Pryor injured late in MNF loss to Broncos 09-23-2013
Terrelle Pryor WR CLE
Terrelle Pryor completed 19-of-28 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown in Monday night's Week 3, 37-21 loss to the Broncos before leaving late in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury.
Peyton Manning picks apart Raiders in MNF win 09-23-2013
Peyton Manning QB DEN
Peyton Manning completed 32-of-37 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns in Monday night's Week 3, 37-21 win over the Raiders. The game wasn't as close as the box score suggests. Manning and the Broncos' offense had their way with the Raiders' secondary. Oakland couldn't generate any pressure with their four-man front. Any time they sent extra defenders, Manning knew where they were coming from and found his open receiver. He was sacked just once on the night but lost a fumble in the red zone on the play. Peyton's three scores went to Eric Decker, Wes Welker, and Julius Thomas. It was just another day at the office. The Broncos host the Eagles next Sunday.
Report: Le'Veon Bell (foot) to play Week 4 09-23-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to play Week 4 against the Vikings.

Jay Glazer on Twitter
Per Glazer, the Steelers' original plan was to hold Bell out through the Week 5 bye and have him return for Week 6 against the Jets. The second-round back "progressed faster" than the Steelers thought he would, so he's going to play this week as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks. How much Bell actually plays will be the major question. We'd expect him to lead the team in carries this week, but Isaac Redman, Felix Jones, and Jonathan Dwyer could be worked in until Bell gets back to 100 percent. Bell will be on the flex radar this week, while the other three are safe to drop if they found their way onto your roster.
Cards work out free agent DE Mark Anderson 09-23-2013
Mark Anderson DE BUF
Free agent DE/OLB Mark Anderson worked out for the Cardinals.

Howard Balzer on Twitter
Anderson was released by the Bills in July and hasn't generated any interest until now. The Cardinals lost outside linebackers Lorenzo Alexander and Sam Acho to injured reserve Monday. Anderson has never played in a 3-4 scheme.
Dolphins work out five veteran cornerbacks 09-23-2013
Ronald Bartell CB DET
The Dolphins worked out free agent CB Ron Bartell.

Howard Balzer on Twitter
A handful of veteran free-agent cornerbacks were in Miami for the workout. Jacob Lacey, Terrence McGee, Demarcus Van Dyke, and Ryan Mouton joined Bartell. The Dolphins are dealing with injuries to Dimitri Patterson and Jamar Taylor.
Raiders CB Porter leaves with head injury 09-23-2013
Tracy Porter CB CHI
Raiders RCB Tracy Porter left Monday night's Week 3 game against the Broncos with a head injury. Porter was hurt while tackling Demaryius Thomas on the final play of the third quarter. Phillip Adams is the next man up in the Oakland secondary.
Broncos SS Ihenacho exits with ankle injury 09-23-2013
Duke Ihenacho SS WAS
Broncos SS Duke Ihenacho exited Monday night's Week 3 game against the Raiders with an ankle injury and will not return. Ihenacho left in the third quarter with the Broncos up comfortably 30-7. He injured his ankle in Week 2 against the Giants and was carted off the field, so it could be an aggravation. Mike Adams is the next man up at strong safety.
Vernon Davis (hamstring) limited on Monday 09-23-2013
Vernon Davis TE WAS
Vernon Davis (hamstring) was limited in 49ers practice Monday. The 49ers play on Thursday night in St. Louis. ESPN's Bill Williamson suggested the 49ers deactivated Davis in Week 3 against the Colts because they wanted him to be ready for the Rams on a short week. He looks likely to play.
Daryl Richardson: 'I'm good to go' for Week 4 09-23-2013
Daryl Richardson RB JAX
Daryl Richardson (foot) said he'll be "good to go" for Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers.
Richardson played just two snaps in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys before spending the rest of the day on the sideline. He had his foot stepped on by George Selvie. "I'm good to go for Thursday," Richardson said. "It's a little [frustrating] but you have got to just keep praying and treating it because when it's time to go, you've got to be ready to go." Richardson will be nothing more than a flex option. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham will also get reps.
Broncos CB Tony Carter injures ankle on MNF 09-23-2013
Tony Carter CB NO
Broncos CB Tony Carter exited Monday night's Week 3 game against the Raiders with an ankle injury and is questionable to return. Carter is the Broncos' No. 3 corner with Champ Bailey (foot) out. He was injured on a first-quarter punt. Rookie Kayvon Webster will see more snaps.
Titans DE Wimbley played just six snaps Sun. 09-23-2013
Kamerion Wimbley LB TEN
Titans DE Kamerion Wimbley played just six defensive snaps in Week 3.

Nashville Tennessean
Wimbley, who carries a $5.8 million cap number in the second year of a five-year, $35 million deal, has played just 59-of-192 defensive snaps after three games. The Titans said they were going to reduce Wimbley's snaps this season after he struggled against the run in 2012, but he hasn't been much more than a spectator. Fellow backups Keyunta Dawson (9) and Karl Klug (9) each played more snaps in Week 3. Wimbley is looking like a lock to be cut in 2014.
James Starks (knee) underwent MRI on Monday 09-23-2013
James Starks RB GB
James Starks (knee) underwent an MRI on Monday. Starks' knee got "bent up the wrong way, got twisted up" in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He thinks his ligaments may have been strained, though the results of the MRI have yet to be revealed. The Packers are entering their bye week, so he'll have two weeks to get ready. Eddie Lacy (concussion) should be back for Week 5. Starks will be a pure handcuff option thereafter.
Report: Steven Jackson likely out til Week 7 09-23-2013
Steven Jackson RB NE
ESPN's Falcons writer Vaughn McClure reports Steven Jackson is actually dealing with a hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined until Week 7.
Jackson's injury has been classified as a thigh issue for the past week. It could be a typo, but McClure notes the injury was "originally called a thigh injury" in his post. The Falcons host the Patriots next Sunday before hosting the Jets the following week. They have their bye in Week 6 before welcoming the Bucs to town in Week 7. Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling filled in admirably for Jackson against the Dolphins. Those two will continue to split the load for the foreseeable future. Jackson owners just need to wait it out.
Daryl Richardson (foot) limited on Monday 09-23-2013
Daryl Richardson RB JAX
Daryl Richardson (foot) was limited in Rams practice Monday. Richardson's Week 4 status versus the 49ers on Thursday night is up in the air after he aggravated his foot injury in Sunday's blowout loss to the Cowboys. Isaiah Pead would likely get the start if Richardson is forced to sit out.
Chris Givens (knee) doesn't practice Monday 09-23-2013
Chris Givens WR PHI
Chris Givens (knee) did not participate in Rams practice Monday. The Rams practiced lightly for about an hour after getting shellacked by the Cowboys on Sunday. They released an injury report because they play Thursday night versus the 49ers. Givens played his normal amount of snaps Sunday, so we have no reason to believe the injury is serious. Keep an eye on him.
Sio Moore among Raiders' Week 3 inactives 09-23-2013
Sio Moore LB ARZ
Raiders rookie SLB Sio Moore (concussion) is inactive for Monday night's Week 3 game against the Broncos.
Champ Bailey inactive for MNF vs. Raiders 09-23-2013
Champ Bailey CB NO
Broncos LCB Champ Bailey (foot) is inactive for Monday night's Week 3 game against the Raiders. Bailey gave ESPN's Lisa Salters a "thumbs down" when Salters asked Champ if he was going to play tonight. Bailey returned to practice this past week, but he needs another week. He'll almost certainly make his season debut next Sunday against Philadelphia. Joel Dreessen (knee) is also inactive.
Report: Aldon Smith to 'miss a month or so' 09-23-2013
Aldon Smith OLB OAK
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports 49ers OLB Aldon Smith (rehab, NFI) is expected to "miss a month or so."
Eagles release CB Brandon Hughes from I.R. 09-23-2013
Brandon Hughes CB CLE
Eagles released CB Brandon Hughes with an injury settlement. Hughes broke his hand in the preseason, returned to play 22 snaps in Week 2, and then was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury last week. Hughes, 27, appeared in 31 games with the Eagles the past four seasons.
Ravens claim S Jeromy Miles 09-23-2013
Jeromy Miles S NYG
Ravens claimed S Jeromy Miles off waivers from the Bengals.

