johnson (shin) not practicing Wednesday 09-25-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson (shin) did not participate in Texans practice Wednesday.

Tania Ganguli on Twitter
Johnson is considered day-to-day after test results came back negative. He was kneed in the leg by Ravens ILB Josh Bynes in Sunday's Week 3 loss. The Texans aren't going to rush Johnson out there on a Wednesday. We'd expect him to play this week against Seattle. Johnson is a borderline WR1 for Week 4.
Chiefs TE Fasano (ankle) not practicing 09-25-2013
Anthony Fasano TE KC
Anthony Fasano (ankle) remained sidelined at Chiefs practice Wednesday.

Adam Teicher on Twitter

Report: Browns also not interested in Freeman 09-25-2013
Josh Freeman QB NYG
Profootballtalk.com reports the Browns are also not interested in acquiring Bucs QB Josh Freeman.

Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
The Browns are going to continue to roll with Brian Hoyer and possibly Brandon Weeden if he ever gets his job back. Freeman's contract is the biggest hurdle in any possible deal. He's due $6.44 million from Week 5 through Week 17. We really can't see any team trading for Freeman. He'll be a free agent in 2014.
LaRon Landry (ankle) still not practicing 09-25-2013

Panthers fourth-round OG Edmund Kugbila (injured reserve) will undergo knee surgery.

Joe Person on Twitter
Kugbila was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a hamstring injury on August 27. Since he's out for the year, Kugbila might as well just have the knee cleaned up so he can come back 100 percent next spring.
Roddy White (ankle) held out of practice 09-25-2013
Roddy White WR ATL
Roddy White (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday.

D. Orlando Ledbetter on Twitter
White played on a season-high 47-of-66 snaps in Sunday's loss, so it's likely just a rest day. He didn't report any setbacks and should return to practice later this week. White isn't involved enough on offense right now to be trusted in fantasy lineups. He may not get back to his normal self until after the Falcons' Week 6 bye.
Steven Jackson remains sidelined for Falcons 09-25-2013
Steven Jackson RB ATL

Report: Jags not interested in Josh Freeman 09-25-2013
Josh Freeman QB NYG
The Associated Press reports the Jaguars have "zero interest" in acquiring benched Bucs QB Josh Freeman.

Mark Long on Twitter
Not surprising. As former Rotoworld employee Chris Wesseling points out, the Jaguars are the one team with the need and cap space to swing a deal for Freeman but why would they want to trade a draft pick and take themselves out of contention for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft. It wouldn't make sense. The Jaguars aren't a quarterback, especially a mediocre one like Freeman, away from being good. Freeman will likely finish the year in Tampa Bay.
McKelvin (hamstring) limited on Wednesday 09-25-2013
Leodis McKelvin CB BUF
Bills LCB Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

buffalobills.com

Falcons LT Sam Baker remains sidelined 09-25-2013
Sam Baker OT ATL
Falcons LT Sam Baker (knee, foot) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

D. Orlando Ledbetter on Twitter
Baker missed Week 3 against the Dolphins. Lamar Holmes moved over from right tackle to Matt Ryan's blindside. Report: Gronk 60-40 to face Falcons on SNF 09-25-2013
Rob Gronkowski TE NE
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on SportsCenter Rob Gronkowski (back) is more likely than not to make his season debut Sunday night in Atlanta. "He's probably ready to play," said Mort. "... I think they're leaning 60-40 he's playing this week." Mortensen did say Gronk looks noticeably thinner on practice video, probably because he hasn't been in the weight room as much while rehabbing back and forearm surgeries. It's still possible the 3-0 Pats hold Gronkowski out one more game. Stay tuned. We'll have updates all week.
Greg Little the Browns' new kick returner 09-25-2013
Greg Little WR CIN
Greg Little will serve as the Browns' kick returner for the second week in a row.

Scott Petrak on Twitter
Little returned one kick for 26 yards last week against Minnesota. Now that he's been demoted out of the starting lineup on offense, the Browns are just trying to find a use for the 2011 second-round pick. It's also fair to wonder if the Browns are doing this in an effort to showcase him ahead of the trade deadline.
Mort: Amendola likely to miss Wk 4 at Atlanta 09-25-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on SportsCenter Wednesday that Danny Amendola (groin) is unlikely to play Sunday night against Atlanta. "I'd be really surprised if Danny Amendola came back soon," said Mort. "Don't count on it." Although Amendola is moving better this week, he's battling torn adductor tendons in his groin and won't be rushed back by a 3-0 team. Look for Julian Edelman to continue to pile up targets on Sunday Night Football.
Browns RG Lauvao (ankle) begins practicing 09-25-2013
Shawn Lauvao G WAS
Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.

