Mike Dunleavy quiet in ugly loss to Mavs 12-28-2013
Mike Dunleavy G CHI
Mike Dunleavy hit 3-of-9 shots (zero 3-pointers) for six points, three boards, four assists and a steal in Saturday's ugly loss against the Mavs. Dunleavy had scored in double figures in three straight games and Jimmy Butler was seen limping after the game, as his toe injury is still an issue. Dunleavy is no longer a must-start in fantasy with Butler back in action, and things could get worse once Luol Deng is back from his Achilles problem. Dunleavy is still worth holding in deeper leagues, but owners in 12-team leagues and smaller might be able to do better off the waiver wire.
Brandan Wright comes off bench Saturday 12-28-2013
Brandan Wright F DAL
Brandan Wright scored six points with two rebounds, two steals and a block on 3-of-3 shooting off the bench on Saturday. Samuel Dalembert started and had two points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 24 minutes, as Wright is dealing with a flu bug right now. Starting or not, Wright is still the better fantasy option for now.
Shawn Marion bounces back from off night 12-28-2013
Shawn Marion F CLE
Shawn Marion bounced back from his worst game of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting on Saturday. If he was dropped after his last two duds (4 points in each), he's worth picking up, as he's averaging nine points, seven rebounds and more than a steal per game in December.
DeMar DeRozan scores 20 points in 36 minutes 12-28-2013
DeMar DeRozan G TOR
DeMar DeRozan played 36 minutes in Saturday's 115-100 victory over the Knicks, scoring 20 points with four boards, four assists, three steals and three turnovers on 7-of-18 shooting. Coach Dwane Casey said he's going to manage DeRozan's minutes on Friday, but he played 36 minutes in each of his last two games. There's nothing to worry about and hopefully DD stops shooting so many mid-range jumpers to up his efficiency.
Lou Williams scores season-high 28 points 12-28-2013
Louis Williams G TOR
Lou Williams came off the bench to hit 7-of-12 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 28 points along with five rebounds and a steal in Saturday's overtime win. Lou-Will should step up his scoring with Al Horford possibly lost for the season, but has struggled with inconsistency all season. In just his last five games, he's scored 28, 7, 9, 25 and 2 points, but he could start scoring with more consistency now that the Hawks are missing Horford.
DeMarre Carroll scoreless on Saturday 12-28-2013
DeMarre Carroll F ATL
DeMarre Carroll started on Saturday, despite a thumb injury, but missed all four of his shots, failed to score and added just four rebounds. He's been much better than this all season and his sore thumb is probably to blame for the bad night. As long as he can play, he should bounce back from tonight's dud pretty quickly.
Paul Millsap goes for 33 & 13 in OT win 12-28-2013
Paul Millsap F ATL
Paul Millsap hit 10-of-18 shots and another 3-pointer on his way to a season-high 33 points, 13 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Saturday's overtime win against the Bobcats. The Hawks have played overtime in three straight games and won the last two of those. Millsap's owners should be loving life with Al Horford possibly done for the season and this was Millsap's first game without his teammate. He's killing it over his last three, averaging 26.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.0 steals and 3.3 3-pointers, and there's going to be a lot more where that came from with Horford down and out.
Kyle Lowry burns NYK with 32 points, 11 dimes 12-28-2013
Kyle Lowry G TOR
Kyle Lowry destroyed the Knicks in Saturday's easy win with 32 points, eight boards, 11 assists, one steal and four 3-pointers on 10-of-17 from the field. He shot 8-of-10 from the line and only turned the ball over once for arguably the best game of the year. With a little help of playing the hapless Knicks twice, Lowry is one of the hottest players in the league over his last five with averages of 22.4 points, 5.6 boards, 9.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.6 triples on 44.6 percent from the field and 86.5 percent from the line. His value can't get much higher than this.
Michael Beasley returns from knee injury 12-28-2013
Michael Beasley F MEM
Michael Beasley left Saturday's game in the third quarter after suffering an apparent knee injury. He missed less than a quarter and looks to be fine. Beasley banged knees with Robin Lopez and the training staff just needed some ice to remedy the situation.
Elton Brand quiet in start for Hawks 12-28-2013
Elton Brand F ATL
Elton Brand started for the Hawks on Saturday but hit just 1-of-4 shots for three points and four rebounds in 19 minutes. Mike Scott got hot off the bench and Pero Antic played 22 minutes in the win. Brand could still end up holding some value with Al Horford out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, but after this game, we'd rather be holding Scott instead of Brand. Scott had
Terrence Ross gets hots for 23 points 12-28-2013
Terrence Ross G TOR
Terrence Ross made a career-high seven 3-pointers against the Knicks on Saturday for 23 points with four boards, one assist and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes. He hit the 20-point mark with eight minutes left in the third quarter and he looked like he had his invisible juice with the Knicks not covering him from beyond the arc in the first half. Ross is coasting over his last five thanks to a 3.6 triple-per-game average, adding 15.6 points, 2.6 boards and 0.6 steals. He's worth owning as a 3-point specialist and is now shooting 41.8 percent from downtown. on the season
Ramon Sessions scores 15 in OT loss 12-28-2013
Ramon Sessions G SAC
Ramon Sessions had 16 points, three rebounds, four assists and a 3-pointer on 6-of-10 shooting in 20 minutes off the bench on Saturday. We haven't blurbed him in a while, as he is very consistent, averaging 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 3-pointers over his last five games. And that might work for owners in deeper leagues.
Gerald Henderson scores 22 in OT loss 12-28-2013
Gerald Henderson G CHA
Gerald Henderson hit 11-of-17 shots and zero 3-pointers for 22 points, five rebounds and four assists in Saturday's overtime loss to the Hawks. Henderson has hit just two 3-pointers in December, which is brutal for a shooting guard, but has also scored in double figures in all but three games this season. He's averaging 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 steals in December, which means he is still useful if for not other reason than the scoring.
Kenyon Martin asks to come out of game 12-28-2013
Kenyon Martin F NY
Kenyon Martin asked out of Saturday's 115-100 loss to the Raptors due to injury.

Chris Herring on Twitter
This isn't exactly big news and Martin remains one of the most fragile players in the NBA. He finished with two points, four boards and one steal in 20 minutes. Fantasy owners can keep him on the wire in most leagues.
Kemba Walker hits just 4-of-20 shots 12-28-2013
Kemba Walker G CHA
Kemba Walker hit just 4-of-20 shots and three 3-pointers for 16 points and five assists in Saturday's overtime loss to the Hawks. Walker is a very streaky shooter and will go into the occasional mini-funk. This could be the start of one, but he's having another nice season and is averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, a steal and 1.8 3-pointers over his last five games.
Amare Stoudemire scores 23 points in loss 12-28-2013
Amar'e Stoudemire F NY
Amare Stoudemire scored 23 points against the Raptors Saturday with nine boards, one steal, two blocks and two turnovers on 9-of-12 shooting. This was easily his best game with a season high in points while matching his best in blocks and rebounds. He also was playing on the second night of a back-to-back set after just 16 minutes against these same Raptors on Friday. Stoudemire is still a very tough player to own for his troublesome back and knee issues.
Al Jefferson goes for 24 & 23 in loss 12-28-2013
Al Jefferson C CHA
Al Jefferson hit 10-of-18 shots for 24 points and a season-high 23 rebounds and a steal in Saturday's overtime loss to the Hawks. With Al Horford out, the Hawks struggled to contain the big man who is officially rolling after a dreadful start to the season due to an ankle injury. He's killing it over his last five, averaging 21.8 points, 13.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks on 49 percent shooting.
Anthony Tolliver scores 12 in start 12-28-2013
Anthony Tolliver F PHO
Anthony Tolliver had 12 points, seven rebounds, a steal and four 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting in Saturday's loss. Tolliver has now scored all his points on 3-pointers in four of his last five games, which is odd for a big man. His offense is shaky, at best, but he's averaging 10 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 3-pointers over his last three games. Chris Douglas-Roberts is coming off the bench and had seven points and five rebounds in 23 minutes. As long as Tolliver is starting and hitting 3-pointers, he's a decent deep-league option as long as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is out.
Josh McRoberts struggles, but with 9 dimes 12-28-2013
Josh McRoberts F MIA
Josh McRoberts had just five points, but also had five rebounds, nine assists, a block and a 3-pointer on 2-of-8 shooting on Saturday. He had 13 points, six boards, seven dimes, two blocks and three 3-pointers on Friday, and despite some inconsistency, is still a decent fantasy option. He's scored nine or fewer points in four of his last five games, but is still averaging 6.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 3-pointers over his last five. If you can handle his offensive struggles right now, the rest of his game is useful.
Toure Murry plays 27 minutes off bench 12-28-2013
Toure' Murry G UTH
Toure Murry played 27 minutes off the bench against the Raptors on Sunday with 11 points, three rebounds, six assists, three steals and two turnovers on 5-of-11 shooting.

