Roethlisberger throws for 406 yards, two TDs 09-22-2013
Ben Roethlisberger QB PIT
Ben Roethlisberger completed 26-of-41 passes for 406 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in Sunday night's Week 3 loss to the Bears. Roethlisberger was sacked three times and had four turnovers, including a pick-six to Major Wright in the second quarter. He continues to play without a running game and struggled to get pass protection behind a patchwork offensive line. Both of his touchdown passes went to Antonio Brown and he managed to complete at least one pass to nine different receivers. Roethlisberger will remain a QB2 option in Week 4 against the Vikings.
Bears CB Tillman dealing with groin injury 09-22-2013
Charles Tillman CB CHI
Bears CB Charles Tillman left Sunday night's game against the Steelers with a groin injury. Tillman suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and won't return for precautionary reasons. He's also been dealing with a knee issue and could miss practice time this week.
Henry Melton exits with left knee injury 09-22-2013
Henry Melton DE DAL
Bears DT Henry Melton exited Sunday night's Week 3 game against the Steelers with a left knee injury. Melton was carted off the field and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. His absence is a massive downgrade to the Bears' defense. Nate Collins has replaced him at defensive tackle.
Josh Gordon loves the Norv/Chud offense 09-22-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
Following Sunday's win at Minnestoa, Josh Gordon said the Browns offensive scheme is "the best offense to be in."

Akron Beacon-Journal
Gordon has a point. His ability to take the top off a defense fits perfectly with Rob Chudzinski's desire to push the ball vertically in the passing game. Gordon came right off suspension and went for a 10/146/1 line Sunday, recording the most catches by a Browns receiver since Kevin Johnson had 10 in 2003. The new Browns regime reportedly wants to trade Gordon, but it's unlikely they'd get equal value. He's 22 years old and has legit Pro Bowl talent.
Frank Gore spotted barking at Harbaugh 09-22-2013
Frank Gore RB SF
Frank Gore reportedly had some "choice words" for coach Jim Harbaugh near the end of Sunday's loss to the Colts.

Kevin Lynch on Twitter
Bills give no update on C.J. Spiller 09-22-2013
C.J. Spiller RB BUF
Bills coach Doug Marrone provided no update on C.J. Spiller's knee following Sunday's loss to the Jets.

buffalobills.com
He only said Spiller will be "reevaluated" on Monday. Spiller suffered the injury in the third quarter and did not return, leaving Fred Jackson as Buffalo's every-down back. We'll stop short of speculating on Spiller's timetable.
Jeff Cumberland goes for 26 yards Sunday 09-22-2013
Jeff Cumberland TE NYJ
Jets TE Jeff Cumberland caught three passes for 26 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Bills. He wasn't even targeted in either of the Jets' first two games. Cumberland is waiver-wire fodder in fantasy football leagues.
Kerley goes for 25 yards in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Jeremy Kerley WR NYJ
Jeremy Kerley caught two passes for 25 yards in the Jets' Week 3 win over Buffalo. He saw five targets. While starters Stephen Hill and Santonio Holmes both topped 100 yards against the Bills, Kerley was left to scrap for targets with Jeff Cumberland and other role players. Kerley is a WR5 in PPR leagues.
Winslow not targeted in Jets Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Kellen Winslow TE NYJ
Kellen Winslow was not targeted in the Jets' Week 3 win over Buffalo. Winslow didn't play much after missing practice reps last week with a knee injury. His Week 1 line of 7-79-1 against the Bucs may go down as Winslow's best game of the season. Jeff Cumberland is now getting more run.
Alex Green goes for 14 yards in Jets win 09-22-2013
Alex Green RB NYJ
Jets RB Alex Green rushed five times for 14 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Bills. The Jets ran a season-high 41 times on Buffalo, and Green saw snaps because Chris Ivory suffered an early-game hamstring injury and did not return. If Ivory sits out at Tennessee in Week 4, Green could get another five or so touches.
Douglas catches just one pass in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Harry Douglas WR ATL
Harry Douglas caught just one pass for nine yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Miami. Douglas was targeted six times on the afternoon while Roddy White continued to take plays off as he nurses his high-ankle sprain. Douglas hasn't done much the past two weeks and isn't worth a fantasy roster spot.
Fred Davis tried to test ankle Sunday 09-22-2013
Fred Davis TE WAS
Fred Davis (ankle) was spotted moving "gingerly" prior to Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions. Davis rolled his ankle on the last play of practice on Friday. He woke up feeling soreness and swelling on Saturday. Davis is no lock to play in Week 4, and Jordan Reed is nursing a quad injury.
Charles Clay catches four passes in win 09-22-2013
Charles Clay TE MIA
Charles Clay caught four passes for 40 yards in Week 3 against Atlanta. Clay was targeted six times on the day and dropped one pass. A week after rushing for a one-yard score, Clay didn't see any carries out of the backfield. Backup TE Dion Sims caught the game-winning one-yard touchdown Sunday. Clay remains of the TE2 radar next week against the Saints on Monday night.
Gonzalez catches just four passes in Week 3 09-22-2013
Tony Gonzalez TE ATL
Tony Gonzalez caught just four passes for 24 yards in Week 3 versus Miami. Gonzalez's slow start continues on. He's reeled in just 11 passes for 93 yards and no touchdowns through three games. Next week, the Falcons host the Patriots. New England usually keeps tight ends in check. Gonzalez is still a TE1, but it'd be nice to see him find the end zone in the very near future.
Chris Ivory injures hamstring as Jets win 09-22-2013
Chris Ivory RB NYJ
Chris Ivory suffered a hamstring injury in the Jets' Week 3 win over the Bills and did not return. He finished with five yards on four carries, while Bilal Powell tallied 158 total yards against Buffalo's sieve-like defense. Ivory also missed much of training camp with a hamstring injury, and we wonder if this is an aggravation. Fantasy owners should not expect Ivory to be healthy for Week 4 at Tennessee.
Jordan Reed doesn't know how bad bruise is 09-22-2013
Jordan Reed TE WAS
Jordan Reed said he doesn't know how bad his quad contusion is.

Washington Post
Reed took a helmet to the leg in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Lions and did not return. "It's real frustrating I couldn't keep playing," Reed said after the game. "I've got to come in [Monday] and see what kind of treatment I need." Meanwhile, Fred Davis did not play in Week 3 due to an ankle injury.
Gibson reels in six passes in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Brandon Gibson WR MIA
Brandon Gibson caught six passes for 49 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over Atlanta. Gibson saw a team-high eight targets and did most of his damage on the game-winning fourth-quarter drive that saw him pick up a couple key first downs. Gibson is excelling as Ryan Tannehill's safety blanket out of the slot, but he's not a legit fantasy option. He has 14 catches after three games.
Bilal Powell totals 158 yds as 2-1 Jets roll 09-22-2013
Bilal Powell RB NYJ
Bilal Powell rushed 27 times for 149 yards and caught two passes for nine yards in the Jets' Week 3 win over Buffalo. Jets normally pass-happy playcaller Marty Mornhinweg showed a commitment to the run in this game despite the early-game hamstring injury to Chris Ivory. Powell's 29 touches are a single-game career high, and he's now in line to carry the mail in the Jets' backfield with Ivory out of commission. Although Powell's talent is limited, volume can obviously buoy rushing production, and he is used heavily in the passing game. The Jets play the Titans next.
Sebastian Vollmer left with foot injury 09-22-2013
Sebastian Vollmer T NE
Patriots RT Sebastian Vollmer left Sunday's Week 3 win over the Bucs with a foot injury.

ESPN Boston
Clay Matthews says hammy injury not serious 09-22-2013
Clay Matthews LB GB
Clay Matthews said the hamstring injury he sustained in Sunday's loss to the Bengals is not serious.

Green Bay Press-Gazette
Matthews says he was removed from the game strictly as a precaution. "I don't see myself missing any time," he said. "We have Detroit coming back and I'll be out there." Matthews has a history of hamstring woes, so the Packers will watch him closely during their Week 4 bye.
T.J. Graham held to 5 yards in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
T.J. Graham WR NYJ
T.J. Graham caught one pass for five yards in Week 3 against the Jets. Buffalo's third receiver remains an afterthought in the passing attack.
Robert Woods goes for 35 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Robert Woods WR BUF
Robert Woods caught two passes for 35 yards in the Bills' Week 3 loss to the Jets. Woods saw ten targets in an incredibly inefficient effort, although E.J. Manuel had plenty to do with it. Through three weeks, Woods has yardage totals of 18, 68, and 35. He'll probably max out as a fantasy WR4 this season.
Santonio Holmes lights up Bills D for 5-154-1 09-22-2013
Santonio Holmes WR CHI
Santonio Holmes caught five balls for 154 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' Week 3 win over Buffalo, 27-20. Holmes faced Bills backup CB Justin Rogers for most of the game -- so you can take this with a grain of salt in that respect -- but he looked dynamic and like the Santonio of old all day long, separating from defenders and making plays down the field. Holmes will inevitably be inconsistent in fantasy because he plays with a rookie quarterback in a shaky offense, but he'll be worth strong WR3 consideration during upcoming bye-week crunches.
Stephen Hill goes for 108 yards & touchdown 09-22-2013
Stephen Hill WR NYJ
Stephen Hill caught three balls for 108 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Bills, seeing six targets. Hill's 51-yard touchdown in the second quarter was the first by a Jets wideout since last November 18. Hill has serious big-play ability, and has strung together back-to-back 80-plus-yard games. With bye weeks beginning in Week 4, Hill is now on the fill-in WR3 radar. The Jets play the Titans next.
Andre Johnson will have MRI on bruised shin 09-22-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson will have an MRI on his bruised shin.

ESPN.com
Johnson got kneed in the leg by Ravens LB Josh Bynes in the second quarter Sunday. He tried to return in the third quarter after X-rays came back negative, but couldn't move well. "I know when I went out there I couldn't play the way I am capable of playing. You see the film -- I'm limping out there around trying to play," Johnson said. The MRI will determine just how severe the bruise is. If Johnson misses time, DeAndre Hopkins will get a big boost.
Roddy White catches two passes in loss 09-22-2013
Roddy White WR ATL
Roddy White caught just two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Miami. White continues to be used mainly as a decoy as he fights through a high-ankle sprain. Julio Jones continues to benefit as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver for Matt Ryan. White was targeted just four times on the day, and his biggest contribution was drawing a defensive pass interference call in the end zone to set up Levine Toilolo's two-yard touchdown in the third quarter. White is slowly getting better, but he may not be bask to his normal self for a couple more weeks.
Scott Chandler goes for 79 yards & touchdown 09-22-2013
Scott Chandler TE BUF
Bills TE Scott Chandler caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Jets. The Bills threw 41 times on Sunday and don't want to play that way, so take Chandler's big box-score game with a grain of salt. His yardage totals in Weeks 1 and 2 were 10 and 38. Chandler is a clear-cut TE2 in fantasy football.
Mike Wallace catches just two passes in win 09-22-2013
Mike Wallace WR MIA
Mike Wallace caught just two passes for 22 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Falcons. Wallace faced off with Asante Samuel for much of the afternoon and saw just five targets. He didn't seem to be bothered by the groin issue that landed him on this week's injury report. Look for Wallace to bounce back against the Saints next Monday night. He's a WR3 with upside.
Stevie Johnson goes for 86 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Steve Johnson WR SF
Stevie Johnson caught six passes for 86 yards in the Bills' Week 3 loss to the Jets. Despite E.J. Manuel's struggles, Johnson has turned in back-to-back 80-plus-yard games and saw a team-high 13 targets against the Jets. He'll remain in the WR3 mix when Buffalo takes on Lardarius Webb's Ravens defense in Week 4.
Daryl Richardson aggravated foot injury early 09-22-2013
Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
Daryl Richardson said he aggravated his foot injury on his very first snap of Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

