Charles piles up 172 total yards vs. Eagles 09-19-2013
Jamaal Charles RB KC
Jamaal Charles rushed 20 times for 92 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City's Week 3 win over the Eagles, adding seven catches for an additional 80 yards.
Vick commits three turnovers, tweaks foot 09-19-2013
Michael Vick QB NYJ
Michael Vick completed just 13-of-30 passes for 201 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Philadelphia's Week 3 loss to the Chiefs, leaving late with an apparent foot injury. He added five rushes for 95 yards. Getting ripped down by beastly OLB Justin Houston for a sack on his final play from scrimmage, Vick not only lost a fumble but limped off the field with an apparent injury. It didn't have the looks of an overly serious ailment, but with Vick, nothing is ever for certain. The gaffe was a fitting capper to a long night, where Vick was plagued by poor accuracy, drops and a ferocious Kansas City pass rush. He stared down Eric Berry on his first pick, and as usual, often held onto the ball for too long. Vick has looked like a fairly natural fit for Chip Kelly's breakneck zone-read attack through three games, but has been taking a ton of hits and still making too many mistakes. He has 10 days to heal up for Philly's Week 4 trip to Denver.
Alex Smith waits out Eagles in 26-16 victory 09-19-2013
Alex Smith QB KC
Alex Smith completed 22-of-35 passes for 273 yards in Kansas City's 26-16 Week 3 win over the Eagles, adding nine rushes for 33 yards. Smith threw for no touchdowns or interceptions, in large part because he appeared leery of making any throw at all. Smith attempted only a handful of passes beyond the sticks, and counted on Donnie Avery and Jamaal Charles doing work after the catch to rack up "his" yardage. It was a comically conservative performance, but Smith achieved his desired goal: No turnovers in a game where the Eagles coughed the ball up five times. Smith's play hasn't been easy on the eyes this season, but he's helped guide the Chiefs to a 3-0 record in the safest possible fashion. As weak-armed as ever and allergic to risk, Smith is a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes.
Chiefs LG Allen departs with groin injury 09-19-2013
Jeff Allen G KC
Chiefs LG Jeff Allen was forced from Thursday's game against the Eagles with a right groin injury, and is doubtful to return. Allen departed in the fourth quarter, and is almost certainly done for the night. He's been replaced by Geoff Schwartz.
McCoy returns to Thursday Night Football 09-19-2013
LeSean McCoy RB PHI
LeSean McCoy (leg) returned to Thursday's game against the Chiefs in the third quarter. McCoy missed the first few plays of the second half, but re-entered the game before the end of Philadelphia's first third-quarter possession. It's a massive bullet dodged for the Eagles and fantasy owners alike, as McCoy's injury appeared quite serious at first. Take a deep breath and relax.
Shady McCoy leaves game with right leg injury 09-19-2013
LeSean McCoy RB PHI
LeSean McCoy was forced from Thursday's game against the Chiefs in the second quarter with a right leg injury.
Daryl Richardson resumes practicing Thursday 09-19-2013
Daryl Richardson RB NYJ
Daryl Richardson (foot) returned to Rams practice Thursday, getting in a full session.

Nick Wagoner on Twitter
Wednesday was just a day of rest for the Rams' shaky starting running back. His lack of production (98 yards on 30 carries) is a far bigger concern. Isaiah Pead could start getting some real run as D-Rich's backup this weekend.
Lions will decide Broyles' Week 3 status Sat. 09-19-2013
Ryan Broyles WR DET
OC Scott Linehan believes Ryan Broyles (knee) is "ready to go," but the Lions won't decide his Week 3 status until Saturday.