Chris Herring on Twitter
He played very well and coach Mike Woodson praised Murry after the game. Beno Udrih is also falling out of favor, so it wouldn't be a total shock to see the Knicks make a change. At this stage right now, I'm about playing the guys who are gonna play hard," Woodson said. He's only worth a look in very deep leagues for now since there is no hard evidence on a lineup change just yet.
David West goes for 10-7-6 in easy win 12-28-2013
David West F IND
David West hit 5-of-13 shots for 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a steal in Saturday's win. He's averaging 13.2 points and 3.8 assists over his last five games, but also clocks in with just 4.8 rebounds and 0.2 blocks over that stretch. And that's not going to cut it for a starting fantasy power forward. He'll bounce back at some point, but owners should consider benching him if they have other options.
Lance Stephenson goes for 23-9-7 12-28-2013
Lance Stephenson G CHA
Lance Stephenson had another big night on Saturday with 23 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and a 3-pointer on 7-of-11 shooting. He also hit 8-of-8 free throws and is averaging a ridiculous 18 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.8 3-pointers on 51 percent shooting over his last five games, and is shooting 93 percent from the line (13-of-14) over that stretch. If you were worried about the return of Danny Granger (8 points, 23 minutes) hurting Stephenson, don't be.
George Hill scores 21 with three 3-pointers 12-28-2013
George Hill G IND
George Hill hit 6-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers for 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal in Saturday's win. This was his first 20-point game since Nov. 25 and he hasn't committed a turnover in two straight. His lack of scoring has been a bit annoying, but he finally broke out tonight. Hopefully it's the start of a trend and not a fluke. He came in averaging just 8.7 points in December.
Paul Pierce starts, scores 18 points in loss 12-28-2013
Paul Pierce F WAS
Paul Pierce started on Saturday and had 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer on 8-of-14 shooting. Andray Blatche is going to miss a few more games so Pierce may continue to start over Alan Anderson. Anderson had 10 points, but played just 15 minutes tonight. Pierce went through a mini-slump recently, scoring a total of six points in two games, but has gone for 13 and 18 points in each of his last two.
Mike Scott scores 18 off the bench in win 12-28-2013
Mike Scott F ATL
Mike Scott played 21 minutes off the bench against the Bobcats on Saturday, scoring 18 points with six boards and three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting.
Mirza Teletovic scores 17 points in start 12-28-2013
Mirza Teletovic F BKN
Mirza Teletovic started for the Nets on Saturday and had 17 points, four rebounds, a steal and three 3-pointers on 7-of-13 shooting in a loss to the Pacers. He came off the bench on Friday, but still had 19 points, six boards and five triples, and is averaging 15.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 3.4 3-pointers over his last five. Whether starting or coming off the bench, Teletovic looks like a must-own in all formats.
Beno Udrih takes a backseat to Murry 12-28-2013
Beno Udrih G MEM
Beno Udrih picked up two fouls in the first quarter and lost some playing time to Toure Murry on Saturday, finishing with five points, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes. He and coach Mike Woodson haven't exactly been best buddies this season. Udrih's defense is one of the worst in the NBA and point guards have been absolutely destroying the Knicks while he's been in the lineup. If there's anything remotely interesting on the wire, his owners might want to make a switch.
Iman Shumpert still can't get anything going 12-28-2013
Iman Shumpert G NY
Iman Shumpert (thigh) played 29 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with six points, eight boards, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer. This was one of his better games in a while despite only taking five shots. Shumpert was expected to take a bit of a leap in his third season, but he's really taken a step back, especially on offense. He's not worth owning in most formats.
Martell Webster hits 3-of-11 shots in win 12-28-2013
Martell Webster G WAS
Martell Webster hit just 3-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points in Saturday's win. It looked like he was a must-add 24 hours ago when Bradley Beal was on crutches, but Beal played tonight, along with Trevor Ariza, which hurts Webster. He's scored a total of 23 points on 9-of-26 shooting over his last three games, and can be dropped in many leagues as long as Beal and Ariza are healthy.
Bradley Beal scores 15 despite knee injury 12-28-2013
Bradley Beal G WAS
Bradley Beal started despite his bruised knee and hit 6-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points, two rebounds and four assists in Saturday's win. Not bad for a guy who was on crutches 24 hours ago. Owners obviously dodged a bullet and it looks like he should be a solid four-game start in the upcoming week.
Nene continues to come off bench for Wiz 12-28-2013
Nene Hilario C WAS
Nene came off the bench again on Saturday and had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 19 minutes. The Wizards crushed the Pistons and took the opportunity to get Nene some rest. He loses some appeal as long as he's not starting and with the team managing his minutes, but should probably at least be stashed on benches in case he moves back into the starting unit at some point.
Andrea Bargnani has a stiff neck 12-28-2013
Andrea Bargnani C NY
Andrew Bargnani said on Saturday he's been dealing with a stiff neck for the past 8-10 days.

Al Iannazzone on Twitter
It doesn't sound like it's something that will keep him out of the lineup for the future, but his play might be costing him minutes. Bargnani played just 18 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with 12 points, three boards, one steal and four fouls. This is even worse when taking into account that Carmelo Anthony did not play. His best days are behind him, but he still has some life left with the Knicks lack of depth.
Trevor Booker still starting at PF for Wiz 12-28-2013
Trevor Booker F UTH
Trevor Booker started again on Saturday and had 10 points, nine rebounds and a block in 32 minutes. Nene came off the bench again and had seven points in 19 minutes. He wasn't needed after the break, as the Wizards led 62-41 at halftime in one of their easiest wins of the season. Booker has gone for 10-9-1 in each of his last two games and could have some value as long as he continues to start over Nene.
Brandon Jennings has off night vs. Wall 12-28-2013
Brandon Jennings G DET
Brandon Jennings hit just 4-of-13 shots and committed seven turnovers on his way to 13 points and six assists in Saturday's ugly loss to the Wizards. He's still averaging 17.8 points, 8.4 assists, 1.0 steals and just 2.6 turnovers over his last five games, and the Pistons were just out of synch tonight.
Andre Drummod struggles in ugly loss 12-28-2013
Andre Drummond F DET
Andre Drummond had just four points, seven rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Saturday's ugly loss to the Wizards. This is the second time in four games he didn't hit double digits in either points or rebounds, which has happened a grand total of just six times on the season. Drummond was coming off back-to-back double-doubles, so there is no reason to worry about him.
Ryan Hollins not with team for Saturday 12-28-2013
Ryan Hollins C SAC
Ryan Hollins is not with the team for Saturday's game against the Jazz.

