Report: Packers done with LB Desmond Bishop 06-11-2013
Desmond Bishop LB WAS
ESPN Milwaukee reports the Packers will either cut or trade Desmond Bishop if he doesn't agree to a contract restructure.

ESPN Milwaukee
Bishop is owed a relatively affordable $3.464 million, so the Packers are likely asking for a slash close to the NFL minimum. A release is the most likely outcome. Coming off a ruptured hamstring, Bishop hasn't participated in any Packers offseason activities and was on the trade block during the draft. They found no takers. Bishop insists the hamstring is healed. The Packers are prepared to move forward with Brad Jones and A.J. Hawk at inside linebacker.
LB McClain re-enrolled at Alabama 06-11-2013
Rolando McClain MLB DAL
Recently retired linebacker Rolando McClain has re-enrolled at the University of Alabama.

Andrew Gribble on Twitter
While answering questions during a press conference, former coach Nick Saban informed the media that Rolando McClain was back in school. When he retired last month, McClain said he was focused on getting his "personal life together." It appears McClain is doing just that by attempting to earn his degree before potentially returning to the NFL.
Report: Tarvaris Jackson to visit Seahawks 06-11-2013
Tarvaris Jackson QB SEA
Citing two sources, ESPN's John Clayton reports free agent Tarvaris Jackson will head to Seattle "in the next day or two" to "possibly" sign a contract with the Seahawks.
Clayton writes that "it's not known" how a Jackson signing would affect current Russell Wilson backup Brady Quinn, but we have a pretty good feeling T-Jack would beat out Quinn for the No. 2 job. Jackson was the Seahawks' starter in 2011 and earned the respect of teammates for playing hurt. He'd be an excellent addition as a backup and is very familiar with OC Darrell Bevell.
Powell pushing Goodson for 3rd-down role 06-11-2013
Bilal Powell RB NYJ
The Jets are giving Bilal Powell an opportunity to push Mike Goodson for the third-down back job.

ESPN New York
Goodson is the heavy favorite, with beat writer Rich Cimini noting he shows "a burst whenever he gets the ball in his hands." Powell, on the other hand, is painfully sluggish as a runner. He's merely competing for a roster spot.
Saints ink CB Carr 06-11-2013
Chris Carr CB NO
Saints signed CB Chris Carr, formerly of the Chargers. Carr, 30, spent most of last season as a reserve slot corner and special teams player in San Diego. He'll compete for a similar role in New Orleans.
Giants reach out to Vonta Leach 06-11-2013
Vonta Leach RB BAL
In addition to the Dolphins, the Giants have reached out to free agent FB Vonta Leach.

Newark Star-Ledger
Leach is further along in Dolphins discussions, as he's lined up a visit for Wednesday. The Giants have interest because starting lead blocker Henry Hynoski is recovering from knee surgery. Hynoski is expected back early in the season, if not by Week 1. Miami has a greater need and more cap space.
Rams meeting with LB Spikes 06-11-2013
Takeo Spikes LB SD
The Rams are spending today and Wednesday meeting with free agent linebacker Takeo Spikes.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Spikes, 36, hasn't received any interest since being released from the Chargers in March. If signed, he'll likely compete with Jo-Lonn Dunbar for time at "right linebacker" in the Rams defense. Pro Football Focus graded Spikes poorly in coverage and mediocre as a run-defender last year.
Seahawks TE Miller in walking boot 06-11-2013
Zach Miller TE SEA
Seahawks tight end Zach Miller missed practice today, and was wearing a walking boot on his left foot.

Curtis Crabtree on Twitter
Miller had previously injured the foot against the Falcons last season, but Coach Pete Carroll said the injuries are unrelated. According to Carroll, Miller's foot is "just sore," and the team is "taking it easy with him." Generally speaking, a walking boot is an indication of something more severe than soreness. This is a situation to monitor going forward.
Dolphins to host free agent FB Vonta Leach 06-11-2013
Vonta Leach RB BAL
The Dolphins will host free agent FB Vonta Leach on Wednesday.

Baltimore Sun
Leach has a coaching staff connection in Miami; offensive coordinator Mike Sherman was on the Packers and Texans' staffs when Leach played there. The Fins' current fullback is Jorvorskie Lane, but Leach would be an enormous upgrade as a lead blocker. His addition would be good news for Lamar Miller.
Giants' RG Snee expected back for camp 06-11-2013
Chris Snee OG NYG
Giants' RG Chris Snee (hip surgery) is expected to resume practicing with the team at the start of training camp.

Newark Star-Ledger
Snee has been working out individually for nearly two months, but is still wearing a heavy wrap around his hip. Coach Tom Coughlin said he anticipates Snee will be able to practice by the start of training camp.
Robert Griffin III to meet with Dr. Andrews 06-11-2013
Robert Griffin QB CLE
Robert Griffin III (ACL, LCL surgery) will visit surgeon Dr. James Andrews for a checkup on his knee next week.