Detroit News
Flowers active for Thursday Night Football 09-19-2013
Brandon Flowers CB SD
Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers (knee) is active for Week 3 against the Eagles. As is LT Branden Albert (shoulder). Flowers is off to a rough start this season, and got torched by Dez Bryant in Week 2. He'll have his hands full with DeSean Jackson. Among the inactives for the Chiefs are TEs Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce, meaning practice-squad type Sean McGrath will get the start. Also inactive for the Chiefs are QB Tyler Bray, G/C Eric Kush, LB Josh Martin, LB Nico Johnson and DT Jaye Howard.
Vinny Curry making 2013 debut on Thursday 09-19-2013
Vinny Curry DE PHI
Eagles DE Vinny Curry is active for Week 3 against the Chiefs. The oft-discussed former second-round pick had been a healthy scratch for the Eagles' first two games. Inactive for the Eagles are QB Matt Barkley, TE Emil Igwenagu, OT Dennis Kelly, OG Matt Tobin, CB Roc Carmichael, CB Jordan Poyer and DL Damion Square.
Joel Dreessen returns to Broncos practice 09-19-2013
Joel Dreessen TE DEN
Broncos TE Joel Dreessen (knee) returned to Broncos practice Thursday, getting in a limited session. Dreessen could make his season debut in Monday night's game against the Raiders, but has been buried on the depth chart by Julius Thomas. His fantasy relevance is long gone.
Giovani Bernard 'limited' on Thursday 09-19-2013
Giovani Bernard RB CIN
Giovani Bernard was added to the Bengals' injury report Thursday with a hamstring issue, getting in a limited session. The injury received very little attention amongst the local media, while OC Jay Gruden said Thursday he envisioned a 50-50 timeshare in his backfield "sooner than later." In other words, the "injury" is likely the most minor of tweaks. Double-check Bernard's status on Friday, but for now there's no reason to worry about his Sunday status.
Rob Housler (ankle) limited on Thursday 09-19-2013
Rob Housler TE ARZ
Cardinals TE Rob Housler (ankle) got in his second straight limited practice Thursday. The Cardinals' website initially called Housler "full" on Wednesday, but he's yet to take that step. He's 50-50 for Week 3, and can't yet be trusted as a TE2.
Ryan Tannehill still 'limited' on Thursday 09-19-2013
Ryan Tannehill QB MIA
Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) remained limited Thursday.

Miami Herald
The Dolphins didn't actually practice, so it's just an approximation. Tannenhill is in no danger of missing Week 3, and is a high-upside QB2 against the Falcons' banged up defense.
Mike Wallace pops up on report w/ groin issue 09-19-2013
Mike Wallace WR MIA
Mike Wallace was added to the Dolphins' Thursday injury report with a groin issue, but practiced in full.

Miami Herald
The Dolphins didn't actually practice Thursday, so it's just an approximation. Wallace battled a groin issue in the preseason, but had yet to appear on the injury report this season. He likely just tweaked the injury in Wednesday's session. There's no reason to worry about his Week 3 status.
Heath Miller (knee) 'full' again on Thursday 09-19-2013
Heath Miller TE PIT
Heath Miller (knee) got in his second straight "full" practice Thursday. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review believes it "looks good" for Miller to make his 2013 debut on Sunday evening against the Bears. Miller will likely be on a snap count, but would provide a huge boost for the Steelers' sputtering offense. Miller is coming off a career year, but can't yet be trusted as a low-end TE1.
Fitzgerald hints he has no plans to sit out 09-19-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) hinted Thursday he has no plans to sit out Sunday.

Darren Urban on Twitter
Told there was a "school of thought" he should sit out in an effort to get closer to 100 percent, Fitzgerald replied he's "never been to that school before." Fitzgerald didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but will likely get in a token "limited" session on Friday. He's going to play against the Saints, but it remains unclear how hampered he'll be.
Grudes: Timeshare likely coming in backfield 09-19-2013
Giovani Bernard RB CIN
Bengals OC Jay Gruden expects a 50-50 timeshare between Giovani Bernard and BenJarvus Green-Ellis "sooner than later."

Geoff Hobson on Twitter
BJGE has out-touched Bernard 38-14 over the first two games, but the Bengals know they can't keep feeding the rock ad nauseam to a player who's averaging 2.8 yards per carry. Bernard remains the higher-upside start in fantasy leagues, and should soon be the safer one, as well.
LaMichael James (knee) resumes practicing 09-19-2013
LaMichael James RB SF
LaMichael James (knee) returned to 49ers practice Thursday.

Matt Maiocco on Twitter
It puts James on track for Sunday, but it's not outside the realm of possibility he ends up a healthy scratch. James is currently without a role in San Francisco.
Vernon Davis still not practicing Thursday 09-19-2013
Vernon Davis TE SF
Vernon Davis (hamstring) remained out of 49ers practice for the second consecutive day Thursday.

Matt Maiocco on Twitter
Mendenhall could play without practicing? 09-19-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Both the Arizona Republic and AzCardinals.com believe Rashard Mendenhall (toe) could play on Sunday without practicing this week.

Kent Somers on Twitter
The Cards have maintained radio silence on Mendenhall's status, which usually isn't a good thing. Arizona would go with a committee against the Saints were Mendenhall to sit, with Andre Ellington likely to be the chairman. He'd be little more than a desperation FLEX play for fantasy purposes.
Report: Browns initiated Richardson trade 09-19-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
"Several league sources" tell the Cleveland Plain Dealer the Browns initiated the trade that sent Trent Richardson to Indianapolis.