ESPN.com
Richardson was in a walking boot on Wednesday due to his foot injury, but practiced on Thursday and Friday. He started Sunday's game and immediately got the foot stepped on while going out for a route. Richardson never returned, leaving backup Isaiah Pead to get 13 touches. D-Rich's status going forward is unknown.
Hartline secures a touchdown in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Brian Hartline WR MIA
Brian Hartline caught four passes for 56 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Falcons. Hartline was targeted six times. He was wide open in the back left corner of the end zone for his 18-yard touchdown. With two scores through three games, Hartline has already surpassed his 2012 touchdown total. He's nothing more than a WR4. The Dolphins head to New Orleans next Monday night.
Geno Smith leads Jets to 2-1 start 09-22-2013
Geno Smith QB NYJ
Geno Smith completed 16-of-29 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Jets' Week 3 win over Buffalo. He added 14 yards rushing with a third score on a designed run. Smith really needs to cut back on the turnovers -- he made an incredibly ill-advised throw late against the Bills that could've been picked -- but he's been moving the offense and his supporting cast is getting better. The Jets have another winnable game in Week 4 at Tennessee. Smith is on the two-QB league radar.
Marlon Moore again held without catch 09-22-2013
Marlon Moore WR CLE
Marlon Moore was held without a catch in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts. Moore now has one catch through three games. The clear-out specialist is miles from fantasy value.
Quizz rushes for 86 yards in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Jacquizz Rodgers RB ATL
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 86 yards on 18 carries in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Dolphins. Rodgers started the game in place of the injured Steven Jackson (thigh) and added two catches for seven yards. Rodgers and Jason Snelling split the load pretty evenly with Snelling seeing 15 touches of his own. Jackson is expected to miss another game, so we'll likely see a similar split next week against New England. Neither player is much more than a low-level flex option.
Donald Brown rushes three times in Week 3 09-22-2013
Donald Brown RB SD
Donald Brown rushed three times for 25 yards in Indianapolis' Week 3 win over the 49ers. Now the Colts' No. 3 back, Brown finished with just 10 less yards than Trent Richardson despite notching 10 fewer carries. Nevertheless, Brown would need injuries to both T-Rich and Ahmad Bradshaw to get himself back on the fantasy radar.
Daniel Thomas rushes for 21 yards, TD in win 09-22-2013
Daniel Thomas RB MIA
Daniel Thomas rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown on five carries in Sunday's Week 3 win over Atlanta. Thomas added one reception for 16 yards. His touchdown came from five yards out after Lamar Miller broke off a 49-yard run earlier on the drive. Miller had nine touches compared to Thomas' six. This will continue to be an even timeshare next Monday night against the Saints.
Quinton Patton again held without a catch 09-22-2013
Quinton Patton WR SF
Quinton Patton was held without a catch on one target in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts. Even with the 49ers dangerously low on pass catchers, Patton has yet to make a catch this season. The re-draft dream is over.
Vance McDonald has one-catch afternoon 09-22-2013
Vance McDonald TE SF
Filling in for an injured Vernon Davis (hamstring), Vance McDonald caught one pass for six yards in the 49ers' Week 3 loss to the Colts. Playing through an ankle injury of his own, McDonald drew only three targets. He won't be a fantasy option for Thursday Night Football against the Rams if Davis misses his second straight game.
Kyle Williams catches just two passes in loss 09-22-2013
Kyle Williams WR KC
Kyle Williams caught two passes for 12 yards in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts. Even with Vernon Davis (hamstring) sidelined, Williams failed to make an impact. The 49ers need to give up the "Williams starting" ghost sooner rather than later. He doesn't have the talent to make an impact outside of special teams.
Ace Sanders falls behind Burton 09-22-2013
Ace Sanders WR JAX
Ace Sanders caught two passes for 25 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. Sanders saw just three targets and appeared to play behind Stephen Burton (five catches on nine targets) in two-wide sets. Sanders, a slot receiver on one of the league's worst passing offenses, has no re-draft appeal.
E.J. Manuel struggles against Jets defense 09-22-2013
EJ Manuel QB BUF
E.J. Manuel completed 19-of-41 throws for 243 yards and a touchdown, and rushed six times for 40 yards in the Bills' Week 3 loss to the Jets. He absorbed a whopping eight sacks as Rex Ryan's defense dialed up heavy and consistent pressure. Manuel wasn't playing as well in the Bills' first two games as the hype suggested, and fell on his face against a formidable foe. The Bills play the Ravens in Week 4, which could be another rude awakening for their developing rookie quarterback. Manuel is only worth owning in two-QB leagues.
Snelling totals 111 yards, TD in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Jason Snelling RB ATL
Jason Snelling rushed for 53 yards on 11 carries and caught four passes for 58 yards and one touchdown in Atlanta's Week 3 loss to the Dolphins.
Stephen Burton catches five balls in loss 09-22-2013
Stephen Burton WR JAX
Stephen Burton caught five passes for 42 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. A castoff of the Vikings, Burton was claimed off waivers by the Jags just prior to Week 1. Now he's operating as the clear No. 2 receiver and racked up nine targets Sunday. Of course, the Jags passing game isn't capable of supporting more than one wideout, so only extreme deep leaguers should take a gander.
Darrius Heyward-Bey has five-catch day 09-22-2013
Darrius Heyward-Bey WR PIT
Darrius Heyward-Bey caught five passes for 59 yards in Indy's Week 3 win over the 49ers. Heyward-Bey primarily run blocked as the Colts dialed up 39 rushes, but looked surprisingly good as a receiver, gaining consistent separation as he corralled all five of his targets. He out-played T.Y. Hilton, whose snaps were limited by a groin injury. DHB still doesn't have any real fantasy value - and should be soundly out-produced by Hilton by season's end - but could be worth a look as a potential WR5 plug-and-play with bye season beginning in Week 4.
Fred Jackson gets 11 touches vs. Jets 09-22-2013
Fred Jackson RB BUF
Fred Jackson rushed seven times for 72 yards and caught four passes for 37 yards in Buffalo's Week 3 loss to the Jets. F-Jax broke off a 59-yard first-half run and was otherwise bottled up on the ground, along with C.J. Spiller. Spiller suffered a second-half knee injury and did not return, which suggests he may also miss Week 4 and perhaps more time than that. Jackson has a chance to be the Bills' every-down back in the meantime. The Bills face a tough Ravens defense in Week 4.
Coby Fleener targeted only twice in win 09-22-2013
Coby Fleener TE IND
Coby Fleener caught two passes for 13 yards in Indianapolis' Week 3 win over the 49ers. Seemingly in line for a bigger role after the Colts lost Dwayne Allen for the season, Fleener instead drew only two targets. It was a product of Indy's game plan, which called for running the ball down San Francisco's throat. Fleener is not yet an asset as a run blocker, which could throw a wrench into his quest for TE1 value. The Colts have made it clear they're going to run early and often this season.
Cecil Shorts uses garbage time for 143 yards 09-22-2013
Cecil Shorts WR JAX
Cecil Shorts caught eight passes for 143 yards in Sunday's 45-17 Week 3 loss to the Jaguars. Shorts didn't see shadow coverage from Richard Sherman or Brandon Browner, but that's not why he ended up with a very useful fantasy line. Shorts did his damage after the Seahawks removed most of their starters while nursing a 31-7 lead with four minutes left in the third quarter. He continued to play hard, making acrobatic catches and taking plenty of punishment. Shorts ended up with 15 targets on the day and now has back-to-back games with eight grabs. Being a talented player on a really bad team has its benefits.
Lamar Miller rushed for 62 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Lamar Miller RB MIA
Lamar Miller rushed eight times for 62 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Falcons. Miller added one catch for two yards. His longest run went for 49 yards to set up Daniel Thomas' five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Miller saw three targets in the passing game, but he had a really bad drop on the game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. He beat DE Jonathan Massaquoi up the sideline. Ryan Tannehill laid a perfect pass in to Miller that would have gone for a 33-yard touchdown. It clanked off his hands. Miller and Thomas remain in a timeshare. The Dolphins take on the Saints next Monday night.
Kendall Hunter has 4/14/1 day vs. Colts 09-22-2013
Kendall Hunter RB SF
Kendall Hunter rushed four times for 14 yards and the 49ers' lone touchdown in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts. He added one catch for four yards. Hunter looked shot out of a cannon on his 13-yard score in the first quarter, but otherwise didn't make an impact in a game where the 49ers curiously dialed up just 16 running back runs, 11 of which went to Frank Gore. Hunter remains little more than a handcuff for fantasy purposes.
Matty Ice tosses two touchdowns in loss 09-22-2013
Matt Ryan QB ATL
Matt Ryan completed 23-of-38 passes for 231 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Dolphins. The Falcons fall to 1-2. They didn't lose their second game until December last season. Despite playing behind a makeshift offensive line missing LT Sam Baker, Ryan was kept relatively clean for much of the day. He hooked up with Julio Jones nine times for 115 yards. Ryan's two touchdowns went to Jason Snelling and rookie TE Levone Toilolo. Ryan and the Falcons host the Patriots next Sunday night.
Jordan Todman gets a TD in loss 09-22-2013
Jordan Todman RB JAX
Jordan Todman rushed two times for five yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Jaguars. Todman played ahead of Justin Forsett (zero carries) but well behind Maurice Jones-Drew (19 carries). The touchdown came on a pitch play after Jones-Drew failed to convert the initial goal-line chance. Todman is just a really, really weak handcuff.
T.Y. Hilton held to 2 catches in win over SF 09-22-2013
T.Y. Hilton WR IND
T.Y. Hilton was held to two catches for 13 yards in Indianapolis' Week 3 win over the 49ers. In and out of the game as he managed his groin injury, Hilton ended up with just four targets one week after whipping the Dolphins for six catches and 124 yards. He also watched as superior run blocker Darrius Heyward-Bey caught all five of his targets for 59 yards. It's worth noting that Hilton made a nice downfield block of his own, however. The Colts need Hilton's play-making ability, but he's shaping up as a weekly WR3 dice roll.
Maurice Jones-Drew gets a cheap TD 09-22-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 19 times for 43 yards with one touchdown and caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. The strained tendon in Jones-Drew's ankle did not appear to be an issue as he played deep into garbage time. He predictably had nowhere to run all day, but did catch a break when a Russell Wilson interception was returned to the 2-yard line. MJD punched in his first rushing score of the season from there. He got another goal-line chance in the fourth quarter, but could not convert and then Jordan Todman came on and did convert. Jones-Drew should see another week of high-volume, low-production against the Texans in Week 4.
Wayne has five-catch day in win over 49ers 09-22-2013
Reggie Wayne WR IND
Reggie Wayne caught five passes for 63 yards in Indianapolis' Week 3 win over the 49ers. Wayne's seven targets were a team high on a day where the Colts dialed up only 23 passes. Going on 35, Wayne is still getting open nearly at will, but is left with a fairly pedestrian 18/205/1 line thanks to the Colts' new run-obsessed offense. He's a WR3 who could go off for WR1/2 numbers in any given week.
Chad Henne can't get on board vs. SEA 09-22-2013
Chad Henne QB JAX
Chad Henne completed 18-of-38 passes for 235 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. Put in an impossible situation, Henne took four sacks and was hurried on countless other plays. He did well to rack up some yardage once the Seahawks pulled their starters with a 31-7 fourth-quarter lead. Regardless, Henne won't even be a QB2 option in Week 4 -- even if Blaine Gabbert (hand) remains sidelined.
Jordan Reed catches five passes in Week 3 09-22-2013
Jordan Reed TE WAS
Jordan Reed caught five passes for 50 yards before exiting Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions with a quad contusion. "Contusion" is a fancy word for a bruise. With Fred Davis (ankle) inactive, Reed was on the field a ton and saw six targets in the passing game. His block on Alfred Morris' 30-yard touchdown run was the final one Morris needed to get to the end zone. Reed may be overtaking Davis for the No. 1 tight end job.
Zach Miller gets two easy TDs in win 09-22-2013
Zach Miller TE SEA
Zach Miller caught two passes for five yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jaguars. The Jaguars put all their eggs into stopping Marshawn Lynch at the goal-line, leading to two easy scores for Miller. Don't expect a repeat anytime soon. Miller now has a total of 69 yards receiving through three games.
Doug Baldwin catches a tough TD in win 09-22-2013
Doug Baldwin WR SEA
Doug Baldwin caught one pass for a 35-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jags. Baldwin's lone catch was a gem. He tracked a ball over his shoulder and through a corner off a looper from Tarvaris Jackson. NFL teams in need of wideout help should give the Seahawks a call -- Baldwin can play but he's buried behind Golden Tate and Sidney Rice in Seattle's run-first offense.
Anquan Boldin has 5/67 day in loss 09-22-2013
Anquan Boldin WR SF
Anquan Boldin caught five passes for 67 yards in the 49ers' Week 3 loss to the Colts.
Robinson drops 57-yard TD in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Aldrick Robinson WR WAS
Redskins WR Aldrick Robinson failed to secure either of his two targets in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Detroit. Robinson had a costly drop, failing to hold onto a perfect 57-yard pass from Robert Griffin III. RGIII laid it in perfectly to Robinson, who beat Rashean Mathis to the end zone midway through the fourth quarter. The score would have given Washington a 24-20 lead. Instead, it deflated the team. Robinson has just one catch for 13 yards through three games.
Luke Willson gets loose vs. Jags 09-22-2013
Luke Willson TE SEA
Luke Willson caught five passes for 76 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jaguars. Willson flashed his sizable athletic ability while eluding tacklers on a 35-yard catch in garbage time. But if the Seahawks weren't playing their junior varsity squad late, Willson wouldn't have had many opportunities. He's a deep Dynasty stash, not a re-draft option.
Moss leads Redskins with 77 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Santana Moss WR WAS
Santana Moss caught seven passes for a team-high 77 yards in Washington's Week 3 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Moss was targeted on nine of Robert Griffin III's 50 passing attempts. He's going to see a handful of targets every week, but fantasy owners need to be looking for more upside than Moss. He's nothing more than a WR5.
Frank Gore totals 103 yards in loss to Indy 09-22-2013
Frank Gore RB SF
Frank Gore rushed 11 times for 82 yards in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts, adding two catches for an additional 21 yards. Gore started out hot, racking up 61 yards on his first four carries, but was contained thereafter. Bafflingly, he touched the ball just five times after halftime even though it was a one-score game until 4:13 remaining. The 49ers have some soul searching to do after getting dominated for the second consecutive week, and giving Gore a bigger Week 4 role will likely be one of the results. With the 49ers playing in the Thursday night game, Gore is getting a Rams defense on a short week that got torn up by DeMarco Murray Sunday.
Niners will hold out Aldon Smith for Week 4 09-22-2013
Aldon Smith DE SF
49ers president Jed York announced Sunday night OLB Aldon Smith will not play in Week 4 against the Rams and has been "suspended indefinitely." Coach Jim Harbaugh let Smith play Sunday at Indianapolis, just two days after he wrecked his car driving drunk with drugs in his ride. It sounds like upper management intervened and deemed the well being of the community more of a concern than winning football games. The 49ers, meanwhile, are 1-2 after back-to-back losses to Indianapolis and Seattle. It's unclear how long Smith will be held out, but we wouldn't assume it's just one game.
Hankerson catches three passes in Week 3 09-22-2013
Leonard Hankerson WR WAS
Leonard Hankerson caught three passes for 21 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions. Hankerson finished third on the team with his seven targets. After posting a 5/80/1 line in Week 1, HankTime has just six grabs for 56 yards the past two games despite the Redskins throwing the ball a ton. He's playing ahead of Josh Morgan on the outside, but Robert Griffin III seems to favor Santana Moss as his No. 2 option behind Pierre Garcon. Hankerson has minimal fantasy value.
Sidney Rice gets two TDs in blowout win 09-22-2013
Sidney Rice WR SEA
Sidney Rice caught five passes for 79 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 3 blowout of the Jaguars. Don't overreact to this line. Rice got open at will against the Jags painfully young and inept secondary. The same thing won't happen against the Texans corner duo of Jonathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson in Week 4. Remember that in the first two weeks of the season, Rice totaled three catches for 48 yards.
Morgan reels in both targets in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Josh Morgan WR CHI
Josh Morgan caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions. They were Morgan's lone two targets on the day. He's playing behind Leonard Hankerson on the outside opposite Pierre Garcon. Drop Morgan if he somehow found his way onto your fantasy roster.
Golden Tate gets going with 88 yards 09-22-2013
Golden Tate WR DET
Golden Tate caught five passes for 88 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jaguars. The Jaguars secondary came in undermanned and it got worse after Dwight Lowery left with a head injury. Tate and the rest of the Seahawks got wherever they wanted on the field. Tate will find far less room to run in a Week 4 road game at Houston. He's still just a weak WR3 in the Seahawks' run-happy offense.
Robert Turbin gets five total yards in win 09-22-2013
Robert Turbin RB SEA
Robert Turbin rushed three times for five yards and didn't catch a pass in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jaguars. Turbin was the strict third-down back when Marshawn Lynch was in the game and after Lynch was rested. It's further evidence that if Lynch were to get injured, Turbin would not assume feature back duties. Michael, a more talented natural runner, is Lynch's handcuff.
Trent Richardson has mostly quiet IND debut 09-22-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
Trent Richardson rushed 13 times for 35 yards and a touchdown in his Colts debut, a Week 3 win over the 49ers. Richardson's first carry as a Colt was a one-yard touchdown to cap off Indy's opening drive, but he had an otherwise quiet afternoon as Ahmad Bradshaw went off for 19/95/1. Richardson's last touch came with 7:51 remaining, as the Colts let Bradshaw kill the clock. Even considering the circumstances - T-Rich had just two practices to learn the Colts offense - it was a disappointing debut, but there's no reason to panic. T-Rich's skill still jumps out on film, and the Colts didn't surrender a first-round pick to have him play second fiddle to Bradshaw. Bradshaw isn't going to be phased out completely - Indy needs two backs to execute Pep Hamilton's power-rushing attack - but Richardson is very much going to take the lead, likely beginning in Week 4 against Jacksonville.
Fauria catches another touchdown in Week 3 09-22-2013
Joseph Fauria TE DET
Lions rookie TE Joseph Fauria caught a five-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Fauria led the Lions' tight end trio with his three targets. The touchdown was his second of the season, and Matthew Stafford seems to like him in the red zone. However, the undrafted rookie isn't worthy of a fantasy roster spot in any format.
Christine Michael shows well in NFL debut 09-22-2013
Christine Michael RB SEA
Making his NFL debut, Christine Michael rushed nine times for 37 yards in Sunday's Week 3 blowout of the Jaguars. Thanks to Spencer Ware's ankle injury, Michael was active for the first time all year. He didn't play when the game was competitive, but he was the feature back after Marshawn Lynch was pulled late in the third quarter. Michael immediately showed what we thought he would, spinning off tacklers and bursting through holes. It's evidence that if Lynch were to ever get injury, Michael would be the feature back and Robert Turbin would stay in his third-down role.
Scheffler catches first two passes of season 09-22-2013
Tony Scheffler TE DET
Tony Scheffler caught two passes for five yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. They were Scheffler's first two catches of the season and his lone targets this week. He's lightyears away from being relevant in fantasy.
Pettigrew held without a catch in Week 3 09-22-2013
Brandon Pettigrew TE DET
Brandon Pettigrew failed to secure either of his two targets in Detroit's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Pettigrew has just five catches for 38 yards after three games. Backup tight ends Tony Scheffler and Joseph Fauria are Matthew Stafford's new favorite red-zone options, along with Calvin Johnon. Pettigrew is nothing more than a low-end TE2.
Bears CB Tillman (knee) active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Charles Tillman CB CHI
Bears CB Charles Tillman (knee) is active for Sunday night's Week 3 game against the Steelers. Tillman has been dealing with a knee injury the last two weeks and was officially listed as questionable. The Bears inactives are OT Jonathan Scott, WR Marquess WIlson, CB C.J. WIlson, RB Michael Ford, OL James Brown, DE David Bass, and DT Zach Minter.
Trent who? Bradshaw stings Niners for 19/95/1 09-22-2013
Ahmad Bradshaw RB IND
Ahmad Bradshaw rushed 19 times for 95 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 3 win over the 49ers, adding three catches for 16 yards. Bradshaw's big day came as new acquisition Trent Richardson managed 13 carries for only 35 yards. Bradshaw ran with his trademark purpose, at one point launching himself at the goal line through the air in search of a touchdown. Naysayers will crow that the big day proves the Colts didn't need T-Rich, but it's worth noting that Bradshaw got shaken up multiple times, with doctors at one point checking out his neck. Especially considering Bradshaw's injury history, the Colts need multiple backs to execute Pep Hamilton's run-obsessed offense, and despite Bradshaw's impressive Week 3, T-Rich is going to carry the mail sooner rather than later.
Broyles catches three passes in 2013 debut 09-22-2013
Ryan Broyles WR DET
Ryan Broyles caught three passes for 34 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Broyles was making his season debut after being inactive the first two weeks. He saw just the three targets on the day. Patrick Edwards, the man he was replacing in the lineup, sat out with an ankle injury. Edwards had just three catches for 30 yards in the first two games. Look for Broyles to overtake Edwards in three-wide sets shortly. Broyles is worth a stash in PPR leagues.
Heath Miller (knee) cleared for season debut 09-22-2013
Heath Miller TE PIT
Heath Miller (knee) is active for Sunday night's Week 3 game against the Bears. Miller will make his regular season debut, but could be on a limited snap count in his first game back since suffering a torn ACL in Week 16 of last season. The Steelers inactives are RB LeVeon Bell, CB Cortez Allen, QB Landry Jones, WR Derek Moye, CB Isaiah Green, OL Cody Wallace, and DT Hebron Fangupo.
Le'Veon Bell (foot) inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
Le'Veon Bell (foot) is inactive for Sunday night's Week 3 game against the Bears. Bell practiced on a limited basis this week, but wasn't expected to play despite being listed as questionable. The Steelers will go with a committee of Felix Jones, Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer once again.
Will Blackmon suffers concussion 09-22-2013
Will Blackmon CB JAX
Jaguars CB Will Blackmon was ruled out of Sunday's Week 3 game due to a head injury. He's likely got a concussion. With Jacksonville's usual starting corners shelved, Blackmon has been playing a ton of snaps at left cornerback.
Nate Burleson rips up the Redskins secondary 09-22-2013
Nate Burleson WR CLE
Nate Burleson caught six passes for 116 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Don't expect Burleson to put up this many yards ever again. He got lost behind the Redskins' pitiful secondary for a 47-yard gain and had no issues turning short passes into solid gains due to Washington's poor tackling. Keep Burleson on your bench next week against the Bears.
Kaep held to 170 yards in meek loss to Colts 09-22-2013
Colin Kaepernick QB SF
Colin Kaepernick completed just 13-of-27 passes for 150 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Colts. He added seven rushes for 20 yards, and also lost a fumble. With Vernon Davis (hamstring) inactive, Kaepernick had even fewer people to throw to than he did in Seattle, and the Colts took advantage by bearing down on the box. Indy was ready for Kaep's scrambles, wrapping him before any damage was done, typically with a hard hit. By the end of the day, even Kaep's trademark tight spiral was looking shaky. Kaepernick simply doesn't have any weapons at his disposal, meaning fantasy expectations must be adjusted for the time being. We truly believe Kaep has MVP-level talent, but it apparently can't overcome the likes of Kyle Williams and Vance McDonald catching passes. Traveling to St. Louis for the Thursday night game, Kaep has a rough Week 4 matchup.
Shaun Draughn has a high-ankle sprain 09-22-2013
Shaun Draughn RB SD
Ravens RB Shaun Draughn sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Texans.