Clippers on Twitter
Hollins is playing 8.7 minutes per game and has no fantasy value.
Josh Smith quiet again on Saturday 12-28-2013
Josh Smith F DET
Josh Smith hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points and four rebounds in 18 minutes on Saturday. He wasn't much better on Friday when he was 2-of-13 for five points. That six-game hot streak he went on is quickly becoming a distant memory, but now is a good time to try to buy low on Smith before he gets hot again. The Pistons were down 62-41 at half time, so he simply never got into a groove with the game out of reach so early.
Michael Beasley starting for LeBron James 12-28-2013
Michael Beasley F MEM
Michael Beasley will start at small forward for the injured LeBron James (groin).

Ethan Skolnick on Twitter
This move was expected and Beasley has been very good off the bench, so he could have a decent game tonight. LeBron could miss Monday's game, which makes Beasley an option as a short-term pickup in deeper leagues.
Ray Allen will play vs. Blazers on Saturday 12-28-2013
Ray Allen G MIA
Ray Allen (knee) will play against the Blazers on Saturday night.

Sam Amick on Twitter
He sat out of Friday's game with some knee soreness and will be back in the lineup. Allen is in remarkable shape at age 38 and still has a lot left in the tank. He might get some extra shots tonight with LeBron James not playing.
LeBron James will not play on Saturday 12-28-2013
LeBron James F CLE
LeBron James (groin, ankle) will not play against the Blazers on Saturday.

Joe Goodman on Twitter
Most of the signs were pointing to James sitting out tonight and the team will play it safe with the reigning MVP. Additionally, he is doubtful for Monday's game against the Nuggets. The Heat will turn to Dwyane Wade to be their superstar while Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Michael Beasley should have more scoring responsibility. This is LeBron's first game out of the lineup all year and the red-hot Blazers catch a break in a huge showdown.
LeBron not going through normal routine 12-28-2013
LeBron James F CLE
LeBron James was seen eating french fries and not going through his normal pre-game routine before Saturday's game.

Joe Goodman on Twitter
The sense is that he will not play tonight. Of course, nothing is official until we get word, but we'll keep updating the information as it becomes available. Yes, this is a report about a player eating french fries.
Jason Smith is playing on Saturday 12-28-2013
Jason Smith F NY
Updating a previous item, Jason Smith (knee) is playing on Saturday night. He was reportedly out according to multiple reports, but the team must have changed its mind. Smith isn't worth owning in most leagues while Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson are healthy.
Ray Allen is a game-time call for Saturday 12-28-2013
Ray Allen G MIA
Ray Allen is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Blazers.

Heat on Twitter
He missed Friday's game with knee soreness and his injury is not considered serious. The team is going to wait and see how he feels before announcing his status. Dwyane Wade is going to play, so Allen won't see big minutes tonight if he does go.
Chris Andersen won't play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Chris Andersen F MIA
Chris Andersen (back) will not play against the Blazers on Saturday.

Joe Goodman on Twitter
This will be his second game in street clothes after suffering a back injury on Christmas. Andersen has some back problems in his past and is not worth owning in most leagues. Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem will get some more playing time.
Dwyane Wade (knee) will play vs. Blazers 12-28-2013
Dwyane Wade G MIA
Dwyane Wade (knee) will play vs. the Blazers on Saturday night.

Joe Goodman on Twitter
This is not a surprise and the Heat had a plan to keep Wade out on Friday to have him for tonight. When he's active, Wade has been tremendous with season averages of 20.0 points, 4.8 boards, 5.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.5 blocks. He should be in all lineups.
Elliot Williams starting for Evan Turner 12-28-2013
Elliot Williams G PHI
Elliot Williams will start for Evan Turner on Saturday night. He's played just 10.8 minutes per game in 13 outings this year, so the Sixers are probably just keeping him in the starting lineup to not mess with their rotations. Turner is only day-to-day, so there really is no move to make for fantasy owners.
LeBron James warming up for Saturday 12-28-2013
LeBron James F CLE
LeBron James (ankle, groin) is warming up for Saturday's game against the Blazers.

Casey Holdahl on Twitter
We'll be updating his status at every chance possible, but it sounds like he wants to play. Coach Erik Spoelstra said he might have to take the decision out of his players' hands, so he might have the last word.
Brian Roberts starting vs. Houston on Sat. 12-28-2013
Brian Roberts G CHA
Brian Roberts is starting at shooting guard for the Pelicans on Saturday.

Rockets on Twitter
He's really just a placeholder for Eric Gordon and doesn't have much fantasy value while Jrue Holiday is healthy. Roberts hasn't really improved as a passer this year and has cooled off after an eye-catching 2012-13 season. Tyreke Evans should have a good game tonight.
Samuel Dalembert starting for Dallas 12-28-2013
Samuel Dalembert C NY
Samuel Dalembert is starting against the Bulls on Saturday.

Earl Sneed on Twitter
This is a surprise and the Mavericks might be willing to give Sammy bigger minutes. Basically, Dalembert and DeJuan Blair are splitting the time to share minutes at center with Brandan Wright, so it's hard to get to excited about Dalembert until he can string some games together.
Evan Turner won't play vs. Suns on Saturday 12-28-2013
Evan Turner G BOS
Evan Turner (right knee) will not play against the Suns on Saturday.

Bob Cooney on Twitter
He did not practice on Saturday morning and the Sixers are going to continue their trend of not playing guys at less than 100 percent. He just has some right knee soreness and the injury is not considered serious. Coach Brett Brown said he expects Turner to play in Sunday's game against the Lakers. The Sixers will likely use a combination of Hollis Thompson, Tony Wroten and James Anderson to fill the void left by Turner's 36.6 minutes per game.
Rodney Stuckey aggravates shoulder injury 12-28-2013
Rodney Stuckey G IND
Rodney Stuckey will not return to Saturday's game due to a sore right shoulder.

Pistons PR on Twitter
He asked out of the game and went to the locker room. This is at least the third time this month Stuckey had a shoulder injury and he's likely going to have an MRI in the coming days. Will Bynum figures to be the next man up for the Pistons and played well on Friday. Stuckey finished with no points, two assists and one steal on six minutes.
John Henson had an MRI on injured ankle 12-28-2013
John Henson F MIL
John Henson had an MRI on his injured ankle before the team ruled him out for Saturday's game.

Andrew Gruman on Twitter
On the bright side, at least the team announced he was out of the lineup before Saturday's game. However, the results of the MRI have not been released, so we'll hopefully get an update from the team at some point in 2013. Henson's injury is believed to be stemming from an incident back on Dec. 20. He should be considered questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Lakers.
Luol Deng won't play on Saturday night 12-28-2013
Luol Deng F MIA
Luol Deng (Achilles) will not play against the Mavericks on Saturday.

Bulls on Twitter
This is his fourth inactive game and he should be considered questionable for Monday's game against the Grizzlies. Mike Dunleavy, Jimmy Butler and Tony Snell should get most of the minutes on the wing. Deng might be dealing with his bum Achilles for a while, so he shouldn't really be considered as a buy-low target.
Darrell Arthur (quad) won't play vs. Memphis 12-28-2013
Darrell Arthur F DEN
Darrell Arthur (quad) will not play against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Jason Kosmicki on Twitter
He really wanted to give it a go tonight against his old team, but it's not going to happen. Arthur admitted his quad is extremely stiff, so this shouldn't be a surprise. He has no fantasy value in most leagues now that Kenneth Faried is back.
Brook Lopez will have surgery on Jan. 4 12-28-2013
Brook Lopez C BKN
Brook Lopez will have surgery on his fifth metacarpal on his right foot on January 4th.

Nets on Twitter
He is expected to be out for the season and this will put an end to whatever title aspirations the Nets had this season. Lopez is their best player and they'll have to count on guys like Kevin Garnett, Andray Blatche (personal) and Mirza Teletovic to step up.
DeMarre Carroll (thumb) starting vs. Bobcats 12-28-2013
DeMarre Carroll F ATL
DeMarre Carroll (thumb) will start against the Bobcats on Saturday.