Cleveland Plain Dealer
As if it wasn't already clear, the Browns' new braintrust wants little to do with what deposed football "czar" Mike Holmgren left behind. Facing an uncertain workload in a tough matchup, Richardson is Rotoworld's No. 15 running back for Week 3.
Rams waive S Quinton Pointer 09-19-2013
Quinton Pointer S TB
Rams waived S Quinton Pointer. The move clears a roster spot for OT Max Starks. A second-year undrafted free agent, Pointer had yet to appear in a game this season.
Danny Amendola still 'limited' on Thursday 09-19-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
Danny Amendola (groin) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice. It's typical Patriots injury report farce. Amendola will be out for Week 3.
Rob Gronkowski still limited on Thursday 09-19-2013
Rob Gronkowski TE NE
Rob Gronkowski (back) remained limited on Thursday. Gronk has perhaps a 25 percent chance of suiting up this weekend, but we still don't expect to see him before Week 4. We're unlikely to know his official Week 3 status before Sunday morning.
Munchak expects Wright (concussion) to play 09-19-2013
Kendall Wright WR TEN
Titans coach Mike Munchak expects Kendall Wright (concussion) to be active for Week 3.

Jim Wyatt on Twitter
Wright has yet to practice this week, but will evidently be cleared on Friday. He's still nothing more than a desperation WR4 for fantasy purposes.
Chargers RT Fluker sidelined with concussion 09-19-2013
D.J. Fluker T SD
Chargers RT D.J. Fluker was held out of Thursday's practice after suffering a concussion in Wednesday's session.

Michael Gehlken on Twitter
He's out for Week 3, severely weakening an offensive line that had been a pleasant surprise for the Chargers through two games. They'll now be forced to go with Mike Harris opposite LT King Dunlap against a Titans defense that's notched five sacks through two games. Philip Rivers' hot start will be put to the test.
Hilton (groin) still limited Thursday 09-19-2013
T.Y. Hilton WR IND
T.Y. Hilton (groin) remained limited in Colts practice Thursday.

colts.com
Mark Ingram (toe) still not practicing 09-19-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
Mark Ingram (toe) remained out of Saints practice Thursday.

neworleanssaints.com
The Saints' disappointing would-be lead back is now highly questionable for Week 3. Even if he suits up against the Cardinals, Ingram has made it clear through two games that he's not a viable FLEX option.
Dwayne Allen (hip) officially stashed on IR 09-19-2013
Dwayne Allen TE IND
Colts placed TE Dwayne Allen on injured reserve with a hip injury, ending his season. Allen will soon undergo surgery. Hip injuries can be tricky, but there's been no indication Allen won't be 100 percent for next summer's camp. One of the league's best young tight ends, Allen should be returning to a big role in 2014, and remains a "hold" in Dynasty leagues.
Julio Jones still limited in Thursday's prac. 09-19-2013
Julio Jones WR ATL
Julio Jones (knee) remained limited on Thursday.

Jay Adams on Twitter
Jones was limited last week before torching the Rams for 11/182/1. He's a top-five receiver for Week 3.
Jones-Drew (foot) 'up in the air' for Week 3 09-19-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) remained out of practice Thursday, and is "up in the air" for Week 3.

John Oehser on Twitter
Predictably, MJD is trending downward for Sunday after the Jags started off the week with a bullish estimate for his odds of suiting up. Per coach Gus Bradley, Jones-Drew's "swelling is still bothering him." The Jaguars might drag the situation out until Sunday morning, but most signs suggest Jordan Todman will start against the Seahawks. He won't be a fantasy option against Seattle's ferocious defense.
Roddy White (ankle) back at practice Thurs. 09-19-2013
Roddy White WR ATL
Roddy White (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session. It's White's routine as he plays through a high-ankle sprain. He's going to suit up against the Dolphins, but remains little more than a boom-or-bust WR3 until he proves he's back to full health. In hindsight, White might have been best off abandoning his consecutive games played streak and getting healthy.
Le'Veon Bell upgraded to 'full' on Thursday 09-19-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
Le'Veon Bell (foot) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice after getting in a limited session on Wednesday.