baltimoreravens.com
Draughn, who was operating as Bernard Pierce's backup, went down in the fourth quarter and did not return. "I don't know the severity of it, but it is termed right now as a high ankle," coach John Harbaugh said. The Ravens are going to have to sign a free agent running back with Ray Rice (hip) and Draughn both sidelined.
Andrew Luck leads Colts to shock win in SF 09-22-2013
Andrew Luck QB IND
Andrew Luck completed 18-of-27 passes for 164 yards in Indianapolis' 27-7 Week 3 win over the 49ers, adding four rushes for 24 yards and a touchdown. The Colts brazenly came into San Francisco planning to run a power attack against the 49ers' lockdown run defense, and proceeded to gash them for 179 yards on the ground and 4.6 yards per carry. It was a gritty win for the Colts, though that's likely of little consolation to Luck's fantasy owners, who watched the ascendant quarterback attempt fewer than 30 passes for the second time in three games. Luck's arm is inarguably the Colts' greatest asset on offense, but they're committed to a hard-nosed rushing attack under new OC Pep Hamilton, and Luck's fantasy expectations may have to be readjusted as a result. Nevertheless, Luck enters Week 4 as a QB1 against the Jaguars' pathetic defense.
Terrence Cody could miss a couple weeks 09-22-2013
Terrence Cody DT BAL
Ravens NT Terrence Cody sustained a knee sprain in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans and could miss a couple weeks.

Ravens on Twitter
"It does not look to be a long-term sprain," Coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll know more tomorrow. It could be this week, but more likely, it will be a couple of weeks." The loss of Cody is a blow to the depth of the Ravens front three. They'll have to get third-round rookie Brandon Williams ready for Week 4.
Julio Jones posts 9/115/0 line in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Julio Jones WR ATL
Julio Jones caught nine passes for 115 yards in the Falcons' Week 3, 27-23 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. Just like last week, Jones wasn't bothered one bit by the knee issue that has landed him on the injury report the past two weeks. With Roddy White still nursing his ankle sprain, Jones was targeted a game-high 12 times. He owned Nolan Carroll for much of the afternoon. Jones has 27 catches through three games. He's locked in as a weekly top-five fantasy receiver. The Falcons host the Patriots next Sunday night.
Marshawn Lynch frustrates owners Sunday 09-22-2013
Marshawn Lynch RB SEA
Marshawn Lynch rushed 17 times for 69 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Seahawks.
Tannehill leads Dolphins to 3-0 start 09-22-2013
Ryan Tannehill QB MIA
Ryan Tannehill completed 24-of-35 passes for 236 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's Week 3, 27-23 win over the Falcons. Tannehill and the Dolphins move to 3-0 after the second-year quarterback methodically marched the offense down the field for a last-minute game-winning touchdown drive. One of his touchdowns went to Brian Hartline, who was wide open, for an 18-yard score in the third quarter. Tannehill's second score was a one-yard hookup with rookie TE Dion Sims for the game-winner. Tannehill didn't seem to be bothered by the right shoulder issue that landed him on the injury report. The Dolphins travel to New Orleans to take on the 3-0 Saints next Monday night.
Ricky Jean-Francois suffers groin injury 09-22-2013
Ricky Jean-Francois DT IND
Colts DT Ricky Jean-Francois was forced from Sunday's game against the 49ers with a groin injury.

Matt Maiocco on Twitter
Jean-Francois left early in the fourth quarter, and did not return. The run stopper has been playing about 66 percent of the Colts' defensive snaps this season.
Miles Austin will be evaluated Monday 09-22-2013
Miles Austin WR CLE
Following Sunday's win over the Rams, the Cowboys said Miles Austin (hamstring) will be evaluated over the next couple days.