Chris Vivlamore on Twitter
It sounds like he should be able to resume his regular role for the Hawks. It should also be interesting to see how they fill the void left by Al Horford, so we'll be watching their lineups tonight. Carroll is putting up later-round value in standard leagues.
John Henson will not play on Saturday 12-28-2013
John Henson F MIL
John Henson (ankle) will not play against the Wolves on Saturday.

Bucks PR on Twitter
This injury comes out of nowhere after Henson played 20 minutes against the Nets on Friday. Henson should be considered questionable for Tuesday's game against the Wolves. Larry Sanders will start while Miroslav Raduljica will likely get more playing time.
Kenneth Faried (ankle) will play vs. Memphis 12-28-2013
Kenneth Faried F DEN
Kenneth Faried (ankle) will play against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
He will be back in the lineup after missing two games. Faried has really fallen off this season, averaging just 7.5 points, 6.3 boards and 1.1 blocks in 20.0 minutes per game in his last eight. He has some upside for his high motor and rebounding ability, but he's not really worth starting in most formats.
Rodney Stuckey is expected to play 12-28-2013
Rodney Stuckey G IND
Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) is expected to play against the Wizards on Saturday.

Mark Champion on Twitter
There hasn't been much info on Stuckey after he did not play in the second half of Friday's game. He should be considered a little closer to probable, but fantasy owners might want to bench him for now. Will Bynum isn't worth spot starting.
Jason Smith won't play vs. Houston on Sat. 12-28-2013
Jason Smith F NY
Jason Smith (knee) will not play against the Rockets on Saturday.

Jonathan Feigen on Twitter
This will be his fourth game of missing action. The Pelicans really don't need Smith now that Anthony Davis is back, so he can be left on the wire in most formats.
Eric Gordon, Jason Smith out vs. Rockets 12-28-2013
Eric Gordon G NO
Eric Gordon (hip) and Jason Smith (knee) will not play against the Rockets on Saturday.

Jonathan Feigen on Twitter
This will be Gordon's second game out of the lineup after suffering a hip injury at Sacramento on Monday. Interestingly, the Pelicans said he could have returned to the lineup on Monday, but this isn't the first time Gordon has taken been out of the lineup longer than expected. Tyreke Evans has been on a roll and should be in all lineups tonight.
Greg Smith still out with knee problem 12-28-2013
Greg Smith C DAL
Greg Smith (knee) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.

Jenny Dial Creech on Twitter
He's been dealing with knee and quad issues over the past week and has no timetable to return. Smith was the backup center for the Rockets, so this will put more on Terrence Jones' plate tonight. Jones is worth owning in all leagues.
Luol Deng (Achilles) attempting to warm up 12-28-2013
Luol Deng F MIA
Luol Deng (Achilles) will warmup and see how he feels before Saturday's game against the Mavericks.

Bulls on Twitter
He said earlier today that he wasn't going to play, so we'd still consider Deng a little closer to doubtful for now. The 28-year-old forward has missed his last three games and a total of seven games this month due to his Achilles problem. If he can't go, Mike Dunleavy and Tony Snell would pick up the slack.
Bradley Beal (knee) will start vs. Pistons 12-28-2013
Bradley Beal G WAS
Bradley Beal (knee) will start against the Pistons on Saturday.

Michael Lee on Twitter
Anthony Bennett has a good game on Sat. 12-28-2013
Anthony Bennett F MIN
Anthony Bennett matched his career high with five boards, two assists and one block against the Celtics on Saturday, adding five points and one steal in 19 minutes. This would be a horrible game for most players, but it was Bennett's most well-rounded game of his career. Coach Mike Brown called a timeout to talk to the rookie and he still has quite a project on his hands. Andrew Bynum no longer in the picture doesn't have a big impact on Bennett's value just yet.
Tristan Thompson gets shut down vs. Celtics 12-28-2013
Tristan Thompson F CLE
Tristan Thompson had seven points and seven boards in 26 minutes against the Celtics. He plays power forward and rarely played center, so the departure of Andrew Bynum doesn't have a huge impact on Thompson's overall value. He is struggling from the field and his free throw shooting has dropped off, so he's more of a bench guy in standard leagues until he can get it going again.
Kyrie Irving scores 32 points vs. Boston 12-28-2013
Kyrie Irving G CLE
Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 32 points against the Celtics with two rebounds, three assists and four 3-pointers. He only turned the ball over twice and shot 13-of-22 from the field in the loss. Irving really doesn't have much help, but he's rolling offensively with 24.6 points, 6.6 boards, 1.3 steals and 2.0 triples in his previous 10 games. His shot selection has vastly improved from earlier in the year and it looks like anyone that bought low a few weeks ago pulled off a great deal.
DeMarre Carroll is a game-time decision 12-28-2013
DeMarre Carroll F ATL
DeMarre Carroll (thumb) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Bobcats.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
He has no ligament damage to his right thumb, but the injury to his shooting hand could limit him enough to keep him from playing. If he doesn't play, the team will insert Lou Williams at shooting guard and slide Kyle Korver to small forward. Shelvin Mack would also pick up a nice chunk of minutes.
LeBron James hobbling after flight to POR 12-28-2013
LeBron James F CLE
LeBron James (ankle, groin) was hobbling after leaving the team plane in Portland on Saturday.

Ethan Skolnick on Twitter
He is likely looking at a game-time call for Saturday night and we really won't be getting much info for the next couple hours. Considering how the Heat have exercised extreme caution with Dwyane Wade, there's a good chance James sits out. If he doesn't go, Michael Beasley, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will likely have most of the scoring burden on their shoulders. Ray Allen could also get significant minutes.
Iman Shumpert will start vs. Raptors Sat. 12-28-2013
Iman Shumpert G NY
Iman Shumpert will start against the Raptors on Saturday.

Al Iannazzone on Twitter
He had a thigh issue and played just 12 minutes. Outside of being able to cover point guards, Shumpert has been a disappointment in most facets of the game. He's shooting just 30.9 percent in December with 5.0 points per game.
Raymond Felton won't play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Raymond Felton G DAL
Raymond Felton will not play against the Raptors on Saturday.

Al Iannazzone on Twitter
This will be his second game on the sidelines from his groin injury on Monday. The Knicks will have to look to Beno Udrih for offense, making him a decent spot-start option. Felton should be considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Spurs.
Metta World Peace won't play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Ron Artest F NY
Metta World Peace (knee) will not play against the Raptors on Saturday.

Al Iannazzone on Twitter
It was a surprise to see him on the court for Friday's game against the Raptors, but only played five minutes in the loss. World Peace is going to have a blood-spinning procedure next month and he's unlikely to suit up for any games before that date with the doctor on Jan. 6.
Mirza Teletovic back in the starting lineup 12-28-2013
Mirza Teletovic F BKN
Mirza Teletovic will start next to Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett against the Pacers.

Rod Boone on Twitter
The Nets want some extra size against the Pacers and it makes sense to give themselves another shooter. Shaun Livingston moves back to the bench and really has no fantasy value in most leagues because of his lack of range as a shooter. Teletovic is coming off a career-high 19 points and should be owned in all standard formats.
Bradley Beal (knee) going through warmups 12-28-2013
Bradley Beal G WAS
Bradley Beal (knee) is going through warmups for Saturday's game against the Pistons.

Vincent Goodwill on Twitter
He is a game-time call for tonight, but it sounds like he's going to play. His fantasy owners have to be very excited about seeing Beal even warming up and we'll have an update once the news becomes official.
Tyler Zeller plays 22 minutes as backup 12-28-2013
Tyler Zeller F BOS
Tyler Zeller played 22 minutes as the backup center on Saturday, scoring five points with 10 boards, three assists and one block. He basically stepped into Anderson Varejao's role now that Andrew Bynum is out of the picture. Zeller checked with four minutes left in the first quarter and looks to be the main big with the second unit. He's not much of a shooter with a career 44.7 field goal percentage, but he could be a 7-7-1 type player in deeper formats. Plus, he would start should something happen to the oft-injured Varejao.
Jared Sullinger scores eight in off day 12-28-2013
Jared Sullinger F BOS
Jared Sullinger shot 4-of-14 from the field for eight points with three boards, two assists and one block in 31 minutes during Saturday's 103-100 victory over the Cavs. The Celtics let their perimeter offense carry them today with only 28 points in the paint. Sullinger has been consistent for over a month, but he's turned in back-to-back duds with his six-point game on Sunday. His fantasy owners shouldn't panic and this could be a buy-low opportunity after just a one-game week in weekly formats.
Jordan Crawford scores 19 in win 12-28-2013
Jordan Crawford G GS
Jordan Crawford was outstanding in Saturday's win over the Cavs with 19 points, five boards, five assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.