Aaron Wilson on Twitter
26-year-old Miles is a smart kid from UMass, and the Ravens may use him to gather intel on the division-rival Bengals. He can also play special teams.
Jets don't expect Ivory (hamstring) back soon 09-23-2013
Chris Ivory RB JAX
ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports the Jets don't expect Chris Ivory to rebound quickly from Sunday's hamstring pull.

Rich Cimini on Twitter
Per Cimini, the injury is to the same leg Ivory pulled his hamstring on the first day of training camp. The new injury is in a different spot, but Ivory took several weeks to recover from the initial one and probably will again this time around. The Jets have favorable matchups against the Titans and Falcons over their next two games, before squaring off with the Steelers and Patriots. Bilal Powell is going to be an every-down back.
Garrett Graham not targeted in Week 3 09-23-2013
Garrett Graham TE DEN
Garrett Graham was not targeted in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens.
Report: Pacman Jones arrested once again 09-23-2013
Adam Jones CB CIN
ABC Cleveland reports Bengals CB Pacman Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct Monday morning.

ABC Cincinnati
Unbelievable. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jones was the passenger in a car where the driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Jones apparently then made a fuss and was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. It's the second time he's been arrested in the past four months, and coupled with his infamous history, surely has him in line for a league-mandated suspension. Jones is the Bengals' nickel back. Dre Kirkpatrick is fourth on the depth chart.
Graham not responding to extension offer 09-23-2013
Jimmy Graham TE SEA
Citing multiple league sources, reports the Saints recently extended an extension offer to Jimmy Graham, but Graham's camp has not responded.

Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
Graham is absolutely shredding the league through three weeks, with four touchdowns and 358 yards. His value is at its absolute highest, so the Saints' offer would likely have to blow him away for Graham to sign now. If Graham makes it through the season without an extension, the Saints will likely slap him with the franchise tag. Graham would have a great argument to be tagged as a wide receiver rather than tight end, commanding more money.
Raiders send TE Ausberry to injured reserve 09-23-2013
David Ausberry TE DET
Raiders placed TE David Ausberry on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season. Ausberry exited the Raiders' second preseason game with a "potentially significant" shoulder injury, and hadn't practiced since. The 2011 seventh-rounder had been slated to open the year as the Raiders' starting tight end, but will instead go into his walk year with just nine career catches. The Raiders are stuck with Jeron Mastrud and rookie Mychal Rivera at tight end. Rivera has five catches through two games. Ausberry has vanishingly little Dynasty-league value.
Cardinals promote Dontay Moch 09-23-2013
Dontay Moch LB TEN
Cardinals promoted OLB Dontay Moch from their practice squad. 25-year-old Moch is a former third-round pick of the Bengals. He showed a lot of pass-rushing juice at Nevada, and is needed after Sam Acho and Lorenzo Alexander hit injured reserve. Moch has been oft-injured early in his career.
Jags waive WE Jeremy Ebert again 09-23-2013
Jeremy Ebert WR ATL
Jaguars waived WR Jeremy Ebert. G/C Jacques McClendon was re-signed in a corresponding move. This is a transaction the Jaguars make approximately once per week.
Justin Hunter to play more than Kenny Britt? 09-23-2013
Justin Hunter WR BUF
Titans OC Dowell Loggains suggested Justin Hunter may play more at the expense of Kenny Britt going forward.

Titan Insider
Ex-Rotoworld superstar Chris Wesseling has deemed Britt the NFL's worst player through three weeks. "We have a lot of faith in Justin," said Loggains. "Justin is going to be an extremely special player." As the rumor goes -- and it was essentially confirmed by Loggains -- Jake Locker personally asked for the Titans to bench Britt for Hunter on the Titans' Week 3 game-winning drive. Hunter answered the bell with a 34-yard touchdown catch.
Rams DE William Hayes has sprained MCL 09-23-2013
William Hayes DE LA
Rams DE William Hayes has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

Mike Garafolo on Twitter
Hayes was forced from Sunday's loss in the first quarter. He's week to week. Eugene Sims will fill in as the Rams' top sub behind Robert Quinn and Chris Long.
Andre Johnson (shin) considered day to day 09-23-2013
Andre Johnson WR TEN
Andre Johnson (bruised shin) is considered day to day after test results came back negative.

Texans on Twitter
The word comes straight from coach Gary Kubiak. Johnson couldn't play through the injury in Sunday's loss, but should be good to go for Week 4 with six days to heal up. He'll be dealing with the Seahawks' shutdown corner duo of Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner. Johnson has departed back-to-back games early, but is still 16th in the NFL with 258 receiving yards.
Report: Cameron Wake (knee) out 2-3 weeks 09-23-2013
Cameron Wake DE MIA
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Dolphins LE Cameron Wake (knee) will likely miss 2-3 weeks.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel
We usually don't post "reports" from the Sun-Sentinel because its football coverage is the least reliable in the nation, but several other media outlets have ran with this story. We'd just take it with a grain of salt. At one point in the "report", it's written Wake could miss "at least a week or two," and later it states Wake will "likely" be sidelined "two to three weeks." CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported earlier Wake has a "mild" MCL sprain, and is seen more as day to day. If Wake misses any time, it will be a significant blow to Miami's edge rush. The Fins travel to the Superdome in Week 4.
Ray Rice (hip) not yet ruled out for Week 4 09-23-2013
Ray Rice RB BAL
Speaking Monday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Ray Rice (hip) "could" return for Week 4 against the Bills.

