Dion Waiters shoots 3-of-15 in loss to GSW 12-29-2013
Dion Waiters G CLE
Dion Waiters shot 3-of-15 from the field in Sunday's loss, finishing with eight points, five rebounds, four assists and five turnovers. The good news is that he logged 39 minutes off the bench and his 15 shot attempts were second-most on the team behind only Kyrie Irving. Fantasy owners will have to prepare for some brutal performances from Waiters, who is still bothered by wrist tendinitis. He's averaging 15.2 points per game despite shooting just 42.7 percent from the field and 67.7 percent from the free throw line.
Andre Iguodala plays glue-guy in win vs. Cavs 12-29-2013
Andre Iguodala G GS
Andre Iguodala only scored eight points in Sunday's win vs. Cleveland, but he packed the stat sheet with seven rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and a season-high two blocks. This was Iguodala's first double-digit assist game since Nov. 20, and his best all-around effort since returning from a hamstring injury two weeks ago. He isn't asked to score much for Golden State, and his 57.8 percent FT shooting is a minor drag, but the rest of his numbers are solid and he's even knocking down a career-best 1.6 three-pointers per game, giving fantasy owners an unexpected boost.
Xavier Henry leaves Sunday w/ strained knee 12-29-2013
Xavier Henry G LAL
Xavier Henry strained his knee during Sunday's game and he will not return.

Dave Shore on Twitter
We should get a better feel for the severity of the strain on Monday. If he's forced to miss any games, beginning Tuesday vs. the Bucks, the Lakers would be even more desperate for playmakers and Nick Young, Wes Johnson and Jodie Meeks would all absorb a few extra minutes.
James Harden scores season-low eight points 12-29-2013
James Harden G HOU
James Harden missed seven of his nine FG attempts in Sunday's road loss, finishing with a season-low eight points, three rebounds and three assists. It wasn't the performance Harden was hoping for against his former team. Dwight Howard (nine points, nine rebounds) was similarly quiet tonight but both of the Rockets' stars should fare better against the Kings on Tuesday, the first of just two games for Houston next week.
Aaron Brooks scores 17 points off bench 12-29-2013
Aaron Brooks G CHI
Taking advantage of extra opportunities in a blowout loss, Aaron Brooks came off the bench for 17 points, three 3-pointers, two assists, one steal and one block vs. OKC on Sunday. He didn't turn the ball over in 23 minutes of action and there's not much to glean from this game for fantasy purposes. The Rockets' backup PG will have occasional outbursts, at least until Patrick Beverley (hand) returns, but he's too sporadic to be relied upon in 12-team leagues.
Thunder cool off Terrence Jones' hot streak 12-29-2013
Terrence Jones F HOU
Terrence Jones posted a dud on Sunday, scoring two points with nine rebounds and one block in just 22 minutes. He played the fewest minutes of any starter and fantasy owners but his owners can take solace in the fact that none of Houston's players fared particularly well in this lopsided loss to the Thunder. Jones was averaging 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in his previous three games.
Jeremy Lin struggles in blowout loss vs. OKC 12-29-2013
Jeremy Lin G LAL
Jeremy Lin struggled to just six points, one assist and three turnovers in 24 minutes vs. the Thunder on Sunday. Chandler Parsons (15 points) was the only Rockets starter in double figures as Kevin McHale threw in the towel early in the second half, and Lin's fantasy owners will have to shrug off this lousy game. With Patrick Beverley (hand) expected out until at least late January, Lin should be a rock-solid option as Houston's starting PG.
Reggie Jackson excels in limited minutes 12-29-2013
Reggie Jackson G OKC
Reggie Jackson scored 16 points and doled out eight assists in just 26 minutes on Sunday, as the Thunder sped past the Rockets for their fourth straight victory. Jackson made 7-of-12 field goals with two 3-pointers, without turning the ball over once. This gem simply underscores his must-own status while Russell Westbrook recovers from knee surgery.
Danny Green falls flat in Sunday's defeat 12-29-2013
Danny Green G SA
Danny Green couldn't duplicate Thursday's 22-point gem, as he finished Sunday's home win with seven points on 3-of-10 shooting. Six of his attempts came from downtown, which is about right for Green since a ridiculous 58 percent of his shot attempts in the NBA have been 3-pointers. He's scored 10+ points in consecutive games just twice all season, and his quiet contributions in 3s, steals and blocks are easier to swallow in roto leagues.
Kevin Durant's 33 pts lead OKC past Rockets 12-29-2013
Kevin Durant F OKC
Kevin Durant dropped 33 points, 13 rebounds and five assists before taking a seat as the Thunder defeated the Rockets in Oklahoma City on Sunday. The No. 1 fantasy player added three 3-pointers, one steal and one block and his stock will only improve as he takes on a bigger role offensively. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
Jeremy Lamb scores career-high 22 points 12-29-2013
Jeremy Lamb G OKC
Jeremy Lamb came off the bench for a career-high 22 points in Sunday's easy win vs. the Rockets, making 8-of-10 FGs including three 3-pointers. Tonight's lopsided score afforded Lamb some extra playing time (26 minutes), but he should continue to play a bigger role with Russell Westbrook (knee) out until the All-Star break. He added five rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block tonight, a well-rounded game which seems like a fluke, but owners in search of points and 3s should give him a long look.
Isaiah Thomas hits 10-of-17 FGs w/ five 3s 12-29-2013
Isaiah Thomas G PHO
Isaiah Thomas drained 10-of-17 shots, including five 3-pointers, to finish a tough road loss in San Antonio with 27 points, four rebounds and nine assists. Thomas has been brilliant since taking over the PG spot full-time. As a starter he's averaging 21.0 points, 2.4 threes, 3.6 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals, and he's been a top-30 option over the past two weeks (eight-cat). Congratulations if you held on tight while IT2 was splitting time with Greivis Vasquez to begin the season.
Rudy Gay posts all-around line in Kings' loss 12-29-2013
Rudy Gay F SAC
The Kings lost on Sunday despite a solid all-around effort from Rudy Gay, who notched 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks without a single turnover. The lack of turnovers is crucial since he was averaging 5.0 in the Kings' previous four games, which took a major bite out of his nine-cat fantasy value. Gay's shooting has been more accurate since joining the Kings but his fantasy value hasn't changed dramatically, and he's returned mid-round value in Sacramento's past seven games.
Ben McLemore awful in 31 minutes vs. Spurs 12-29-2013
Ben McLemore G SAC
Despite logging 31 minutes vs. the Spurs on Sunday, Ben McLemore only had five points, two turnovers and four personal fouls to his credit. It was a dismal outing for this year's No. 7 draft pick, who came in shooting 37.8 percent from the field with more turnovers (32) than assists (30) on the season. He has some deep-league specialist appeal thanks to solid 3-point range coupled with a starting SG job, but most fantasy owners should look elsewhere for a perimeter shooter.
Spurs hold off Kings for 112-104 victory 12-29-2013
Tony Parker G SA
Tony Parker had seven assists and 22 points on Sunday, including a crucial 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter which helped the Spurs defeat the Kings 112-104.

