Ty Lawson arrested for harassment Saturday 08-19-2013
Ty Lawson G DEN
Ty Lawson is facing criminal charges of physical harassment and criminal mischief following an arrest on Saturday.

Denver Post
He was arrested by sheriff's deputies on investigation of harassment that includes either striking, shoving or kicking as well as property damage, court records state, according to the Denver Post. The Nuggets declined to comment per team policy. Lawson was arrested for a failure to appear in court back on January 29. The league could give him a penalty, but it's not likely to be enough to hurt his fantasy value.
Rockets nearing deal with Ronnie Brewer 08-19-2013
Ronnie Brewer G CHI
The Rockets are close to a deal with unrestricted free agent Ronnie Brewer.

Marc Stein on Twitter
The Rockets had a big summer with Dwight Howard coming to town, but they do lack some depth on the wing behind James Harden and Chandler Parsons. Brewer is capable of playing at a fast pace, so it's a nice fit for the team, as well. He's not worth drafting in any league.
Andrea Bargnani expected to meet with Doctors 08-19-2013
Andrea Bargnani C NY
Andrea Bargnani (pneumonia) is expected to meet with doctors on Tuesday.

Eurobasket
He could be out for all of Eurobasket and he's been battling this illness for over two weeks. Bargnani should be ready for training camp next month and perhaps the meeting on Tuesday with the doctors can shed some light on why he's missed so much time.
Andre Drummond working out with Sheed 08-19-2013
Andre Drummond F DET
Andre Drummond has been working out with Rasheed Wallace this summer.

Pistons.com
"We're going to start getting the ball in the paint a lot more for Greg [Monroe] and I, so [Wallace] said, `You need to work on your low-post game, because if I'm going to be giving you the ball, you need to be able to do something with it and not make me look like a fool,'" Drummond said. The 19-year-old big man is expected to try and work on a go-to move or two this offseason. He has huge potential and could become one of the most dominant centers in the NBA in just a few seasons.
Thomas Robinson feels wanted in Portland 08-19-2013
Thomas Robinson F POR
Thomas Robinson said he feels "wanted" with his new team in Portland.

KU Sports
"I feel wanted there, which is a good thing," Robinson said. "They are young, especially with the main core guys, so I will try to go in there, find a spot to help the team." He looked like a new player in summer league and brought a ton of energy. He looked unstoppable in transition and showed great instincts on the glass. T-Rob still has a long way to around his career and he'll start the year as LaMarcus Aldridge's backup.
Darren Collison wants to win now with LAC 08-19-2013
Darren Collison G SAC
Darren Collison said he "wants to be on a championship team" and will play in any role the Clippers choose.

NBA.com
"I felt like playing with the Clippers was an opportunity to win now," Collison said. "I couldn't care less how old I am or how young I am, I want to win now. Regardless, if I come off the bench or however many minutes they want to play me, I want to be on a championship team." He signed a two-year deal with the second year being a player option last month and will be on the second unit. Collison was one of the league's best backup point guards behind Chris Paul back in 2009-10, but his career has been a mild disappointment since. He's unlikely to match his 29.3 minutes per game from last season.
Ivan Johnson gives a two-week deadline 08-19-2013
Ivan Johnson F DAL
Ivan Johnson has given teams a two-week deadline to come up with a reasonable offer on a contract.

CSN NW
If he doesn't get a deal, he could be headed overseas. It sounds like a reasonable offer may not be a minimum deal for the unrestricted free agent, but considering how most teams have either their cap space or roster close to capacity, that might be all he can get.
Kobe Bryant running on anti-gravity treadmill 08-19-2013
Kobe Bryant G LAL
Kobe Bryant (Achilles) ran on an anti-gravity treadmill at a Lakers training facility on Monday.

Instagram
He said he was unsure about playing in the opener back on August 16, but actions have almost always spoke louder than words for the Black Mamba. Bryant appears to be ahead of schedule on his Achilles rehab and there really has been no negative news along the way. He'll turn 35 years old on Friday and should be considered questionable to start the season.
Luigi Datome sprains his foot on Monday 08-19-2013
Luigi Datome G DET
Luigi Datome suffered a foot sprain of Monday's game against Poland.