MySynergySports.com
He's morphed into a prototypical-style point guard this season and might be in the mix for Most Improved Player. Crawford has been able to score on his own while also shooting a somewhat impressive 46 percent in pick-and-roll plays. Rajon Rondo (knee) will return at some point, but Crawford's owners shouldn't be looking to sell high unless they're focusing more on April.
Brandon Bass plays well in 34 minutes 12-28-2013
Brandon Bass F BOS
Brandon Bass played 34 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday, scoring 15 points with six boards, four assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer. His name popped up in trade rumors for Omer Asik before the holiday, but Bass continues to play well despite the off-court concerns. In his previous 10 games this month, Bass averaged 11.4 points, 8.0 boards, 1.4 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals in 30.7 minutes. He's worth owning in standard leagues until further notice.
Avery Bradley scores 18 points in win 12-28-2013
Avery Bradley G BOS
Avery Bradley grabbed eight rebounds against the Cavs on Saturday with 18 points, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer on 8-of-16 shooting. With only one game left in December, Bradley might have turned in the best month of his career. In his last 11 games, he's averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.2 blocks and 1.9 triples on 51 percent shooting. Despite the great numbers, it only translated to just sixth-round value in what was almost a perfect storm for his production.
Jeff Green takes a little jab at Andrew Bynum 12-28-2013
Jeff Green F BOS
Jeff Green scored 19 points with eight boards, one assist, one block, two steals and two 3-pointers on 5-of-12 shooting against the Cavs on Saturday.

Mark Murphy on Twitter
He scored 15 in the first half and cooled off down the stretch with just four points in the second half. Green had weighed in on Andrew Bynum not playing with a funny quote after the win. "He would have been a good guy to dunk on," Green said. Comments aside, Green's shooting numbers haven't been great over his last five shooting just 37.9 percent from the field while averaging 12.8 points, 5.6 boards, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.2 triples. He's still doing enough in other areas to offset the shooting deficiencies.
Gerald Wallace's nose keep him out of action 12-28-2013
Gerald Wallace F BOS
Gerald Wallace did not play in the second half of Saturday's game due to a nose injury.

Mark Murphy on Twitter
The training staff had the final say to keep Wallace on the bench after playing just nine minutes. Crash finished with two points, two boards and two assists in the win. He has barely any fantasy value and should be considered probable for Tuesday's game vs. the Hawks.
Pau Gasol, Chris Kaman are game-time calls 12-28-2013
Pau Gasol F CHI
Pau Gasol (illness) and Chris Kaman (ankle) are game-time decisions to face the Sixers in Sunday night's home game.

Mike Bresnahan on Twitter
He missed Friday's game with an upper respiratory illness and also missed a game last Saturday for the same reason. Gasol has been hindered by this illness for much of the season, which makes it tough to forecast his value for the season. There should be an update on his status at Sunday's shootaround. If he can't go, Chris Kaman and Jordan Hill would take on the bulk of the minutes in the paint.
Chris Kaman is a game-time call vs. Philly 12-28-2013
Chris Kaman C POR
Chris Kaman (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday night's game against the Sixers.

Mike Bresnahan on Twitter
He played through an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Friday's game and was limping quite a bit. Kaman turned in a nice line in that start vs. the Jazz, scoring 19 points with 10 boards and three blocks in 30 minutes, so he might be worth a spot-start vs. Philly's weak defense. Of course, that has a lot to do with Pau Gasol's status.
Andrei Kirilenko won't play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Andrei Kirilenko F BKN
Andrei Kirilenko (back) will not play against the Pacers on Saturday.

Stefan Bondy on Twitter
He's been out of the lineup since Nov. 8 with his back spasms and doesn't have a timetable to return. Kirilenko said his back pain has been the worst he's ever dealt with, so this probably won't go away even once he's able to make it back to the lineup. Fantasy owners can leave him on the wire despite some of his upside in defensive stats.
Kenneth Faried said he could have played Fri. 12-28-2013
Kenneth Faried F DEN
Kenneth Faried (ankle) said he could have played against the Pelicans if it was necessary.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
He didn't go through shootaround on Friday morning and he is still up in the air for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies. Faried has really fallen off from a production standpoint, so fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him tonight.
Darrell Arthur pushing to play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Darrell Arthur F DEN
Darrell Arthur (quad) is pushing to play against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Chris Dempsey on Twitter
He said his muscle was extremely stiff on Friday, but he looks to be a little more motivated to go up against his former team. Kenneth Faried could be back tonight, so there shouldn't be too much opportunity for Arthur. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Bradley Beal only has a bruised knee 12-28-2013
Bradley Beal G WAS
Bradley Beal was diagnosed with a bruised left knee and could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday.

Jeff Goodman on Twitter
This is good news for the Wizards and they seem to have dodged a bullet. Beal had to exit the arena on Friday with the use of crutches after being carried off the court. We'll look to some official word on his status for tonight's game against the Pistons. Martell Webster should still be owned in all standard leagues until further notice.
Report: Andrew Bynum will be released 12-28-2013
Andrew Bynum C IND
Andrew Bynum will be released by the Cavs before his contract is guaranteed, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports.

Sam Amico on Twitter
The deadline is Jan. 7 for the team to save some money and the report certainly makes sense. Bynum has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, so he's likely done playing in Cleveland. It's hard to imagine any team making a major commitment to him at this point, making it tough for fantasy owners to stash him. He is incapable of playing big minutes and it should be interesting to see if any teams take a chance on him.
Evan Turner misses practice, expects to play 12-28-2013
Evan Turner G BOS
Evan Turner (right knee) did not practice but coach Brett Brown expects him to play Saturday.

Bob Cooney on Twitter
Philadelphia hasn't played since December 22, giving Turner plenty of time to rest his ailing knee. He will look to get back on track against Phoenix: in his last four outings Turner has averaged just 12.8 points on 34.5 percent shooting from the field.
Brandan Wright will play Saturday 12-28-2013
Brandan Wright F DAL
According to coach Rick Carlisle, Brandan Wright (illness) went through the morning shootaround and will play Saturday against the Bulls.

Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
Wright missed Thursday's game and Friday's practice but appears to have recovered. Hopefully the missed time doesn't derail what was a nice start to the season for Wright. Since making his season debut two weeks ago, Wright has posted a player efficiency rating of 28.9 in an admittedly minuscule sample size of five games.
Dwight Howard says back is fine 12-28-2013
Dwight Howard C HOU
Dwight Howard told reporters his back is healthy and not an issue.

Jonathan Feigen on Twitter
Howard insisted he sat out the fourth quarter on Thursday because of foul trouble and not his back. "That's what happens when you get in foul trouble," he said. He looked like his normal self at Saturday's shootaround but all eyes will be on Howard and his back against the Pelicans.
Luol Deng says will likely sit on Saturday 12-28-2013
Luol Deng F MIA
Luol Deng (Achilles) said he will likely be out for Saturday's game against the Mavericks.

K.C. Johnson on Twitter
The hope was that Deng would play Saturday, but it sounds as though Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy will have to continue picking up the slack. This would mark the fourth game Deng has missed due to the sore Achilles. After Saturday, the Bulls next game is on Monday in Memphis.
Joakim Noah will play on Saturday 12-28-2013
Joakim Noah C CHI
Joakim Noah (hip) will play Saturday against the Mavericks.