NBA.com
Parker matched his season-high with two 3-pointers (he's done it four times) and fantasy owners should view it as a bonus whenever he's connecting beyond the arc. The Spurs' veteran ranks 15th in the league in 'assist opportunities per game' even though he's averaging under 31 minutes, and the hope is that his temperate playing time will prevent random DNPs as the season progresses.
Spurs win behind Manu's season-high 28 points 12-29-2013
Manu Ginobili G SA
The Spurs earned their second straight win on Sunday behind Manu Ginobili's season-high 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-9 from downtown. Manu also sank 6-of-6 free throws with three boards, three assists, two steals and just one turnover in 30 minutes. His per-minute efficiency has been off the charts this season, as usual, and he's only sat out one game all season (as a precaution during a back-to-back set in mid-December). We anticipate a few more frustrating DNPs courtesy of Gregg Popovich, but for now Manu belongs in all fantasy lineups.
Kawhi Leonard quiet in 29 minutes vs. Kings 12-29-2013
Kawhi Leonard F SA
Kawhi Leonard played 29 minutes in Sunday's victory, but he finished with just five points, one 3-pointer, two rebounds, three assists and one steal. This is nothing new for Kawhi, who rarely jumps off the stat sheet yet has maintained mid-round value thanks to career-highs in points (12.1), rebounds (6.4), assists (1.7) and steals (1.8). It's not the quantum leap we were hoping for in his third season and a big part of the problem is that he's shooting just 29.7 percent from downtown, which is allowing teams to sag off of him defensively. His perimeter shot should come around eventually, and fantasy owners should strive to remain patient.
Arron Afflalo shows no signs of sore ankle 12-29-2013
Arron Afflalo G DEN
Arron Afflalo played through a sore ankle on Sunday to finish with 21 points, one 3-pointer, three rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 42 minutes. He twisted his ankle on Friday but didn't miss a beat tonight, making 7-of-10 FGs in yet another efficient performance. In addition to making 48.1 percent of his FGs and 85.2 percent of his FTs this season, Afflalo is contributing career-highs in assists, rebounds and steals while ranking in the NBA's top-15 in 3-pointers made and 3-point percentage.
E'Twaun Moore returns from thigh injury 12-29-2013
E'Twaun Moore G ORL
Returning from his recent thigh injury, E'Twaun Moore scored three points in 12 minutes off Orlando's bench on Sunday. He turned the ball over two times and had no other stats to his credit in the home victory, so it was a forgettable return to action for Moore. He can safely be ignored in fantasy leagues as long as Jameer Nelson and Victor Oladipo are dominating the minutes at PG.
Mike Scott held to five points in 17 minutes 12-29-2013
Mike Scott F ATL
Mike Scott couldn't build on Saturday's 18-point loss vs. the Magic, as he finished with just five points, four rebounds and one steal in 17 bench minutes. Scott's ability to play multiple positions is useful for a Hawks team trying to regroup after losing Al Horford, but he won't be a reliable fantasy option unless Mike Budenholzer gives him considerably more playing time. On a per-36-minute basis, Scott has career averages of 18.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.2 blocks. Fantasy owners should keep those lousy defensive numbers in mind.
Elton Brand invisible in second start at C 12-29-2013
Elton Brand F ATL
Elton Brand started at center again on Sunday but only had seven points and two rebounds in 14 minutes. Pero Antic played 20 minutes off the bench, Mike Scott played 17 minutes and Gustavo Ayon barely saw the court. This situation has 'platoon' written all over it, and fantasy owners should hedge their bets unless one of Atlanta's big men steps into a 30-minute role.
Lou Williams hits four 3-pointers as starter 12-29-2013
Louis Williams G TOR
Lou Williams stepped up in another start on Sunday, making 6-of-16 field goals with four 3-pointers to finish with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Williams hasn't missed a game in December and it's very encouraging that he was able to do this on the second night of a back-to-back set. He was coming off a season-best 28 points on Saturday (with four 3-pointers) and shouldn't be floating on any waiver wires. DeMarre Carroll's return may send him back to the bench, but Al Horford's torn pectoral leaves a major void which Sweet Lou will do his part to fill.
Shelvin Mack gets hot off Hawks' bench 12-29-2013
Shelvin Mack G ATL
Shelvin Mack got hot late on Sunday, finishing with 14 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, but it wasn't enough for the short-handed Hawks to earn a win in Orlando. In the Hawks' past three contests he's averaging 9.3 points, 2.0 triples, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals. The backcourt rotation will tighten up once DeMarre Carroll (thumb) returns to action, but fantasy owners should keep an eye on Mack in case his role continues to grow.
C.J. Miles chips in 17 points in 23 minutes 12-29-2013
C.J. Miles G IND
C.J. Miles had 17 points, three 3-pointers and three steals in just 23 minutes on Sunday, marking his highest-scoring game since Nov. 4. He was scoreless in Cleveland's previous game and has routinely been in single-digits -- with typically sparse rebounds, assists and steals, he's not worth owning outside of deep fantasy leagues.
Kyrie Irving forces OT but Cavs fall again 12-29-2013
Kyrie Irving G CLE
Kyrie Irving drained a game-tying 3-pointer to force overtime vs. the Warriors, and went on to finish with 27 points in a disappointing home loss. Irving has found his groove, to say the least, after a frustrating start to the season. He made all three of his 3-pointers and all six of his free throws tonight, adding nine assists and one steal with just one turnover in 40 minutes. He should never have had the opportunity to tie the game with his timely triple, as Golden State should have fouled him, but the Warriors were able to regroup on OT and hand the Cavs their fifth straight defeat.
Anthony Bennett: Professional brick-layer 12-29-2013
Anthony Bennett F CLE
Anthony Bennett missed all four of his field goal attempts vs. Golden State, scoring three points off free throws in 11 minutes off the bench. The overall No. 1 draft pick is now shooting 27.7 percent on the season. That's the seventh-worst mark among players averaging at least 10 minutes per game, ahead of only Alexey Shved, Steve Nash, Danny Granger, Phil Pressey, Marquis Teague and Stephen Jackson.
Anderson Varejao chips in across the board 12-29-2013
Anderson Varejao C CLE
Anderson Varejao contributed across the board in Sunday's overtime defeat, finishing with eight points, 12 rebounds, one steal, two blocks and zero turnovers. He played 37 minutes and this is in line with our expectations for Varejao as the Cavs' default starting center now that the Andrew Bynum experiment has ended. A few more touches per game offensively should be coming, but Varejao's fantasy value is rooted in his rebounding (8.7 per game), steals (1.0) and blocks (0.8), while nine-cat owners will appreciate his scrupulous avoidance of turnovers (1.0).
Draymond Green helps GSW win fifth straight 12-29-2013
Draymond Green F GS
Draymond Green's defense helped Golden State pull out their fifth straight victory on Sunday, as he came off the bench for five points, 12 rebounds, one steal and four blocks in 25 minutes. He shot just 2-of-10 from the field but one of his makes was a 3-pointer, and he helped pick up the slack with David Lee (19 points) mired in foul trouble for most of the game. Tonight's solid performance doesn't change the fact that Green doesn't belong on fantasy rosters.
Stephen Curry grazes another triple-double 12-29-2013
Stephen Curry G GS
Stephen Curry scored 24 points in the first half to keep the Warriors in Sunday's game, and barely missed his second straight triple-double with 29 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists. Curry made 10-of-23 FGs, including five 3-pointers, while adding two steals, one block and five turnovers. He had been slumping from the field, shooting 35.2 percent in the past five games, though he's more than made up for those missed FGs with 6.0 rebounds, 11.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
Evan Turner (knee) will play vs. Lakers 12-29-2013
Evan Turner G IND
Evan Turner (knee) will play in Sunday's game vs. the Lakers.