Mark Kaboly on Twitter
It's eye-brow raising, but Bell himself admitted on Wednesday that he's extremely unlikely to suit up for Sunday night's game against the Bears. The Steelers are also no strangers to playing injury report games with their running backs. Perhaps Bell will return in Week 4, but he remains off the Week 3 radar.
Quintin Mikell (ankle) ruled out for Week 3 09-19-2013
Quintin Mikell S CAR
Panthers SS Quintin Mikell (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3.

Jonathan Jones on Twitter
Promoted off the practice squad just two days ago, Robert Lester will start in Mikell's absence. It's excellent news for the Giants. Being ruled out at this stage of the week suggests Mikell has a high-ankle sprain. He's week to week.
Garrett Graham doesn't practice Thursday 09-19-2013
Garrett Graham TE HOU
Texans TE Garrett Graham (hip, groin) was held out of Thursday's practice.

Drew Dougherty on Twitter
Graham was "full" on Wednesday, so it's possible Thursday was just a planned day off. His status will be updated Friday. Graham isn't on the re-draft radar.
Martellus Bennett upgraded to 'full' Thursday 09-19-2013
Martellus Bennett TE CHI
Martellus Bennett (shoulder) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Jeff Dickerson on Twitter
Bennett is fine for Week 3. He's a TE1.
Vikings extent Andrew Sendejo 09-19-2013
Andrew Sendejo S MIN
Vikings signed S Andrew Sendejo to a two-year, $2 million extension through 2015.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
He gets $400,000 guaranteed, with another $600,000 available through incentives. Sendejo, 26, is not a defensive contributor, but had ten special teams tackles in 2012 and is considered a core member of kick and punt cover units.
Brandon Marshall leaves practice w/ back inj. 09-19-2013
Brandon Marshall WR CHI
Brandon Marshall departed Thursday's practice with a "tight back," but the "hope" is that he'll be fine.

Brad Biggs on Twitter
ESPN Chicago reports Marshall is expected to be limited on Friday, but the consensus among the local media is that the injury isn't a real threat to Marshall's Week 3 status. We're not worrying for now, but that could obviously change. Marshall's status will be updated no later than Friday afternoon.
Trent Richardson expects 'a lot' of Wk3 snaps 09-19-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported on NFL Insiders Trent Richardson "expects to play and play a lot" in Week 3 at San Francisco. Richardson told Holtzman the Colts' offense is not entirely dissimilar from Browns coach Rob Chudzinski's, which he's been learning the past seven months. We're still skeptical Richardson will play even close to a full complement of snaps in a new system behind new blockers after two practices as a Colt. His ceiling is probably around 16 carries in a tough matchup at Candlestick.
Willis McGahee officially signs with Browns 09-19-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Browns agreed to terms with RB Willis McGahee.

Jeff Darlington on Twitter
McGahee is the immediate favorite for carries in Cleveland's repurposed backfield, though his Week 3 workload will likely be limited as he learns the playbook and gets back into football shape. It's not even a guarantee he'll be active against the Vikings. Per NFL.com, McGahee "hopes" to play. Nevertheless, it shouldn't take McGahee long to separate from Chris Ogbonnaya and Bobby Rainey, leaving him as the "back to own" in Cleveland. Quotation marks because McGahee is still just a desperation add. He won't be more than a low-end FLEX option once he gets going.
Rashard Mendenhall misses another practice 09-19-2013
Rashard Mendenhall RB ARZ
Rashard Mendenhall (toe) missed his second straight practice Thursday.

Darren Urban on Twitter
Larry Fitzgerald misses another practice Thu. 09-19-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) remained out of Cardinals practice Thursday.

Darren Urban on Twitter
WR Wright (concussion) not practicing Thu. 09-19-2013
Kendall Wright WR TEN
Kendall Wright (concussion) remained out of Titans practice Thursday.

Terry McCormick on Twitter
It's looking like Wright will be sidelined for Sunday's game after leading the Titans in receiving in Week 2. In theory, it's a boost for Kenny Britt's fantasy prospects, but he's still nothing more than a WR4.
Russell Okung visiting Dr. James Andrew 09-19-2013
Russell Okung T SEA
Seahawks LT Russell Okung (toe) is visiting Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion.