Nick Friedell on Twitter
He banged up the hip on Christmas against the Nets and came into Saturday listed as a game-time decision, but was cleared to play following the morning shootaround.
Elton Brand to start for Hawks 12-28-2013
Elton Brand F ATL
Elton Brand will start at center for the Hawks.

Chris Vivlamore on Twitter
Brand gets the starting nod over Mike Scott, Pero Antic, Gustavo Ayon in place of the injured Al Horford, although there is no telling how long it will last. Brand was averaging just 12.9 minutes per game in December. He is worth picking up as a flyer in deep leagues, in shallower leagues we recommend waiting and seeing how he plays. Ayon will likely still see an increase in minutes as well.
Arron Afflalo rolls ankle 12-28-2013
Arron Afflalo G DEN
Arron Afflalo rolled his left ankle in Friday night's rout of the Detroit Pistons.

Associated Press
Afflalo will likely miss the team's practice on Saturday to get treatment for the ankle. The injury is not severe and he should be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Hawks. "The ankle, it's one of those things where if you can fight through it, you go ahead and play," he said. Still, check back before the game to make certain.
Nate Robinson fails to score on Friday 12-28-2013
Nate Robinson G DEN
Nate Robinson had zero points, one assist, one steal and three turnovers in Friday's loss to the Pelicans. It was an ugly 16 minutes of play for Robinson and the second time this season he has failed to score a point, the last being in Utah on November 11. If he's still on your team, there are likely better options on the free agent waiver.
Andrew Bynum suspended by Cavaliers 12-28-2013
Andrew Bynum C IND
Andrew Bynum has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

NBA.com
The announcement was made by GM Chris Grant. Bynum did not travel with the team to Boston and will not play on Saturday. Currently there is no information on the length of the suspension, or the factors that caused the disciplinary action. Take him out of your lineups for now and check back for more information as it becomes available. Bynum is averaging just 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, and sinking a dreadful 41.9 percent of his shots from the field. It his the lowest field goal percentage since his rookie season.
Metta World Peace: "in another galaxy" 12-28-2013
Ron Artest F NY
On the rumored meeting Knicks owner James Dolan held with the team before Thursday's game, Metta World Peace offered no comment because he is "an alien."

Associated Press
"I was in another galaxy yesterday with my galactic friends," he said. If he doesn't travel with the team to Toronto on Saturday, Metta might still be going elsewhere. He may want to consider a name change: Galactic Peace.
Alonzo Gee has first DNP of season Thursday 12-28-2013
Alonzo Gee G DEN
Cavaliers coach Mike Brown opted not to play Alonzo Gee during Thursday's double-overtime loss to the Hawks, giving Gee his first DNP of the season. Earl Clark started at SF and neither Gee nor Sergey Karasev stepped foot on the court. In 18 starts this season, Gee was averaging just 4.0 points in 20 minutes per game, so his disappearance isn't a total surprise. Clark also belongs on the waiver wire even though he's been slightly better, averaging 5.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks in 10 starts this season.
Jason Terry scores 12 in loss to Bucks 12-28-2013
Jason Terry G HOU
Jason Terry scored all 12 points of his points from behind the arc, going 4-of-5 on 3-pointers in Friday's loss to the Bucks. It was the first time that Terry, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett all scored in double figures in a game for the Nets, a feat they accomplished 33 times last season for the Celtics.
Curry notches 14-13-16 triple-double in win 12-28-2013
Stephen Curry G GS
Stephen Curry scored 14 points with career-highs in rebounding (13) and assists (16) in the Warriors' 115-86 win over the Suns on Friday. Curry hit just 5-of-17 shots and had seven turnovers, but who cares on a night like this in a blowout win. Klay Thompson hit 9-of-11 shots (including two threes) for 21 points, Andrew Bogut went for eight and six with three blocks, and David Lee posted a 17-7-5 line. Hobbled Andre Iguodala (eight points, three boards) probably shouldn't have played the 25 minutes he got in such an easy win, and Harrison Barnes (11 points, three assists) continues to be invisible when the Warriors are near full strength.
Dragic only starter to log 30 or more minutes 12-28-2013
Goran Dragic G PHO
Goran Dragic was the only Suns starter to log more than 30 minutes in their blowout loss to the Warriors on Friday, and he finished with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting, three assists and two steals. Eric Bledsoe (seven points, zero assists) and Miles Plumlee (nine points, seven boards) both only played 19 minutes, P.J. Tucker did fine with 11 points, 12 boards and four steals, and Channing Frye scored nine points with one three and not much else in a throwaway game.
Green leads bench unit in minutes in blowout 12-28-2013
Gerald Green G PHO
Gerald Green led the Suns' bench with 27 minutes in Friday's blowout loss to the Warriors, scoring seven points on 3-of-9 shooting with two rebounds, two assists and a steal. Green has been hot lately but we're looking at this as more of a throwaway game than one to make big measurements with. Markieff Morris scored nine points on 4-of-13 shooting with six rebounds, one three, one steal and two blocks in 22 minutes, and Marcus Morris had seven points on 2-of-8 shooting with one three and one steal in 18 minutes in the loss.
Derrick Favors wins game on putback dunk 12-28-2013
Derrick Favors F UTH
Derrick Favors had a putback dunk with 2.1 seconds left to give the Jazz a 105-103 victory over the Lakers on Friday, finishing with 18 points, 14 boards, one assist and one steal in 33 minutes. He's been a little under the radar with December averages of just 14.0 points, 8.2 boards, 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals on a team that won't be getting much national attention. However, Favors has been fantastic with shooting percentages of 55.5 from the field and and 81.5 from the charity stripe, so he's really rounding into form as an all-purpose big man for fantasy owners. He's put up third round value this month and has room to grow.
Gordon Hayward scores 24 vs. Lakers 12-28-2013
Gordon Hayward G UTH
Gordon Hayward shot 9-of-17 from the field for 24 points against the Lakers on Friday with five boards, nine assists, three steals and two 3-pointers. This was just his second game in which he's shot over 47 percent in his last 12. Hayward has been in a prolonged slumped over his previous 19 games, shooting just 40.5 percent from the field and hasn't really been effective more of the season. Even with the shooting issues, he's still putting up fourth-round value in standard leagues.
The Pizza Guy delivers a near triple-double 12-28-2013
Isaiah Thomas G PHO
Certified Pizza Guy Isaiah Thomas delivered a near triple-double in the Kings' 108-103 win over the Heat on Friday, scoring 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting with seven rebounds, 11 assists and one steal in 41 minutes. Thomas is now a top 20-30 value on the season, including the time Sacramento wasted developing Greivis Vasquez, and he's going to put up big numbers for the rest of the season.
Cousins posts 27-17-5 line in win over Heat 12-28-2013
DeMarcus Cousins C SAC
DeMarcus Cousins scored 27 points on 10-of-21 shooting with 17 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the Kings' surprise win over the Heat on Friday. Cousins had some glaring problems with effort and defense, as well as some major attitude problems to boot, but this win will go down as a potential teachable moment for the big man as he was able to keep his cool when the Heat went after him with a hard LeBron James foul and a Mario Chalmers cheap shot late. James said after the game that Boogie should be an All Star, but he's going to have to play better defense and collect more wins for that to happen.
Trey Burke's ankle looks fine in win over LAL 12-28-2013
Trey Burke G UTH
Trey Burke returned from a minor ankle tweak against the Lakers on Friday, scoring He didn't look to be bothered by the injury outside of not being too aggressive with his shot selection. Burke did not take any shots within eight feet tonight, but he's been terrific in the mid-range game lately -- shooting 54 percent on those attempts over his last four. After tonight's game, Burke boasts averages of 16.8 points, 3.0 boards, 5.4 assists and 2.4 triples on 47.0 percent from the field and 100 percent from the line. He's in the mix for Rookie of the Year.