Matt Vensel on Twitter
Harbaugh was noncommittal on his star running back's status, further signaling that the Ravens could be planning to hold him out until Week 5. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on having Rice against the Bills. Fill-in Bernard Pierce would have a juicy matchup in the Bills' 31st ranked run defense.
Bucs place Luke Stocker on IR 09-23-2013
Luke Stocker TE TB
Buccaneers placed TE Luke Stocker (hip) on injured reserve, ending his season. A 2011 fourth-round pick, Stocker has been a huge disappointment for a Tampa Bay organization that once envisioned him as a future starter and Jason Witten type. Stocker was completely ineffective in the two games he played this season. Stocker is signed cheaply for 2014, but may have to compete just to keep his roster spot. He's a No. 2- or No. 3-caliber NFL tight end.
SF officially places Aldon Smith on NFI list 09-23-2013
Aldon Smith OLB OAK
49ers placed OLB Aldon Smith on the reserve/NFI list.
It's unknown how long Smith will be away from the team, but it will likely be multiple weeks. "I am taking a leave of absence to address my health," Smith said in a statement. "I am sorry that I have affected my team, my family and the organization. I will do everything in my power to handle this situation the best way possible." The 49ers erred tremendously in letting Smith suit up for Sunday's game, but are finally addressing the situation with the proper seriousness.
Dwayne Gratz (ankle) sheds walking boot 09-23-2013
Dwayne Gratz CB PHI
Jaguars CB Dwayne Gratz (high-ankle sprain) has shed his walking boot, but isn't expected to be ready for Week 4.

John Oehser on Twitter
Perhaps he'll be ready for Week 5 in St. Louis. With both Gratz and Alan Ball banged up, the Jags have been mixing and matching at cornerback, with predictably poor results.
Jags FS Dwight Lowery has concussion 09-23-2013
Dwight Lowery FS SD
Jaguars FS Dwight Lowery has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Mark Long on Twitter
Bears declare Michael Bush their goal-line RB 09-23-2013
Michael Bush RB ARZ
Coach Marc Trestman told reporters Monday that Michael Bush will be the Bears' goal-line back going forward.

Rich Campbell on Twitter
Matt Forte has scored each of his two early-season touchdowns on runs from or inside the five-yard line, but when the Bears are at the opposing one, Bush is going to get the call in most situations. "We've kind of isolated and declared Michael our goal-line running back," said Trestman. Fantasy owners can't depend on random week-to-week goal-line scores, leaving Bush as a mere handcuff. It could cost Forte TD chances over the course of the year, but Forte is playing too well for it to matter. He's the No. 5 overall fantasy back through three games.
Marcedes Lewis expected to return Sunday 09-23-2013
Marcedes Lewis TE JAX
The Jaguars expect TE Marcedes Lewis (calf) to return for Week 4.

Mark Long on Twitter
Lewis has yet to play this season. The one-time borderline TE1 is off the fantasy radar with Blaine Gabbert reclaiming the starting job in Jacksonville.
Mario Williams diagnosed with ankle sprain 09-23-2013
Mario Williams DE MIA
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Mario Williams has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle, but is currently planning to play in Week 4.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
That is, "unless his ankle doesn't get better later this week." Speaking Monday, Bills coach Doug Marrone said Williams was "fine," but Marrone has brought new meaning to "coachspeak" since joining the NFL ranks. For now, Williams should be considered day to day, and questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Jaguars announce Gabbert will start Week 4 09-23-2013
Blaine Gabbert QB SF
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley announced Monday Blaine Gabbert will return as the team's starting quarterback in Week 4 against the Colts.

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
Cecil Shorts gobbled up 16 catches and 236 yards on a league-high 29 targets during Chad Henne's two starts. Gabbert's hand laceration is now healed, which will make Shorts a dicier fantasy play. Gabbert struggled to deliver footballs Shorts' way throughout 2012, and in Week 1 completed only 3-of-10 throws for 40 yards in Shorts' direction. Gabbert doesn't give Jacksonville its best chance to win, but they're not necessarily concerned with 2013 wins. This team is squarely in the hunt to go 0-16. Fire up Indy's fantasy defense.
Nnamdi Asomugha undergoing MRI Monday 09-23-2013
Nnamdi Asomugha CB SF
49ers CB Nnamdi Asomugha is undergoing an MRI on his right knee Monday.

CSN Bay Area
Asomugha suffered the injury getting trucked by Ahmad Bradshaw on Sunday. The Niners' nickel back, Asomugha has graded out as a bottom-nine corner in Pro Football Focus' ratings. It wasn't just the scheme in Philly.
Bills will lean more heavily on DE Bryant 09-23-2013
Corbin Bryant DT BUF
The Bills will turn to former UDFA Corbin Bryant as their primary left end after losing Alex Carrington for the year.
Carrington only had ten sack-less tackles through three games at the same five-technique type position in Mike Pettine's defense, so it's not necessarily a high-production spot. Bryant will be more of an early-down run stuffer.
Patrick Willis (groin) undergoing MRI Monday 09-23-2013
Patrick Willis LB SF
49ers ILB Patrick Willis (groin) is undergoing an MRI on Monday, and is not expected to be available for Thursday night's game against the Rams.

CSN Bay Area
Coach Jim Harbaugh has yet to officially rule Willis out, but the odds are slim-to-none that he's ready to return after just three days. Michael Wilhoite filled in for Willis on Sunday, and would likely start against the Rams.
Report: Vincent Jackson's injury not serious 09-23-2013
Vincent Jackson WR TB
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Vincent Jackson's rib injury is "not considered serious," and that he's day to day.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Bucs coach Greg Schiano was vague on V-Jax's status in Monday's pressure, but it sounds like there's a real chance he doesn't miss any time. V-Jax may have to be fitted for a flak jacket, but fantasy owners should consider him better than 50-50 for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. His status will be updated no later than Wednesday.
49ers may activate Jon Baldwin 09-23-2013
Jon Baldwin WR DET
At his Monday press conference, coach Jim Harbaugh was open to the idea of activating Jon Baldwin on game day.