Washington Examiner
Griffin hopes to receive clearance to resume cutting, clearing yet another hurdle in his ahead-of-schedule recovery. "It's a month of cutting drills, changing direction," RG3 said. "That way I can train my body to get back for that. I'll start cutting and after that it's just everything over and over." Griffin has progressed to performing bootlegs on the side of OTA practice.
Coty Sensabaugh working as 1st-team nickel CB 06-11-2013
Coty Sensabaugh CB NYG
Second-year CB Coty Sensabaugh is practicing as the Titans' first-team nickel corner at OTAs.

Nashville Tennessean
With Alterraun Verner falling out of favor -- he's now being tried at safety -- Sensabaugh is the nickel between Tommie Campbell and Jason McCourty. Perhaps the Titans are just experimenting, but Verner's fall is surprising after arguably being Tennessee's top cover cornerback the past two seasons.
Darius Slay resumes practicing with Lions 06-11-2013
Darius Slay CB DET
Second-round CB Darius Slay (knee scope) has resumed practicing at Lions minicamp.

Detroit Free Press
Slay immediately had two interceptions in his first practice with the team. The 36th pick in the draft, Slay had arthroscopic surgery in early May to fix a meniscus tear suffered at some point during the pre-draft process. The injury was never a big concern. Slay will compete to start opposite Chris Houston.
Raiders KR/WR Cribbs out until training camp 06-11-2013
Josh Cribbs WR IND
Raiders KR/WR Josh Cribbs (meniscus surgery) will be sidelined until training camp.

Vic Tafur on Twitter
There had been some confusion over when Cribbs would be ready to resume football activities after Jets GM John Idzik said his knee "wasn't quite there yet." Cribbs initially refuted the claim, but Coach Dennis Allen cleared it up today, stating his kick returner wont practice until training camp. Cribbs will be the Raiders' primary return man once the season starts.
Rams OC plans to use RB committee approach 06-11-2013
Daryl Richardson RB JAX
Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer anticipates using a "committee approach" in the backfield.
We'll see. The "committee" term is easy to use in June, when no Rams running back has separated from the pack. That will likely happen in August. Although 2012 change-of-pace back Daryl Richardson has the best history of production, he's probably the least likely to win the lead back job because the Rams fancy Richardson a perimeter runner. Isaiah Pead and rookie Zac Stacy are most likely in direct competition to lead St. Louis in carries.
McGahee used sparingly in first practice 06-11-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Willis McGahee received only a "couple" of team-drill reps at his first practice of minicamp Tuesday.

Denver Post
McGahee thinks he may have gotten more reps had he not skipped all of OTA season. "Probably, but hey we've got seven other running backs." Ronnie Hillman handled most of the first-team work, and rookie Montee Ball reportedly received "far more" than McGahee. "I'm always on the bubble," McGahee conceded.
Report: Austin Collie fully medically cleared 06-11-2013
Austin Collie WR NE
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on NFL 32 that free agent Austin Collie has received full medical clearance for both his knee and head. Collie is coming off a ruptured patellar tendon and has a long, well-publicized concussion history. Doctors have signed off on his medical health, and even his wife wants Collie to play, according to Mort. Collie recently tried out for the Patriots. The Ravens could be another intriguing landing spot because of Collie's history with offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell.
Romo participating in walkthrough 06-11-2013
Tony Romo QB DAL
Tony Romo (back) is throwing passes and participating in the walkthrough portions of minicamp.

ESPN Dallas
Romo's recovery time was initially supposed to be three weeks, but the team is proceeding cautiously with its franchise quarterback. Coach Jason Garrett said he's "made a lot of progress," but added the team is "erring on the side of caution." Romo is expected to be 100 percent before the start of training camp.
Marshal Yanda coming off shoulder surgery 06-11-2013
Marshal Yanda OG BAL
Ravens RG Marshal Yanda is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Aaron Wilson on Twitter
He's sitting out OTAs and minicamp, but will be ready for training camp. Despite myriad injuries entering year seven of his career -- he's undergone thigh and shoulder surgeries and two knee operations -- Yanda continues to play at an All-Pro level. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 2 overall guard in 2012.
Chargers DE Liuget primed for break-out year? 06-11-2013
Corey Liuget DT SD
The San Diego Union-Tribune has identified DE Corey Liuget as a player who has continued to improve, and considers him a breakout candidate.

Union-Tribune San Diego
Liuget was the No. 18 pick in the 2011 draft. He posted 50 tackles, seven sacks, and nine pass deflections in his sophomore season, but insists he's "way more explosive," this year. His growth is attributed to improved footwork and a better diet than in previous seasons. Despite having a weak roster overall, the Chargers will have one of the better defensive end tandems in Liuget and Kendall Reyes.
RB Stewart out until at least training camp 06-11-2013
Jonathan Stewart RB CAR
Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart will remained sidelined until training camp, and possibly beyond.