Jason La Canfora on Twitter
Okung has already been ruled out for Week 3. Visits to Dr. Andrews often end with a "done for the season" declaration, but things aren't as cut and dry with toe issues. For now, the Seahawks are going with Paul McQuistan on the blindside. He's a massive downgrade.
Texans: 'All indications' Johnson is ready 09-19-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson (concussion) was a "full go" in Thursday's practice, and "all indications" are that he'll be ready for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Drew Dougherty on Twitter
Barring something unforeseen happening, Johnson is locked and loaded for Week 3. The WR1 is the most targeted player in the league through two weeks.
Brandon Weeden (thumb) could be back by Wk 4 09-19-2013
Brandon Weeden QB DAL
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Brandon Weeden's sprained throwing thumb does not require surgery, and he could return as early as Week 4.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
The question is if he'll be returning as the starter. The Browns are tanking the season, and GM Mike Lombardi is a long-time admirer of Sunday's fill-in starter Brian Hoyer. Weeden clearly isn't a part of Lombardi's long-term plans, and could find himself on the bench if Hoyer is something close to competent against the Vikings. There's no guarantee he will be.
Ravens' Rice (hip) not practicing on Thursday 09-19-2013
Ray Rice RB BAL
Ray Rice (hip) remained out of Ravens practice Thursday.

Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter
Rice isn't practicing this week, but the Ravens insist he remains a possibility for Sunday's game against the Texans. At best, he's a game-time decision. More than likely, Rice isn't going to play, leaving backup Bernard Pierce as a legitimate RB2.
Warrant issued for Joe McKnight's arrest 09-19-2013
Joe McKnight RB KC
A warrant has been issued for free agent Joe McKnight's arrest after he failed to appear in court on Monday.

New York Daily News
The court date was related to outstanding traffic charges. The whole situation could have been avoided with just a little common sense. McKnight worked out for the Giants last week, but has otherwise received no interest since being cut loose by the Jets.
Santonio Holmes gets day of rest Thursday 09-19-2013
Santonio Holmes WR CHI
Santonio Holmes (foot) was held out of Thursday's practice in a planned day off.

Rich Cimini on Twitter
The Jets are going to manage Holmes' practice reps all season. He's a WR5 for this weekend's showdown with the Bills. Holmes has appeared healthy this season, but has yet to display his vintage form. He looks a step or two slow.
Reggie Bush 'farther along' than anticipated 09-19-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Speaking Thursday, Reggie Bush (knee) said he's "farther along than he thought he'd be," and is "optimistic" for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
However, Bush did caution it's "still a long way until Sunday." Bush did not practice Thursday. It's beginning to sound like Bush is better than 50-50 to suit up against the league's worst defense, though how large his role will be remains up in the air. If it becomes clear Bush is only going to be a token "active," he'll drop down this week's ranks.
Dez stretching instead of practicing Thursday 09-19-2013
Dez Bryant WR DAL
Updating an earlier item, Dez Bryant (back) did not take part in the portion of Cowboys practice open to the media on Thursday.

ESPN Dallas
Per beat writer Todd Archer, Bryant "spent extra time stretching his back and working through some light jogging as the offense did on-air and one-on-one drills." Bryant will likely still earn a "limited" tag, but it's clear he's not going to do much work in these week's sessions. Either way, he's going to play a full complement of snaps against the Rams, and is locked-and-loaded as a top-five receiver play for Week 3.
Broncos LCB Bailey resumes practicing 09-19-2013
Champ Bailey CB NO
Broncos LCB Champ Bailey (foot) resumed practicing Thursday.

Lindsay Jones on Twitter
He was participating in full pads, though he'll probably be listed as "limited." Either way, it puts Bailey on track to make his season debut on Monday Night Football against the Raiders. He'll likely be on a snap count.
John Kuhn not practicing for Packers 09-19-2013
John Kuhn RB GB
John Kuhn (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

Rob Demovsky on Twitter
Kuhn went down after playing just five snaps in the Week 2 slaughter of the Redskins. With Eddie Lacy (concussion) also out, James Starks was left to play on third downs. Starks could fill an every-down role once again in Week 3, but will be facing a far stiffer matchup against the Bengals.
Jermichael Finley back at practice Thursday 09-19-2013
Jermichael Finley TE GB
Jermichael Finley (toe) returned to practice Thursday.

Jason Wilde on Twitter
Eddie Lacy making progress but not practicing 09-19-2013
Eddie Lacy RB GB
Coach Mike McCarthy said Eddie Lacy (concussion) is "making progress" and "seems to be doing fine."

ESPN Milwaukee
Lacy did not practice Thursday. McCarthy was asked Wednesday about the severity of Lacy's concussion. "He looks good. He's in the meetings and that's always a positive sign, but he's got a couple more tests in front of him that he has to pass before he'll be able to practice." It sounds like a long-term, severe concussion can be ruled out. Lacy should be back following the Packers Week 4 bye.
Colts promote Da'Rick Rogers to active roster 09-19-2013
Da'Rick Rogers WR IND
Colts signed WR Da'Rick Rogers off their practice squad.