Sportando
He will have an X-ray to check for a break. Datome could crack the Pistons rotation as a rookie and beat writers have him as Josh Smith's backup at small forward. The Italian shot over 40 percent from downtown in his last three years in the Italian league and has a fairly well-rounded game on offense. He's on the radar in very deep leagues.
Calderon wants to get the ball to Nowitzki 08-19-2013
Jose Calderon G NY
Jose Calderon said he just wants to get the ball to Dirk Nowitzki in the right spots.

NBA.com
"More than anything it's just get the ball to [Nowitzki] in the right spots -- the right spot at the right moment," Calderon said. "It's the same thing with Monta [Ellis] or [Samuel] Dalembert." Calderon has always been a pass-first point guard while taking care of the ball, ranking second in assists-to-turnover ratio last season. He should be among the league leaders in assists and has value in the middle of fantasy drafts. What's more, Dallas' glaring weakness on defense may have them run a faster tempo on offense.
Dwyane Wade rehires trainer Tim Grover 08-19-2013
Dwyane Wade G MIA
Dwyane Wade (knee) has rehired trainer Tim Grover and will work with him for six weeks leading up to training camp.

ESPN.com
It's been an offseason full of news for Wade with his prior development involving shock treatment to both of his knees. Pat Riley has challenged Wade to drop some weight and "reinvent" himself this summer, so the hiring of Grover suggests that the 31-year-old guard is up to the task. Grover was brought on by Wade during the playoffs to help him with his knee problems, as well. Wade also hasn't ruled out opting out of his contract next summer, which makes this an important year for the three-time NBA champ. He may slide in fantasy drafts because of possible rest in the second half of the season.
Victor Faverani still in running to start 08-19-2013
Vitor Faverani C BOS
Victor Faverani is also a candidate to start at center for the Celtics.

ESPN Boston
The consensus is that Kelly Olynyk is going to get the starting nod, but Kris Humphries is also a possibility and may get the start on opening night. None of these three players are true centers and they all really project more as power forwards, so coach Brad Stevens will have to get a bit creative in his offensive and defensive schemes. Olynyk offers the highest upside in fantasy because he shoots the three and had a nice summer league, so he should come off the board first in fantasy leagues.
Brown expecting special coverage for MCW 08-19-2013
Michael Carter-Williams G PHI
Sixers head coach said that Michael Carter-Williams is going to have to expect how teams will guard him.

CSN Philly
"There are lots of things that Michael is going to have to expect on how people are guarding him and to counter it he's going to have to get better," Brown said. "Look at the history of Russell Westbrook. Look at the history of Derrick Rose. Those guys learned to take their speed and space and still be great. It's not a matter of rising up and hitting threes. You have to use your environment wisely." The knock on MCW is that he can't shoot, making just 39.3 percent from the field at Syracuse and only 27.1 percent of his shots in his five summer league games last month. He has plenty of opportunity, but his sub-par scoring will make it tough for him to make plays.
Raymond Felton 'loves' Beno Udrih 08-19-2013
Beno Udrih G MEM
Raymond Felton said he loves Beno Udrih on Sunday.

NY Post
"I love Beno," Felton said. "I think Beno is one of the most underrated point guards in this league. He's going to help us tremendously, without a doubt." The Knicks did a nice job replacing Jason Kidd with Beno and their three-deep depth at point guard with Pablo Prigioni is a bit of a luxury. Udrih is unlikely to have much fantasy value while Felton is healthy.
Andrei Kirilenko in Brooklyn for meeting 08-19-2013
Andrei Kirilenko F BKN
Andrei Kirilenko was in Brooklyn on Sunday to talk to Russian college players.

Nets Daily
Most of his teammates are heading to California for Deron Williams' players-only workouts, but Kirilenko is not expected to attend. He's going to come off the bench for the Nets in what looks to be the league's most talented second unit.