Jonathan Jones on Twitter
Stewart, who has battled nagging injuries habitually since entering the league, is still rehabbing from offseason surgery on both ankles. Coach Ron Rivera said he's on track to be back for the start of camp, but we wouldn't be surprised if Stewart is eased back slowly as a precautionary measure. He'll once again enter the season with high expectations to be the feature back in Carolina.
Coughlin frustrated with Victor Cruz's absenc 06-11-2013
Victor Cruz WR NYG
Giants coach Tom Coughlin expressed frustration Tuesday with unsigned RFA Victor Cruz's absence from the entire offseason program.

Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter
We understand Coughlin's point of view, but it wouldn't be in Cruz's best interest to risk injury when he doesn't even have a contract. The clock is running," Coughlin said. "This is something that at least he could've benefited by, if nothing else, this minicamp. But you have to realize that there is no contract at this time. So without a contract he's not going to be here."
Jags release TE Veldman 06-11-2013
Matt Veldman TE WAS
Jaguars released tight end Matt Veldman

Ryan O'Halloran on Twitter
Veldman was an undrafted free agent in 2012, who missed all of last year with a torn ACL. He had just resumed practicing last week.
Greg Childs moving around on field again 06-11-2013
Greg Childs WR MIN
Vikings WR Greg Childs (torn patellar tendons) caught passes in front of reporters following Tuesday's OTA practice.

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities
He also dunked a ball over the crossbar before exiting the field. "I've been cutting like that for a good little while now," Childs said. "I'm taking it day by day. I feel good, but at the same time, the Vikings aren't rushing me. That's why I'm doing so well now." He remains a long shot for any 2013 impact.
Vonta Leach's first choice to play for Texans 06-11-2013
Vonta Leach RB BAL
The Houston Chronicle reports free agent FB Vonta Leach's "first choice" is to rejoin the Texans.

John McClain on Twitter
Unfortunately for Leach, the Texans have Greg Jones, whom they guaranteed $240,000 on a one-year contract. It's an unlikely landing spot. Leach might be smart to set his sights on the Browns, where OC Norv Turner has a history of effective fullback play (e.g. Lorenzo Neal) and teaches a power run game.
Dolphins claim TE/FB Evan Rodriguez 06-11-2013
Evan Rodriguez TE TB
Dolphins claimed FB/TE Evan Rodriguez off waivers from the Bears.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
LaMarr Woodley shows up to minicamp in shape 06-11-2013
LaMarr Woodley LB ARZ
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review observed at Steelers minicamp that OLB LaMarr Woodley "looks great" and "definitely shed some pounds."

Ken Laird on Twitter
After a disappointing 2012 season that generated grumblings about Woodley's weight, he promised to "get after it" in the Steelers' offseason conditioning program. Sounds like it's worked. Pittsburgh badly needs Woodley to step up as its franchise pass rusher with James Harrison moving on and two youngsters (Jason Worilds, Jarvis Jones) competing on the opposite side.
B.J. Coleman could 'jump' Graham Harrell 06-11-2013
B.J. Coleman QB GB
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel suggests B.J. Coleman could "jump" Graham Harrell to be the Packers' backup quarterback in preseason games.

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Coleman is the more talented of the backup competitors, while heady Harrell is a favorite of the coaches. "He's very talented," coach Mike McCarthy said of Coleman. "I really like the development and improvement in his fundamentals ... He needs to play." Coleman will play plenty in August exhibition games.
Sanchez taking all 1st-team reps in minicamp 06-11-2013
Mark Sanchez QB DAL
Mark Sanchez took all the first-team reps on the first day of Jets minicamp Tuesday.

ESPN New York
The Jets are really bad at this whole "replacing their ineffective quarterback" thing. Nevertheless, there's something to be said for Gang Green not anointing second-rounder Geno Smith the way they did "Sanchize" in 2009. But the fact remains that Sanchez is a lame duck under center. The sooner the Jets move on, the better.
Harbs: Jenkins coming off best week as 49er 06-11-2013
A.J. Jenkins WR DAL
Speaking Tuesday, coach Jim Harbaugh said A.J. Jenkins is coming off his best week of practice in a 49ers uniform.

Sacramento Bee
OC Greg Roman agreed. "(Just) made some clutch catches for us moving the ball," Roman said. "Just made plays, did all the right things, made plays when he had the opportunity. And he just needs to continue to do that." Jenkins has had few highlights as a 49er, so even a good showing in pad-less practices is noteworthy. He's battling with Quinton Patton for a starting job.
Posey (Achilles') resumes on-field work 06-11-2013
DeVier Posey WR DEN
Texans WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') has resumed on-field running and agility work.