Keith Pompey on Twitter
He sat out on Saturday with a sore right knee but the injury wasn't ever thought to be serious, as his quick return proves. Elliot Williams will likely shift to the bench.
Jordan Hill starts, Kaman (ankle) available 12-29-2013
Chris Kaman C POR
Chris Kaman (ankle) should be available for limited minutes off the Lakers' bench on Sunday.

Kamenetzky Brothers on Twitter
Jordan Hill will start vs. the 76ers, as expected, which he might have done even if Kaman were 100 percent healthy. Hill has nice upside against the Sixers' weak defense, but Kaman has limited upside as long as his ankle is hobbling him.
Omer Asik did not make the trip to OKC 12-29-2013
Omer Asik C NO
Omer Asik (knee) did not make the trip to Oklahoma City for Sunday's game.

Jonathan Feigen on Twitter
He is out indefinitely with his bum knee and the Rockets are in no rush to play him. There's no reason to play him at less than 100 percent because they wouldn't want him to aggravate anything before trading him. There really is no upside to stashing him in most formats with his inept offensive game, even if he winds up on a team like the Hawks.
Tony Douglas out with food poisoning 12-29-2013
Toney Douglas G MIA
Toney Douglas (illness) will not play against the Cavs due to food poisoning.

Rusty Simmons on Twitter
He reportedly had a bad teppanyaki experience on Saturday night. and hopefully he'll be well enough for Tuesday's game in Orlando. Douglas has no fantasy value while Stephen Curry is healthy.
Tiago Splitter good to go for Sunday 12-29-2013
Tiago Splitter C SA
Tiago Splitter (hamstring) is good to go for Sunday's game against the Kings.

Jeff McDonald on Twitter
The Spurs will use the same lineup as they did on Friday, meaning Splitter will join Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard and Marco Belinelli. He's having a tough season and isn't worth owning in standard leagues until he starts showing signs of life.
Lou Williams starting on Sunday 12-29-2013
Louis Williams G TOR
Lou Williams is starting against the Magic on Sunday.

Chris Vivlamore on Twitter
DeMarre Carroll will miss the next two games with his sore thumb, which pushes Kyle Korver over to small forward. Williams was tremendous on Saturday with 28 points, so he's worth starting while he's hot like this.
Arron Afflalo will start vs. Hawks on Sunday 12-29-2013
Arron Afflalo G DEN
Arron Afflalo (ankle) will start against the Hawks on Sunday night.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
He went through shootaround and was expected to play. Afflalo has caught fire over his last four, averaging 24.5 points, 4.5 boards, 3.3 assists and 3.0 triples on 59.3 percent from the field. He's making a strong case to be an All-Star and has been arguably the best value pick so far in fantasy leagues.
DeMarre Carroll (thumb) out for two games 12-29-2013
DeMarre Carroll F ATL
DeMarre Carroll (thumb) will miss the next two games.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Hawks call up Jared Cunningham 12-29-2013
Jared Cunningham G SAC
The Hawks have recalled Jared Cunningham from the D-League.

Hawks on Twitter
He'll add some depth on the wing with DeMarre Carroll (thumb) expected to miss two games. Cunningham played just eight minutes all season with the Hawks and has no fantasy value.
Knicks getting closer to signing Jeremy Tyler 12-29-2013
Jeremy Tyler C SAC
The Knicks are getting closer to signing Jeremy Tyler.

Ian Begley on Twitter
They would either cut Chris Smith or Cole Aldrich to make room for Tyler. He had an impressive offseason and might have made the opening-day roster, but a foot injury forced him to take a detour to the D-League. He's not worth owning in almost any league just yet.
Steve Nash (back) does light shooting 12-29-2013
Steve Nash G LAL
Steve Nash (back) did some light shooting drills on Sunday and is still 2-3 weeks way from being re-evaluated.

Dave McMenamin on Twitter
He still has no timetable to return and his evaluation in 2-3 weeks might not bring the best news either. Nash was off to a terrible start in the first six games before injuries have kept him in street clothes, shooting 26.1 percent from the field for 6.7 points per game, so there's really no reason to stash him. Jordan Farmar should be owned in all standard leagues with his high fantasy ceiling.
Jordan Hill likely moving back to starter 12-29-2013
Jordan Hill F LAL
Jordan Hill will likely replace Shawne Williams in the starting lineup against the Sixers, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.