Richard Jefferson F DAL
Richard Jefferson returned to action on Friday December 27.
Gay scores 26 points and gets in LeBron's way 12-28-2013
Rudy Gay F SAC
Rudy Gay scored 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting (including a three)w ith three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in Friday's win over the Heat. Gay has more defensive lapses than he should but he did a decent job of not being a train wreck against LeBron James, and he continues to keep his efficiency in check on most nights so far with the Kings. His 4.1 turnovers per game over the past seven games is a concern in 9-cat formats, but that number will regress and his top-50 value in 8-cat formats in that span is encouraging early in the transition.
McLemore plays less in big game vs. Heat 12-28-2013
Ben McLemore G SAC
Ben McLemore played just 24 minutes in Friday's win over the Heat, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with five rebounds and one assist. McLemore had three turnovers and in a big game Mike Malone opted for Marcus Thornton (29 minutes, seven points, five boards) over the rookie. Things are going to be pretty tough for McLemore as a fourth or fifth option on offense as the roster is currently situated, but the Kings plan to give him plenty of playing time and he still profiles as a stash for the second half of the year. Whether or not owners want to make that investment now is a fair question.
Jodie Meeks plays 41 minutes vs. Jazz 12-28-2013
Jodie Meeks G DET
Jodie Meeks played a team-high 41 minutes against the Jazz on Friday, scoring 13 points with four boards, one assist, three steals and three 3-pointers. He's getting some serious run as the start with 38.8 minutes per game over his last five, adding averages of 15.6 points, 4.0 boards, 3.2 assists, 2.4 steals and 2.2 triples. Meeks should be owned in all standard leagues with that allotment of minutes and his ability to hit treys.
Chalmers double-doubles in loss to Kings 12-28-2013
Mario Chalmers G MIA
Mario Chalmers double-doubled in Friday's loss to the Kings, scoring 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in 44 minutes. Chalmers didn't have a game for the scrap book but he has gotten his stride back in fantasy leagues and should be in most lineups.
Ryan Kelly plays just 13 minutes vs. Jazz 12-28-2013
Ryan Kelly F LAL
Ryan Kelly (ankle) played 13 minutes against the Jazz on Friday with two points. He played a shocking 17 minutes on Wednesday and it wouldn't have been a surprise to see Mike D'Antoni use the rookie again tonight with Pau Gasol out. Kelly can be left on the wire on most leagues.
Aminu still treading water with Gordon out 12-28-2013
Al-Farouq Aminu F DAL
Al-Farouq Aminu continued to tread water for fantasy owners with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal over 31 minutes in the Pelicans' 105-89 win over the Nuggets on Friday. Eric Gordon (hip) was out and that's why Aminu got a full load of minutes, and owners can either ride this ride until the wheels fall off or move on a hot free agent knowing that Gordon's return will likely spell the end for Aminu. It's worth pointing out, however, that Aminu is probably just one injury away from being relevant like this at any juncture.
Tyreke Evans rolling with 19-7-10 night 12-28-2013
Tyreke Evans G NO
Tyreke Evans scored 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench on Friday. Many owners bought into Evans with the idea that Eric Gordon (hip) would eventually go away and he could return to his ball-dominant ways, and this would serve as a preview of that circumstance with Gordon out tonight. His slow start is quickly becoming a faded memory as he has been a top-20 play over the past two weeks.
LeBron James (groin, ankle) banged up vs. SAC 12-28-2013
LeBron James F CLE
LeBron James suffered a strained right groin and tweaked his left ankle during Friday's loss to the Kings.