ESPN Dallas
Austin "tweaked" his ever-troublesome hamstring in the third quarter and did not return. "We decided to keep him out of it," coach Jason Garrett said. It doesn't appear to be an overly serious pull, but Austin's history makes this a major concern. He's battled hamstring issues on a constant basis over the last two seasons.
Bills lose DT Dareus to ankle injury 09-22-2013
Marcell Dareus DT BUF
Bills DT Marcell Dareus was ruled out of Sunday's Week 3 game with an ankle injury. Meantime, Buffalo is getting throttled on the ground by Bilal Powell. Dareus is a 340-pound space eater inside. It's possible he's dealing with a high ankle sprain, based on the fact that he was ruled out and not deemed questionable or even "doubtful" to return to Sunday's game.
Dunbar rushes for 19 yards in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Lance Dunbar RB DAL
Lance Dunbar rushed for 19 yards on five carries in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Rams. Dunbar and Phillip Tanner got a few carries late in the fourth quarter of the blowout win while DeMarco Murray rested up on the sidelines after his huge day. Dunbar isn't worth rostering as Murray's handcuff.
Gerhart remains non-factor behind Peterson 09-22-2013
Toby Gerhart RB JAX
Toby Gerhart was held to two catches for 14 yards in Week 3. Gerhart didn't receive any carries and saw limited snaps in pass protection on third downs. His only value is as a handcuff to Adrian Peterson. Gerhart should continue to be ignored in most fantasy formats.
C.J. Spiller suffers knee injury against Jets 09-22-2013
C.J. Spiller RB BUF
The Bills announced in the third quarter of Sunday's game that C.J. Spiller is questionable to return with a knee injury.
Escobar catches 24-yard TD in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Gavin Escobar TE DAL
Cowboys rookie TE Gavin Escobar caught a 24-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Rams. It was Escobar's first career touchdown. The second-rounder saw two targets on the days and now has just three catches for 40 yards and the score after three games. He's not on the re-draft radar, and we're not in love with his dynasty prospects.
Rudolph held out of end-zone in Week 3 09-22-2013
Kyle Rudolph TE MIN
Kyle Rudolph caught five passes for 28 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Cleveland. Rudolph was targeted eight times, but failed to go over 50 receiving yards for the third straight game. He struggled to pick up anything after the catch and did most of his damage during the Vikings' final drive. Rudolph is a borderline TE1 with strong touchdown upside in fantasy leagues.
Russell Wilson throws for 4 TDs in 3 quarters 09-22-2013
Russell Wilson QB SEA
Russell Wilson completed 14-of-21 passes for 202 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jaguars. With the Seahawks up 31-7 and under four minutes left in the third quarter, the Seahawks called off the dogs. Wilson and Marshawn Lynch came out, bringing Tarvaris Jackson and Christine Michael on. Wilson still had plenty of time to do damage while he was on the field. He threw two scores to a wide open Zach Miller and two more to Sidney Rice. The only error was a bad throw across his body that got tipped and picked off. Wilson will find the sledding much tougher next week at a Houston team that will be steaming after getting punished by the Ravens in Week 3. He'll be a back-end QB1.
Dwayne Harris catches TD in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Dwayne Harris WR DAL
Dwayne Harris caught a 24-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over St. Louis. It was Harris' lone target of the day. He ran right by Rams rookie SS T.J. McDonald on the score. Harris has four catches for 40 yards through three games. He was on the field more than usual after Miles Austin left with a hamstring injury.
Terrance Williams held without a catch in win 09-22-2013
Terrance Williams WR DAL
Terrance Williams didn't see a single target in Sunday's Week 3 victory over the Rams. The rookie was the clear No. 3 receiver, but the Cowboys didn't have to throw the ball a ton with DeMarco Murray racking up yards on the ground. Williams has five catches through three games and isn't a re-draft option.
Jarius Wright has three catches in Week 3 09-22-2013
Jarius Wright WR MIN
Jarius Wright had three catches for 35 yards in Week 3 against the Browns. Wright was targeted four times in the passing game and continues to lose playing time to rookie Cordarrelle Patterson. He's no higher than the Vikings' No. 4 receiver and remains off the fantasy radar.
Jerome Simpson struggles in losing effort 09-22-2013
Jerome Simpson WR MIN
Jerome Simpson caught three passes for 29 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Cleveland. Simpson was targeted a team-high eight times, but has now struggled in back-to-back games after going off for seven catches and 140 yards in the season opener. Cordarrelle Patterson outplayed Simpson on a per-play basis and will continue to push for the starting X receiver job. Simpson has 12 receptions for 218 yards through three weeks.
Quick catches one pass in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Brian Quick WR STL
Brian Quick caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Dallas. Quick was targeted four times on the day. He saw two end-zone throws come his way, and then dropped a quick slant. Quick isn't going to leapfrog Austin Pettis by dropping passes. He remains off the re-draft radar.
Patrick Willis knocked out with groin injury 09-22-2013
Patrick Willis LB SF
49ers ILB Patrick Willis was forced from Sunday's game against the Colts with a groin injury, and will not return. It's an ill-timed injury for the 49ers, as they've got the Week 4 Thursday night game. Willis was ruled out quickly after departing, suggesting it's more than just a tweak. Willis' status will be updated no later than Monday.
Pettis catches another TD in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Austin Pettis WR STL
Austin Pettis caught two passes for 20 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Cowboys.
Ogbonnaya totals 53 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Chris Ogbonnaya RB CAR
Chris Ogbonnaya had two carries for 23 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Vikings. He added four catches for 30 yards. Ogbonnaya started and received the majority of his snaps in passing situations and two-tight end sets. He was targeted five times in the passing game by Brian Hoyer and remains the preferred option on third downs. Ogbonnaya has minimal fantasy value and will continue to be used in a committee with Willis McGahee and Bobby Rainey in Week 4.
Jared Cook posts another dud in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Jared Cook TE STL
Jared Cook caught five passes for just 44 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. The Rams' offense was pathetic. They took no shots down field. Cook racked up all of his catches in the flats or on short routes over the middle. OC Brian Schottenheimer needs to open things up more with his play calling, or coach Jeff Fisher needs to let him. Cook is a back-end TE1 for the time being.
McGahee struggles, leads Browns in carries 09-22-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Willis McGahee was held to nine yards on eight carries in Sunday's Week 3 win against the Vikings. McGahee led the Browns in carries, but predictably struggled after just being signed on Thursday. Four of his nine touches were for zero yards or less and he was a non-factor in the passing game. McGahee was used in a committee with Bobby Rainey and Chris Ogbonnaya, but should be more involved as he becomes acclimated to the offense. Entering his age 32-season and splitting carries, he's nothing more than an RB4 stash in fantasy leagues.
Pead leads Rams' backfield with 13 touches 09-22-2013
Isaiah Pead RB STL
Isaiah Pead rushed for 20 yards on six carries and caught seven passes for 43 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. With Daryl Richardson leaving after one snap due to a re-aggravation of his foot injury, Pead led the backfield with his 13 touches. Benny Cunningham saw five touches. Pead had a long run of 11 yards, but he wasn't overly impressive as a runner. However, he did look like a natural pass catcher. Sam Bradford loves checking down to his running backs. Richardson's status for Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers is up in the air, so Pead may be in line for the start. It's a brutal matchup. He'd be no more than a flex option.
Dwight Lowery leaves with head injury 09-22-2013
Dwight Lowery S ATL
Dwight Lowery left Sunday's Week 3 game against the Seahawks with a head injury. Lowery took a shot early and likely has a concussion. He will not return. The Seahawks are attacking his replacement, Demetrius McCray.
Kenny Stills held without a catch in win 09-22-2013
Kenny Stills WR NO
Kenny Stills did not catch a pass in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Stills lost some third wideout duties to Robert Meachem who had two catches for 34 yards with a touchdown. It's a sign we can give up on Stills' re-draft value. He remains a Dynasty hold as a talented player in a Drew Brees offense. Stills has three catches through three games.
Lance Moore continues to struggle 09-22-2013
Lance Moore WR PIT
Lance Moore caught one pass for six yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Moore continues to be an afterthought in the offense. He saw just three targets in this one and now has a mere four catches through three weeks. With Robert Meachem and Kenny Stills both hungry for looks as well, there's just not enough room for Moore.
Bobby Rainey used in Week 3 committee 09-22-2013
Bobby Rainey RB TB
Bobby Rainey had four carries for 17 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over Minnesota. He added one catch for four yards. Rainey got the first carry of the game and was used in a committee with Willis McGahee and Chris Ogbonnaya. The Browns were forced to go pass-heavy after trading Trent Richardson this week. Rainey was the most effective back on a per-play basis. The Browns running game is a situation to avoid, but Rainey could eventually be an option to lead the backfield in touches. McGahee had just nine yards on eight carries, while Ogbonnaya was limited to third downs and passing situations.
Tavon Austin catches six passes in loss 09-22-2013
Tavon Austin WR STL
Tavon Austin caught six passes for just 30 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. Looking like a check-down specialist now, Sam Bradford consistently looked Austin, Jared Cook, and his running backs' ways in the flats and over the middle. Austin has reeled in six passes in each of the first three games. He's not turning them into many yards, though. Austin is a WR4. He'll square off with Carlos Rogers when the 49ers travel to St. Louis this upcoming Thursday night.
Witten leads Cowboys in receiving Sunday 09-22-2013
Jason Witten TE DAL
Jason Witten led the Cowboys with his five catches for 67 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Rams. With the Cowboys running the ball successfully, the passing game didn't have to produce much. The Cowboys were up 24-0 early in the third quarter. They just sat on the ball and drained the clock thereafter. Most of the starters were resting on the sideline early in the fourth quarter. Witten and the Cowboys go to San Diego in Week 4.
Robert Meachem gets TD on first catch 09-22-2013
Robert Meachem WR NO
Robert Meachem caught two passes for 34 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Meachem's first catch of his second tour with the Saints went for a score. Drew Brees faked a screen pass to Darren Sproles and then found Meachem deep behind the secondary. It looks like he's already forced at least an even timeshare with Kenny Stills at the No. 3 wideout spot. Still, there will be far too much inconsistency to make a fantasy add.
Philip Rivers struggles in Week 3 vs. Titans 09-22-2013
Philip Rivers QB SD
Philip Rivers completed 20-of-24 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. It was a return to Earth game for the fast-starting Chargers offense, which struggled to move the ball after its opening drive against a mediocre Titans defense. Rivers has zero downfield presence in his receiving corps, which is going to make the offense easy for opponents to squat on. He'll be a two-quarterback-league option only when the Chargers take on the Cowboys in Week 4.
Marques Colston works the middle as usual 09-22-2013
Marques Colston WR NO
Marques Colston caught five passes for 71 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Colston saw a lot of Patrick Peterson in the first half and predictably failed to gain separation. In the second half, the Cards moved Peterson onto Jimmy Graham and Colston found some openings in the middle of the field. The bigger concern is that Colston isn't close to the top goal-line target now. Graham is Drew Brees' first, second and third option down there. Colston will be a WR3 against Brent Grimes and the Dolphins in Week 4.
Andrew Quarless has three-catch day vs. CIN 09-22-2013
Andrew Quarless TE GB
Filling in for an injured Jermichael Finley (concussion), Andrew Quarless caught three passes for 21 yards in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals. Quarless now has four catches on the year. With Finley getting the Packers' Week 4 bye to heal up, Quarless should be off the radar as an emergency fill-in by the time Week 5 rolls around.
Givens catches two passes for 54 yds in loss 09-22-2013
Chris Givens WR STL
Chris Givens caught two passes for 54 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Dallas. Givens led the team with his eight targets, but the Rams offense was downright pitiful all afternoon. Sam Bradford rarely takes shots down field, and OC Brian Schottenheimer's play calling is as vanilla as it gets. Givens will be more WR4 than WR3 this upcoming Thursday night versus the 49ers.
Khiry Robinson impresses late for Saints 09-22-2013
Khiry Robinson RB NO
Khiry Robinson rushed four times for 38 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Robinson, an undrafted rookie out of West Texas A&M, got his chances with the Saints up 31-7 deep in the fourth quarter. He took advantage of it in a big way, drawing "oohs" from the crowd as he burst through holes. This is not a fluke -- Robinson rushed 49 times for 229 yards and caught 11 passes for 103 yards in the preseason. He's a name to watch if Mark Ingram gets traded.
Greg Little held to three catches 09-22-2013
Greg Little WR OAK
Greg Little was held to three catches for 19 yards in Week 3 against the Vikings. Little was demoted to third receiver this week and split playing time with Davone Bess in two-receiver sets opposite Josh Gordon. He was targeted eight times, but is no higher than the No. 4 option in the passing game. Little is not worth owning in any fantasy format.
Mohamed Sanu has four-catch day vs. Pack 09-22-2013
Mohamed Sanu WR CIN
Mohamed Sanu caught four passes for 68 yards in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers. The four-catch effort was Sanu's third straight to begin the season, while the yards were his most of 2013. Andy Dalton's No. 2 receiver has yet to find the end zone, however. He's barely on the fantasy radar as a WR5.
Delanie Walker goes for 49 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Delanie Walker TE TEN
Delanie Walker caught five passes for 49 yards in the Titans' Week 3 win over the Chargers. Walker saw eight targets -- a season high -- but also had a bad drop, something with which 49ers fans are familiar. Walker is a somewhat plodding, undersized tight end. He carries little or no appeal in re-draft leagues.
Tyler Eifert has one-catch afternoon vs. GB 09-22-2013
Tyler Eifert TE CIN
Tyler Eifert was held to one catch for seven yards in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers. Eifert was targeted only twice after drawing five looks in each of his first two games. Eifert is a bigger play-making threat at tight end for the Bengals than Jermaine Gresham, but the two should continue to cancel each other out going forward, making each an uninspiring TE2.
Pierre Thomas can't find running room 09-22-2013
Pierre Thomas RB NO
Pierre Thomas rushed 11 times for 28 yards and caught six passes for 39 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. With Mark Ingram (toe) inactive, Thomas saw a huge bump in snaps. He failed to convert a 3rd-and-1 --looking much like Ingram -- but did his thing in the passing game. Thomas was unlucky not to break a screen or crossing route for a big gainer. Anytime Ingram isn't in uniform, Thomas is going to have PPR appeal.
Kendall Wright goes for 71 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Kendall Wright WR TEN
Kendall Wright caught six passes for 71 yards in the Titans' Week 3 win over San Diego. He's now caught six balls in back-to-back games, putting Wright on the WR3 radar. He caught all six of his targets against the Chargers. Wright has some playmaking ability, though his quarterback and the Titans' run-heavy offense limit his fantasy appeal. He's a low-end starter.
Davone Bess catches seven passes for 67 yards 09-22-2013
Davone Bess WR CLE
Davone Bess caught seven passes for 67 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over Minnesota. Bess was mostly targeted on third downs and played the slot in all three-wide sets. He benefitted from Josh Gordon drawing heavy defensive attention in the second half and was featured in the short passing game, with his longest catch going for just 15 yards. Bess replaced Travis Benjamin at punt returner in second half and could continue to be used on special teams going forward.
Jermaine Gresham has four-catch afternoon 09-22-2013
Jermaine Gresham TE CIN
Jermaine Gresham caught four passes for 27 yards in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers, but also lost a fumble. Gresham out-targeted rookie teammate Tyler Eifert 5-2, but never made his presence felt outside of his fumble. With Eifert there to siphon away targets, Gresham is a very low-end TE2.
Justin Hunter catches 34-yard TD pass 09-22-2013
Justin Hunter WR TEN
Justin Hunter caught a 34-yard touchdown pass in the Titans' Week 3 win over the Chargers. He was only targeted twice, playing behind Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, and Kendall Wright. Fourth receivers don't have fantasy value in run-first offenses, but Hunter deserves a butt-pat for catching Sunday's game-winning TD.
Darren Sproles held in check by Cardinals 09-22-2013
Darren Sproles RB PHI
Darren Sproles rushed three times for 17 yards and caught four passes for 39 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. Sproles lost some screens and dump-offs to Pierre Thomas (six catches on six targets), who saw increased playing time with Mark Ingram (toe) inactive. Still, this quiet game from Sproles won't be the norm. The PPR dynamo feels close to breaking a big play every time he touches it and the Saints will throw underneath more once teams start double- and triple-teaming Jimmy Graham. Sproles remains a RB2 in full PPR formats heading into a Week 4 game against the Dolphins.
Vincent Brown held to 11 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Vincent Brown WR OAK
Vincent Brown caught two passes for 11 yards in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. His yardage totals through three games are 13, 26, and 11. Brown has been among the most disappointing early-season fantasy players. He will not be worth WR3 discussion in Week 4 against the Cowboys.
Eric Page has three-catch day in loss 09-22-2013
Eric Page WR TB
Second-year Bucs WR Eric Page caught the first three passes of his career in Tampa's Week 3 loss to the Patriots. Page somehow drew five targets, but 30 of his 55 yards came deep into garbage time. Brighter days aren't ahead for the former undrafted free agent.
Drew Brees has four total TDs in blowout win 09-22-2013
Drew Brees QB NO
Drew Brees completed 29-of-46 passes for 342 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Cardinals. It was Brees' eighth straight game with 300+ yards passing and he used a dominant Jimmy Graham to do it once again. That's not surprising. What was surprising was Brees' 6/21/1 rushing line -- the TD scamper was his first since Week 2 of last season and the 21 yards were his most since 2011. Brees' matchup gets a little tougher with Brent Grimes and the Dolphins coming to town in Week 3, but he'll still be the premier quarterback play in fantasy.
Tony Romo tosses 3 TDs in blowout win 09-22-2013
Tony Romo QB DAL
Tony Romo completed 17-of-24 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's Week 3 blowout win over the Rams. With DeMarco Murray running through the Rams' defense, Romo didn't have to do a whole lot. He hooked up with Dez Bryant for a two-yard touchdown to kick off the scoring in the first quarter, and then found Gavin Escobar and Dwayne Harris later for touchdown strikes. Romo will remain a back-end QB1 next week in San Diego.
Ronnie Brown vultures TD in Week 3 09-22-2013
Ronnie Brown RB HOU
Ronnie Brown rushed five times for six yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. He wasn't targeted. A rotational back behind Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead, Brown carries zero appeal in re-draft fantasy football leagues.
Josh Boyce still not a part of the offense 09-22-2013
Josh Boyce WR NE
Josh Boyce was held without a catch on one target in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs. Another week, another infinitesimal role four the fourth-round rookie. He's well off the fantasy radar.
Mathews held to 58 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Ryan Mathews RB SD
Ryan Mathews rushed 16 times for 58 yards in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. He got vultured by Ronnie Brown at the goal line and was not targeted in the passing game. Mathews is a talented back, but isn't used as an all-purpose player and runs behind a shoddy offensive line. He'll be a tough sell as more than a weak flex play when the Chargers face the Cowboys' defense in Week 4.
Patterson goes for 49 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN
Cordarrelle Patterson had two catches for 49 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Browns. Patterson was more involved in the passing game this week, but still only saw four targets from Christian Ponder and played behind Jerome Simpson in two-wide sets. The majority of his yardage came on an impressive 37-yard catch against single coverage in the second quarter. The Vikings still need to manufacture more touches for Patterson, who outplayed Simpson on a per-play basis despite limited snaps. He remains nothing more than a WR4 stash in re-draft leagues.
Garcon catches eight passes in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Pierre Garcon WR WAS
Pierre Garcon caught eight passes for 73 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions. Garcon saw a team-high 13 targets, and he now has 23 catches through three games. He caught 44 passes all of last season. Garcon was didn't see many targets deep downfield as he mainly worked the middle. He's locked in as Robert Griffin III's No. 1 target. He's going to be a weekly WR1/2. The Redskins travel to Oakland next week.
Keenan Allen has -4 yards in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Keenan Allen WR SD
Keenan Allen lost four yards on his lone reception in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. He was only targeted the one time. Filling in for Malcom Floyd, Allen is being asked to run isolation routes down the sideline, which doesn't suit the rookie's skill set. He's more of a Miles Austin-type player with 4.6/4.7 speed. Allen is not worth consideration in re-draft fantasy leagues.
Julian Edelman has seven-catch day vs. Bucs 09-22-2013
Julian Edelman WR NE
Julian Edelman caught seven passes for 44 yards in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs. It was a nondescript day for the Patriots' slot maven, though he actually averaged more yards per catch (6.28) than he did in his 13-catch Week 2 (6.0). Edelman is clearly Tom Brady's top option in the absence of Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola, but isn't doing anything more than catching the ball and immediately falling down. The PPR star is just a WR3 for standard-league purposes.
Alf Morris rushes for 73 yards, TD in loss 09-22-2013
Alfred Morris RB WAS
Alfred Morris rushed 15 times for 73 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Lions. Morris's 30-yard touchdown run around right tackle was his second end-zone visit of the young season. He was untouched on the play. Morris showed a lot more juice, shakes, and burst on Sunday than he had the first two weeks of the season. The Redskins are starting to get their read-option going, putting Morris back on the RB1 radar. Washington travels to Oakland next week.
Eddie Royal held to 34 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Eddie Royal WR SD
Eddie Royal was held to two catches for 34 yards in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Titans. He was only targeted twice. These are the kinds of stat lines that should be expected from Royal despite his wildly fluky Weeks 1-2 production. He lacks explosiveness as a receiver and counts heavily on targets for fantasy-viable numbers. Royal is going to hurt you when he isn't getting peppered with throws.
Andre Roberts held to one catch 09-22-2013
Andre Roberts WR WAS
Andre Roberts caught one pass for six yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Roberts saw four targets, good for fourth behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and Andre Ellington. Roberts now has a total of four catches for 42 yards over the last two weeks combined. He's not a viable WR3 until Carson Palmer and the offensive line starts playing better.
Ladarius Green goes for 48 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Ladarius Green TE SD
Chargers TE Ladarius Green caught two passes for 48 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Titans. Green secured both of his targets, making plays down the seam. Green does not have standalone re-draft fantasy value, but he's an intriguing Dynasty league commodity and could push for TE1 stats if Antonio Gates missed time.
Rob Housler catches one ball in loss 09-22-2013
Rob Housler TE ARZ
Rob Housler caught one pass for 13 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints.
Greg Jennings held to 43 yards in loss 09-22-2013
Greg Jennings WR MIN
Greg Jennings had three catches for 43 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss against the Browns. Jennings was targeted six times in the passing game and was shut down by Joe Haden for most of the game. He continues to be limited by Christian Ponder's inability to throw downfield, and has just 11 receptions for 160 yards through three games. Jennings was unable to come down with his only red-zone target at end of the first half and has yet to score a touchdown this season.
Antonio Gates has 55 yards & TD Sunday 09-22-2013
Antonio Gates TE SD
Antonio Gates caught five balls for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to Tennessee. Gates dominated on San Diego's first drive, one-handing a pretty pass down the sideline and getting in from seven yards out a few plays later. Unfortunately, Gates was quiet thereafter. Gates has still produced like a mid-range TE1 through three weeks, and he's looking awfully fit and moving well. Start him in fantasy leagues against the Jets in Week 4.
Jackie Battle held to 12 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Jackie Battle RB TEN
Jackie Battle carried four times for 12 yards in the Titans' Week 3 win over San Diego. Battle is filling in for Shonn Greene (knee scope) in the change-of-pace and "big back" role. He has no real fantasy value aside from random goal-line chances, which Battle hasn't gotten in back-to-back weeks.
New Vereen? Bolden tallies 8 touches vs. Bucs 09-22-2013
Brandon Bolden RB NE
Making his 2013 debut, Brandon Bolden (knee) rushed three times for 51 yards in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs, adding five catches for an additional 49 yards. Bolden got the "start," while his 100 yards from scrimmage led the Patriots' backfield. Quite interestingly, Bolden was the Patriots' preferred back in passing situations, even occasionally splitting out wide as a receiver a la Shane Vereen. This, after Bolden caught all of two passes in 10 games as a rookie. His 46-yard run in the third quarter was the longest of his career. The Patriots' backfield is fast becoming a headache, but Bolden is worth a flier if you need help in your PPR league. He's more valuable than LeGarrette Blount behind Stevan Ridley.
Danny Woodhead gets 12 touches in Wk 3 09-22-2013
Danny Woodhead RB SD
Danny Woodhead rushed five times for 31 yards and caught seven passes for 55 yards in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to Tennessee. He's now received at least 12 touches in back-to-back games. Woodhead isn't going to score touchdowns or rip off many big plays, but he'll be a PPR flex option all season. He was targeted eight times in the passing game Sunday.
Michael Floyd held to 4/49/0 in loss 09-22-2013
Michael Floyd WR ARZ
Michael Floyd caught four passes for 49 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Floyd had two nice catches on the first drive of the game, but stalled out from there as the Cardinals failed to give Carson Palmer any time. It's the third straight game that Floyd has been held to four catches or fewer. He does have a good matchup in Week 3 with Darrelle Revis likely to shadow Larry Fitzgerald, but it's hard to trust Floyd as much more than a WR4.
Megatron posts 7/115/1 line in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Calvin Johnson WR DET
Calvin Johnson caught seven passes for 115 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins. Megatron was targeted 13 times on the day. He was working against DeAngelo Hall on the outside and Josh Wilson in the slot all day long. Johnson could have had another touchdown, but Matthew Stafford overshot him on back-to-back plays on what could have been 14-yard touchdowns. After scoring just five times last season, Megatron has three scores through three games. The Lions take on the Bears next week.
Fitzgerald's hamstring holds up well 09-22-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Larry Fitzgerald caught five passes for 64 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Fitzgerald's hamstring was not an issue, but pass protection for Carson Palmer was. He rarely got more than a couple seconds in the pocket, leading to no chances for Fitzgerald to get downfield. The good news is that Fitz's hamstring held up for the entire game and he should be far closer to 100 percent in Week 4. The bad news is he'll be facing Darrelle Revis.
Nate Washington goes for 131 yards in win 09-22-2013
Nate Washington WR TEN
Nate Washington caught eight passes for 131 yards in the Titans' Week 3 win over the Chargers. Washington was spectacular, catching 8-of-10 targets as the focal point of Tennessee's passing game. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old is a lock for inconsistency in the Titans' spread-the-wealth pass attack on a run-first team. We wouldn't bother trying to chase Washington's Week 3 fantasy points into Week 4 against the Jets, where he'll likely see a lot of Antonio Cromartie.
Blount totals 65 yards on 14 carries 09-22-2013
LeGarrette Blount RB PIT
LeGarrette Blount led the Patriots' running backs in touches in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs, rushing 14 times for 65 yards. A whopping eight of Blount's rushes came with the Patriots draining the clock on their final drive of the afternoon, but it's still notable that he was the choice in the four-minute offense over Stevan Ridley. The Patriots' backfield had the look of a full-blown committee Sunday, with Blount getting 14 touches, Ridley 12 and newly activated Brandon Bolden eight. We still don't believe it's actually a committee - Ridley remains the Pats' most talented healthy back by a long-shot - but it would be disingenuous to insist there isn't at least a little smoke. Bolden, particularly, is looking like a good third-down bet going forward. With no passing-game chops, Blount remains the least valuable of the three.
Andre Ellington plays well once again 09-22-2013
Andre Ellington RB ARZ
Andre Ellington rushed three times for 19 yards and caught three passes for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Ellington was the second back through the rotation in the Cardinals three-man committee. He clearly has explosive skills in open space, consistently flashing in both the passing and running game. With the Cards clearly not fully committed to Rashard Mendenhall, Ellington is going to have some PPR value. Extreme deep leaguers should take a look.
Cameron scores three touchdown in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Jordan Cameron TE CLE
Jordan Cameron caught six passes for 66 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Vikings. Cameron had 11 targets and scored the game-winning touchdown on a seven-yard pass from Brian Hoyer. With Josh Gordon back from suspension, the Browns were able to use him more in the slot, and he was the clear-cut preferred option in the red-zone. Cameron scored one of his touchdowns on a fake field goal, but it was still a dominant performance. He's locked in as an every-week TE1 for the rest of the season.
Chris Johnson goes for 91 total yards 09-22-2013
Chris Johnson RB NYJ
Chris Johnson rushed 19 times for 90 yards and gained one yard on his lone reception in the Titans' Week 3 win over the Chargers. He now has three targets in the passing game on the season. Stripped of goal-line work and not getting action as a receiver, Johnson's fantasy value is going to be dependent on long runs all year. The Titans have an absolutely brutal schedule coming up, against the defenses of the Jets, Kansas City, Seattle, and San Francisco. Johnson owners should look to shop him this week.
Alfonso Smith gets a TD in loss 09-22-2013
Alfonso Smith RB SF
Alfonso Smith rushed three times for 27 yards with a touchdown and added a 7-yard reception in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Smith was the third running back to get a chance Sunday, behind starter Rashard Mendenhall and rookie Andre Ellington. But he impressively bounced off would-be tacklers for a 21-yard gain in the first quarter and stayed in to secure a 3-yard touchdown. Still, Smith, is behind Ellington for passing-back duties. We wouldn't waste a waiver add on him.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis has 10/29/1 line 09-22-2013
BenJarvus Green-Ellis RB CIN
BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed 10 times for 29 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's Week 3 loss to the Packers. He also lost a fumble, just the third of his career. As BJGE wheezed to 2.9 yards per carry, he watched rookie teammate Giovani Bernard take the rock 10 times for 50 yards and a score of his own. The LawFirm is now averaging just 2.8 yards through his first 46 carries, and splitting goal-line work with Bernard. With OC Jay Gruden hinting last week that a timeshare will likely be the law of the land going forward, Green-Ellis is just about out of fantasy value.
Rashard Mendenhall plays as part of committee 09-22-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Rashard Mendenhall rushed nine times for 29 yard and caught a 12-yard pass in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints. Mendenhall started and the toe injury did not appear to be an issue. But the Cards employed a true three-man committee, often leaving Mendy on the sidelines for long stretches. Alfonso Smith was in the game for a first-quarter chance from the 3-yard line and converted. Playing behind a woeful offensive line and serving as part of a three-headed monster, Mendy is a poor flex option weekly. He gets the Bucs in Week 4.
Jake Locker has outstanding Week 3 game 09-22-2013
Jake Locker QB TEN
Jake Locker completed 23-of-37 passes for 299 yards and a touchdown, and rushed five times for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Titans' Week 3 win over the Chargers. This was the best we've seen Locker look in his three-year NFL career. Despite several miscues by Kenny Britt, Locker was efficient and poised, and the Titans got him on the perimeter on quarterback keepers. Locker has long been maddeningly inconsistent and streaky, but he's also long been an intriguing QB2 because he has a powerful arm and athleticism. Locker, however, has a very difficult stretch upcoming against the Jets, Chiefs, Seattle, and San Francisco before Tennessee's Week 8 bye.
Gordon goes off for 146 yards, TD in debut 09-22-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
Josh Gordon had 10 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Vikings. He added one carry for 22 yards. Gordon was heavily involved on offense and targeted 19 times by Brian Hoyer. The Browns used him in both the short passing game and as their primary downfield receiver, with his 47-yard touchdown coming on an impressive double move against A.J. Jefferson. Assuming he doesn't get traded, Gordon will be a high-end WR3 for next week's matchup wtih the Bengals.
A.J. Green has 4/46/1 afternoon vs. Packers 09-22-2013
A.J. Green WR CIN
A.J. Green caught four passes for 46 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers.
Carson Palmer has no time in ugly loss 09-22-2013
Carson Palmer QB ARZ
Carson Palmer completed 18-of-35 passes for 187 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Saints.
Kenny Britt held catch-less in Week 3 09-22-2013
Kenny Britt WR STL
Kenny Britt was held without a catch in Week 3 against the Chargers. Britt just isn't a good football player right now. He's piling up penalties and not winning contested catches. He finished Sunday with five targets. We don't think Britt has looked bad physically, but he clearly isn't playing well. Fantasy owners should hope for a change of scenery before October's trade deadline.
Owen Daniels can't get up seam in loss 09-22-2013
Owen Daniels TE BAL
Owen Daniels caught five passes for 29 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Daniels led the Texans in targets with nine, but just about all of them came on quick hitches and short outs. He never got anything going down the seam or in the red zone. Daniels will be a low-end TE1 play against the Seahawks, but will get plenty of opportunities if Andre Johnson (shin) and Garrett Graham (groin) sit.
Zach Sudfeld held without a catch vs. Bucs 09-22-2013
Zach Sudfeld TE NYJ
Zach Sudfeld was held without a catch in two targets in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs. Sudfeld may have run the wrong route on his first target, and got manhandled on his second, resulting in a Tom Brady interception. Both mistakes were on Brady as much as Sudfeld, but put simply, good things haven't happened when the Pats have targeted the rookie tight end this season. He'll be completely off the fantasy radar once Rob Gronkowski returns, which could be as early as next weekend.
RGIII turns it over two times in Week 3 loss 09-22-2013
Robert Griffin III QB WAS
Robert Griffin III completed 32-of-50 passes for 326 yards and one interception in the Redskins' Week 3, 27-20 loss to the Lions.
Keshawn Martin gets two catches in loss 09-22-2013
Keshawn Martin WR HOU
Keshawn Martin caught two passes for 35 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Martin played every snap after Andre Johnson (shin) left in the third quarter. He's really a smallish return man that picked up 18 of his yards on a wide receiver screen. Even if Johnson misses time, Martin will be a weak add with the Texans facing the Seahawks in Week 4.
Adrian Peterson totals 115 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
Adrian Peterson RB MIN
Adrian Peterson had 25 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Browns. Peterson had a two-yard touchdown on the first drive of the game, but was limited to just 115 total yards by the Browns defense. With Jerome Felton suspended, DT Letroy Guion was forced to start at fullback and struggled with blocking assignments. Peterson managed to lead the Vikings in receptions, adding six catches for 27 yards. He fumbled for the second straight week and finished with 31 touches. Peterson will face another tough matchup in Week 4 against the Steelers.
Aaron Dobson has seven-catch afternoon 09-22-2013
Aaron Dobson WR NE
Aaron Dobson atoned for his nightmare Week 2 in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs, catching seven passes for 52 yards. One week after appearing lost, Dobson was very much on the same page with Tom Brady, hauling in 7-of-10 targets. Dobson would have had a touchdown if not for a Brady underthrow in the end zone. Dobson is likely to remain inconsistent going forward, but proved today he's at least going to remain a part of the offense. With Rob Gronkowski's return believed to be imminent and Danny Amendola's not far behind, Dobson is a pure WR5 bench stash for fantasy purposes.
Leodis McKelvin ruled out for game 09-22-2013
Leodis McKelvin CB BUF
Bills LCB Leodis McKelvin left Sunday's Week 3 game with a hamstring injury and will not return. He was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the contest, suggesting tests in the locker room showed a potentially severe injury. The Bills are also without CB Steph Gilmore (wrist surgery) and FS Jairus Byrd (plantar fasciitis).
King Dunlap suffers Week 3 concussion 09-22-2013
King Dunlap OT SD
Chargers LT King Dunlap suffered a concussion in Week 3. San Diego also lost LG Chad Rinehart to turf toe; neither returned. The other Chargers starting tackle, RT D.J. Fluker, was inactive with a concussion. San Diego is beginning to show the lack of depth and talent on its roster. The injuries are a big concern as the Bolts face DeMarcus Ware's Cowboys in Week 4.
Cameron Wake leaves Week 3 with knee injury 09-22-2013
Cameron Wake LB MIA
Dolphins LE Cameron Wake exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Falcons with a knee injury and is questionable to return. Wake was injured fairly early in the first quarter. He went to the locker room but later returned to the sidelines, suggesting it's not a serious issue. Second-year undrafted free agent DE Derrick Shelby is filling in.
Andre Johnson diagnosed with bad shin bruise 09-22-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Coach Gary Kubiak said Andre Johnson sustained a bad shin bruise in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Johnson sustained the injury shortly before halftime when Ravens LB Josh Bynes fell into his leg. Halftime X-rays came back negative, so Johnson tried to get back in the game in the third quarter. But he was limping badly and had to come out after a couple drives. Johnson finished with five catches for 36 yards.
Johnathan Franklin shows well in relief 09-22-2013
Johnathan Franklin RB GB
Thrust into action after starter James Starks went down with a knee injury, Johnathan Franklin rushed 13 times for 103 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals. Franklin added three catches for 23 yards, though his biggest play came in the fourth quarter, where he fumbled the ball away for a Bengals touchdown on 4th-and-inches. Big mistake aside, it was an extremely promising afternoon for the rookie fourth-rounder, who had been plagued by reports of unimpressive practices. He had much greater success against the Bengals' elite front seven than Starks. Eddie Lacy (concussion) should return as the starter after Green Bay's Week 4 bye, but Franklin has likely put himself back in play for change-of-pace duty. He's worth a bench stash in deeper leagues.
Daryl Richardson plays one snap in Week 3 09-22-2013
Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
Daryl Richardson played just one snap in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Cowboys. Richardson didn't receive a touch and has been battling a foot injury since Week 1. The foot got stepped on in Sunday's blowout loss, and the second-year running back was done for the day. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham handled the backfield load, though neither was overly impressive. Richardson's status for Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers looks questionable at best.
Steve Smith held to 40 yards in Wk 3 victory 09-22-2013
Steve Smith WR BAL
Steve Smith was held to three catches for 40 yards on seven targets in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants. He was briefly sidelined with a left hip injury, but only missed a couple of plays. Smith's yardage totals through three games are 51, 52, and 40. Though still a highly effective on-field player, Smith is no more than a WR3 in fantasy leagues. He does have some appeal as an interesting buy low.
James Jones catches 4 passes in loss to CIN 09-22-2013
James Jones WR OAK
James Jones caught four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals. The score was the unpredictable red-zone threat's first of the season. Through three games, Jones has now had one dud, one monster afternoon and one middling one. Jones is as hard to predict on a weekly basis as anyone in fantasy football, but is locked in as a WR3 in Green Bay's explosive offense.
DeAndre Hopkins catches six more balls 09-22-2013
DeAndre Hopkins WR HOU
DeAndre Hopkins caught six passes for 60 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Hopkins was looking at a dud until the second half, when the Texans were losing big and Andre Johnson left with a shin injury. It created a perfect storm for the first-round rookie to rack up targets. Hopkins continues to show well when given opportunities -- he has really strong hands and isn't afraid to go into traffic. Still, he'll only be a WR4 against the Seahawks elite corner duo next week unless Johnson misses time.
Brandon LaFell scores two TDs in Week 3 09-22-2013
Brandon LaFell WR NE
Brandon LaFell caught three passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants. LaFell's yardage totals through three weeks are 0, 13, and 53. Some fantasy owners will probably see his two touchdowns and rush to pick him up, but LaFell is the third option (behind Steve Smith and Greg Olsen) in the passing attack of a run-first team. He'll give you headaches if you try to lean on him.
Randall Cobb has five-catch afternoon 09-22-2013
Randall Cobb WR GB
Randall Cobb caught five passes for 54 yards in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals.
Olsen held to 54 yards in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Greg Olsen TE CAR
Greg Olsen caught four balls for 54 yards in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants. He also had a tough drop down the sideline. Cam Newton threw three touchdown passes, but this was a run-oriented approach from Carolina, leaving the pass catchers with mediocre to poor production. Olsen saw a team-high eight targets against the Giants, and will remain a back-end, relatively low-upside TE1 play in Week 5 against the Cardinals, following Carolina's Week 4 bye.
Ben Tate gets 12 touches in ugly loss 09-22-2013
Ben Tate RB CLE
Ben Tate rushed nine times for 36 yards and caught three passes for seven yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens.
Lions lose LE Jones to torn patellar tendon 09-22-2013
Jason Jones DT DET
Lions LE Jason Jones tore the patellar tendon in his left knee in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins and is done for the season.