Dave McMenamin on Twitter
The Lakers are not going to have Pau Gasol tonight and will likely abandon the stretch-four strategy with Williams. If Chris Kaman (ankle) can't play, Hill could start at center, but the Lakers are expected to have Kaman ready to go. Hill should be owned in standard leagues and has a good matchup tonight.
Chris Kaman is still a game-time call 12-29-2013
Chris Kaman C POR
Chris Kaman (ankle) is a game-time decision to face the Sixers on Sunday night.

Mike Trudell on Twitter
He participated in shootaround and coach Mike D'Antoni expects his backup center to available. Kaman would likely start again after posting a 19-point, 10-board game on Friday night. If he can't go, Jordan Hill would would start at center.
Gasol (illness) out Sunday, Kaman game-time 12-29-2013
Pau Gasol F CHI
Pau Gasol will not play on Sunday due to his upper respiratory infection.

Mike Bresnahan on Twitter
Chris Kaman (ankle) will be a game-time decision, so the Lakers may be forced to deploy a make-shift frontcourt with extra playing time for Shawne Williams, Robert Sacre, Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly. Pau remains day-to-day, so with luck he'll be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's home game vs. the Bucks.
Andrew Bynum excused from team activities 12-29-2013
Andrew Bynum C IND
Andrew Bynum's team-imposed suspension has ended but he's been excused from all activities with the Cavaliers, who are expected to waive him before Jan. 7.

Brian Windhorst on Twitter
Bynum was suspended for 'conduct detrimental to the team' and the Cavs are cutting their losses by waiving him before his contract becomes guaranteed for the season. The Clippers and Heat are rumored to have interest in Bynum once he clears waivers.
Spurs send Thomas, De Colo to D-League 12-29-2013
Malcolm Thomas F CLE
Malcolm Thomas and Nando De Colo have been re-assigned to the D-League.

Spurs on Twitter
The Spurs are making liberal use of the new D-League rules, which do not limit their ability to assign and re-call players from their single-affiliate team, the Austin Toros. It allows guys like Thomas and De Colo to get valuable experience they're otherwise missing as bench-warmers for the Spurs.
Bulls have high trade price for Luol Deng 12-29-2013
Luol Deng F MIA
The Bulls may be demanding a "productive young player and a first-round draft pick" in any trade scenario for Luol Deng, according to Aggrey Sam of CSN Chicago.

CSN Chicago
Deng's recent Achilles injury may have cooled off talks but his name will surface again and again as the trade deadline approaches, so this lofty asking price should be kept in mind. As Aggrey goes on to note, "Deng's prospective suitors are more eager about his impending unrestricted free agency, when the could have a chance to woo him away ... signing him free and clear." Chicago may have to lower their expectations or lose Deng for nothing this summer.
Solomon Hill sent to D-League by Pacers 12-29-2013
Solomon Hill F IND
The Pacers have assigned Solomon Hill to the D-League.

Chris Goff on Twitter
The 6'7" small forward is averaging nine minutes in 16 appearances this season. His departure won't have any impact on fantasy rosters.
MRI negative on Rodney Stuckey's shoulder 12-29-2013
Rodney Stuckey G IND
An MRI on Rodney Stuckey's right shoulder came back negative and he's listed as day-to-day.

David Mayo on Twitter
The Pistons host the Wizards on Monday. Stuckey may not be ready to play in that game but at least he doesn't face an extended absence. He leads Detroit's reserves and is fourth on the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game on 45.3 percent shooting.
E'Twaun Moore (thigh) available on Sunday 12-29-2013
E'Twaun Moore G ORL
E'Twaun Moore (thigh) will be available off the Magic bench on Sunday.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
Moore is averaging 6.3 points, 1.7 assists and 0.8 steals in 21 minutes per game this season, while hitting 0.8 three-pointers on 37.9 percent shooting from downtown. Unfortunately, he doesn't deserve fantasy owners' attention while starting PG Jameer Nelson is healthy.
Arron Afflalo (ankle) probable to face Hawks 12-29-2013
Arron Afflalo G DEN
Arron Afflalo (ankle) walked through Orlando's shootaround on Sunday and is on pace to play vs. the Hawks.

Josh Robbins on Twitter
He rolled his ankle during Friday's game but the injury doesn't seem serious enough to limit him. Cautious owners should confirm his availability prior to tip-off, just in case he has a setback.
Carmelo Anthony (ankle) no lock for Thursday 12-29-2013
Carmelo Anthony F NY
Mike Woodson said he's "hoping" that Carmelo Anthony (ankle) will be ready to play when the Knicks travel to San Antonio on Thursday.

New York Post
With four days off before the Knicks play again it would be somewhat surprising if Melo wasn't able to suit up, though at the moment his status is uncertain. "When Melo's ready to play, he'll play," Woodson said. "My track record with Melo, if he's hurt, he's hurt. You got to believe that." Fantasy owners with weekly lineups don't have much to go on, though with luck we'll have an update Monday afternoon.
Jimmy Butler limps after aggravating turf toe 12-29-2013
Jimmy Butler G CHI
Jimmy Butler aggravated his turf toe injury and was limping after Saturday's game, but he expects to play on Monday.

Bulls.com
"Just pushed off it wrong," said Butler, who played 46 minutes in the loss. "Didn't feel too well at all, but I just kept going. So obviously it didn't bother me too much. Not an excuse." This injury cost Butler about three weeks earlier in the season and it's discouraging to see him still limping around, so we're listing him as 'questionable' for Monday's game despite his optimism.
Knicks consider re-signing Jeremy Tyler 12-29-2013
Jeremy Tyler C SAC
The Knicks have "seriously considered" re-signing big man Jeremy Tyler this week.

New York Post
Tyler has been averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds per game in the D-League and New York could use a healthy, active body in their frontcourt. The Knicks' already have 15 players on their roster and they'd likely be forced to cut Chris Smith to clear a spot for Tyler, who wouldn't have fantasy value as long as Tyson Chandler and Andrea Bargnani are healthy.
Andrei Kirilenko (back) may play Tue or Thurs 12-29-2013
Andrei Kirilenko F BKN
Jason Kidd said that Andrei Kirilenko (back) could "potentially" return to action on Tuesday or Thursday.