Jeff Schudel on Twitter
It's his first time practicing the season. Lauvao missed three games after undergoing ankle surgery in early August, but is now on track to play in Week 4. He'll immediately regain his starting job from fill-in Oniel Cousins.
Shonn Greene won't play Week 4 09-25-2013
Shonn Greene RB TEN
Shonn Greene (knee) will not play in Sunday's game against the Jets.

Ray Rice (hip) expects to return for Week 4 09-25-2013
Ray Rice RB BAL
Ray Rice (hip) will practice Wednesday and he said he expects to play in Sunday's Week 4 game at Buffalo.

Aaron Wilson on Twitter
So far, the Ravens are only saying they're hopeful Rice will return for Sunday. They likely want to get a look at how he looks in practice this week. No matter who is getting carries on Sunday for the Ravens, they should expect to have success. Buffalo's defense is completely ravaged by injuries and ranks 30th in the league vs. the run this season.
Fred Davis says he has high-ankle sprain 09-25-2013
Fred Davis TE WAS
Fred Davis says he has a high ankle sprain, but is aiming to play in Week 4.

Mike Jones on Twitter
Davis sustained the injury during last Friday's practice and was inactive in Week 3. If he truly has a high ankle sprain, he'd be very doubtful for Week 4. Meanwhile, Jordan Reed's (quad) status remains murky.
Marcedes Lewis to practice Wednesday 09-25-2013
Marcedes Lewis TE JAX
Marcedes Lewis (calf) will practice Wednesday.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
Lewis hasn't played since the first preseason game. He'll quickly resume an every-down role, but his quarterback is Blaine Gabbert. There's scant TE2 appeal here.
Miles Austin (hamstring) sitting out practice 09-25-2013
Miles Austin WR CLE
Miles Austin (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.

ESPN Dallas
The Cowboys are insisting that Austin's latest pull is not anything near as severe as the ones he's battled the last couple years. In fact, coach Jason Garrett claims Austin was pulled out of Week 3 as a mere precaution. However, given the player's history, it's hard to take them at their word. Consider Austin questionable for Sunday's dream matchup with the Chargers. His direct backup is rookie Terrance Williams.
C.J. Spiller pracitcing on Wednesday 09-25-2013
C.J. Spiller RB BUF
C.J. Spiller (quad) is practicing Wednesday.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
Spiller will likely end up limited, but he's fully expected to play against the Ravens Sunday.
Ricky Jean-Francois will be out 1-2 weeks 09-25-2013
Ricky Jean-Francois DT IND
Colts DT Ricky Jean-Francois (groin) will be out 1-2 weeks.

Craig Kelley on Twitter
Jean-Francois, the Colts $22 million free-agent pickup, dominated against the Raiders in Week 1 and then got run over by the Dolphins in Week 2. The Colts have signed Lawrence Guy to give them some depth on the defensive line while RJF heals.
Colts say RB rotation will stay even for now 09-25-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
Coach Chuck Pagano said the running back rotation for Sunday's game at Jacksonville will be the same as it was in Week 3.

Craig Kelley on Twitter
Against San Francisco, Trent Richardson had 13 touches and played 29 snaps. Ahmad Bradshaw got 22 touches on his 38 snaps. The Colts can talk up an even timeshare all they want, but they gave up a first-round pick to acquire Richardson for a reason. Once he's up to speed in the playbook, he's going to flash far more difference-making ability than Bradshaw. He's the one that will get the "hot hand" that Pagano said he wants. Both backs are good bets to shred the Jags this week and Richardson will be leading this committee by a wide margin soon enough.
Ravens hopeful Ray Rice will resume practice 09-25-2013

Calvin Johnson sitting out practice 09-25-2013
Calvin Johnson WR DET
Calvin Johnson (undisclosed) is not practicing Wednesday.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
Over the past few seasons, Johnson has rarely practiced on Wednesdays. He hasn't missed a game since 2010. Consider this a rest day for the league's best wideout.
Patrick Edwards practicing on Wednesday 09-25-2013
Patrick Edwards WR DET
Patrick Edwards (ankle) is practicing Wednesday.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
The Lions didn't make any wide receiver signings in the wake of Nate Burleson's injury, so it looks like they expect Edwards to be a go. We wouldn't expect any heroics. Burleson was an inside receiver, a role that will be filled by Ryan Broyles, Tony Scheffler and Brandon Pettigrew. Edwards remains an outside receiver opposite Calvin Johnson and shouldn't expect a big bump in targets.
Reggie Bush (knee) back in practice Wednesday 09-25-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Reggie Bush (knee) is practicing Wednesday.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
Per beat writer Dave Birkett, Bush had a sleeve on his left knee but otherwise showed "no signs" of the injury that kept him out of Week 3. It puts him firmly on track to start Sunday's game against the Bears. In the two games that Bush has been active so far this season, Joique Bell has averaged 12.0 touches. Bush has averaged 18.5.
Stevie Johnson not practicing Wednesday 09-25-2013
Steve Johnson WR SF
Stevie Johnson (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
Johnson played on 89.6 percent of the Week 3 snaps and didn't appear to get injured, so this is likely just a rest day.
Anthony Armstrong gets workout with Lions 09-25-2013
Anthony Armstrong WR CLE
Lions worked out free agent WRs Anthony Armstrong, Charles Hawkins and Lavelle Hawkins Tuesday.