Mike Garafolo on Twitter
Jones was carted off the field in the second quarter after his knee gave out on a non-contact play. The 27-year-old wasn't creating much pressure on the quarterback through two-plus games, and he was near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' 4-3 defensive end rankings. However, he was a valuable veteran presence up front. Willie Young and Israel Indonije will fill in at left end for the remainder of the season. Jones signed a three-year deal in March.
Jordy Nelson has 8/93 day vs. Bengals 09-22-2013
Jordy Nelson WR GB
Jordy Nelson caught eight passes for 93 yards in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals. Today was Nelson's first game of 2013 without a touchdown, but the eight grabs were a season high, while he's cleared at least 66 yards every time out. He did typically excellent work near the sideline. Nelson has reestablished himself as a WR1 coming off his injury-marred 2012.
Ponder manages two rushing touchdowns in loss 09-22-2013
Christian Ponder QB MIN
Christian Ponder completed 25-of-42 passes for 228 yards, an interception, and two rushing touchdowns in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Browns. He added five carries for 46 yards. Ponder struggled on third downs and looked skittish in the pocket, getting sacked six times and losing a fumble. He continues to rely on play-action and short completions, and was forced to check down to Kyle Rudolph and Adrian Peterson for most of the game. Through three weeks, Ponder is 59-or-100 (59 percent) for 691 yards with two touchdown and five interceptions. Matt Cassel remains a strong candidate to start games at some point this year.
Arian Foster gets 13 touches in loss 09-22-2013
Arian Foster RB HOU
Arian Foster rushed 12 times for 54 yards and caught one pass for negative-two yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Ben Tate ended up with 43 yards on 12 total touches. Foster was sliding through the Ravens defensive front well in the first half, but the Texans fell behind 24-9 early in the third quarter. From there, the run game was essentially abandoned. Foster remains the lead dog in this committee, but losing so many touches to Tate weekly caps his upside. Consider Foster more of a RB2 in a brutal Week 4 matchup with the Seahawks.
Kenbrell Thompkins has 3/41/2 day vs. Bucs 09-22-2013
Kenbrell Thompkins WR NE
Kenbrell Thompkins caught three passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs. Thompkins was still inefficient - he corralled just 3-of-7 targets - but looked far more comfortable than he did in his first two games, while some of his uncaught targets were the fault of Tom Brady. Thompkins' red-zone looks could dissipate with the impending return of Rob Gronkowski, but he remains worth a bench stash as a WR4/5 in all formats.
Giovani Bernard has five-catch day in loss 09-22-2013
Mike Williams WR BUF
Mike Williams caught a team-high five passes for 65 yards in Tampa's Week 3 loss to the Patriots. Williams' nine looks lead the Bucs on a day where Vincent Jackson missed the second-half with a rib injury. Williams missed time of his own with an undisclosed injury, but played through the ailment after the break. The boom-or-bust WR3 now has 11 catches for 126 yards and one touchdown through three games.
Victor Cruz held to 25 yards in loss 09-22-2013
Victor Cruz WR NYG
Victor Cruz was held to three catches for 25 yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. He led the team with eight targets, but noticeably alligator armed a few over the middle, and the Giants got nothing going in their passing game with Eli Manning taking seven sacks. Expect Cruz to return to form in Week 4 at Kansas City, which is very vulnerable to receivers who play in the slot.
Matt Schaub crashes back to earth 09-22-2013
Matt Schaub QB OAK
Matt Schaub completed 25-of-35 passes for 194 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Schaub came into this game with gaudy stats (644 passing yards, six touchdowns), but that can easily be written off as a fluke. The Ravens proved why on Sunday. Schaub struggled to throw in a muddied pocket and couldn't get anything going downfield. Things got even worse once Andre Johnson left with a shin injury in the third quarter. Heading into a brutal Week 4 matchup with the Seahawks, Schaub is what we thought he was -- a weak QB2.
Brandon Myers goes for 33 yards in loss 09-22-2013
Brandon Myers TE TB
Brandon Myers managed three catches for 33 yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. It was an unpredictably slow game for everyone in the Giants' pass-catching corps despite matching up with Carolina's injury-ruined secondary. Myers finished with six targets. He'll be a borderline, low-ceiling TE1 in Week 4 at K.C.
Hakeem Nicks held catch-less in defeat 09-22-2013
Hakeem Nicks WR IND
Hakeem Nicks was held without a catch in Week 3 against the Panthers. He was only targeted once. Nicks is healthy; the Giants just couldn't get the ball to him as Eli Manning absorbed seven sacks. Consider Nicks a WR2/3 option against Brandon Flowers' Chiefs at Arrowhead in Week 4.
Gio Bernard piles up 99 yards, touchdown 09-22-2013
Giovani Bernard RB CIN
Giovani Bernard rushed 10 times for 50 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers, adding four catches for an additional 49 yards. Bernard's 10/50 afternoon came as plodding starter BenJarvus Green-Ellis managed only 29 yards on 10 totes of his own, and also lost a rare fumble. OC Jay Gruden hinted earlier in the week that a 50-50 timeshare would soon be coming to his backfield, and Sunday suggested it's already here. Although BJGE also turned a goal-line look into a touchdown, Bernard has been Cincy's preferred red-zone back, and has predictably run circles around the LawFirm as a play-maker. Gio's workloads are only going to get bigger going forward. He's a strong FLEX option.
Marlon Brown very quiet in easy win 09-22-2013
Marlon Brown WR BAL
Marlon Brown caught just two passes for six yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans. The Ravens barely had the ball in the first half as they scored a defensive touchdown and brought back a punt for another score. In the second half, Joe Flacco stared down Torrey Smith and Dallas Clark while also relying on the running game. It resulted in just three targets for Brown, all of the underneath variety. He'll have bigger games when the Ravens go more pass-heavy -- but that likely won't be at Buffalo in Week 4.
Rueben Randle goes for 40 yards in loss 09-22-2013
Rueben Randle WR NYG
Rueben Randle caught two passes for 40 yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. It was a forgettable day for the Giants' passing "attack," as Randle led the team in yardage. Though Randle has some explosiveness and playmaking ability, he has been very inconsistent in the week-to-week box scores and will remain so unless Hakeem Nicks misses time. He's a WR4 at Kansas City in Week 4.
Stafford throws for 385 yards, 2 TDs in win 09-22-2013
Matthew Stafford QB DET
Matthew Stafford completed 25-of-42 passes for 385 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Redskins.
Brian Hoyer leads Browns to upset win 09-22-2013
Brian Hoyer QB CLE
Brian Hoyer completed 30-of-54 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Vikings. Hoyer led the Browns on a game-winning 11-play, 55-yard scoring drive with a touchdown pass to Jordan Cameron with under a minute remaining. He was sacked three times and had three turnovers, but was able to move the offense with more success than Brandon Weeden and did enough to keep the starting quarterback job. Hoyer showed an immediate connection with Josh Gordon and targeted him 19 times in the passing game, including a 47-yard touchdown on the second series of the game. Despite the surprisingly strong performance, Hoyer isn't on the QB2 radar for Week 4 against the Bengals.
Dallas Clark gets four catches in win 09-22-2013
Dallas Clark TE BAL
Dallas Clark caught four passes for 46 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans.
Andy Dalton throws for 244 yards in loss 09-22-2013
Aaron Rodgers QB GB
Aaron Rodgers completed 26-of-43 passes for 244 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Green Bay's Week 3 loss to the Bengals.
Brandon Jacobs goes for 2 yards in Wk 3 loss 09-22-2013
Brandon Jacobs RB NYG
Brandon Jacobs rushed three times for two yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris joked that he made a sandwich on Jacobs' two-yard run off the left edge. He has no juice whatsoever. Jacobs can be a goal-line vulture, but nothing more. He's barely worth owning in fantasy leagues.
Da'Rel Scott gets 3 touches in defeat 09-22-2013
Da'Rel Scott RB NYG
Giants RB Da'Rel Scott rushed once for five yards and caught two passes for 17 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss at Carolina. The Giants are using Scott strictly as a passing-down back, which isn't going to translate to fantasy value. He also has a limited skill set as a runner. Leave Scott quarantined to the waiver wire in 12-team leagues.
Torrey Smith gets going in second half 09-22-2013
Torrey Smith WR BAL
Torrey Smith caught five passes for 92 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans. After a quiet first half that saw the Texans dominate time of possession, Smith got going with some really tough catches in traffic. He led the Ravens in targets with nine and continues to get a fistful of deep shots from Joe Flacco weekly. Smith doesn't have any touchdowns yet this season, but it's coming. He'll be a very strong WR3 play at Buffalo's banged-up secondary in Week 4.
Shaun Draughn assumes backup duties 09-22-2013
Shaun Draughn RB SD
Shaun Draughn rushed four times for two yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans. With Ray Rice (hip) sidelined, Draughn operated as Bernard Pierce's backup. He also brought back two kickoffs for 53 yards.
Panthers sack Eli 7 times in 38-0 shelling 09-22-2013
Eli Manning QB NYG
Eli Manning absorbed seven sacks in the Giants' Week 3 loss to Carolina, completing 12-of-23 passes for 119 yards and an interception. He rushed once for 14 yards. The Panthers' seven sacks tied a franchise single-game high, and now they should get the credit they deserve after dominating a high-profile opponent 38-0. The front seven is probably top five in the league. Manning is getting zero help from his offensive line and running game, which makes a Week 4 date with the pass rush-rich Chiefs that much more ominous. Consider Eli a QB2 only in that game.
Dalton throws for two scores in win over GB 09-22-2013
Andy Dalton QB CIN
Andy Dalton completed 20-of-28 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Cincinnati's 34-30 Week 3 win over the Packers. He also lost a fumble. As usual, Dalton ran hot and cold, sticking a number of impressive throws but also making some terrible decisions, particularly in the first half. His pick came on a telegraphed sideline route to A.J. Green, while his fumble while an ill-advised rush attempt as he tried to avoid a sack. Dalton isn't the liability Josh Freeman or Christian Ponder are, but has made it painfully clear through three games he's still not going to be the reason Cincinnati wins games. He's a pure QB2.
Joique racks up 132 yards, TD in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Joique Bell RB DET
Joique Bell rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries in the Lions' 27-20, Week 3 win over the Redskins. Bell added another 69 yards on four catches out of the backfield. Getting the spot start in place of Reggie Bush (knee, inactive), Bell was a lock to see 18-plus touches. He runs tough, and the Redskins have shown early this season that they can't tackle anyone. Bell broke several tackles, churning up extra yards after contact all day long. His touchdown came from 12 yards out in the first quarter. Bush is going to be back in the starting lineup next week against the Bears. Bell remains a guy to own in all formats as Bush's No. 2.
Joe Flacco silent, Ravens still roll 09-22-2013
Joe Flacco QB BAL
Joe Flacco completed 16-of-24 passes for 171 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Texans. The Ravens didn't need Flacco in this one. Daryl Richardson returned a Matt Schaub interception for a touchdown and Tandon Doss took a punt return for a touchdown. From there, the Ravens just rode their defense and grinded down the clock. After a Week 1 game that saw him attempt an absurd 62 passes, Flacco has attempted a total of 57 in the last two weeks. He's just a weak QB2, even against the Bills in Week 4.
Ted Ginn has big game against Giants 09-22-2013
Ted Ginn WR ARZ
Ted Ginn caught three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for 11 yards in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants. He added a 12-yard punt return. Ginn has played surprisingly well at receiver early this season, but is a No. 3 wideout on a run-first team and will inevitably encounter major fantasy bumps in the road. He's not worth a roster spot in 12-team leagues.
Doug Martin totals 108 yards in loss to Pats 09-22-2013
Doug Martin RB TB
Doug Martin rushed 20 times for 88 yards in the Bucs' Week 3 loss to the Patriots, adding two catches for 20 yards. With the Pats bearing down on the box thanks to Josh Freeman's ineptitude, there just weren't many running lanes to come by. All things considered, it was a positive that Martin still managed 4.4 yards per carry. Interestingly, Martin also split out a handful of times as an outside receiver, narrowly missing a deep ball touchdown in the process. The deteriorating situation in Tampa may have some Martin owners worried, but he's done nothing through the first three weeks to suggest he's anything other than a high-end RB1. The Bucs get the Cardinals in Week 4.
David Wilson held to 39 yards in Week 3 09-22-2013
David Wilson RB NYG
David Wilson rushed 11 times for 39 yards in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Wilson was repeatedly hit in the backfield early in the game, before finding something of a late-game rhythm and breaking off several impressive runs between the tackles. He also had a 17-yard touchdown called back on a holding penalty by LT William Beatty. Wilson has elite talent, but he's going to need more help from his teammates and coaching staff before he gets back on track. Consider Wilson a dicey flex play in Week 4 at Kansas City. Wilson remains a recommended buy low in fantasy with a favorable schedule thereafter.
Bernard Pierce runs for 65 yards, TD in start 09-22-2013
Bernard Pierce RB BAL
Bernard Pierce rushed 24 times for 65 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 30-9 Week 3 win over the Texans. With Ray Rice (hip) sidelined, Pierce turned into a workhorse. While he doesn't have the same pass-catching chops (2 catches for seven yards) as the starter, Pierce has really good burst and gets tough yards. His 2.7 YPC Sunday was a testament to the Texans' defensive front. Pierce did come up a little lame after hurdling over Ed Reed in the fourth quarter, but only missed a couple plays. If Rice sits out Week 4 at Buffalo, Pierce will be a very strong RB2.
Dez Bryant held to four catches in Week 3 win 09-22-2013
Dez Bryant WR DAL
Dez Bryant caught four passes for 38 yards and one touchdown in Dallas' Week 3 blowout win over the Rams on Sunday. Bryant kicked off the scoring with a two-yard touchdown on the opening drive. He got away with a blatant push-off against Cortland Finnegan on the score. The Rams took Bryant away for most of the day with bracket coverage. The Cowboys didn't need him with DeMarco Murray doing whatever he pleased on the ground. Bryant and the Cowboys travel to San Diego next Sunday afternoon.
Giants lose FB Hynoski to fractured shoulder 09-22-2013
Henry Hynoski RB NYG
The Giants announced Sunday that FB Henry Hynoski fractured his shoulder in Week 3 against the Panthers. Adding injury to insult after their 38-0 loss Sunday. The Giants have a capable backup lead blocker in TE Bear Pascoe, but Hynoski's loss won't help David Wilson's chances of turning his season around. In terms of sheer lane-clearing ability, the "Hynocerous" is a top-five lead blocker in the league.
Tolbert scores TD, gets nine carries 09-22-2013
Mike Tolbert RB CAR
Mike Tolbert rushed nine times for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants. The Panthers are using Tolbert as a change-of-pace back behind DeAngelo Williams and sometimes goal-line vulture. He got in from two yards out in the first quarter Sunday. Tolbert would be a borderline every-week RB2/flex if 30-year-old Williams missed time, so we like Tolbert as a lottery-ticket bench stash. Williams is not used to getting as many carries as he has.
Ridley out-touched by Blount in win over Bucs 09-22-2013
Stevan Ridley RB NE
Stevan Ridley rushed 11 times for 35 yards in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs, getting out-touched 14-12 by backup LeGarrette Blount.
DeAngelo Williams goes for 120 in victory 09-22-2013
DeAngelo Williams RB CAR
DeAngelo Williams rushed 23 times for 120 yards and lost three yards on his lone reception in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Giants. Williams is just a back who gets what's blocked at this stage, but the volume was there and has been there in each of Carolina's first three games. He's a weekly flex play. Williams was vultured at the goal line for two touchdowns against the Giants, the first by Mike Tolbert from two yards out and the second by Cam Newton from three yards away. The Panthers have a Week 4 bye. Williams will be a solid fantasy start in Week 5 at Arizona.
Unstoppable Jimmy Graham snags 2 more TDs 09-22-2013
Jimmy Graham TE NO
Jimmy Graham caught nine passes for 134 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-7 Week 3 win over the Cardinals.
Josh Freeman dreadful in loss to Patriots 09-22-2013
Josh Freeman QB NYG
Josh Freeman struggled in Tampa Bay's Week 3 loss to the Patriots, completing just 19-of-41 passes for 236 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception. Freeman was hurt by a host of drops and the second-half loss of Vincent Jackson (ribs), but was mostly as dreadful as the box score would indicate. He simply doesn't throw an on-the-money ball, missing far too many open receivers. Things got so bad at one point in the second half that backup Mike Glennon began to warm up, but coach Greg Schiano opted against eroding what little remains of his starting quarterback's confidence. A change is beginning to appear inevitable, however. Freeman owners in two-QB leagues would do well to clear a roster spot for Glennon.
Bradford sacked six times in blowout loss 09-22-2013
Sam Bradford QB STL
Sam Bradford completed 29-of-48 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in the Rams' Week 3, 31-7 blowout loss to the Cowboys. Bradford was sacked six times after the Rams' offensive line failed to surrender a sack in the season's first two games. Bradford is approaching Alex Smith level as a master of the check-down pass. The problem is he possesses a far bigger arm than Smith. Bradford seems to just take the short pass almost immediately more times than not. Either OC Brian Schottenheimer is being ultra-conservative with his play calling, or Bradford needs to man up and start taking some shots. Coach Jeff Fisher also isn't a fan of the no-huddle, hurry-up offense in which Bradford excels for some reason. All of the offensive weapons are going to waste. The Rams host the 49ers this upcoming Thursday night. It could get ugly.
Brady totals 225 yards, 2 TDs vs. Tampa Bay 09-22-2013
Tom Brady QB NE
Tom Brady completed 25-of-36 passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in New England's 23-3 Week 3 win over the Bucs. Brady and the Pats came out of the gates slow, giving Tampa a chance to build a big early lead. The Bucs didn't take advantage, however, and New England seized control of the game midway through the second quarter, never looking back. Brady missed an unusual number of throws today - particularly low - but showed a noticeably improved rapport with rookies Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson. With Rob Gronkowski looking likely to return in Week 4, the worst should be behind Brady and his fantasy owners. The beat up Falcons are on deck for Week 4.
Back in business: Cam shreds Giants for 4 TDs 09-22-2013
Cam Newton QB CAR
Cam Newton completed 15-of-27 throws for 223 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and had seven carries for 45 yards and a fourth score in Sunday's dominating, 38-0 victory over the Giants. He didn't play the final three minutes with the game out of hand. We were concerned with Newton after his first two games because OC Mike Shula wasn't letting him run, but the game plan changed today, and Shula's resiliency is promising for Newton moving forward. While he still lacks elite accuracy and can be a somewhat up-and-down performer, Newton is back in business as a top-five weekly quarterback start. Shula noticeably used Cam on several designed runs Sunday after doing so sparingly in Weeks 1-2. The Panthers have a Week 4 bye, and then face the Cardinals in Arizona in Week 5.
Murray totals 203 yards, TD in rout of Rams 09-22-2013
DeMarco Murray RB DAL
DeMarco Murray rushed for 175 yards and one touchdown on 26 carries in the Cowboys' Week 3, 31-7 rout of the Rams. Murray added another 28 yards on three catches. He did whatever he wanted against the Rams' porous defense, even leaving some yards out on the field. The Cowboys said they wanted to run the ball more this week. After jumping out to an easy 24-0 lead, they were able to just hand the ball off the Murray. He didn't even play the fourth quarter. With Murray calling it a day and getting some rest on the sidelines, Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar got some run. Murray and the Cowboys travel to San Diego next week. The Chargers allowed over 170 yards on the ground to the Titans this week. Murray is firmly on the RB2 radar.
Jamarca Sanford exits with hamstring injury 09-22-2013
Jamarca Sanford S WAS
Vikings SS Jamarca Sanford exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Browns with a hamstring injury. He's not expected to return. With Mistral Raymond (shoulder) inactive, Andrew Sendejo has replaced Sanford at strong safety.
Jordan Reed exits with knee contusion 09-22-2013
Jordan Reed TE WAS
Redskins TE Jordan Reed exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Lions with a knee contusion and is questionable to return. Reed left early in the fourth quarter and slammed his helmet to the ground in frustration. He and Logan Paulsen were handling tight end duties with Fred Davis out with an ankle injury.
Andre Johnson struggling through leg injury 09-22-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson left Sunday's Week 3 game at Baltimore in the third quarter with a leg injury. In the second quarter, Johnson was on the ground after a catch when Ravens LB Josh Bynes fell into his lower leg. Johnson did come back after halftime, but only lasted a couple drives. By the end of the third quarter, he was limping on the sidelines and threw his helmet off in disgust. Johnson's Week 3 will end with just five catches for 36 yards.
Vincent Jackson leaves game with rib injury 09-22-2013
Vincent Jackson WR TB
Vincent Jackson was forced from Sunday's game against the Patriots with a rib injury, and is questionable to return. V-Jax was seen getting worked on early in the second half, and has yet to return. He's likely done for the day. Mike Williams has also missed time with an unknown injury, but the Bucs haven't updated his status. Jackson had three catches for 34 yards before departing, and also dropped a potential touchdown.
Bills declare Week 3 inactives 09-22-2013
Jairus Byrd S NO
Bills declared S Jairus Byrd, K Dustin Hopkins, CB Stephon Gilmore, CB Ron Brooks, G Doug Legursky, WR Marquise Goodwin, and TE Chris Gragg inactive for Week 3 against the Jets. Byrd's plantar fasciitis is still too big a problem for him to play on game days. Hopkins, Gilmore, Brooks, Legursky, and Goodwin also all have injuries.
T.Y. Hilton active for Week 3 against Niners 09-22-2013
T.Y. Hilton WR IND