George Bremer on Twitter
It's more fallout from the Dwayne Allen season-ending hip injury. The Colts are going to use more three-wide formations now, so they need talented bodies behind Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and Darrius Heyward-Bey (shoulder). Rogers is certainly that. Despite getting cut by the Bills and going unclaimed on waivers in August, his game-tape from college and measureables are impressive. Rogers is a Dynasty hold and needs to be on re-draft watch lists as well.
Trent Richardson will make Colts debut Sunday 09-19-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
Coach Chuck Pagano said that newly acquired Trent Richardson will play in Sunday's game at San Francisco.

Kevin Bowen on Twitter
When asked how much Richardson will play in Week 3, Pagano said, "As much as he can handle." The Colts didn't give up a first-round pick to let Richardson idle behind Ahmad Bradshaw. The playbook at the running back position is among the easiest to pick up, meaning T-Rich could see the majority of early-down work right away. He does have a brutal matchup, but he's still on the flex radar. "This guy is a rolling ball of butcher knives," Pagano said of Richardson. "He fits our scheme to a T."
Michael Floyd getting close to TDs 09-19-2013
Michael Floyd WR ARZ
Michael Floyd had two end-zone targets and two additional targets inside the Lions 8-yard line in Week 2.

ESPN.com
Floyd also had targets at the 2- and 8-yard line in Week 1. He's tied for seventh in the league in oTD, a stat created by our Mike Clay that reflects scoring opportunities. Still, Floyd has no touchdowns on the season despite all the chances. He's due for a breakout very soon, especially with Larry Fitzgerald nursing a sore hammy.
Bilal Powell back at practice 09-19-2013
Bilal Powell RB NYJ
Bilal Powell (illness) returned to practice Thursday.

Brian Costello on Twitter
Patrick Edwards out of practice again 09-19-2013
Patrick Edwards WR DET
Patrick Edwards (ankle) is not practicing Thursday.

Tim Twentyman on Twitter
It looks like Edwards sustained a pretty good sprain during Week 2. Expect Ryan Broyles to be active Sunday.
Frazier reiterates that Patterson will play 09-19-2013
Cordarrelle Patterson WR MIN
Coach Leslie Frazier reiterated that first-round WR Cordarrelle Patterson will see more playing time going forward.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune
Through two weeks, Patterson has played 11 offensive snaps. "It's just an oversight on our part; a major oversight because Cordarrelle is a playmaker," Frazier said. "He should be out there. We've just got to get him on the field." Patterson can only play the X spot, which is where Jerome Simpson plays. Frazier said they'll look at moving Simpson around some, thus creating opportunity for their prized rookie. Look for some manufactured touches for Patterson this week and a growing role going forward.
Dez will practice Thursday, as expected 09-19-2013
Dez Bryant WR DAL
Dez Bryant (back) will practice Thursday, as expected.

Matt Mosley on Twitter
Coming off a 9/141/1 demolition of Brandon Flowers in Week 2, Bryant got a rest day on Wednesday. He'll be ready to play every snaps against the Rams on Sunday.
Norv has praise for FA Willis McGahee 09-19-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Browns OC Norv Turner praised free agent RB Willis McGahee Thursday.

Nate Ulrich on Twitter
McGahee hasn't signed with Cleveland yet, but is expected to once he passes his physical. Turner called McGahee a very good inside runner who will understand the system because of his experience. McGahee also played for Browns coach Rob Chudzinski will both were at the University of Miami. The 32-year-old (in October) coming off a broken leg is just a desperation flex add.
Reggie Bush hasn't been cleared by team docs 09-19-2013
Reggie Bush RB DET
Reggie Bush (knee) admitted he hasn't been cleared by team doctors to play yet.

Detroit Free Press
Speaking on the radio Thursday morning, Bush said did say he's "optimistic" he'll get clearance in time to play Sunday. "I feel a lot better than I thought I was going to be feeling at this point in time," Bush said. "My knee feels pretty good. It's a day-to-day thing right now. Thankfully, I avoided anything serious that might have required surgery or being out for a long period of time." We'll know more after Thursday's practice. Wednesday reports gave Bush a 50-50 shot at suiting up against the Redskins.
Edelman doesn't know if he'll see Revis 09-19-2013
Julian Edelman WR NE
The Boston Herald suggests Julian Edelman could see plenty of Darrelle Revis Sunday.