Matt Barrows on Twitter
"That's possible," said Harbs. "He's doing a good job." Baldwin has been a healthy scratch in each of the first three games. In the meantime, 49ers wideouts have struggled mightily to get open, and Vernon Davis is battling a bad hamstring. Look for Baldwin to get some snaps Thursday night in St. Louis.
Report: Cameron Wake has 'mild' MCL sprain 09-23-2013
Cameron Wake DE MIA
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Dolphins LE Cameron Wake has been diagnosed with a "mild" MCL sprain.

Jason La Canfora on Twitter
Even a "mild" MCL sprain could cost Wake multiple games, but it's still good news. Wake missed the final three quarters of Sunday's win over the Falcons, and should be considered doubtful for next Monday's showdown with the Saints for the time being. Wake has 2.5 sacks through his first three games.
Aldon Smith out 'at least a few weeks' 09-23-2013
Aldon Smith OLB OAK
ESPN's Adam Schefter stated on NFL Insiders Monday to expect Aldon Smith's leave of absence to cost him "at least a few weeks." The 49ers are officially NOT calling Smith's a suspension; it's being billed as a voluntary leave of absence to get his alcohol and drug problems fixed. He'll likely get an NFL-imposed suspension later this season or next year. The 49ers face the Rams, Texans, and Cardinals over their next four games.
Chiefs work out Chris Rainey 09-23-2013
Chris Rainey RB IND
The Chiefs worked out free agent RB/KR Chris Rainey on Monday.

Profootballtalk on Twitter
Rainey reportedly ran a forty time in the 4.3s. Unfortunately, he's a complete turd off the field and not very effective on it. Rainey has on several occasions been arrested going back to his days at Florida.
Sio Moore questionable with concussion 09-23-2013
Sio Moore LB ARZ
Raiders SLB Sio Moore is listed as questionable for Monday night's Week 3 game at Denver due to a concussion.

CSN Bay Area
One of Oakland's few impressive young pieces, Moore was concussed during a car accident on Saturday morning. Moore has indicated on Twitter that he will play against the Broncos. Kaluka Maiava will get the nod if Moore can't go.
Vikings place FB Zach Line on injured reserve 09-23-2013
Zach Line FB MIN
Vikings placed FB Zach Line on injured reserve, ending his season.
Packers waive WR Jeremy Ross 09-23-2013
Jeremy Ross WR ARZ
Packers waived WR Jeremy Ross. The second-year undrafted free agent had appeared in all three games this season, making one catch in the process. He fumbled a kickoff in Sunday's loss, however. Ross should be stashed on the practice squad provided he clears waivers.
The touchdowns are coming for Torrey Smith 09-23-2013
Torrey Smith WR SF
Through three games, Torrey Smith is on pace for career highs in receptions (85) and receiving yards (1,434).

Baltimore Sun
He doesn't have a touchdown yet, but they're coming. It's a good time to buy relatively low on Smith because his owner may have some TD-less anxiety. Smith is going to set career highs in receptions and yardage this season because he is the Ravens' No. 1 option in the passing game and is running more diverse routes. He scored seven touchdowns in 2012 and eight in 2011.
'Too early to tell' V-Jax's Week 4 status 09-23-2013
Vincent Jackson WR TB
Speaking Monday, Bucs coach Greg Schiano said it's "too early to tell" if Vincent Jackson (ribs) will be ready for Week 4.

Dave Richard on Twitter
NFL Network reported Monday morning that Freeman was undergoing a full battery of tests, and the results apparently aren't yet available. Jackson didn't return to Sunday's loss to the Patriots after departing in the third quarter. Rib injuries are extra tricky for wideouts. V-Jax is probably less than 50-50 to suit up for Week 4.
Schiano gives Josh Freeman vote of confidence 09-23-2013
Josh Freeman QB IND
Bucs coach Greg Schiano endorsed Josh Freeman as his starting quarterback Monday.

Rick Stroud on Twitter
Freeman is completing a Tebow-esque 45.7 percent of his passes this season, but the Bucs aren't yet ready to throw rookie Mike Glennon into the fire. Freeman has posted a 2:4 TD:turnover ratio, and owns a pathetic 59.3 QB rating. Rattled and regressing, Freeman likely doesn't have much longer under center in Tampa.
Marrone expects Mario, Dareus to be 'fine' 09-23-2013
Mario Williams DE MIA
Bills coach Doug Marrone expects Mario Williams (undisclosed) and DT Marcell Dareus (ankle) to be "fine" for Week 4.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
C.J. Spiller expected to be 'fine' for Week 4 09-23-2013
C.J. Spiller RB KC
Speaking Monday, Bills coach Doug Marrone said C.J. Spiller (quad) should be "fine" for Week 4 against the Ravens.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
Spiller missed the final quarter and a half of Sunday's loss, but it was apparently just a precaution. A consensus first-round pick in fantasy leagues, Spiller is averaging just 51 yards per game and 3.56 yards per tote, and has out-touched backup Fred Jackson just 52-45. Spiller has a rough Week 4 matchup in the Ravens' fifth-ranked run defense.
Lions' Jason Jones officially placed on I.R. 09-23-2013
Jason Jones DE MIA
Lions placed LE Jason Jones on injured reserve with torn left patellar tendon, ending his season. The 27-year-old end went down with a non-contact injury in Sunday's win. Signed to a three-year, $9.5 million deal in March, Jones ends his first year in the Motor City having generated just two quarterback pressures in 87 snaps (per Pro Football Focus). Andre Fluellen is taking Jones' roster spot, though Willie Young, Israel Idonije and perhaps rookie Devin Taylon will split up his role.
Jaguars already scrapping zone scheme? 09-23-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
The Jaguars appear to already be scrapping their zone-blocking scheme.
It's reminiscent of the 2012 Raiders, who couldn't get any rushing production after changing their scheme and trying to fit square peg Darren McFadden into a round hole. The Jags ran more power-gap plays in the second half of Sunday's loss to Seattle, and made slight improvements in efficiency. The real problem is Jacksonville's utter inability to open interior running lanes.
Bills lose DE Carrington for the season 09-23-2013
Alex Carrington NT HOU
Updating a previous item, Bills LE Alex Carrington is expected to be done for the season with a torn quadriceps tendon.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
It's not a left knee injury as originally reported, but the end result is as bad as imagined. Carrington had been playing significant snaps as Buffalo's starting left end. The Bills have the most banged-up defense in football.
Delanie Walker spotted in protective boot 09-23-2013
Delanie Walker TE TEN
Delanie Walker was spotted with a boot on his left ankle Monday, but says he's just "sore."