Brandon Browner active for Seahawks 09-22-2013
Brandon Browner CB NE
Brandon Browner (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Jaguars.
Miles Austin exits with hamstring injury Sun. 09-22-2013
Miles Austin WR CLE
Miles Austin exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Rams with a hamstring injury and is questionable to return. And so it begins for Austin. He's been battling hamstring issues for the last few seasons. Austin caught two passes for 22 yards on five targets before leaving. Dwayne Harris is in the game with Terrance Williams and Dez Bryant.
Spencer Ware inactive for Seahawks 09-22-2013
Spencer Ware RB SEA
Seahawks declared RB Spencer Ware (ankle) inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Jaguars. Ware sustained a sprain late in the Week 2 win over the 49ers. It means Christine Michael is active. The rest of the Seahawks inactives: DB Jeron Johnson, LB Malcolm Smith, DL D'Anthony Smith, DL Benson Mayowa and DL Jordan Hill.
Aldon Smith active for Week 3 against Colts 09-22-2013
Aldon Smith DE SF
49ers OLB Aldon Smith is active for Week 3 against the Colts. The 49ers could have sent a clear - and needed - message by benching Smith two days after his second DWI, but have decided winning this afternoon's game is more important. Smith has 3.5 sacks through his first two games.
Vernon Davis (hamstring) inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Vernon Davis TE SF
Vernon Davis (hamstring) is inactive for Week 3 against the Colts. Davis was barely spotted in pre-game warmups, suggesting he wasn't actually a game-time decision, and never had a legit shot to play. Davis has been deleted from this week's tight end ranks. Rookie Vance McDonald will get the start at tight end. Going on what little information we have, Davis should be considered week to week. Also inactive for the 49ers are QB B.J. Daniels, WR Chris Harper, RB LaMichael James, LB Nate Stupar, OG Joe Looney and WR Jon Baldwin.
Jets declare Week 3 inactives 09-22-2013
Brady Quinn QB MIA
Jets declared QB Brady Quinn, LB Ricky Sapp, OL William Campbell, OT Ben Ijalana, OL Oday Aboushi, WR Ryan Spadola, and LB Scott Solomon inactive for Week 3 against the Bills. Quinn is the Jets' third-string quarterback behind Geno Smith and Matt Simms. Quinton Coples is back from an ankle injury and will make his season debut.
Vikings CB Cook leaves game with groin injury 09-22-2013
Chris Cook CB SF
Vikings CB Chris Cook left Sunday's Week 3 game against the Browns with a groin injury. Cook was injured during the first half and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. The Vikings will go with A.J. Jefferson at right cornerback.
Redskins OLB Jenkins leaves with ankle injury 09-22-2013
Brandon Jenkins LB WAS
Redskins rookie OLB Brandon Jenkins exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Lions with a right ankle injury and will not return. The fifth-round pick out of Florida State was injured very early in the first half. Jenkins played just 16 snaps on defense in the first two games.
Mike Wallace active for Week 3 vs. Falcons 09-22-2013
Mike Wallace WR MIA
Mike Wallace (groin) is active and will start Sunday's Week 3 game against the Falcons. No surprise here. Start Wallace as a WR2/3 with confidence. The Dolphins' inactives are QB Pat Devlin, CB Jamar Taylor, CB Dimitri Patterson, LB Josh Kaddu, G Danny Watkins, G/T Dallas Thomas, and NT Paul Soliai.
James Starks departs game with knee injury 09-22-2013
James Starks RB GB
James Starks was forced from Green Bay's Week 3 game against the Bengals with a knee injury, and is questionable to return. Starks suffered the injury just before halftime, and was spotted on the sideline with his helmet off to begin the third quarter. He appears done for the day, meaning the Packers are down to just underwhelming rookie Johnathan Franklin at running back. Starks was a decent day on the ground before departing, notching 55 yards on 14 carries (3.9 yards per carry).
Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) will play at SEA 09-22-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) is active for Sunday's game at Seattle.