New York Post
It's good news that Kirilenko is traveling with the team and his return should buoy Brooklyn's playoff chances, but he belongs on fantasy waiver wires. The veteran SF has been out since Nov. 8 and there are no guarantees that he'll stay healthy once he finally steps on the court.
Clippers, Heat may target Andrew Bynum 12-29-2013
Andrew Bynum C IND
The Clippers and Heat are both interested in signing Andrew Bynum after he's waived by the Cavaliers, according to the L.A. Times.

L.A. Times
It's all but certain that the Cavs will jettison Bynum before his contract becomes guaranteed on Jan. 7. While it makes sense for playoff teams to vie for him as extra frontcourt insurance, his ultimate destination shouldn't matter to fantasy owners -- he averaged 8.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks this season, but shot 41.9 percent from the field and contributed nothing in other categories.
Josh Smith benched, offended by Mo Cheeks 12-29-2013
Josh Smith F DET
Josh Smith, who was benched for the second half of Saturday's game, said that he took "real offense" to coach Mo Cheeks' accusation that Smith wasn't playing hard.

M Live
"To me, it's over with," Smith said. "But you know, some people hold grudges longer than others. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not saying that [Cheeks] does. I don't know." When asked whether Smith would start Monday's game, Cheeks replied, "I assume he will. I don't know why he wouldn't. We'll wait until next game gets there." Smoove was also benched back on Nov. 12 but in the very next game he bounced back with a near 5x5 in 44 minutes, and his fantasy owners should simply hang tight.
Joakim Noah plays well despite hip injury 12-29-2013
Joakim Noah C CHI
Joakim Noah played through a hip injury on Saturday and hit 8-of-11 shots for 20 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and a block in a loss to the Mavericks. He was easily the best player for the Bulls tonight, despite being a game-time decision with the hip problem. He should be fine going forward, for now.
Dwyane Wade returns from sore knee 12-29-2013
Dwyane Wade G MIA
Dwyane Wade returned to action on Saturday and had 16 points, three rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a block in a win over the Blazers. We were hoping for more with LeBron James (shin) out, but Chris Bosh stole the thunder with 37 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat have upcoming back-to-backs on Jan. 4 & 5, 9 & 10, 17 & 18, and then don't have another one until March 9 and 10. All three of his January back-to-backs occur within a weekly scoring period, meaning you can probably count on one less game than he's scheduled for in each of the first three weeks of the month.
Robin Lopez ties season high w/ 17 points 12-29-2013
Robin Lopez C POR
Robin Lopez tied his season high with 17 points and added five rebounds and a block on 7-of-10 shooting in Saturday's loss to the Heat. The Heat don't really use a true center which worked in Ro-Lo's favor tonight. Lopez is hot over his last three games, averaging 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and a block after scoring a total of 10 points in his previous two.
Mario Chalmers goes for 9-9-9 in win 12-29-2013
Mario Chalmers G MIA
Mario Chalmers had nine points, nine rebounds, nine assists and a steal in Saturday's win over the Blazers. While Chalmers isn't a fantasy dynamo by any means, he is effective, and is averaging 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.8 3-pointers in his last five games, meaning he should be starting for most of his owners.
Chris Bosh explodes for 37 & 10 in Heat win 12-29-2013
Chris Bosh F MIA
Chris Bosh took advantage of the fact LeBron James was in street clothes with a groin injury and went off for a season-high 37 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and three 3-pointers on 15-of-26 shooting in Saturday's thrilling win over the Blazers. This was Bosh's first 35 & 10 game for the Heat and he clearly benefitted from the absence of James. Even before tonight's explosion, Bosh was playing well and is averaging 22.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks over his last five. And his last 3-pointer tonight was the dagger the Heat needed to hold off the Blazers. Any time LeBron sits out, Bosh looks like a must-start in daily leagues, although he won't get matched up with LaMarcus Aldridge every night.
Michael Beasley scores 12 in start for Bron 12-29-2013
Michael Beasley F MIA
Michael Beasley started in place of LeBron James (groin) on Saturday and had 12 points, six rebounds and a 3-pointer on 5-of-10 shooting. Beasley left the game after tweaking his knee, but was able to return and finish. After watching LeBron's post-game celebration with Chris Bosh, we doubt he misses more games, and if that's the case, Beasley isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Gerald Green cooling off for hot Suns 12-29-2013
Gerald Green G PHO
Gerald Green hit 3-of-9 shots (all 3-pointers) for nine points, six rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes of Saturday's win. Green was really cooking before his last two games, but has scored a total of 16 points in them. Before that he went on a three-game binge of 22, 22 and 19 points, but as long as he's coming off the bench, the inconsistency will make him tough to start in fantasy.
Marcus Morris scores 18 off bench in win 12-29-2013
Marcus Morris F PHO
Marcus Morris came off the bench to hit 7-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 18 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block in 25 minutes on Saturday. Twin brother Markieff had just four points and eight boards on 2-of-7 shooting, while Channing Frye had eight points and 11 boards. If Marcus could be consistent he might be fun to own, but he's scored 18, 7, 19, 8, 14, 5, 11, 7 and 22 points in each of his last nine games. If you can start him every other game, it might work out.
Miles Plumlee scores career-high 22 points 12-29-2013
Miles Plumlee F PHO
Miles Plumlee got hot on Saturday, hitting 10-of-14 shots on his way to a career-high 22 points along with 13 rebounds, a steal and three blocks in 32 minutes. Plumlee is having a big week after going for 17 points and 20 rebounds on Monday, and is averaging 12.2 points, 12.0 boards and 1.0 blocks over his last five games. Don't expect him to play this well all the time, but after his three games this week, he should be owned in all leagues. Plumlee also missed time tonight while getting seven stitches in his chin, or he might have been even better.
Channing Frye scores 8, no 3-pointers 12-29-2013
Channing Frye F ORL
Channing Frye hit 4-of-9 shots and zero 3-pointers on his way to eight points, 11 rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks in Saturday's win over the Sixers. Frye has really cooled off recently, scoring in single digits in four of his last five games, and is averaging just 9.0 points over that stretch. But he's also bringing 7.0 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 1.2 3-pointers during that stretch, leaving him clinging to value. But trying to figure out on which night Frye, the Morris twins and Gerald Green are going to be hot is akin to playing the lottery.
Hollis Thompson struggling in starting five 12-29-2013
Hollis Thompson F PHI
Hollis Thompson made yet another start for the Sixers on Saturday, this time at small forward, but had just four points, six rebounds and four assists on 2-of-8 shooting. After scoring 17 points two Saturdays ago, Thompson has scored just 4, 3, 7 and 7 points in each of his last four games. He's the starting two guard for the Sixers, but still hasn't proven to have much fantasy value.
James Anderson off bench for six points 12-29-2013
James Anderson G PHI
James Anderson came off the bench again on Saturday and had just six points, five rebounds, an assist, a steal and two 3-pointers. We thought he might do a little more with Evan Turner out, but it didn't happen. He's now totaled just 10 points over his last three games and no longer has any fantasy value.
Tony Wroten scores 22 off Sixers bench 12-29-2013
Tony Wroten G PHI
Tony Wroten played 30 minutes off the bench and hit 7-of-17 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 22 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals Saturday. Evan Turner was out with a sore knee, so Wroten saw some extra minutes. Despite coming off the bench, Wroten is still averaging 16.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, making him worth a look in most leagues.
Derrick Favors scores season-low four points 12-29-2013
Derrick Favors F UTH
Derrick Favors scored a season-low four points due to foul trouble during Saturday's 98-90 loss to the Clippers to go with nine boards, one assist and two steals. He's avoided foul trouble throughout the season and his 22 minutes tonight were his above his season-low 21 minutes. Favors made both of his free throws and that area of improvement has really helped buoy his value in standard formats. The 22-year-old big man hasn't turned in a really big line in a while, so he's a bit of an under-the-radar player to target as a buy-low.
Elliot Williams scoreless in start for Turner 12-29-2013
Elliot Williams G PHI
Elliot Williams started at shooting guard on Saturday but missed all five of his shots and failed to score, despite playing 27 minutes. Tony Wroten came off the bench for 22 points, while James Anderson added six points in 23 minutes. Evan Turner sat this one out with a sore knee, but it sounds like he might play on Sunday. Williams has no fantasy value.
Trey Burke gets CP3'd in loss on Sat. 12-29-2013
Trey Burke G UTH
Trey Burke was shut down by Chris Paul in Saturday's loss to the Clippers, shooting 4-of-14 from the field for 12 points, two boards, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes. He did turn the ball over six times tonight, which is suddenly a problem after a seven-turnover Friday. Burke is already going to have some issue in field goal shooting, so he'll really have to keep his turnovers down to help his fantasy value going. He is still getting better at scoring and the rookie's upside will make him a coveted piece in most leagues.
Michael Carter-Williams back in form Saturday 12-29-2013
Michael Carter-Williams G PHI
Michael Carter-Williams was back in prime form on Saturday, hitting 12-of-28 shots and a 3-pointer for 27 points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block in a loss to the Suns. He looked to score more with Evan Turner out with a right knee injury, but is finally getting back to form after missing several games with a knee infection. The Sixers' brutal two-game week is almost over and they play three times next week, meaning MCW is back to must-start status.
Thaddeus Young: Groundhog's Day w/ 30 & 10 1 12-29-2013
Thaddeus Young F PHI
Thaddeus Young did it again on Saturday with 30 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four 3-pointers on 10-of-18 shooting. Young had a line of 30 points, 10 rebounds and four 3-pointers on 11-of-19 shooting exactly one week ago tonight, which was the last time the Sixers played. After a slow start that had owners sweating, Young is on fire, averaging 28.3 points, 8.7 boards, 2.3 assists, 2.3 steals, 0.7 blocks and 3.7 3-pointers over his last three games. It helped that Evan Turner was out tonight, but the fact he posted nearly identical lines in back-to-back games is uncanny. If there was ever a time to sell high on Young, now is that time.