Nick Scurfield on Twitter
Posey is rehabbing on the side field just five months after tearing his Achilles' tendon in the Texans' Divisional Round loss. He's still a good bet to begin the year on the PUP list, but it's clear Posey will get on the field at some point in 2013.
Anthony Spencer dealing with left knee issue 06-11-2013
Anthony Spencer LB NO
Cowboys LE Anthony Spencer is sitting out of minicamp with a hyperextended left knee he suffered in OTAs.

ESPN Dallas
Kafka latest former Pat to wind up in JAX 06-11-2013
Mike Kafka QB MIN
Jaguars claimed QB Mike Kafka off waivers from the Patriots. The pipeline of former Patriots to Northern Florida continues unabated. If not for the Raiders, the Jaguars would have the worst quarterback situation in the league, but Kafka still isn't a realistic candidate to crack the 53-man roster. He simply doesn't have the arm strength.
Bears ink DT Sedrick Ellis to one-year deal 06-11-2013
Sedrick Ellis DT CHI
Bears agreed to terms with DT Sedrick Ellis, formerly of the Saints, on a one-year contract.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Ellis will provide depth along the Bears' deep defensive line. The 2008 first-round bust has notched just 0.5 sacks over the past two seasons despite starting 31 games. That horrendous number would be a bit easier to swallow had Ellis stood out as a run defender, but he hasn't. Going on 28, Ellis won't be guaranteed a roster spot, but has the inside track. Perhaps he'll be more effective in a reserve role, but we doubt it.
Reporter calls Manti Te'o 'NFL-ready' 06-11-2013
Manti Te'o MLB SD
Longtime Chargers reporter Kevin Acee considers second-round ILB Manti Te'o "NFL-ready."

Kevin Acee on Twitter
A veteran member of the Chargers beat for the Union-Tribune San Diego, Acee calls Te'o one of the three most NFL-ready rookies he's covered the past nine years, grouping him with Shawne Merriman and Kendall Reyes. Te'o's instincts are one of his strong suits, so it's not a surprise he's shining in pad-less practices. It's tempting to call Te'o "mature" for the way he's handled interviews and press conferences, but also a reach for someone who was duped by a nonexistent girlfriend. We don't doubt Te'o could be a steady, if unspectacular, presence for the Chargers defense this season.
Kolb takes first QB rep at Bills minicamp 06-11-2013
Kevin Kolb QB BUF
Kevin Kolb took the first snap at quarterback in Bills minicamp.

Bills on Twitter
First-rounder E.J. Manuel was the second man up after the Bills released Tarvaris Jackson on Monday. It's a veteran courtesy for Kolb, though the Bills should give Manuel every chance to win the starting job in camp. One of the rawer first-round quarterbacks you will ever see, it's far from a given Manuel will run with the opportunity.
Harbs: Manningham back at 'some point' 06-11-2013
Mario Manningham WR NYG
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh expects Mario Manningham (ACL, PCL surgery) to be ready for the regular season "at some point."

Matt Maiocco on Twitter
In other words, he's not putting a timeline on it. Manningham thinks he'll be ready for Week 1, but is still just five and a half months removed from tearing up his knee in Week 16. The 49ers are thin at receiver, but will be even thinner if they rush Manningham back and he suffers a setback.
Aaron Hernandez catches passes in minicamp 06-11-2013
Aaron Hernandez TE N/A
Aaron Hernandez (shoulder surgery) is catching passes at Patriots minicamp.

ESPN Boston
Hernandez isn't participating in team drills, but remains on track to be 100 percent for training camp. The trick will be staying that way. With Rob Gronkowski (arm, back) doubtful for Week 1, Hernandez might not risk his health by playing a ton of preseason snaps.
Terrelle Pryor unimpressive in minicamp 06-11-2013
Terrelle Pryor WR CLE
Terrelle Pryor was unimpressive on the first day of Raiders mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

Vittorio Tafur on Twitter
Pryor's struggles were noted by three different beat writers, with Vittorio Tafur bluntly stating he "continues to not show much improvement." Pryor was similarly unimpressive in OTAs. The fact that the 6-foot-6, 233-pound quarterback can't even light up a padless practice bodes poorly for his showdown with rookie Tyler Wilson for No. 2 duties.
Dobbins missed OTAs to work on house 06-11-2013
Tim Dobbins LB DAL
Texans ILB Tim Dobbins skipped OTAs to oversee the construction of his house.

Houston Chronicle
Coach Gary Kubiak was not pleased with his reserve linebacker. "I had an obligation to my family," Dobbins said Tuesday. "I've been having this house a year already, demoed it all myself. I've been trying to work on it myself and just trying to learn another skill." Due just $840,000, Dobbins' desire to "learn a new skill" shouldn't cost him his roster spot after he started six games in 2012.
Scott Chandler taking part in Bills minicamp 06-11-2013
Scott Chandler TE NE
Bills TE Scott Chandler (torn ACL) is participating in minicamp.
Chandler is almost certainly limited to individual drills, but it's another positive step in his impressive recovery. Just like Adrian Peterson in 2011, Chandler tore up his knee in Week 16. It's looking more realistic that the red-zone threat will be ready for Week 1.
McGahee: I will be the starter in Week 1 06-11-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Willis McGahee still considers himself the Broncos' starting running back.