Heat on Twitter
"It doesn't feel good right now," James said after Friday's game. "We'll see how it feels tomorrow." The Heat are playing a back-to-back and will travel to Portland for a huge matchup against the Blazers. James was limping badly in the locker room and there seems to be a legitimate chance he could miss Saturday's marquee matchup. He scored 33 points with eight boards, eight dimes and four 3-pointers on 12-of-23 shooting in 44 minutes on Friday.
Hamilton scores 12 points with seven rebounds 12-28-2013
Jordan Hamilton F TOR
Jordan Hamilton started for Randy Foye in Friday's loss to the Pelicans, scoring 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with seven rebounds and one block in 32 minutes. Foye logged just seven minutes but Brian Shaw didn't exactly sound sold on the move before the game, and considering the Nuggets lost handily it's unclear if this is a game-changing moment for Hamilton, a brief foray into the starting lineup, or something in-between. He has been a 14-team value in just 19 mpg on the season, including an ugly 40 percent mark from the field, so needless to say he'll have some upside if he can take the starting job and run. Give him a hard look right now in standard formats.
Mozgov nears double-double with Faried out 12-28-2013
Timofey Mozgov C DEN
Timofey Mozgov scored eight points on 4-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds, one steal and one block in 28 minutes with Kenneth Faried (ankle) out on Friday. Mozgov is going to put up usable numbers anytime he gets the minutes, but chances are he'll return to the bench whenever Faried returns and he'll have a tough time holding standard league value at that point.
Hickson double-doubles with 16 and 10 12-28-2013
J.J. Hickson F DEN
J.J. Hickson double-doubled with 16 points, 10 rebounds and one steal in Friday's loss. Hickson hit 7-of-9 shots and with Kenneth Faried out he should be able to sustain the scoring and rebounding numbers necessary to float his fantasy value, which is otherwise dragged down by defensive stat deficiencies.
Randolph leads bench in minutes on Friday 12-28-2013
Anthony Randolph F ORL
Anthony Randolph scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with four rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 20 minutes off the bench on Friday. Randolph led the bench in minutes played but one has to think that any progress he makes will be short-lived once Kenneth Faried returns. Still, he's worth watching with one eye after a line like this.
Jordan Farmar plays well in second start 12-28-2013
Jordan Farmar G LAC
Jordan Farmar turned it around on Friday night against the Jazz, scoring 16 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes. This is what owners were expecting and not the three-point dud on Christmas. The Jazz are dead last in defensive efficiency, but at least Farmar was still able to turn in a big game. He's worth owning in all standard formats with no competition behind him.
Jordan Hill scores 16 points off bench 12-28-2013
Jordan Hill F LAL
Jordan Hill scored 16 points off the bench against the Jazz on Friday, while adding nine boards and two assists in 23 minutes. He had a nice game against the Heat on Wednesday in 24 minutes, but coach Mike D'Antoni still isn't ready to unleash Hill for bigger minutes like he did back in early November. He's putting up enough value to keep him owned in most formats and the massive upside is just a bonus.
Beno rebounds to post 15-4-10 line vs. TOR 12-28-2013
Beno Udrih G MEM
Beno Udrih rebounded from a terrible night to score 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, 10 assists and four steals in the Knicks' 95-83 loss to the Raptors on Friday. Despite the big line Udrih is playing terrible basketball and that's going to carry with it his fair share of duds, but with the potential to go off like this on any given night and Raymond Felton's return a bit hazy he should be owned in most formats.
Ricky Rubio flirts with triple-double 12-28-2013
Ricky Rubio G MIN
Ricky Rubio flirted with a triple-double against the Wizards in a 120-98 victory on Friday with 11 points, eight boards, nine assists and three steals in 27 minutes. He shot 2-of-5 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line, so this is just want his owners wanted to see. Rubio's value bottomed out after Chris Paul shut him out and he should be able to string some good games together with some favorable matchups on the horizon. He will get the Bucks on Saturday.
Ekpe Udoh doesn't play vs. BK 12-28-2013
Ekpe Udoh C LAC
Ekpe Udoh did not play against the Nets on Friday. He looks to be out of the rotation with Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders back in the lineup. Udoh can essentially be cut across the board in fantasy leagues.
Metta World Peace (knee) plays five minutes 12-28-2013
Ron Artest F NY
Metta World Peace (knee) played five minutes on Friday against the Raptors. With the Knicks needing to travel up to Toronto for the equivalent of a one-game road trip we're going to keep him on the injury report until we get a confirmation that MWP will travel with the team. He has no real fantasy value at this time.
Corey Brewer scores 10 points in start 12-28-2013
Corey Brewer G MIN
Corey Brewer scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting with two assists and ons steal in 24 minutes. This was his first game in double-figure scoring since Dec. 11. He is having a weak December as the starter, scoring just 8.0 points on 30.8 percent shooting his outings before tonight int he month. Brewer isn't really worth owning in most formats based on his play lately.
Shumpert plyas 12 minutes on Friday 12-28-2013
Iman Shumpert G NY
Iman Shumpert (thigh) played 12 minutes on Friday against the Raptors, with just one rebound, one steal and two missed shots to show for his effort. We're going to keep him on the injury report until we get confirmation that he'll play in Toronto on Saturday. If he could ever get things together he could be an interesting play for a bad Knicks team, but it doesn't really look like he'll be able to do that.
Smith scores 17 points with big line vs. TOR 12-28-2013
J.R. Smith G NY
J.R. Smith scored 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting (including three treys) with seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in a whopping 43 minutes with Carmelo Anthony (ankle) out on Friday. Smith is going to be a workhorse while the Knicks are reeling from injury, and should be in all lineups until further notice.
J.J. Barea scores 17 off bench vs. Wizards 12-28-2013
Jose Juan Barea G MIN
J.J. Barea scored 17 points off the bench agains the Wizards in a 120-98 win, adding four assists and one 3-pointer on 8-of-10 shooting. He picked up a nice chunk of those points in garbage time, meaning this line comes with the ol' grain of salt. Although, Barea has been solid over his last five, averaging 11.4 points, 4.6 assists and 1.8 triples in 22.6 minutes. He's worth owning in deeper leagues.
Bargnani goes for 18 and 12 vs. Raptors 12-28-2013
Andrea Bargnani C NY
Andrea Bargnani scored 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting (including two threes) with 12 rebounds and two blocks in 37 minutes on Friday. Bargnani did his damage against his old Raptors teammates and after a 16-minute outing on Wednesday owners were plenty happy to see this result. Until the Knicks have anything resembling depth in their frontcourt, or they commit to playing Carmelo Anthony exclusively at the four spot, then owners should be willing to stick with Bargs through the ups and downs.
Hardaway scores 15 points with four treys 12-28-2013
Tim Hardaway Jr. G NY
Tim Hardaway scored 15 points off the bench on Friday with four treys, one assist, one steal and one block in 37 minutes. Hardaway hit 5-of-13 shots on the night and after a solid month of December it's time owners give him a look, even if consistency is likely to be an issue once Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton get back.
Stoudemire scores seven points on slow night 12-28-2013
Amar'e Stoudemire F NY
Amare Stoudemire scored just seven points on 2-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and three turnovers in 16 minutes on Friday. Stoudemire scored 22 points on Wednesday but this is more like it. He can be ignored in most formats.
John Wall scores 26 points in loss to Wolves 12-28-2013
John Wall G WAS
John Wall shot 11-of-20 from the field for 26 points during Friday's 120-98 blowout loss to the Wolves, while adding four rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes. He's really starting to heat up over his last five, shooting 50.6 percent from the field for averages of 22.2 points, 4.0 boards, 8.4 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 triples. Wall is having a breakout year and he should be able to put up top-end value regardless of Bradley Beal's (knee) status.
Martell Webster scores 11 points in 30 mins. 12-28-2013
Martell Webster G WAS
Martell Webster came off the bench against the Wolves on Friday with 11 points, three boards, one assist and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes. The Wizards lost Bradley Beal to a knee injury and his status is up in the air for Saturday's game and beyond. Webster would step into a starting role should Beal miss time, which has been an area he's excelled, averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 boards, 0.8 steals and 2.5 triples in 13 starts. He's worth owning in all leagues until Beal gets a clean bill of health.
Valanciunas explodes for 16 and 18 vs. NYK 12-28-2013
Jonas Valanciunas C TOR
Jonas Valanciunas scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting with a career-high 18 rebounds and one block over 36 minutes in Friday's win over the Knicks. The Knicks are no strangers to giving up big games underneath, though Tyson Chandler's recent return has been a small boost for them in that department. The question for Valanciunas all season has been whether or not Dwane Casey would embrace or reject him, and with lines like this it's possible JV will force his hand.
Kevin Seraphin did not play on Friday 12-28-2013
Kevin Seraphin F WAS
Kevin Seraphin did not play on Friday night at Minnesota. He was doubtful for his troublesome knee injury and has only played 9.6 minutes per game on the season. Seraphin has almost no fantasy value.
Nene plays well off bench on Friday 12-28-2013
Nene Hilario C WAS
Nene came off the bench again on Friday with 13 points and five boards in 22 minutes. The Wizards have been managing his minutes in his last three games and he's been good enough to perhaps get more minutes. In his last three, Nene averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 boards and 1.3 steals on 53.8 percent from the field. He's worth owning in standard leagues until he inevitably needs to miss time again.
Ross hits three triples against the Knicks 12-28-2013
Terrence Ross G TOR
Terrence Ross hit three 3-pointers in 23 minutes on Friday, and finished with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, two rebounds and that's it. Ross needs to hit about three treys per game to make up for his other fantasy deficiencies right now, as he has averaged 11.5 points, 2.0 threes, 3.2 boards and only 0.7 combined steals and blocks per game over his last six contests. That's good for 16-team value and that's about it.
Deron Williams looks fine in win 12-28-2013
Deron Williams G BKN
Deron Williams played 29 minutes in Friday's 104-93 win over the Bucks, scoring nine points, two boards, four assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer. He had a minor ankle tweak on Wednesday and looked to be 100 percent. Williams and the Nets needed this win in the worst way because it'll be tough sledding in their next three games against the Pacers, Spurs and Thunder.
Reggie Evans grabs 13 boards vs. Bucks 12-28-2013
Reggie Evans F SAC
Reggie Evans grabbed a game-high 13 boards against the Bucks on Friday with five points and one steal in 20 minutes. He's always been one of the best rebounders over the past decade, but he can't do much else. Evans might be the most inept offensive player in the NBA and won't do enough outside of rebounds for fantasy owners. He's not worth owning in standard leagues.
Shaun Livingston scores 20 points in start 12-28-2013
Shaun Livingston G GS
Shaun Livingston received his first start at shooting guard on Friday and had 20 points, five boards, six assists, one steal and one block on 6-of-11 shooting in 30 minutes. He had his best game of the season and took it to the weak backcourt of the Bucks. Livingston could stick in the starting lineup while Andray Blatche is out, so the minutes might be there for him. However, he doesn't shoot threes and hasn't really done much in the stat sheet to deserve a pickup in most leagues for now.
Salmons hits three treys off the bench 12-28-2013
John Salmons G NO
John Salmons hit three triples off the bench on Friday, scoring 11 points altogether on 4-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes. Salmons is worth a look in 12-team, 9-cat leagues where his 0.7 turnovers per game over the past two weeks has made him a top-125 play, but beyond that there isn't much upside for him right now. Just keep one eye on him to see if he can improve his 37.8 percent shooting over that same span.
Mirza Teletovic powers Nets with 19 points 12-28-2013
Mirza Teletovic F BKN
Mirza Teletovic was exceptional off the bench against the Bucks on Friday, scoring 19 points with six boards, two assists, one block and five 3-pointers in 31 minutes. He shot 7-of-13 from the field and attempted nine shots from beyond the arc. Teletovic will be a big part of the Nets rotation for the rest of the season, especially over the next four with Andray Blatche (personal) out for the next four games. He had an ice pack on his shoulder tonight, but did come back after whatever was bothering him. He's worth owning in all standard leagues.