Profootballtalk on NBCSports.com
None of the trio were immediately signed, suggesting that the Lions are comfortable going to battle with Calvin Johnson, Patrick Edwards (ankle) and Ryan Broyles (knees) Sunday. Even if one of these three does get signed, they'd be playing an outside role for Detroit. They wouldn't affect slot man Ryan Broyles' potential production.
Steve Smith has a hip pointer 09-25-2013
Steve Smith WR BAL
The injury sustained by Steve Smith in Week 3 is being called a hip pointer.

Joseph Person on Twitter
The Panthers don't sound concerned at all, especially because they're heading into a bye week. We expect 89 to resume practicing ahead of Week 5. Smith has missed a total of eight games over the last nine seasons.
Dan Williams won't play Week 4 09-25-2013
Dan Williams DT ARZ
Cardinals NT Dan Williams (personal) will not play in Sunday's Week 4 game against the Bucs.

Darren Urban on Twitter
Williams' father was tragically killed in a car accident while driving to see his son play against the Saints last week. The funeral is this weekend.
Daryl Richardson looking good at practice 09-25-2013
Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
Daryl Richardson (foot) has reportedly had more "spring to his step" during practice this week.

St Louis Post-Dispatch
Richardson's injury is confusing because he lasted just two snaps in Week 3, but is practicing in full just a couple days later. It's impossible to know if he'll be limited against the Niners on Thursday night. We suspect Isaiah Pead will be mixed in plenty, leaving both guys as risky flex plays even though San Francisco will be without Patrick Willis (groin) and Aldon Smith (personal).
Anthony Spencer lands on IR 09-25-2013

Browns K Billy Cundiff (quad) is not practicing Wednesday.

Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter
Cundiff is questionable for this week's game against the Bengals. He shouldn't have been on any fantasy rosters anyway. Dolphins K Caleb Sturgis is a reasonable plug-n-play for owners.
Brandon Weeden ruled out for Week 4 09-25-2013
Brandon Weeden QB DAL
Brandon Weeden (thumb) has been ruled out for Week 4.

Scott Petrak on Twitter
Weeden is expected to begin throwing later this week, making Week 5 a possibility for his return. But beat writers covering the Browns believe that the starting quarterback job is now Brian Hoyer's to lose. Weeden should secretly be hoping for Hoyer to faceplant against the Bengals Sunday.
Brian Hoyer to start for Browns again Week 4 09-25-2013
Brian Hoyer QB CLE
Brian Hoyer will start Sunday's Week 4 game against the Bengals.

Scott Petrak on Twitter
Brandon Weeden (thumb) isn't healed yet, so the Browns are not forced to make a decision. It's another chance for Hoyer steal away the starting job permanently. Last week, he completed 30-of-54 passes for 321 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. It was an uneven performance, but Hoyer moved the chains and got the Browns a rare win while highlighting Josh Gordon to the tune of 19 targets. The test will be much stiffer this week as the Bengals feature one of the league's most talented defenses. They held Aaron Rodgers to 244 yards with one touchdown and two picks last week.

Danny Amendola is moving better this week 09-25-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
Danny Amendola (groin) is reportedly moving better this week than last.

Mike Reiss on Twitter
Amendola was in full pads and working during Wednesday's practice. One of the toughest yet most injury-prone players in the league, he at least has a shot to play in Sunday night's game against the Falcons. Amendola completely tore the adductor longus tendon in his groin during Week 1, but will not need surgery and has no sports hernia.

Bengals CB Leon Hall pulled his hamstring during the Week 3 win over the Packers.

Cincinnati Enquirer
Hall's status for this week's game against the Browns is uncertain, which is one of the reasons the Bengals signed Chris Crocker Wednesday. Hall typically lines up against opponents' slot receivers.
Tony Scheffler's role set to grow? 09-25-2013
Tony Scheffler TE DET
The Detroit News expects Tony Scheffler's role to grow in the wake of Nate Burleson's injury.

Detroit News
Scheffler is move tight end that has seen just three targets in three games this season. In the 10 games following Burleson's broken leg last season, Scheffler averaged 3.1 catches for 35.8 yards and scored one touchdown. Similar production is within reach this time around.
Lions won't put Broyles on a 'leash' Sunday 09-25-2013
Ryan Broyles WR DET
According to the Detroit News, "there will be no leash" on Ryan Broyles (knees) this week.