Lindsay Jones on Twitter
McGahee appears to have missed multiple memos while he was blowing off OTAs. Thanks to his age, injury history and $2.5 million non-guaranteed salary, McGahee is squarely on the roster bubble, and unlikely to start even if he keeps his spot. We're expecting McGahee to earn his walking papers, but with the Broncos on the Super Bowl-or-bust trail, it wouldn't be stunning if they decided to keep a player with McGahee's experience. It would likely have to be at a lower price, however.
Jabar Gaffney not trying out for Patriots 06-11-2013
Jabar Gaffney WR MIA
Updating an earlier item, free agent Jabar Gaffney is not trying out for the Patriots at this week's minicamp.

Ben Volin on Twitter
Very well then. Going on 33, Gaffney caught just four passes in three games for the Dolphins last season, and has yet to make a visit in free agency.
Roethlisberger: I could play this Sunday 06-11-2013
Ben Roethlisberger QB PIT
Ben Roethlisberger (knee surgery) says he could "play Sunday if I had to."

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Ben has already shed his crutches, and reiterated that he'll be full-go for camp. "It feels great," Roethlisberger said. "I saw (the doctor) this morning. He was pleasantly surprised with the range of motion and where we're at with the swelling." For a player with Roethlisberger's injury history, no ailment should be written off, but his knee won't be a concern come Week 1.
Ryan Broyles gets in work in team drills 06-11-2013
Ryan Broyles WR DET
Ryan Broyles (torn ACL) took part in team drills in Tuesday's minicamp session.

Lions on Twitter
Mikel Leshoure takes part in team drills 06-11-2013
Mikel LeShoure RB DET
Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) took part in team drills at Tuesday's minicamp session.

Lions on Twitter
Leshoure doesn't expect to be full-go before for camp, but this is a positive sign for his recovery. Leshoure is doubtful to take part in team drills for all three days of minicamp.
FS Delmas still not practicing, not talking 06-11-2013
Louis Delmas S MIA
Lions FS Louis Delmas (knees) isn't taking part in minicamp, and refused to provide an update on his status Tuesday.

Detroit News
"I don't know what to tell you, I've been hurt," Delmas said defensively. "Can you leave me alone, seriously." Delmas went on to half-heartedly claim his knee felt "great." It's unknown if the oft-injured safety will be ready for training camp. "Lou is working hard," coach Jim Schwartz said. "He'll be back on the field sometime."
Ed Reed evasive about hip at Texans minicamp 06-11-2013
Ed Reed S NYJ
Ed Reed (hip surgery) doesn't expect to have a good sense of where he's at in his rehab before training camp.

Stephanie Stradley on Twitter
"It's going well right now," Reed said. "There's really no timeline. We're just gonna keep on grinding and keep on working and shoot for September." Reed again termed the surgery as "minor," and speculated he may have suffered the injury on Tom Brady's infamous kick in the AFC Championship Game. Reed will almost certainly begin camp on the active/PUP list, and will see few, if any, snaps in the preseason.
Levitre (knee) resumes practicing Tuesday 06-11-2013
Andy Levitre OG ATL
Titans LG Andy Levitre (knee soreness) resumed individual work in minicamp on Tuesday.

Jim Wyatt on Twitter
It was his first practice of any kind in a Titans uniform. The key will be returning to team drills, but it's a promising sign ahead of training camp. Levitre has been dealing with soreness in his right knee, which he had scoped in January. It would be a disaster for Tennessee if Levitre wasn't ready for Week 1, so he figures to be brought along slowly in camp.
Vikings SLB Chad Greenway gets knee scoped 06-11-2013
Chad Greenway OLB MIN
Vikings SLB Chad Greenway will have his knee scoped on Wednesday, but is expected to be "fine" for training camp.

Tom Pelissero on Twitter
An MRI revealed some things that "needed to (be cleaned) up," but nothing serious. Greenway hasn't missed a game since becoming a starter in 2007, so there's every reason to believe he'll be ready to go for camp. Greenway graded out as the No. 21 4-3 outside linebacker in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
Schiano heaps praise on Doug Martin 06-11-2013
Doug Martin RB TB
Bucs coach Greg Schiano says Doug Martin "looks better physically" than he did as a rookie, and believes he can "(take) his game to another level" this season.

Rick Stroud on Twitter
It's not exactly a surprise, but Schiano has been heaping praise on his second-year back all offseason. Already proven as an every-down warrior who can handle himself both near the goal-line and in the passing game, Martin will challenge for top-three status at running back this season.
Colts sign Ahmad Bradshaw to one-year deal 06-11-2013
Ahmad Bradshaw RB IND
Colts agreed to terms with RB Ahmad Bradshaw, formerly of the Giants, on a one-year contract.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Shanny expects to sign Donte' Stallworth 06-11-2013
Donte Stallworth WR WAS
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan expects to sign free agent Donte' Stallworth following this week's minicamp.