Browns RE Billy Winn left Sunday's Week 3 game against the Vikings with a right knee injury. Winn suffered the knee injury at the end of the first half. His return is questionable.
Roddy, Julio both active; SJ39 out for Week 3 09-22-2013
Roddy White WR ATL
Roddy White (ankle) and Julio Jones (knee) are both active and will start Sunday's Week 3 game against the Dolphins. As expected. Look for White to be limited for the the third straight week, while Jones is locked in as a top-five receiver play. The Falcons' inactives are Steven Jackson (thigh), S Kemal Ishmael, S Zeke Motta, LB Jamar Chaney, G/C Harland Gunn, LT Sam Baker, and DT Travian Robertson.
Steve Smith leaves with hip injury 09-22-2013
Steve Smith WR BAL
Steve Smith exited Sunday's game against the Giants with a left hip injury, but returned shortly thereafter. After being down for a few minutes, Smith walked off the field without much of a limp. Trainers put padding on his hip, and he reentered after a few plays.
Rams DE Hayes leaves with knee injury 09-22-2013
William Hayes DE STL
Rams DE William Hayes exited Sunday's Week 3 game with a knee injury and is doubtful to return. Hayes left in the first quarter before returning for one play. He limped off and appears to be done for the day. Eugene Sims will be the No. 3 end.
Lions DE Jason Jones carted off 09-22-2013
Jason Jones DT DET
Lions LE Jason Jones was carted off the field with a left knee injury in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Redskins. Jones' knee looked like it just gave out on him as he was rushing the passer midway through the second quarter. Willie Young replaced Jones at left end.
Pack's Finley officially out with concussion 09-22-2013
Jermichael Finley TE GB
Jermichael Finley suffered a concussion in Green Bay's Week 3 game against the Bengals, and will not return. Finley got his neck snapped back on a head shot, though Bengals S George Iloka was leading with his shoulder, not his helmet. Finley staggered off the field, so it was never realistic to expect him to return. The Packers are now left with Andrew Quarless at tight end. Finley had yet to make a catch before going down.
Orakpo being evaluated for head injury 09-22-2013
Brian Orakpo LB WAS
Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo exited Sunday's Week 3 game against the Lions with a head injury but later returned. Orakpo has eight tackles and one sack through two games. Veteran Darryl Tapp took the reps opposite Ryan Kerrigan while Orakpo was out.
Jermichael Finley leaves game after head shot 09-22-2013
Jermichael Finley TE GB
Jermichael Finley was forced from Green Bay's Week 3 game against the Bengals with a head injury. Attempting to make a difficult catch over the middle, Finley got his neck snapped back on a brutal, but legal, hit. Finley staggered off the field, appearing disoriented, and is almost certainly done for the day.
Terrence Cody sprains knee Sunday 09-22-2013
Terrence Cody DT BAL
Ravens NT Terrence Cody sprained his knee in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Texans and is doubtful to return. Cody was in a ton of pain as he was lying on the field, clutching the leg of the Ravens trainers. Third-round rookie NT Brandon Williams is inactive, leaving the Ravens a little thin behind Haloti Ngata.
Donald Butler not playing against Titans 09-22-2013
Donald Butler LB SD
Although Chargers ILB Donald Butler (groin) is active for Week 3, he is not playing against the Titans. He's on the sideline in full gear and is not expected to play any snaps. Butler suffered a groin injury in Week 2 and barely practiced during the week. San Diego is without both of its starting inside linebackers, as rookie Manti Te'o (foot) also has yet to make his NFL debut.
Henry Hynoski leaves with shoulder injury 09-22-2013
Henry Hynoski RB NYG
Giants FB Henry Hynoski exited Sunday's Week 3 game with a shoulder injury. Hynoski is a pile-driving lead blocker, so his loss would be bad news for the Giants' running game. He's having X-rays and his return is questionable.
Dez Bryant won't get injection 09-22-2013
Dez Bryant WR DAL
Dez Bryant did not get a pain-killing injection in his back prior to Sunday's Week 3 game against the Rams.

ESPN Dallas
Bryant's back tightened up on him a little bit following last week's 9/141/1 demolition of Brandon Flowers and the Chiefs. He sat out of practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he is not expected to be limited Sunday. Dez is an obvious WR1 in all formats.
Lions turned down trade overtures on Leshoure 09-22-2013
Mikel LeShoure RB DET
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Lions "quickly rebuffed" trade overtures from the Colts last week regarding Mikel Leshoure.

CBS Sports
Leshoure has been a healthy scratch for each of Detroit's first three games. Colts GM Ryan Grigson reportedly also called the Vikings about Toby Gerhart before settling on sending a first-round pick to the Browns for Trent Richardson. It's interesting that the Lions were opposed to dealing Leshoure. Perhaps they'll change their minds when Reggie Bush's knee is back to 100 percent.
Report: M. Ingram may ask out of New Orleans 09-22-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports league sources believe Mark Ingram may soon ask the Saints for a trade.

CBS Sports
Ingram's role in the Saints' backfield is "nebulous," and the Saints have five tailbacks on their current 53-man roster. They could move forward with impressive UDFA Khiry Robinson behind Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas. An Ingram trade could work to everyone's benefit. He could have more fantasy value in a different offense, and his departure from the Nola would help Thomas.
Danny Amendola has a chance to play Week 4 09-22-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
Sources tell Yahoo Sports that Danny Amendola (groin) "might play" as soon as Week 4.

Yahoo Sports
Dan Williams' father killed en route to Nola 09-22-2013
Dan Williams DT ARZ
Cardinals NT Dan Williams' father was killed in a car accident while driving to New Orleans to see his son play.

Kent Somers on Twitter
Williams is understandably not active Sunday in the wake of this horrific tragedy. His family lived in Memphis and often traveled to see him play for the Cardinals. Williams' mom and sister were also in the car. Their status is unknown.
Brandon Myers active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Brandon Myers TE TB
Brandon Myers is active for Week 3 against the Panthers. Myers was really banged up after taking a bunch of shots to the ribs in Week 2, but his Week 3 status was never in doubt. He's in the starting lineup.
Redskins K Forbath out for Week 3 09-22-2013
Kai Forbath K WAS

Michael Cox RB NYG
Giants declared RB Michael Cox, CB Corey Webster, T David Diehl, TE Adrien Robinson, OL Brandon Mosley, QB Ryan Nassib, and DT Johnathan Hankins inactive for Week 3 at Carolina. There are no surprises here. Cox is the Giants' No. 4 tailback behind David Wilson, Brandon Jacobs, and Da'Rel Scott.

Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch cautions to "keep an eye on" Daryl Richardson (foot) in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Cowboys.

Jim Thomas on Twitter
Willis McGahee officially active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Willis McGahee is officially active for Week 3.