Jim Wyatt on Twitter
Walker underwent an MRI, but it's unclear if he's gotten the results. Walker "doesn't think the injury is serious," but players rarely do. Walker has just nine catches for 99 yards, and is a middling TE2 in the Titans' run-first offense.
Colts RB snaps: Richardson 28, Bradshaw 30 09-23-2013
Trent Richardson RB BAL
Trent Richardson played 28 snaps compared to Ahmad Bradshaw's 30 in the Colts' Week 3 win over San Francisco.
It's not surprising Richardson both played less and was less effective than Bradshaw in Richardson's first game as a Colt after two practices with the team behind blockers he's never ran with before. The Colts didn't trade a first-round pick to have Richardson rotate with Bradshaw. Richardson will take over as the every-down back, likely as soon as Week 4 against Jacksonville. Bradshaw remains roster worthy in all fantasy leagues.
Garcon: Griffin 'obviously' not 100 percent 09-23-2013
Robert Griffin QB CLE
Pierre Garcon says Robert Griffin III is "not fully healthy, obviously," and "a lot different" from his rookie campaign.

Washington Post
"It's just playing with injuries," Garcon said of Griffin's comeback from knee surgery. "Everybody is hurt in the NFL. ... (It's) just something you've got to deal with when you're in the league and during the season." RGIII has attempted just 15 rushes through his first three games after averaging eight per contest in 2012. Washington's read-option plays were a little more frequent and crisper on Sunday, but the 'Skins still aren't close to running the offense they featured last season.
Hakeem Nicks complains about Wk 3 usage 09-23-2013
Hakeem Nicks WR NO
Hakeem Nicks is the latest NFL receiver to complain about his number of targets.

Ohm Youngmisuk on Twitter
Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown did the same early in the year, and both bounced back with huge breakouts the following week. Asked why he didn't have any Week 3 catches, Nicks reportedly replied "I can't throw the ball to myself." The Giants may respond by countering with a heavy-target Week 4 game, though he'll likely have to do it in Chiefs shadow CB Brandon Flowers' coverage.
Browns deny they're shopping Josh Gordon 09-23-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
Coach Rob Chudzinski denied Monday the Browns are shopping Josh Gordon.

Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter
Adam Schefter has twice reported the Browns are fielding and receiving trade offers for Gordon. "We have no plan on doing that," said Chud. We'll believe the Browns aren't trying to trade Gordon when the October trade deadline passes and he isn't on another team. Targeted a whopping 19 times in his first game off suspension, there's every reason to believe Gordon is being showcased.
Philbin chides Tannehill's ball-handing 09-23-2013
Ryan Tannehill QB MIA
Speaking Monday, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin called out Ryan Tannehill's ball-handling issues.

Barry Jackson on Twitter
Philbin said he's "delighted" by Tannehill's progress, but that he must do a better job protecting the ball. Tannehill has already committed five fumbles on the young season, losing two of them. It's been a rare trouble spot for Tannehill in his otherwise ascendant sophomore campaign. Tannehill fumbled nine times as a rookie, losing four.
David Wilson leads Giants in backfield snaps 09-23-2013
David Wilson RB NYG
David Wilson led the Giants' backfield in Week 3 snaps, playing 25 downs compared to Da'Rel Scott's 21 and Brandon Jacobs' 6.

Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter
Look beyond the box score and the usage numbers were actually promising for Wilson; Scott's playing time only received a bump because the Giants were in pass-oriented comeback mode all game. Wilson ripped off a number of impressive runs when he wasn't getting hit in the backfield, and had a 17-yard TD negated by a penalty at the line. Wilson remains a recommended fantasy buy low.
Jacoby Jones injured in bus brawl w/ stripper 09-23-2013
Jacoby Jones WR PIT
Ravens KR Jacoby Jones reportedly suffered head injuries in a brawl aboard a party bus when a stripper struck him with a bottle late Sunday.
The bus was reportedly filled with Ravens players and at least one stripper named "Sweet Pea," who struck Jones with a "gigantic" Ace of Spades bottle. Jones was reportedly "bleeding everywhere," and an ambulance was called, though he did not have to be hospitalized. Notorious partier Bryant McKinnie was aboard the bus, but tried to break up the brawl. No arrests were made because "no one cooperated with cops." Jones is out indefinitely with a sprained MCL.
Lions re-sign DT Fluellen 09-23-2013
Andre Fluellen DT DET
Lions re-signed DT Andre Fluellen. Primarily an interior player, Fluellen will try to help paper over the loss of Jason Jones to a patellar tendon tear, although Willie Young, Israel Idonije, and rookie Devin Taylor will likely see the bulk of the extra snaps.
Report: Browns have offer on table for Gordon 09-23-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter Monday the Browns are listening to and receiving trade offers for Josh Gordon. Browns management isn't interested in competing this season, and Gordon is one strike away from a one-year suspension. So they're trying to "sell high," a strategy with which fantasy footballers are quite familiar. Gordon dominated in Sunday's win over the Vikings, racking up 146 yards and a touchdown on 19 targets. 19 targets suggests the Browns were showcasing Gordon, and he could be on the move as soon as this week. Schefter made it clear the Browns won't trade Gordon unless a team meets their asking price, but they already have at least one offer on the table. "There already is a team that has made an active offer for Josh Gordon," said Schefter.
Browns decline to name Week 4 starting QB 09-23-2013
Brian Hoyer QB CHI
Speaking Monday, coach Rob Chudzinski declined to name his Week 4 starting quarterback.

Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter
"I'm going to wait on that until I have all of the information," Chud said. He's referring to the status Brandon Weeden's thumb and a full evaluation of the Week 3 coaches tape. Brian Hoyer did lead the Browns to their first win of the season, but threw three interceptions and averaged just 5.94 yards per attempt. Still, it's hard to see the Browns sitting Hoyer down after he actually generated 31 points. The Browns face the Bengals in Week 4.
Cardinals place OLB Acho on injured reserve 09-23-2013
Sam Acho OLB CHI
Cardinals placed OLB Sam Acho on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season. Acho suffered the injury in Arizona's Week 3 loss to Detroit. Since an impressive rookie season (seven sacks, four forced fumbles) in 2011, Acho has seemingly flatlined as a player, and was only playing about 50 percent of the snaps in new DC Todd Bowles' defense. He's signed cheaply through 2014, but the Cards need to find a more explosive edge presence in the offseason.
Cards lose WLB Alexander for season 09-23-2013
Lorenzo Alexander OLB BUF
Cardinals placed WLB Lorenzo Alexander (Lisfranc) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Darren Urban on Twitter
The Cardinals are really missing the suspended Daryl Washington now. Alexander, an elite special teamer during his time in Washington, was playing a rotational role on the weak-side. He signed a three-year, $9.5 million contract that included $3 million guaranteed back in March. Washington is due back Week 5.
Eric Fisher's issues are mental, not physical 09-23-2013
Eric Fisher OT KC
A source tells FOX Sports that Eric Fisher's biggest issues so far have been mental.