Rich Campbell on Twitter
Shanny expects to sign the deep threat following his three-day tryout, barring an "an unexpected drop in play." Going on 33, Stallworth played for the Redskins in 2011, but spent most of 2012 on the street/injured reserve. He'd be far from guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster.
Gabe Carimi playing right tackle on Tuesday 06-11-2013
Gabe Carimi T ATL
New Bucs OL Gabe Carimi played right tackle at Tuesday's minicamp session, but coach Greg Schiano believes he has the "flexibility to play somewhere else."

Rick Stroud on Twitter
Carimi will undoubtedly see time at guard, but it's certainly notable that he lined up at tackle for his first Bucs practice. Carimi's most likely role will be super-sub, but this is an indication he could push RT Demar Dotson for a starting job. Schiano takes no prisoners.
Bengals fining RT Smith for minicamp absence 06-11-2013
Andre Smith OT MIN
The Bengals are fining RT Andre Smith for his absence from mandatory minicamp.

Profootballtalk on
Smith is tending to a personal issue, but whatever it is, it's not tugging at coach Marvin Lewis' heartstrings. "You have to be fair. There have to be ramifications," Lewis told FOX Cincinnati. The issue is reportedly unrelated to Smith's January arrest on weapons charges. He can be fined a maximum of $66,150 if he misses all three days of minicamp. Worries about Smith's post-getting paid behavior are already coming true.
'Possible' Seahawks look into T-Jack 06-11-2013
Tarvaris Jackson QB SEA
ESPN's John Clayton reports "it's possible" the Seahawks sign free agent Tarvaris Jackson to back up Russell Wilson.

John Clayton on Twitter
Clayton might just be guessing - he often does - but is based in Seattle, and it makes sense on paper. Jackson was the Seahawks' primary starter in 2011, and he'd be an upgrade on current backup Brady Quinn. Quinn lacks the talent for any system, but particularly Seattle's burgeoning read-option behemoth.
Pacman Jones pleads not guilty 06-11-2013
Adam Jones CB CIN
Bengals CB Pacman Jones pleaded not guilty to an assault charge.

Associated Press
The charge stems from an incident on July 29 in which Pacman says he was hit in the head with a beer bottle. He claims he turned around and slapped the assailant, who turned out to be a woman. The NFL has confirmed that they're aware of the incident and will review it at the appropriate time. If any charges stick, Pacman is looking at a long suspension due to his off-field history.
Robert Griffin III still on track for camp 06-11-2013
Robert Griffin QB CLE
Robert Griffin III (knee) reiterated that he's "pretty confident" he'll be ready to go when the Redskins open training camp.

Grant Paulsen on Twitter
The Redskins will kick off camp on July 25. Griffin continues to work out with no setbacks and draw glowing reports from observers. It's fair to say he's ahead of schedule.
Jeremy Kerley back at practice 06-11-2013
Jeremy Kerley WR SF
Jeremy Kerley (heel) has resumed practicing.

Rich Cimini on Twitter
Kerley had some heel issues last year, but played in all 16 games. It's not a concern going forward as he slides back into his customary slot role.
Willis McGahee reports for mandatory minicamp 06-11-2013
Willis McGahee RB CLE
Willis McGahee reported to the Broncos' mandatory minicamp Tuesday.

Lindsay Jones on Twitter
Like many products of "The U," McGahee didn't show for voluntary sessions. The problem is that McGahee is 32, coming off a broken leg, is owed $2.5 million in base salary and the Broncos have two young running backs in place. He's certainly no lock to stick on the final roster.
Kevin Ogletree in lead for No. 3 duties? 06-11-2013
Kevin Ogletree WR NYG
The Tampa Tribune says the Bucs are "very high" on WR Kevin Ogletree.

Tampa Tribune
Ogletree appears to have a leg up on the competition for the No. 3 job behind Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams. Tiquan Underwood posted a 28/425/2 line on 55 targets in that role last year. It's not a battle fantasy owners need to watch closely.
Packers add 12th wideout to roster 06-11-2013
Terrell Sinkfield WR MIN
Packers signed WR Terrell Sinkfield.

Wes Hodkiewicz on Twitter
An undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa, Sinkfield has already been waived by the Dolphins. He comes to Green Bay as the 12th receiver on the 90-man roster. Sinkfield's 4.3 wheels make him a kick return prospect.
Greg Hardy ready to play out current contract 06-11-2013
Greg Hardy DE DAL
Panthers RE Greg Hardy reported for mandatory minicamp Tuesday and said he will not hold out of training camp.