Enes Kanter has a long overdue big game 12-29-2013
Enes Kanter C UTH
Enes Kanter had productive game against the Clippers on Saturday with 17 points, 12 boards, two assists, three steals and one block on 7-of-13 shooting in 31 minutes. His previous 10 games have been underwhelming to say the least, averaging 7.5 points, 4.4 boards, 0.7 steals and 2.9 fouls while shooting 39.8 percent from the floor in 19.0 minutes. He still got a front-row seat of Blake Griffin taking the Jazz to school, so this wasn't a coming-out party or anything. Kanter is worth picking up on upside along as long as you're not cutting someone you're not going to miss.
Chris Paul fills up the stat sheet in win 12-29-2013
Chris Paul G LAC
Chris Paul filled the stat sheet against the Jazz on Saturday during a 98-90 win with 21 points, 10 boards, nine assists, five steals and two turnovers in 37 minutes. The Clippers killed the Jazz for their mistakes with 25 fast-break points. Paul has been the epitome of a stud this month, averaging 20.9 points, 4.1 boards, 10.6 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.2 triples on 47 percent from the field and 83 percent from the line in his previous games this month. He'll keep putting up top-five value as long as he's healthy.
Jerryd Bayless scores 15 in win over Nuggets 12-29-2013
Jerryd Bayless G MIL
Jerryd Bayless played 21 minutes off the bench and hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points and one assist. Bayless has hit double figures in three of his last five games and is averaging 11.4 points, 2.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.4 3-pointers in 22 minutes over that stretch. With Mike Conley struggling (14 points, 4 assists tonight), Bayless is worth keeping an eye on. But he's only worth consideration for a pick up in deeper leagues.
Kosta Koufos playing better for Grizzlies 12-29-2013
Kosta Koufos F MEM
Kosta Koufos had nine points, 12 rebounds, two steals and a block in Saturday's win against Denver. After seemingly falling off a fantasy cliff, his production is back. He's averaging 8.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over his last five games, and might be a decent play until Marc Gasol is back. However, Gasol sounds close to a return from his knee injury, so Koufos' resurgence will likely be short lived.
Blake Griffin scores season-high 40 points 12-29-2013
Blake Griffin F LAC
Blake Griffin was magnificent against the Jazz on Saturday with a season-high 40 points in 38 minutes, adding 10 rebounds, one steal and one block on 13-of-20 from the field and 14-of-17 from the line. This has been one of the best months of his NBA career and his offensive game has really been on display. Griffin has been the ball handler on pick-and-rolls while adding some nice range to his game. Over his last five, he averaged 30.2 points, 12.2 boards, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks on 55.0 percent from the field and 81.6 percent from the line. He's not just a walking highlight-reel guy anymore.
Jon Leuer's run officially over for Memphis 12-29-2013
Jon Leuer F MEM
Jon Leuer played just nine minutes on Saturday and finished with five points and one rebound in a win over the Nuggets. Leuer's run is officially over, as he's scored six or fewer points in three of his last four games after rattling off double-digit scoring in his seven previous games. And with Kosta Koufos playing better and Marc Gasol nearing a return from a knee injury, it's time to send Leuer back to where you found him.
Ed Davis scores 17 points in win 12-29-2013
Ed Davis F LAL
Ed Davis hit 6-of-8 shots for 17 points (and just one rebound) in 23 minutes off the bench on Saturday, but also had a steal and a block. He appears to have passed Jon Leuer on the depth chart, but as long as Zach Randolph is healthy, probably won't have any fantasy value. Just keep an eye on him.
Reggie Bullock is making progress 12-29-2013
Reggie Bullock G LAC
Reggie Bullock (ankle) has been working out and is making progress.