FOX Sports
Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick, has been one of the league's worst right tackles so far. Through three games, he's given up two sacks and seven quarterback hurries, grading out negatively as both a pass and run blocker. The Chiefs insist his issues stem from moving from the left tackle spot he played at Central Michigan to the right side he's playing now. We suspect it's more about simple adjustment to the speed of the NFL. Fisher is a lock to improve.
Miles Austin's latest hammy pull not serious 09-23-2013
Miles Austin WR PHI
A source tells ESPN Dallas that Miles Austin's latest hamstring injury is not serious.

ESPN Dallas
Coach Jason Garrett suggested that Austin could have played through the strain Sunday if the Cowboys weren't up 24-0. Considering Austin's history, it's probably a good thing he didn't. He's battled constant hamstring woes since the outset of the 2011 season, often suiting up but lacking explosiveness. If Austin is held out in Week 4, rookie Terrance Williams would draw the start. Dwayne Harris would fill in as the No. 3 wideout.
Bears lose Pro Bowl DT Melton to a torn ACL 09-23-2013
Henry Melton DE DEN
Bears DT Henry Melton has been diagnosed with a torn left ACL, ending his season.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
A key cog as the three-technique dominator in the Bears Cover-2 scheme, the Bears are going to feel the absence of Melton in a big way. He graded out as ProFootballFocus' No. 7 defensive tackle last year, racking up six sacks and going to the Pro Bowl. Nate Collins, Stephen Paea and possibly Zach Minter are all going to have to step up. It's also a severe blow to Melton's wallet. He was playing this year on a one-year, $8.45M franchise tender. Now Melton will hit unrestricted free agency having to prove his health.
Payton denies Mark Ingram trade rumors 09-23-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
Coach Sean Payton called the Mark Ingram trade rumors "completely false."

New Orleans Times-Picayune
Payton said the Jason La Canfora report from Sunday has "zero credibility." We wouldn't expect the head coach to do anything but stand behind his failed 2011 first-round pick, but that doesn't mean a trade isn't possible. Ingram's inability to play in the Saints scheme makes a change of scenery seem like a win-win for both sides. Undrafted rookie Khiry Robinson looks more than capable of handling third running back duties.
Mario Williams left Sunday's loss early 09-23-2013
Mario Williams DE MIA
Mario Williams left Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Jets in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury.
Williams went down while trying to block an extra point and never returned. The Bills haven't disclosed the nature of the injury, but Williams was spotted limping and heading for X-rays after the game. Williams has seven tackles and 4.5 sacks through three games. All of those sacks came in a Week 2 ravaging of the Panthers.
Report: Dolphins not pursuing Joe Thomas 09-23-2013
Joe Thomas OT CLE
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are not among the teams that have called the Browns about LT Joe Thomas.

Miami Herald
If the Browns are truly having a total firesale, every team in the league should be interested in Thomas. He's 28 years old, a six-time Pro Bowler, three-time first-team All-Pro and has graded out as a ProFootballFocus top-10 tackle in five straight seasons. The price for Thomas should be way steeper than it was for Trent Richardson. The Browns are far more likely to trade Josh Gordon, Brandon Weeden or Greg Little.
Kenny Britt sat out the game-winning drive 09-23-2013
Kenny Britt WR LA
Kenny Britt did not play at all during the Titans 10-play, 94-yard game-winning drive Sunday.

Nashville Tennessean
Plagued by drops, penalties and ill-advised tweets, Britt is getting phased out in Tennessee. Jake Locker actually asked for rookie Justin Hunter to be in the game late, not Britt. Hunter's snaps at the X spot figure to grow, while Britt is not anything close to a fantasy asset right now. He has five catches for 43 yards and no touchdowns through three weeks.
Lance Moore may have a wrist injury 09-23-2013
Lance Moore WR DET
Trainers were spotted looking at Lance Moore's wrist during Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

New Orleans Times-Picayune
Moore played on just 35-of-76 snaps (46.0 percent). He might have been held out of the second half due to the wrist injury and the lopsided score. Regardless, Moore is quickly becoming an afterthought in the Saints passing game. Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston and Darren Sproles hog targets on a weekly basis. Robert Meachem and Kenny Stills are also getting looks.
Luck's touchdown came on naked bootleg 09-23-2013
Andrew Luck QB IND
Andrew Luck's touchdown run in Sunday's win over the 49ers came on a naked bootleg.

Indianapolis Star
Luck's athleticism is highly underrated. He ran a 4.67 at the 2012 Combine along with plus marks in the vertical leap and broad jump. As a rookie, he rushed for 255 yards and five touchdowns. This year, he's on pace to rush for 533 times and 10 scores. Luck is on his way to a monster fantasy season.
Isaiah Pead leads Rams with 42 snaps 09-23-2013
Isaiah Pead RB MIA
Isaiah Pead led the Rams with 42 snaps played in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

Nick Wagoner on Twitter
Daryl Richardson started the game, but left after two snaps when he aggravated his foot injury. That left Pead and Benny Cunningham (22 snaps) to carry the load. With Richardson's Week 4 status unclear, Pead is going to be a strong fantasy add. He could keep the starting job going forward with Richardson failing to impress as a runner even before his injury. However, Pead will have a tough task in Week 4 as the Niners come to town steaming after their embarrassing home loss to the Colts.
Update: C.J. Spiller hurt his thigh, not knee 09-23-2013
C.J. Spiller RB KC
Updating a previous item, C.J. Spiller actually hurt his thigh -- not his knee -- during Sunday's loss to the Jets.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Giovani Bernard moving closer to BJGE 09-23-2013
Giovani Bernard RB CIN
Giovani Bernard played on a season-high 30-of-56 snaps (53.5 percent) in Sunday's win over the Packers.
Bernard previously played on 37.2 percent of the Week 1 snaps and 34.5 percent of the Week 2 snaps. His bump in usage against Green Bay had a little to do with circumstance (BenJarvus Green-Ellis lost a careless fumble and the Bengals were down 16 points midway through the third quarter), but there's also a good chance the coaching staff is seeing the light. Green-Ellis is a low-upside plodder while Bernard gives the entire offense a jolt with his burst and power. The rookie's workload will continue to grow.
Mikel Leshoure doesn't play a snap 09-23-2013
Mikel LeShoure RB DET
Mikel Leshoure did not play a single snap in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins.