Steve Reed on Twitter
Hardy is coming off a 61-tackle, 11-sack campaign and is owed just $1.35 million in the final year of his rookie contract. But the Panthers are strapped against the cap and the defensive end market has gone soft. Hardy needs to play out this season at the same level as last year and he'll get paid as an unrestricted free agent.
Hakeem Nicks confirms he won't stage holdout 06-11-2013
Hakeem Nicks WR NO
Hakeem Nicks confirmed he will not stage a holdout at training camp.

Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter
Nicks is entering the final year of his contract and skipped voluntary OTAs, but he's not going to make a stink. Coming off another bout of lower-leg injuries that led to a 53/692/2 line, he's in no position to demand big bucks right now. Nicks showed up for the start of Tuesday's mandatory minicamp, will work out on a limited basis and get set for his contract-year push. Health is a concern, but there's plenty of bounce-back appeal here.
Jabar Gaffney getting a look with Patriots 06-11-2013
Jabar Gaffney WR MIA
Free agent Jabar Gaffney is at Patriots minicamp Tuesday.

Shalise Manza Young on Twitter
Gaffney is likely getting a three-day tryout. He spent three years with the Patriots between 2006 and 2008, catching 85 balls for 1,059 yards and eight touchdowns in 43 games. Now 32 years old, he'd just be insurance on the outside.
Andre Smith skips out on mandatory minicamp 06-11-2013
Andre Smith OT MIN

Billy Bajema re-signs with Ravens 06-11-2013
Billy Bajema TE BAL
Ravens re-signed TE Billy Bajema. Bajema was the Ravens No. 3 tight end last year, catching zero balls in eight appearances. He can help in the blocking game now that Vonta Leach is gone.
Ravens release veteran lead blocker Leach 06-11-2013
Vonta Leach RB BAL
Ravens released FB Vonta Leach.

Adam Schefter on Twitter
Leach graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 lead blocker last year, but saw his role marginalized after OC Cam Cameron was replaced by Jim Caldwell. The Ravens believe they can get by with fourth-round rookie Kyle Juszczyk, thus saving Leach's $4.33 million cap number. We'd only downgrade Ray Rice very slightly. As a first-team All-Pro in three straight seasons, the 31-year-old Leach will land on his feet. The Giants could come calling thanks to Henry Hynoski's knee injury.
Arians remains pleased with Floyd's progress 06-11-2013
Michael Floyd WR NE
Coach Bruce Arians said he's already seen Michael Floyd "making leaps and bounds getting better."
Austin Collie had a workout with the Patriots 06-11-2013
Austin Collie WR NE
The Patriots recently worked out free agent WR Austin Collie.

Mike Reiss on Twitter
As usual, the Patriots are willing to at least kick the tires on any free agent available. Collie is coming off a ruptured right patella tendon and has a frighteningly long concussion history, but wants back in the NFL. He's admitted that he won't be 100 percent until October. The Patriots currently have Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman at slot receiver, making a signing right now unlikely.
Belichick won't comment on Tebow's position 06-11-2013
Tim Tebow QB PHI
Coach Bill Belichick declined Tuesday to comment on what position Tim Tebow will play.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter
As expected, Belichick revealed no information and gave no insight into the Tebow signing. "What position? We're going to do what's best for the football team," Belichick said. He cut the press conference off on his own after getting fed up with too many Tebow questions. "Tim's a talented player that's smart and works hard. We'll see how it goes." ESPN is reporting that Tebow was signed to play quarterback. CBS' Mike Freeman says he'll be used elsewhere in addition to under center. There are 2014 playing time incentives in Tebow's contract that are not limited to quarterback snaps.
Stephen Hill to practice on Tuesday 06-11-2013
Stephen Hill WR CAR
Stephen Hill (knee) will practice Tuesday.

Manish Mehta on Twitter
Hill has experienced some fluid and swelling in his surgically-repaired right knee, but the Jets are brushing it off as part of the healing process. After this week's minicamp, he'll be off until training camp. The Jets desperately need the talented yet raw Hill to take a leap forward in Year 2 as a starter opposite Santonio Holmes.
Danny Amendola looking good with Pats so far 06-11-2013
Danny Amendola WR NE
Danny Amendola seems to have built up a level of trust with Tom Brady quicker than the Patriots' other new receivers.

Talks still ongoing between Bradshaw, Colts 06-11-2013
Ahmad Bradshaw RB IND
The Colts and free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw are still in negotiations.

Mike Chappell on Twitter
Bradshaw clearly wants more than the veteran minimum and the two sides remain in "heavy negotiations." There's a little bit of urgency as the Colts kick off their mandatory minicamp Tuesday. A report has surfaced that the Patriots could have interest in Bradshaw, but that smells like an agent-driven leak intended to increase leverage in talks with the Colts. Bradshaw's best path to playing time is in Indy.
Kenny Stills didn't stand out at OTAs 06-11-2013
Kenny Stills WR MIA
Saints WR Kenny Stills reportedly did not stand out much at OTAs or minicamps.