Boston Herald
We're not so sure. The Bucs haven't used Revis as a strict man corner so far this season, and he rarely plays inside against slot receivers. We're not overly concerned with Edelman getting stuck on Revis Island, placing him 20th in the Season Pass preliminary ranks. Evan Silva will have a full breakdown of this topic in his Matchup Column Friday. Edelman is coming off a 13-catch, 18-target outing in Week 2.
Ryan Williams a healthy scratch twice 09-19-2013
Ryan Williams RB DAL
Ryan Williams has been a healthy scratch in each of the first two games.

Arizona Republic
Larry Fitzgerald wanted to practice 09-19-2013
Larry Fitzgerald WR ARZ
Coach Bruce Arians said Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) wanted to practice Wednesday.

Arizona Republic
"He wants to practice; Iƒ?Tm not letting him," Arians said. "I do not want him aggravating that again. We'll take that day to day." Fitz's desire to practice suggests his hammy is feeling reasonably good. Arians confirmed the All-Pro wideout can suit up Sunday even if he doesn't practice all week.
Ben on Markus Wheaton: 'He's more than ready' 09-19-2013
Markus Wheaton WR PIT
Ben Roethlisberger said third-round WR Markus Wheaton is "more than ready to get in and start doing some stuff for us."

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Through two games, Wheaton has played 12 snaps and the Steelers are ranked 31st in total offense. They know it's time to get the intriguing playmaker on the field. "I think you'll start to see him getting in more this week," Roethlisberger said. A three-wide set of Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders and Wheaton with Heath Miller (knee) returning would do wonders for the passing game. Jerricho Cotchery is a liability. Wheaton is a Dynasty hold in all formats and a deep-league stash in re-draft.
Le'Veon Bell is still in 'healing process' 09-19-2013
Le'Veon Bell RB PIT
Although Le'Veon Bell (foot) returned to a limited practice Wednesday, he said he's still in the "healing process."

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
It was Bell's first practice since spraining his foot on Aug. 19. "I don't want to rush it," he said. "I'm still in the healing process. I've got to make sure I don't reinjure it. ... I'm making sure I'm confident enough to go out there and make all the proper cuts, that I can completely stop when I need to with a burst and jump." Bell doesn't sound too close to a return to game action. We still suspect he'll sit through the Steelers' Week 5 bye and then return for a road game at the Jets in Week 6. Felix Jones, Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer will form an ugly three-headed committee in the meantime.
Andre Johnson is in final stage of protocol 09-19-2013
Andre Johnson WR HOU
Andre Johnson is in the final stage of the league's concussion protocol.

houstontexans.com
The final step in the process is practicing with pads, something Johnson is expected to do Thursday. "Andre's fine," coach Gary Kubiak confirmed. As long as Johnson gets through Thursday's practice without issue, he'll receive clearance to play against the Ravens Sunday. Owners can pencil him into lineups as a WR1.
Raiders want more touches for Marcel Reece 09-19-2013
Marcel Reece RB OAK
GM Reggie McKenzie acknowledged the need to get Marcel Reece more touches.

ESPN.com
Reece is a matchup nightmare for defenses thanks to his size/speed combo and route-running ability from the H-back spot. That's why McKenzie gave him a four-year, $14.4M contract last week. But through two games, Reece has just two carries and one catch (on three targets). It's simply not enough. Reece is a name to put on deeper watch lists, especially in PPR formats.
Tony Romo to get another rib injection 09-19-2013
Tony Romo QB DAL
Tony Romo (ribs) will likely get another pain-killing injection prior to Sunday's game against the Rams.

Dallas Morning News
Romo bruised his ribs in Week 1 and took an injection in Week 2. The Dallas Morning News notes that his accuracy declined "noticeably" in the fourth quarter against Kansas City, suggesting the shot wore off. We wouldn't be too worried about it. Now three weeks removed from the injury, Romo should be much closer to 100 percent. He's a back-end QB1 for Week 3.
Munchak has no problem with Kenny Britt 09-19-2013
Kenny Britt WR STL
Coach Mike Munchak said Wednesday he has "no problem" with Kenny Britt.

Nashville Tennessean
Britt stood by his Tuesday tweet that said the Titans are "pullin that Jared Cook card." The Titans still aren't going to take any disciplinary action. Although Britt was briefly benched for lazy blocking, holding penalties and mistakes in Week 2, he projects as a starter again in Week 3. He's a fantasy bench stash to see if he can get his head on straight.
Ingram to take a backseat to Pierre Thomas? 09-19-2013
Mark Ingram RB NO
Beat writer Mike Triplett believes Mark Ingram has "missed his chance" to establish himself as the Saints primary runner.