Detroit Free Press
Even with Reggie Bush (knee) sidelined, Leshoure can't get on the field. Sixth-round rookie Theo Riddick served as Joique Bell's backup. With Bush expected back for Week 4, Leshoure should be on the trading block. When the Lions realize no one wants him, he'll hang out on the weekly inactive list.
Niners were looking at Thursday with Davis? 09-23-2013
Vernon Davis TE WAS
ESPN's Bill Williamson suggests the 49ers' Week 4 Thursday night game played a role in Vernon Davis' (hamstring) absence against the Colts.
The Niners haven't revealed any details about the severity of Davis' pull, so this is all mere speculation. But he was considered a true game-time call in Week 3, suggesting he was at least reasonably close to suiting up. Perhaps the Niners had their eye on a divisional matchup with the Rams on Thursday night. For now, consider Davis a game-time call once again.
C.J. Spiller (knee) expects to play in Week 4 09-23-2013
C.J. Spiller RB KC
C.J. Spiller (knee) said he expects to play against the Ravens in Week 4.

Joe Buscaglia on Twitter
Spiller said he twisted his knee during the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Jets and lost some explosiveness. But the fact that he's just a little sore and expects to play next week confirms that there's no structural damage. It sounds like a minor sprain. We'll know more once the Bills get back in practice Wednesday.
V-Jax undergoing full battery of tests on rib 09-23-2013
Vincent Jackson WR TB
Vincent Jackson is undergoing a full battery of tests on his injured rib Monday.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Jackson left Sunday's loss at New England in the second half and did not return. Per the NFL Network, it's too early to know the severity of the injury. Wide receiver is a very difficult position to play through rib issues because they expose their abdomen to hits so often when reaching for passes. Consider V-Jax questionable for Week 4.
Cordarrelle Patterson plays on 19 snaps 09-23-2013
Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN
Cordarrelle Patterson played on a season-high 19-of-79 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Browns.

Chip Scoggins on Twitter
Patterson saw a grand total of 12 snaps in the first two weeks combined, so seeing 24.0 percent of the snaps is an improvement. He produced two catches for 49 yards on four targets. Patterson is going to be a weak fantasy play until he gets closer to 50 percent of the snaps, but that time should eventually come. Jerome Simpson has struggled since his Week 1 demolition of Lions rookie Darius Slay.
Schiano claims he never considered Glennon 09-23-2013
Josh Freeman QB IND
Coach Greg Schiano claimed he never considered benching Josh Freeman during Sunday's ugly loss at New England.

Tampa Bay Times
Brandon Bolden tied for team lead in snaps 09-23-2013
Brandon Bolden RB NE
Brandon Bolden and Stevan Ridley each played on 26-of-73 snaps in Sunday's win over the Bucs.

ESPN Boston
LeGarrette Blount played 21 snaps, turning the Patriots backfield into a full-blown three-headed committee. The difference here is that 21 of Bolden's snaps were passing plays, leading to five catches for 49 yards. It's a skill set that Ridley and Blount simply don't have. Clearly over his knee injury, Bolden is going to have PPR value as the new passing-down back for Tom Brady.
Jon Beason plays one snap 09-23-2013
Jon Beason LB NYG
Panthers WLB Jon Beason played just one snap in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Giants.

Charlotte Observer
Beason shared the workload evenly with Chase Blackburn in the first two weeks. But with the Panthers facing Blackburn's former team, Beason became an innocent bystander. The demotion likely had a plenty to do with how badly Beason has struggled this season as he comes off another knee surgery.
Kendall Wright plays second-most snaps 09-23-2013
Kendall Wright WR TEN
Kendall Wright played the second-most snaps (45) among the Titans wideouts in Sunday's win over the Chargers.

Jim Wyatt on Twitter
With Kenny Britt (zero receptions on 38 snaps) imploding, Wright's stock is rising. He's the Titans' best weapon after the catch and is now playing in some two-wide sets. Wright has posted 13 catches for 125 yards with one touchdown over the last two weeks, putting himself on the back end of the WR3 radar as the bye weeks approach.
Rashard Mendenhall played just 23 snaps 09-23-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Rashard Mendenhall played on just 23-of-58 snaps (39.6 percent) in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

Maurice Jones-Drew says swelling went away 09-23-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew said the swelling is out of his ankle.

Florida Times Union
Jones-Drew played deep into garbage time against the Seahawks, even getting snaps on the final drive with the Jags down 45-17. "It was fine," he said. "I could cut, jump, the whole nine." Jones-Drew has 44 carries for 115 yards (2.61 YPC) and no touchdowns on the season, but should find the sledding easier in Week 4. The Colts are ranked 26th against the run so far this season.
Pierre-Paul starts for first time in 2013 09-23-2013
Jason Pierre-Paul DE NYG
Jason Pierre-Paul made his first start of the season in Sunday's Week 3 loss at Carolina.

New York Daily News
Pierre-Paul finally appears to have worked his way back into condition following offseason back surgery. He had five tackles against the Panthers, including one for a loss. Expect bigger production from JPP going forward.

Jacquizz Rodgers racks up 43 snaps 09-23-2013
Jacquizz Rodgers RB TB
Jacquizz Rodgers played on 43-of-71 snaps (60.5 percent) in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Jason Snelling played on 34 snaps. They both ran surprisingly well in a tough spot at Miami, combining for 139 rushing yards on 29 carries (4.79 YPC). Rodgers did get the start and out-carried Snelling 18-11 and we would expect a similar split until Steven Jackson (thigh) returns. The Falcons host the Patriots in Week 4.
Roddy White plays on 66 percent of snaps 09-23-2013
Roddy White WR ATL
Roddy White (ankle) played on a season-high 47-of-66 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution
White was still mostly a decoy, recording just two catches for 16 yards on four targets. But perhaps he's starting to get a little healthier. In a best-case scenario, White will get more involved in the gameplan for Week 4 and 5 and then use the Week 6 bye to get to 100 percent.
Report: Bears fear DT Melton has a torn ACL 09-23-2013
Henry Melton DE DEN
A source tells the Chicago Tribune that the Bears fear DT Henry Melton sustained a torn left ACL in Sunday Night's win over the Steelers.

Chicago Tribune
It would be a serious blow to the Bears defense. Melton was a Pro Bowler last season, grading out as ProFootballFocus' No. 7 defensive tackle while dominating against the run and picking up six sacks. He's one of the best Cover-2 three-technique tackles in the game. Stephen Paea and Nate Collins are going to have to pick up the slack.
Darius Slay loses starting gig 09-23-2013
Darius Slay CB DET
Darius Slay has lost his starting right corner job to Rashean Mathis.