LA Times
Coach Doc Rivers said his rookie is "getting closer" to a return. Bullock still has a few too many holes in his game and can be left on the wire in most formats.
James Johnson plays well again off bench 12-29-2013
James Johnson F TOR
James Johnson came off the bench again on Saturday and had 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer on 5-of-7 shooting in 23 minutes. He's clearly a better fantasy option than starter Tayshaun Prince, and had a similar line on Thursday. He's not a must-own player at this point, but if you're looking for a forward that can help in eight categories, he might be worth a flier.
J.J. Redick (hand) switches to soft cast 12-29-2013
J.J. Redick G LAC
J.J. Redick (hand) switched to a soft cast this weekend and could beat his initial 6-8 week prognosis from back on Dec. 1.

LA Times
"He's close too, would be my guess," coach Doc Rivers said of Redick's timetable. "I think it's a couple of weeks, maybe." Nobody has really stepped up for the Clippers while Redick was out, so he should be able to get his normal role back. Before he suffered ligament damage, his averages included 15.8 points, 0.9 steals and 1.9 triples to give him mid-round value. If you need threes in a head-to-head league, this is probably your cue to start stashing him.
Kenneth Faried plays 13 minutes in loss 12-29-2013
Kenneth Faried F DEN
Kenneth Faried returned from his ankle injury and missed all three of his shots off the bench, finishing with three points and two rebounds in 13 minutes on Saturday. Timofey Mozgov started in his place, but had just four points, two rebounds and a block despite playing 32 minutes. Assuming Faried came out of this one unscathed, he should be back in the starting lineup very soon, sending Tinafey back to the bench.
O.J. Mayo scores 19 off the bench in loss 12-29-2013
O.J. Mayo G MIL
O.J. Mayo played 24 minutes off the bench in Saturday's 117-95 loss to the Wolves, scoring 19 points with two boards, two assists and one 3-pointer on 8-of-12 shooting. He had a nice game against the team that drafted him. His shot selection was normal by his standards, but his shot was falling. Giannis Antetokounmpo is not a flash in the pan, so Mayo will continue to have to get his work off the bench.
Jordan Hamilton scores 12 in another start 12-29-2013
Jordan Hamilton F TOR
Jordan Hamilton started at shooting guard again on Saturday and had 12 points, two rebounds, zero assists and two 3-pointers on 4-of-8 shooting in 26 minutes. That makes back-to-back starts with 12 points and we'll have to see more from him if he's going to have fantasy value. Owners in very deep leagues will want to hang onto him until we see how this plays out, but he's still not a must-own player at this point. Randy Foye had 11 points in just 14 minutes off the bench.
Wilson Chandler cruising along for Nuggets 12-29-2013
Wilson Chandler G DEN
Wilson Chandler hit 6-of-14 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block on Saturday. After a slow start with his hamstring injury, Chandler is cruising now, averaging 17.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers over his last five. He's hitting just 40 percent of his shots over that stretch, but if they start falling, the rest of his numbers are going to look even better.
Khris Middleton still not slowing down 12-29-2013
Khris Middleton F MIL
Khris Middleton kept his breakthrough season going on Saturday with 23 points, nine boards, four assists, one steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers in 41 minutes. He has been great on offense, making 42 percent of his jumpers and his 45 percent from downtown has been a huge part in him getting extra minutes. Middleton is outplaying any other forward on the roster right now, so he looks to be locked in to his role. He should be owned in all leagues until further notice.
Francisco Garcia scoreless again Saturday 12-29-2013
Francisco Garcia G HOU
Francisco Garcia missed all four of his shots and failed to score in Saturday's win. Those of you who started him for five games this week have to be frustrated, and even if he does anything in Sunday's Game 5, he's simply not worth owning as long as James Harden can walk. Garcia can get hot and post a big line at any time, but he is in a real funk, totaling just nine points in his four games this week. Yuck.
Terrence Jones stays hot on Saturday 12-29-2013
Terrence Jones F HOU
Terrence Jones hit 6-of-8 shots for 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, posting his third straight big line for the Rockets. The slump is over and if he was dumped in your league, we're hopeful you were able to pick him up. Jones is averaging 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks over his last three games.
Dwight Howard goes for 24 & 18 in win 12-29-2013
Dwight Howard C HOU
Dwight Howard bounced back from a dreadful game on Thursday by hitting 10-of-12 shots and 4-of-6 free throws on his way to 24 points, 18 rebounds, a steal and a block in Saturday's win over the Pelicans. The Howard that toiled for the Lakers last season is nowhere to be found, as this one, despite Thursday's dud, is averaging 21 points, 15.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his last five games. He's also shooting 60 percent from the line for December, which is an improvement.
Larry Sanders just misses double-double 12-29-2013
Larry Sanders F MIL
Larry Sanders made his first start since injuring his thumb during Saturday's loss to the Wolves with nine points, 10 boards and two steals in 34 minutes. He had no fouls and no blocks in the loss. Sanders should be able to stick in the starting lineup for the Bucks and we'll certainly monitor how coach Larry Drew uses Sanders and John Henson (ankle). The two did not play together at all on Friday and Henson sat out tonight. Sanders should be owned in all leagues.
Jason Smith returns from knee injury 12-29-2013
Jason Smith F NY
Jason Smith came off the bench on Saturday and had 10 points, four rebounds and a block on 5-of-9 shooting in 15 minutes. He could be back in the starting lineup at some point, replacing Ryan Anderson, but it's also possible the Hornets keep Anderson with the first unit and bring Smith off the bench. Either way, with Anderson and Anthony Davis both healthy, Smith's fantasy run looks to be over. Anderson missed three games with a knee injury and returned to action tonight.
Brian Roberts struggles in start at SG 12-29-2013
Brian Roberts G CHA