ESPN.com
Through two games, Ingram has rushed for 31 yards on 17 carries (1.82 YPC) while displaying zero burst or power. He failed to convert a huge goal-line chance in the narrow Week 2 win at Tampa. Triplett expects there to a be a "subtle flip-flop in the coming weeks, where [Pierre] Thomas becomes more of a 1A and Ingram a 1B, instead of vice versa." We've been suggesting the same thing. Ingram is an inferior back.
Former scout: DeMarco is missing holes 09-19-2013
DeMarco Murray RB DAL
Former NFL pro personnel director Louis Riddick says DeMarco Murray is leaving yardage on the field.

ESPN Dallas
Murray is averaging just 3.46 YPC on the season. "DeMarco is a hard runner, but I have always had some issues with DeMarco because he is very, very, very straight line," Riddick said. "He has no ability to make people miss. As a matter of fact, you saw numerous times that there were some holes that DeMarco could have got through, but he is a guy who has to gather himself to really make hard, sharp cuts to exploit those running lanes." Murray's inability to avoid tackles also leads to injuries. He's not a great Dynasty prospect.
DeSean Jackson catching passes over middle 09-19-2013
DeSean Jackson WR WAS
DeSean Jackson already has nine catches over the middle this season.

Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News
Jackson had 15 catches over the middle during the entire 2012 season. D-Jax has completely bought in to new coach Chip Kelly's offense and is finally willing to put his body on the line. He alligator-armed passes between the hash-marks far too often over the last few seasons, turning him into a mere straight-line speedster. Jackson is fantasy's No. 1 WR through two weeks and barely missed three more big plays in Week 2. He's on his way to a monster season.
Colts GM on T-Rich: He's special 09-19-2013
Trent Richardson RB IND
Colts GM Ryan Grigson referred to newly acquired RB Trent Richardson as "special."

SI.com
"I watched every game [Richardson] played for Cleveland," Grigson said. "Believe me, I know the numbers -- 3.5 yards a carry, long [run] of 32 -- but I also know in this business you can go by the norm, and you can go by the eye test. What do your eyes tell you? They tell me he's special. He's a 4.48-second 40 guy who defenders don't want to tackle. I loved this kid coming out. He's only 23 years old, and I still think he's a great back." The Colts didn't give up a first-round pick to use Richardson as a complementary piece in their offense. He's going to get a ton of work even if Ahmad Bradshaw plays on most third downs.
RG3: I need to run more 09-19-2013
Robert Griffin III QB WAS
Robert Griffin III suggested that he needs to use his legs more to give the Redskins offense a spark.

ESPN.com
Griffin has rushed just nine times through two games -- none on designed runs or zone reads. "It's not that I want to run more, I just feel like that's what we need and if that's what it takes for us to win games, I'm willing to do that. It's not anything I'm going to shy away from," he said. The Redskins have been trailing for virtually the entire season, leaving them in their two-minute offense instead of base sets. They should be able to hang with the Lions at home on Sunday, so we'll get a look at what kind of running plays Griffin has in store.
Blaine Gabbert not expected to play Week 3 09-19-2013
Blaine Gabbert QB SF
The Florida Times Union says it would be "shocking" if Blaine Gabbert (hand) is able to play Week 3.

Florida Times Union
Gabbert did some light throwing on Wednesday but did not participate in team work. He'd be better off sitting out this week anyway. The Jaguars are going to get throttled in Seattle no matter who is under center.
Marcedes Lewis doesn't get back in practice 09-19-2013
Marcedes Lewis TE JAX
Marcedes Lewis (calf) did not practice Wednesday.

Florida Times Union
Lewis is still just doing straight-line running and some blocking sled work. He said if he doesn't get back in team drills by Friday, he likely won't play against the Seahawks.
Brandon Weeden not a lock to get job back? 09-19-2013
Brandon Weeden QB DAL
Coach Rob Chudzinski suggested that Brandon Weeden (thumb) isn't a lock to eventually get his starting job back.

clevelandbrowns.com
Brian Hoyer, a favorite of GM Mike Lombardi, will start Sunday's game in Minnesota. "I'm going to leave all of the options open," said Chud. "It's a matter of where he's at from a health standpoint -- all of that plays into it -- where we're at and how guys are playing, as well." With Trent Richardson gone, we can't imagine the Browns offense doing much under Hoyer. Weeden is a good bet to get the gig back once cleared.