Detroit Free Press
For the first time this year, Slay didn't start. The second-round rookie only played on special teams, a punishment for getting benched during each of the first two weeks. "We have all the confidence in the world in him, but as a rookie there's just so many things he's seeing for the first time," coach Jim Schwartz said.
Reggie Bush says he will return for Week 4 09-23-2013

Isaac Redman non-factor in Week 3 loss 09-23-2013
Isaac Redman RB PIT
Isaac Redman did not receive a carry in Week 3 against the Bears. Redman didn't make his first appearance until late in the third quarter. He's behind Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer for touches and remains well off the fantasy radar.
Martellus Bennett held to two catches 09-23-2013
Martellus Bennett TE NE
Martellus Bennett was held to two catches for 10 yards in Sunday night's win over Pittsburgh Bennett's first catch didn't come until the second half and he was barely involved in the passing game, finishing with just five targets. He'll be a bounce back candidate for Week 4 against the Lions. Bennett has 12 catches for 135 yards and three touchdowns through three games.
Heath Miller picks up 35 yards in debut 09-23-2013
Heath Miller TE PIT
Heath Miller had three catches for 35 yards in his regular season debut Sunday night against the Bears. He was targeted four times and split playing time with David Paulson. Miller looked healthy in his first game since back since suffering a torn ACL in Week 16 of last season. He'll be on the TE2 radar next week game with the Vikings.
Markus Wheaton held catchless in Week 3 09-23-2013
Markus Wheaton WR PIT
Markus Wheaton was held without a catch in Week 3 against the Bears. Wheaton barely saw the field and finished with just one target. He continues to play behind Jerricho Cotchery, but should push for more playing time in three-wide sets. Wheaton has yet to record a catch this season.
Cotchery catches three passes for 52 yards 09-23-2013
Jerricho Cotchery WR CAR
Jerricho Cotchery caught three passes for 52 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears. Cotchery was mostly limited to blocking duties, but was contribute in the second half when the Steelers abandoned the running game. He continues to see the majority of targets behind Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, but will eventually lose his No. 3 receiver job to Markus Wheaton.
Sanders held to 39 yards on Sunday night 09-23-2013
Emmanuel Sanders WR DEN
Emmanuel Sanders had four catches for 39 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to Chicago. Sanders struggled to make an impact outside of a 22-yard catch and was invisible in the second half. He was targeted eight times by Ben Roethlisberger and remains the No. 2 option in the passing game behind Antonio Brown. Sanders has 16 catches for 174 yards through three games, but has yet to find the end-zone.
Earl Bennett makes impressive touchdown catch 09-23-2013
Earl Bennett WR CLE
Earl Bennett caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in Chicago's Week 3 win over the Steelers. Bennett continues to have a limited role in the Bears' offense, but managed to make an impressive 17-yard touchdown catch in the left corner of the end-zone late in the fourth quarter. He remains off the fantasy radar and is behind Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Martellus Bennett for targets.
Alshon Jeffery targeted team-high eight times 09-23-2013
Alshon Jeffery WR CHI
Alshon Jeffery had seven catches for 51 yard in Sunday night's Week 3 win over the Steelers. Jeffery was able to bounce back after being limited to one catch last week. He picked up the majority of his yardage on the Bears' opening drive, and had just three receptions in the second half. Jeffery tied with Brandon Marshall for a team-high eight targets and was the clear No. 2 option in the passing game. His role should continue to grow moving forward.
Brandon Marshall held to 52 yards on SNF 09-23-2013
Brandon Marshall WR NYJ
Brandon Marshall caught five passes for 52 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 win over the Steelers. Marshall was shut down by Ike Taylor for most of the game and was a non-factor outside of a 41 yard catch in the fourth quarter. He finished with eight targets and still managed to lead the Bears in receiving. Marshall has 20 catches for 269 yards and two touchdowns through his first three games. He'll look to get back on track in Week 4 against Detroit.
Dwyer leads Steelers in Week 3 carries 09-23-2013
Jonathan Dwyer RB ARZ
Jonathan Dwyer had 12 carries for 39 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears. Dwyer was used in a change-of-pace role behind Felix Jones and was the preferred option in pass protection over Isaac Redman. He had an impressive 25-yard run in first half and took over as the lead back after Jones fumbled in third quarter. Dwyer is nothing more than a desperation RB4 in re-draft leagues.
Michael Bush gets first touchdown in Week 3 09-23-2013
Michael Bush RB ARZ
Michael Bush rushed eight times for nine yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Steelers. Bush was used in both short-yardage and red-zone situations and vultured a one-yard touchdown from Matt Forte in the first quarter. It was his first touchdown of the season. Through three games, Bush has just 16 carries for 24 yards. He should continue to be viewed as a strict handcuff to Forte for fantasy purposes.
Felix Jones benched after second half fumble 09-23-2013
Felix Jones RB PIT
Felix Jones had seven carries for 34 yards in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears. Jones started and received the majority of carries in the first half, but was benched after a costly third quarter fumble and did not return. He added two catches for 13 yards and averaged a solid 4.9 yards-per-carry. Even if Jones starts next week, he'll continue to split carries with Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman. Le'Veon Bell has resumed practicing and will immediately regain his starting job when healthy.
Forte totals 111 yards, touchdown in Week 3 09-23-2013
Matt Forte RB NYJ
Matt Forte rushed 16 times for 87 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 3 win over the Steelers. Forte scored his lone touchdown on a goal-line carry in first quarter, but was rotated with Michael Bush in red-zone and short-yardage situations. He added four catches for 24 yards and continues to be a factor in the passing game. Forte was able to play through a foot injury after landing awkwardly on a block in the third quarter. He shouldn't be in any jeopardy of missing next week's matchup with the Lions.
Antonio Brown posts 9/196/2 line in SNF loss 09-23-2013
Antonio Brown WR PIT
Antonio Brown had nine catches for 196 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears. Brown had been limited to just 128 yards through two games, but was more involved on Sunday night after confronting OC Todd Haley about his role last week. He was targeted 13 times in the passing game and made a highlight reel one-handed catch on his second touchdown. Brown remains the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in the Steelers' offense and will be back on the WR2 radar for Week 4 against the Vikings.
Cutler leads Bears to win on Sunday night 09-23-2013
Jay Cutler QB CHI
Jay Cutler completed 20-of-30 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown in Chicago's 40-23 Week 3 win over the Steelers. He added four carries for 11 yards. Cutler wasn't asked to do much offensively and played with a lead for the entire game, with his lone touchdown coming on a 17-yard strike to Earl Bennett late in the fourth quarter. He averaged just 5.3 yard-per-attempt, but didn't have any turnovers and was efficient in the short-to-intermediate passing game. Cutler is now 68-of-101 (67 percent) for 693 passing yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions through three games.