Brian Roberts started at shooting guard Saturday but had just five points and a 3-pointer in 20 minutes. Eric Gordon was out for the second straight game with a hip injury, giving Roberts the start, but he backfired on owners who used him in daily leagues. If Gordon is ruled out long term Roberts could have some value, but for now, he should probably just be ignored in fantasy leagues.
Alphabet steals four in loss to Wolves 12-29-2013
Giannis Antetokounmpo G MIL
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a career-high four steals agains the Wolves on Saturday to go with six points, five boards, four assists and two blocks in 31 minutes. He has not been disappointing whatsoever in the starting lineup and has quickly picked up steam as a top-four rookie to own in fantasy leagues. Antetokounmpo really shouldn't be on any waiver wires while he's hot like he is right now. He's 19 years old.
Jrue Holiday crashes to earth in loss to HOU 12-29-2013
Jrue Holiday G NO
Jrue Holiday hit just 1-of-9 shots for three points and nine assists in Saturday's loss to the Rockets. Holiday came in hot, but had nothing going against Jeremy Lin and Aaron Brooks tonight. The good news is that he appears to be healthy, so look for him to bounce back on Monday against Damian Lillard and the Blazers. He's scored in single digits just three times this season, and hit 4-of-27 shots in those games. Outside of those hiccups, he's having a pretty solid season, and is averaging fewer than three turnovers in December.
Al-Farouq Aminu still relevant for Pelicans 12-29-2013
Al-Farouq Aminu F DAL
Al-Farouq Aminu had 12 points, one rebound, two assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on 5-of-10 shooting in Saturday's loss. He's still maintaining a little fantasy value, but has been helped by the fact Jason Smith (returned tonight) and Eric Gordon (hip) have been out for the Pelicans, not to mention when Anthony Davis missed seven games with a broken hand. But once the Pelicans are back to full strength, we're guessing he'll be a little too inconsistent to use in most leagues.
Anthony Davis goes for 18 & 16 in loss 12-29-2013
Anthony Davis F NO
Anthony Davis had 18 points, 16 rebounds, a steal and a block in Saturday's loss to Dwight Howard and the Rockets. Davis is rolling again after returning from a broken hand, averaging 20.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks over his last five. The low blocks are a concern, but he's racked up five of them over his last two.
Ersan Ilyasova still playing like garbage 12-29-2013
Ersan Ilyasova F MIL
Ersan Ilyasova continued his putrid season on Saturday, shooting 2-of-10 from the field for four points, three rebounds, one assist, three steals and two turnovers in 21 minutes. In his previous 13 games, Ilyasova shot just 30.2 percent from the field, including 10 percent on his 29 attempts from downtown. Fantasy owners have to be sick of hearing about his great post-break run last season, so he's really not a must-own player. If there's a hot free agent out there, it makes sense to make a swap.
Ryan Anderson stays hot for Pelicans 12-29-2013
Ryan Anderson F NO
Ryan Anderson started at power forward again on Saturday and hit 8-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers for 22 points, 12 rebounds and a steal in a loss to the Rockets. Starting or not, Anderson is still a fantasy beast, averaging 16 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.2 3-pointers over his last five games. He's been starting a lot recently due to injuries to Jason Smith and Anthony Davis, but both players are back in action as of tonight.
Carlos Boozer struggles in loss to Mavs 12-29-2013
Carlos Boozer F LAL
Carlos Boozer hit just 6-of-15 shots for 13 points and four rebounds in 29 minutes. Boozer has been quiet over the past week, scoring 14 or fewer points in three of his last four games. He also hasn't hit double figures in rebounding since December 16, but we see no reason why he shouldn't break out of the funk soon.
D.J. Augustin scores 11 in 31 minutes 12-29-2013
D.J. Augustin G DET
D.J. Augustin played 31 minutes off the bench and hit 5-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals in Saturday's loss. Kirk Hinrich is starting and had five points in 26 minutes tonight, but DJA is probably the better player to own. Just beware that they are going to split point guard minutes until further notice, which isn't good news for either of them.
Taj Gibson scores 13 in loss to Mavericks 12-29-2013
Taj Gibson F CHI
Taj Gibson had 13 points, five rebounds and a block off the bench in 26 minutes on Saturday. Gibson is still clinging to value despite the Bulls getting healthy, but could drop off once Luol Deng is back from his Achilles injury. But until it happens, he's worth holding in most leagues.
Jimmy Butler's toe still bothering him 12-29-2013
Jimmy Butler G CHI
Jimmy Butler hit just 2-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, a steal and seven turnovers in Saturday's loss. Butler's sore toe and ankle still appear to be bothering him as there were multiple reports of him limping badly after the game. Once he's fully healthy we're still expecting big things for him, but he just hasn't been able to get it going since missing 12 recent games due to his bum ankle and toe.
Kevin Martin scores 20 points vs. Bucks 12-29-2013
Kevin Martin G MIN
Kevin Martin scored 20 points with two boards, two assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Bucks. It was a much-needed productive game for Martin, who was stuck in a slump over his previous seven. In that span, he averaged just 14.0 points, 3.0 boards, 2.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.1 triples on 43.7 percent shooting. Martin has been dealing with some injuries, but his stats should certainly be better than that have been this month.
Love Machine: Kevin goes for 33, 15 and six 12-29-2013
Kevin Love F MIN
Kevin Love was his usual terrific self on Saturday vs. the Bucks with 33 points, 15 boards, six assists, one steal and four 3-pointers on 11-of-17 shooting. This was his fifth 30-15 game of his season and was his 10th straight 25-point game. Love is absolutely on a roll and leads the NBA in scoring with 29.5 points per game during the month of December.
Kirk Hinrich quite in blowout loss to Dallas 12-29-2013
Kirk Hinrich G CHI
Kirk Hinrich hit 2-of-4 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, three assists and two steals in 26 minutes of Saturday's ugly loss to the Mavericks. The Mavs outscored the Bulls 31-15 in the second quarter, and while Hinrich started, D.J. Augustin scored 11 and played 31 minutes off the bench. The two point guards are locked into a timeshare, which isn't great news for either one of them.