Tony Grossi on Twitter
McGahee was signed on Thursday and is expected to be available for limited snaps. The Browns will go with Bobby Rainey and Chris Ogbonnaya as their primary running backs Sunday against the Vikings.
Cowboys LE Spencer active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Anthony Spencer LB DAL
Cowboys LE Anthony Spencer (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Rams. Spencer missed practice on Wednesday and Friday this past week, but the Cowboys said they held him out on Friday because it had just rained and the turf was slick. He'll get the start and have a nice opportunity to get a sack or two against Rams fill-in RT Joe Barksdale. The Cowboys' inactives: RB Joseph Randle, LB Ernie Sims, G David Arkin, T Darrion Weems, TE Andre Smith, DT David Carter, and DE Caesar Rayford.
Browns RG Lauvao (ankle) inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Shawn Lauvao G WAS
Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) is inactive for Week 3 against the Vikings. With Lauvao sidelined, struggling fill-in RG Oniel Cousins will continue to start. The rest of the Browns inactives are QB Brandon Weeden, OLB Quentin Groves, DT Armonty Bryant, OL Martin Wallace, and TE Keavon Milton.
Manti Te'o inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Manti Te'o LB SD
Chargers declared LB Manti Te'o, QB Brad Sorensen, S Brandon Taylor, CB Shareece Wright, LB Tourek Williams, OT D.J. Fluker, and WR Malcolm Floyd inactive for Week 3 against the Titans. Te'o (foot) has yet to confirm his regular season existence.
Ray Rice will sit out, Bernard Pierce starts 09-22-2013
Ray Rice RB BAL
Ravens declared Ray Rice (hip) inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Texans, ending his 43-game consecutive played streak. As expected. Reports from Saturday said that the Ravens are tentatively expected to hold Rice out until Week 5 just to be safe with his hip flexor strain. That means exciting backup Bernard Pierce gets his chance to be a feature back and we expect him to excel. Pierce is a very solid RB2 play. The rest of the Ravens inactives: WR Deonte Thompson, WR Jacoby Jones, C/G Ryan Jensen, DT Brandon Williams, DE Chris Canty and LB Arthur Brown.
Rams declare Week 3 inactives 09-22-2013
Zac Stacy RB STL
Rams declared RB Zac Stacy, TE Mike McNeill, G/C Barrett Jones, G Brandon Washington, RT Rodger Saffold, T Mike Person, and DE Gerald Rivers inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Cowboys. Stacy is behind Benny Cunningham and Chase Reynolds in the backfield because the other two play special teams. Joe Barksdale will start at right tackle.
Brandon Bolden (knee) active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Brandon Bolden RB NE
Patriots RB Brandon Bolden (knee) is active for Week 3 against the Bucs. Bolden will be making his season debut. He could eventually slide in as Stevan Ridley's direct backup, but for now LeGarrette Blount should continue to hold onto No. 2 duties.
Kendall Wright is active for Week 3 09-22-2013
Kendall Wright WR TEN
Kendall Wright is active for Week 3 against the Chargers. This was expected because Wright was active following last week's concussion. The Titans' inactives are RB Shonn Greene, DT Sammie Hill, C Brian Schwenke, OT Byron Stingily, DE LaVar Edwards, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, and LB Zaviar Gooden.
Scuffling Mark Ingram (toe) won't play Sunday 09-22-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
Saints declared Mark Ingram (toe) inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Cardinals. Averaging just 1.82 YPC on the season and consistently hurting his team by leaving yards on the field, Ingram's role was set to be reduced anyway. This toe injury should be the final straw for fantasy owners in standard-sized leagues. Ingram's absence turns Pierre Thomas into a viable flex play, especially in PPR formats. Through two weeks, these two have combined to average 19.5 touches per game. Thomas is a candidate for 12-15 touches Sunday. The rest of the Saints inactives: CB Rod Sweeting, S Roman Harper, S Isa Abdul-Quddus, NT Brodrick Bunkley, WR Nick Toon and DE Tom Johnson.
Margus Hunt headlines Bengals' inactives 09-22-2013
Margus Hunt DE CIN
Bengals declared DE Margus Hunt, CB Brandon Ghee, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, OG Mike Pollak, RB Rex Burkhead, OT Anthony Collins and WR Ryan Whalen inactive for Week 3 against the Packers. It's Hunt's third straight healthy scratch. As any viewer of Hard Knocks knows, Hunt boasts no shortage of natural ability, but is still too raw to make an impact on a weekly basis. Kirkpatrick left Monday's game against the Steelers with a hamstring issue, and is week to week.
Vikings release Week 3 inactives 09-22-2013
Mistral Raymond S MIN
Vikings declared SS Mistral Raymond, QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson, TE Rhett Ellison, LB Gerald Hodges, OG Jeff Baca, DT Chase Baker and DE George Johnson inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Browns. Raymond is still dealing with a shoulder injury and has yet to appear in a game this season. Harrison Smith (shoulder), Kevin Williams (knee), Erin Henderson (heel) are all active and starting this week.
Rashard Mendenhall active, as expected 09-22-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Rashard Mendenhall (toe) is active for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Saints. Mendenhall's toe injury was never considered overly serious and he was able to practice on Friday. He gets to face a Saints defense giving up an absurd 5.3 YPC to opponents so far this year.
Reggie Bush inactive, Bell to start vs. Skins 09-22-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Reggie Bush (knee) is inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Redskins, and Joique Bell will start at running back. As expected. Get Bush out of fantasy lineups, and plug Bell in confidently. Bell should see 15-20 touches against the Redskins' Swiss-cheese defense. Look for Bush to suit up next week. The rest of the Lions' inactives are WR Patrick Edwards, QB Kellen Moore, S Don Carey, RT Jason Fox, OG Leroy Harris, and DE Devin Taylor.
Larry Fitzgerald, Mendenhall are both active 09-22-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) and Rashard Mendenhall (toe) are both active for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Eddie Lacy officially inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Eddie Lacy RB GB
Packers RB Eddie Lacy (concussion) is inactive for Week 3 against the Bengals. As is John Kuhn (hamstring), leaving James Starks and Johnathan Franklin as the Packers' lone backs against the Bengals' stout front seven. Starks will carry the load like he did in Week 3 against Washington, but unlike he did against the Redskins, he's not going to run wild. He's just a middling FLEX option for fantasy purposes. Also inactive for the Packers are CB Jarrett Bush, CB Casey Hayward, S Morgan Burnett, OG Lane Taylor and DE Josh Boyd.
Carl Nicks officially returning for Week 3 09-22-2013
Carl Nicks OG TB
Bucs LG Carl Nicks (toe) is active for Week 3 against the Patriots.
Rob Gronkowski officially inactive for Week 3 09-22-2013
Rob Gronkowski TE NE
Rob Gronkowski (back) is inactive for Week 3 against the Bucs.
Fred Davis (ankle) among Redskins' inactives 09-22-2013
Fred Davis TE WAS
Fred Davis (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Lions. Davis was added to the injury report Saturday after injuring his ankle on Friday. Jordan Reed will likely get the start at tight end, while Logan Paulsen will see plenty of work as an in-line blocker. Reed is a back-end TE2 with some upside. Also inactive for the Redskins are K Kai Forbath, QB Rex Grossman, S Jose Gumbs, RB Evan Royster, DL Chris Baker, and OG Josh LeRibeus.
Vernon Davis a true game-time call vs. Colts 09-22-2013
Vernon Davis TE SF
Vernon Davis (hamstring) remains a true game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Davis "wants to play" but it "will not be easy." Davis did not practice at all this week and it's hard to see him having full burst even if he does suit up. Owners wishing to wait this out better have a late-game option like Coby Fleener or Charles Clay available to them. We won't know Davis' official status until roughly 3pm ET Sunday.
Report: Patriots considering Lloyd, Branch 09-22-2013
Brandon Lloyd WR SF
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Tom Brady has been "calling and texting" free agents Brandon Lloyd and Deion Branch "gauging their availability." We're assuming Brady is doing so on behalf of Patriots management. Per Rapsheet, Branch has told Brady he's "ready whenever," but that Lloyd wants to finish shooting his zombie movie before a potential return. In case you hadn't heard, Lloyd is starring in a direct-to-DVD affair with Daniel Baldwin called "After Effect." Lloyd likely has more left in the tank than Branch, but was a fading player last season and a locker-room lawyer. The fact that he's back on the Patriots' radar speaks to their lack of faith in their rookie wideouts.
Hoyer can seize starting job w/ good showing 09-22-2013
Brian Hoyer QB CLE
A source tells NFL Network that Brian Hoyer can steal the starting job from Brandon Weeden (thumb) with a "stellar performance" in Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
NFL quarterbacks rarely lose their job due to injury, but the Browns are a unique case. The new regime did not select Weeden 22nd overall in 2012 and new GM Mike Lombardi has a thing for Hoyer. Now it's on Hoyer to prove Lombardi right by going into Minnesota and getting a win. It will be the former undrafted free agent's second career start.
Mike Wallace (groin) will play versus Falcons 09-22-2013
Mike Wallace WR MIA
NFL Network's Jeff Darlington reports Mike Wallace (groin) will play Sunday against the Falcons.

Jeff Darlington on Twitter
Andre Johnson ready to go for Texans 09-22-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson (concussion) is active and starting Sunday's game against the Ravens, as expected. Johnson's concussion was never anything serious as he was able to practice in full on both Thursday and Friday. The NFL's target leader through two weeks is an obvious must-start. He's our No. 8 fantasy wideout for Week 3.
Report: Browns plan to pursue Ben Tate in '14 09-22-2013
Ben Tate RB CLE
Appearing on Sunday NFL Countdown, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Browns plan to pursue Texans free-agent-to-be Ben Tate in the offseason. Tate is going to get paid by someone. After trading Trent Richardson away earlier this week, the Browns' running back of the future isn't on the roster. Willis McGahee is just a 2013 stop-gap, while Bobby Rainey and Chris Ogbonnaya are pure backups. Tate is averaging 8.2 YPC on 18 attempts this season. The Texans may not let him get away with Arian Foster showing signs of decline.
Ed Reed will make Texans debut vs. the Ravens 09-22-2013
Ed Reed S NYJ
Texans FS Ed Reed (hip) will play and start Sunday's Week 3 game against the Ravens.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
It's fitting that Reed's Texans debut comes in Baltimore against his former teammates. He practiced in full all week and is expected to play a majority of snaps, sending Shiloh Keo back to the bench. It's the first time we will have seen the 35-year-old Reed on the field since the Super Bowl.
Report: Browns willing to deal Gordon, Little 09-22-2013
Josh Gordon WR CLE
Appearing on Sunday NFL Countdown, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Browns are fielding trade offers for Josh Gordon and Greg Little. Totally not tanking. Right. It's unlikely the Browns could get much in return for either player. Gordon is one misstep away from getting a one-year suspension, while Little can't catch the football. However, both players have loads of talent. Gordon could be one of the best receivers in the league if he really wanted to. It wouldn't be a shock if a team took a gamble on him ahead of October's trade deadline. Gordon will make his season debut today against Minnesota.
49ers OLB Aldon Smith will play Sunday 09-22-2013
Aldon Smith DE SF
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports 49ers OLB Aldon Smith will play Sunday against the Colts.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Smith was popped for DUI on Friday morning, and there was some chatter he could be a game-day inactive. Rapoport adds that Smith may play sparingly. We wouldn't be surprised if he played his normal snap count. Winning trumps all, and Smith give the 49ers their best chance to win.
Ryan Broyles will be active for Lions 09-22-2013
Ryan Broyles WR DET
Ryan Broyles is expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Dave Birkett on Twitter
Patrick Edwards (ankle) is out, meaning Broyles is getting a chance for the first time this season. It's unclear exactly how healthy his knees are, but he'll be in a great spot as the No. 3 wideout playing against one of the league's worst secondaries. With a good performance, it's certainly possible Broyles leapfrogs Edwards on the depth chart.
Colts plan to give Richardson 10-15 touches 09-22-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Colts plan to give Trent Richardson 10-15 touches in his debut with the team on Sunday against San Francisco.

Ed Werder on Twitter
Patriots, Ninkovich agree to 3-year extension 09-22-2013
Rob Ninkovich LB NE
Patriots signed LE Rob Ninkovich to a three-year contract extension through 2016.

Mike Reiss on Twitter
Ninkovich is one of the more underrated players in the league. He was in the final year of his contract before agreeing to the extension through his age-32 season. Ninkovich has yet to register a sack this season, but he recorded 18.5 of them from 2010-12. He also forced five fumbles last season.
Von Miller tried to corrupt NFL drug program 09-22-2013
Von Miller LB DEN
ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen reported suspended Broncos OLB Von Miller unsuccessfully tried to corrupt the NFL drug testing program.
Mendenhall likely to play against Saints 09-22-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Rashard Mendenhall (toe) is expected to play Sunday versus New Orleans.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Mendenhall missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before returning to practice Friday. He's listed as questionable. This is one week where Mendenhall will be a solid flex play against an injury-riddled Saints defense.
Fitzgerald, Mendenhall both expected to play 09-22-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports both Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) and Rashard Mendenhall (toe) are expected to play Sunday against the Saints.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Not surprising. Both players are listed as questionable. Fitzgerald and Mendenhall missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices before returning to the field Friday. Start Firzgerald with confidence. Mendenhall is on the RB2/flex radar in a plus matchup against a banged-up New Orleans defense.
Schefter: Reggie Bush (knee) expected to sit 09-22-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Reggie Bush (knee) is not expected to play in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Redskins.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Bush wants to play, but the Lions are being smart and holding him out against the worst defense in the league. Detroit needs Bush for the long haul. Bush owners won't be happy that he's missing one of his juiciest matchups of the season, but those same owners should have handcuffed Bush with Joique Bell. Bell will carry the load. He has serious RB1 potential with similar traits as Bush.
Joique Bell to 'play plenty' against Redskins 09-22-2013
Joique Bell RB DET
The Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett expects Joique Bell to "play plenty" Sunday at Washington "regardless of (Reggie) Bush's status."

Dave Birkett on Twitter
Birkett expects rookie Theo Riddick -- not 2012 starter Mikel Leshoure -- to be the Lions' No. 2 back if Bush is inactive. Bush (knee) is listed as questionable, and Profootballtalk reported late Friday the Lions were considering giving him the week off even though he's healthy enough to play. The Lions' inactives will be posted on Rotoworld roughly two hours from now. Bell will be a solid flex play if Bush plays, and a locked-in RB2 if Bush doesn't.
Report: Lacy has 'glimmer of hope' to play 09-22-2013
Eddie Lacy RB GB
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Eddie Lacy (concussion) is unlikely to play Sunday, though he does have a "glimmer of hope."

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
We're not going to hold our breath. Lacy didn't practice at all this past week, and coach Mike McCarthy said the rookie would have had to practice Friday in order to play Sunday. James Starks will get the start against Cincinnati.
Mark Ingram (toe) not expected to play Sunday 09-22-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Mark Ingram (toe) is not expected to play in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Cardinals.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
Ingram is listed as questionable despite not getting in a single practice rep this week. It's not a huge loss for the Saints, and Ingram shouldn't be owned in many fantasy leagues. Pierre Thomas will handle all of the short-yardage and goal-line work. Both he and Darren Sproles could see a couple more carries. Sproles is a RB2, while Thomas is on the flex radar.
Wilcox to start at free safety for Cowboys 09-22-2013
J.J. Wilcox S DAL
Third-round rookie J.J. Wilcox will start at free safety for the Cowboys against the Rams on Sunday.

Bryan Broaddus on Twitter
Will Allen played all 132 snaps at free safety the first two weeks. According to Pro Football Focus, he's allowed seven catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns in his coverage. Wilcox is extremely raw and has played just six snaps this season. He can't be any worse than Allen. Jared Cook could be in for a monster day over the deep middle. Cook is our No. 6 tight end this week.
Report: Lions may hold Bush out as precaution 09-22-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Appearing on GameDay First, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Reggie Bush (knee) is "pushing to play" Sunday but the Lions may hold him out as a "precaution." This is similar to what PFT's Mike Florio reported Friday evening. The Lions likely won't make a decision until pre-game warm-ups are over. Bush is a true game-time decision. We tentatively expect Joique Bell to carry much of the load, even in the event Bush is active. The Lions and Redskins kick off at 1 PM ET, so we'll know Bush's official status sometime this morning.
Report: Gronkowski (back) closer to doubtful 09-22-2013
Rob Gronkowski TE NE
Profootballtalk.com reports Rob Gronkowski (back) is closer to doubtful than questionable for Sunday's Week 3 game against Tampa Bay.

Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
Gronkowski is listed as questionable on this week's injury report after being listed as doubtful the first two weeks. He's been practicing on a limited basis since Week 1. The expectation is that the Patriots will hold Gronkowski out for another week and bring him back for next week's game against Atlanta.