Detroit News
Broyles was on a pitch count in Week 3 as he made his season debut, seeing just 17 snaps. But with Nate Burleson (arm) out and Patrick Edwards (ankle) in doubt, the Lions can't afford any kind of snap limitations against the Bears Sunday. Barring any setbacks, Broyles is going to play in all three-wide sets as the slot receiver -- giving him plenty of PPR upside. "I am definitely ready. I feel good," he said.
Chris Greenwood signed by Cowboys 09-25-2013
Chris Greenwood CB DET
Cowboys signed CB Chris Greenwood off the Lions practice squad.

Leonard Hankerson sliding ahead of Morgan 09-25-2013
Leonard Hankerson WR WAS
Leonard Hankerson played on 54 snaps in Week 3, compared to 24 for Josh Morgan.

Washington Post
After alternating for much of the offseason and the preseason, Hankerson is finally starting to pull away. He's started in each of the past two weeks and the Week 3 snap count differential represents a season-high. It's enough to put Hankerson on watch lists, but the "Z" spot in the Skins offense is not typically a productive one. Over the last two weeks, Hankerson has totaled six catches for 56 yards and no touchdowns.
DeAngelo Williams Chud leaving is the key 09-25-2013
DeAngelo Williams RB CAR
DeAngelo Williams said the departure of former OC Rob Chudzinski is the reason he's running well so far this season.

ESPN.com
Williams hated Chud's shotgun scheme and love that the Panthers are running more of a base offense under new OC Mike Shula. Through three weeks, Williams is third in the NFL in rushing yards (291) and tied for fourth in attempts (62). Of course, he's losing goal-line work to Mike Tolbert/Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart (ankles) is expected back for Week 7. It's a good time to sell high on DeAngelo.
Big Ben skeptical on Le'Veon Bell 09-25-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
Ben Roethlisberger expressed skepticism Tuesday on Le'Veon Bell's potential impact.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
"Honestly, I have no idea with him," Roethlisberger said. "You can't get a read on him. One day, he's practicing, one day, he's not; one day, he's going hard, the next day, he's not. I wish I could. ... If he was a guy like Heath Miller that you knew was busting his butt every day to get back there ... Le'Veon is a rookie, I don't know him quite well enough yet. But if he can come back and help us, we'll take him." It's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but if Bell's foot is truly 100 percent then we'd expect him to change Roethlisberger's mind quickly. The second-round pick is clearly the best talent in the Steelers RB room, and it's not close.
Panthers happy Cam found his legs 09-25-2013
Cam Newton QB CAR
Coach Ron Rivera said it was a good thing that Cam Newton found his running legs in Week 3.

Charlotte Observer
Newton rushed seven times for 45 yards with a touchdown in Week 3 and the Panthers won for the first time all season. It's not a coincidence. Newton gets into the flow of the game when he's encouraged to use his legs and his Week 3 usage is a great sign for his fantasy value going forward. Offensive coordinator Mike Shula now has a blueprint for how his quarterback should be used.

Christian Ponder uncertain due to rib injury 09-25-2013
Christian Ponder QB MIN
Christian Ponder revealed his Week 4 status is uncertain due to a rib injury sustained against the Browns.

Pioneer Press on Twitter
The injury can't be too serious as Ponder finished out the Week 3 loss and was able to throw in Wednesday's walkthrough. But rib issues are tricky because any contact can be extremely painful and cause aggravations. "If I can't fulfill my duties, then Matt (Cassel) is going to step in and play," Ponder said. There has already been whispers that Ponder isn't on a short leash this season and the Vikings are actually high on Cassel. Sunday's game against the Steelers in London starts at 1pm ET.
Fox: Hillman was getting GL carry regardless 09-25-2013
Ronnie Hillman RB DEN
Coach John Fox says Ronnie Hillman was getting the much-discussed Week 3 goal-line carry no matter what.

ESPN.com
There is video of Hillman, Montee Ball and Knowshon Moreno playing rock-paper-scissors right before the Broncos lined up at the 1-yard line on Monday night. But Fox told everyone to get off his lawn Tuesday. "That's just stuff for people who like to get on TV and have something to talk about," he said. "I mean, Ronnie Hillman was going back in the game, that had nothing to do with that, it was just trying to have fun I guess. Ronnie was going in the ballgame. We decide that, that had nothing to do with it." Fox's claim holds water because in the video, it looks like Moreno actually won the roshambo. Denver's three-headed committee doesn't have a set goal-line back.

Giants signed FB John Conner. The Terminator lives. Conner, famous for his roles on two separate seasons of Hard Knocks, is on to replace Henry Hynoski. The Hynoceros sustained a fractured shoulder against the Panthers in Week 3.