New Orleans Times-Picayune
A fifth-round rookie out of Oklahoma, Stills is behind both Joe Morgan and Nick Toon. There's significantly more Dynasty appeal here than redraft. Stills fits in both the "Z" and slot positions, and Lance Moore will turn 30 in August.
Jimmy Graham stands out at Saints OTAs 06-11-2013
Jimmy Graham TE SEA
Jimmy Graham played at "the highest of levels" during Saints OTAs and minicamp.

New Orleans Times-Picayune
Per the Times-Picayune, the "synergy between Graham and Drew Brees is unlike any other tight end-quarterback combo in the league, and it was on full display during minicamp." Graham wore a small brace on his wrist, but is now nearly 100 percent. Given Rob Gronkowski's injury situation, the tight end position is really thinning out. Value based drafters need to consider Graham at the back end of the first round. A down year in 2012 still resulted in a 85/982/9 line.
Tim Tebow's contract has no guaranteed money 06-11-2013
Tim Tebow QB PHI
Tim Tebow's two-year contract with the Patriots contains no guaranteed money.

Hakeem Nicks shows up for Giants' minicamp 06-11-2013
Hakeem Nicks WR NO
Hakeem Nicks reported for Giants' minicamp Tuesday.

Steve Weatherford on Twitter
Nicks' situation is not similar to Victor Cruz's. Nicks is under contract for the 2013 season, so skipping this week's mandatory minicamp would have resulted in fines. His absence from the voluntary sessions was simply a way for a veteran to let the team know he's entering the final year of his deal and doesn't want to risk injury unnecessarily. We wouldn't expect to hear much more about Nicks holding out or his contract. He has no leverage after more lower-leg injuries led to just 692 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Ryan: DE Coleman is best 3-4 run defender 06-11-2013
Kenyon Coleman DE NO
Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan called Kenyon Coleman "the best run defender in football as a 3-4 end."

New Orleans Times-Picayune
The Saints brought in Ryan to fix their defense, which gave up a league-worst 147.6 yards per game rushing last season. He in turn brought in Coleman, who will play on early downs as a sitautional run stuffer. Coleman missed nine games while with the Cowboys last season due to a torn triceps.
Sullivan gives Freeman a vote of confidence 06-11-2013
Josh Freeman QB IND
Offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan recently gave Josh Freeman a vote of confidence.

Pewter Report
Even though Freeman set franchise records in yards (4,065) and passing touchdowns (27) last season, head coach Greg Schiano is asking him to compete with third-round rookie Mike Glennon. The Bucs have also declined to engage in contract negotiations even though Freeman is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Sullivan is singing a different tune. "Josh Freeman is our quarterback, and he's a heck of a player," he said.
Tim Tebow not guaranteed a roster spot 06-11-2013
Tim Tebow QB PHI
ESPN's Mike Reiss confirms that "no one should be surprised" if Tim Tebow isn't on the Patriots' final roster.

No update on MJD sucker punch case 06-11-2013
Maurice Jones-Drew RB OAK
The Florida state attorney's office still has no update on if formal charges will be filed against Maurice Jones-Drew.

Florida Times Union
The incident at a St. Augustine restaurant is being called a one-punch altercation by police. They've sent their findings to the attorney's office, who will decide how to proceed. "It's the offseason," MJD said. "In the off-season, you can go out and do what you like. We went out, we were having a good time and an unfortunate situation happened." Jones-Drew continues to rehab his foot injury away from the team. His status for the outset of training camp is unclear as he preps for what will be a messy contract year.
Harvin is practicing both inside and outside 06-11-2013
Percy Harvin WR BUF
Percy Harvin has practiced both in the slot and outside during Seahawks' OTAs.

USA Today
Harvin's primary position will be inside, but the Seahawks are looking for any way to get the ball in his hands. He's also taken handoffs and received returns. "We hope to see him catch the ball on the move, so he can use his stuff," coach Pete Carroll said. "It's not going to change our football team in terms of what we want to do, we're just going to add him in and cut him loose, let him go."
Cowboys still want Brent to contribute 06-11-2013
Josh Brent DT DAL
According to ESPN's Ed Werfer, the Cowboys still believe that NT Josh Brent will contribute on the field one day.

Profootballtalk on
Brent, accused of driving drunk and testing positive for marijuana during the accident that caused teammate Jerry Brown's death, is awaiting trial on manslaughter chargers. Even if he's found not guilty, the league will likely suspend him for a year. But the Cowboys apparently think that it's possible Brent can contribute in 2014 or beyond, so he stays on the roster.
Shea McClellin is battling plantar fasciitis 06-11-2013
Shea McClellin LB NE
Bears DE Shea McClellin has been battling plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Chicago Tribune
It must not be a severe case because McClellin has been active in OTAs and the team expects him to participate in this week's minicamp. The No. 19 overall pick in last year's draft missed two games last season, but neither absence was due to foot woes. McClellin finished with just 2.5 sacks as a situational rusher.
