|Jazz may seek PG via trades, free agency||06-22-2013|
|Tyrone Corbin F Det|
The Jazz aren't relying on the draft to find a starting point guard for the 2013-14 season.
Salt Lake Tribune
|The Jazz have worked out Dennis Schroeder, C.J. McCollum and Michael Carter-Williams, among other prospects, but it's a stretch to think they'll find a starting-caliber rookie PG with the No. 14 pick. "If it don't happen in the draft you've got the free agency to look at," said Tyrone Corbin. "And then there could be trade situations, too." At the moment, Utah doesn't have a single PG under contract.|
|Brian Shaw and Clippers talked contract||06-22-2013|
|Brian Shaw G LAL|
Updating a previous item, the Clippers and Brian Shaw talked about a contract on Wednesday.
Brad Turner on Twitter
|This is contrary to ESPN's report earlier today about Shaw and the Clippers not at this point. Shaw has been long overdue for a chance to be a head coach, but the Nets hiring of Jason Kidd may have turned this coaching carousel into a game of musical chairs.|
|Clippers and Byron Scott talking contract||06-22-2013|
|Byron Scott G LAL|
The Clippers and Byron Scott initiated talks about financial parameters of a contract Friday night.
Chris Broussard on Twitter
|The Clippers have yet to take that step with Lionel Hollins and Brian Shaw, so this report suggests that Scott is surprisingly ahead of the other two. Of course, the Clippers and Celtics trade talk isn't going away and the Clippers are believed to be waiting on a definitive answer on Doc Rivers.|
|Chandler Parsons recruiting Dwight Howard||06-22-2013|
|Chandler Parsons F DAL|
Chandler Parsons is text messaging Dwight Howard "every day" in an attempt to recruit him for the Rockets.
|"I talk to Dwight every day," Parsons said. "I've created a relationship with him, where I feel like we're very close. He hits me up about everything. I've covered pretty much every question he's had." The Rockets have one of the best GMs in the NBA, but getting a little help from Parsons probably doesn't hurt. The Howard rumors are going to be coming in from all angles this summer and Houston does have a real chance to get him this summer.|
|Dwyane Wade had knee drained before Game 7||06-22-2013|
|Dwyane Wade G MIA|
Dwyane Wade had his left knee drained before Game 7 and needed platelet-rich plasma treatment to his right knee before the playoffs.
Brian Windhorst on Twitter
|This may have something to do with why he was so giddy after winning his third NBA title. Wade was outstanding in Game 7 and showed no signs of a player that had his knee drained. After the game, he added that he's hoping to avoid surgery on his knees and rest will be a big part of his offseason plan. Even though he led all shooting guards with his 52.1 percent from the field, he'll be a risky player to take very early in drafts next year.|
|Andrew Bogut's ankle is recovering||06-22-2013|
|Andrew Bogut C GS|
Andrew Bogut's ankle appears to be recovering "fine" and the Warriors will send a trainer to Australia to examine him.
Contra Costa Times
|Bogut's ankle may never be fully healthy again, but the hope is that he'll come to camp in good shape and ready for a full season of action. Bogut appeared in just 32 games last season and will continue to be a big injury risk until he proves he can make it through a full season again. Don't hold your breath.|
|Raptors could buy a draft pick on Thursday||06-22-2013|
|Kyle Lowry G TOR|
The Raptors could look to buy a draft pick for Thursday's draft.
Marc Stein on Twitter
|They will do "no worse than a second-round pick," so it's not going to be an identity-changing move. The Raptors have their work cut out for themselves, especially with last year's first-round pick, Terrence Ross, not really improving throughout the season. There will likely be rumors of Andrea Bargnani being traded on draft day, as well.|
|Chris Paul unhappy with Clippers again||06-22-2013|
|Chris Paul G LAC|
Chris Paul has pushed for the Clippers to acquire Doc Rivers and is "unhappy," according to Yahoo! Sports.
|The Celtics and Doc Rivers should have an answer on Monday, so that could sway the Clippers to pursue Rivers more aggressively. Paul is a free agent and is expected to re-sign with the Clippers, but even if they aren't able to get Rivers, Lionel Hollins or Brian Shaw should keep him happy enough to stay.|
|Report: Rondo, Rivers nearly fought||06-22-2013|
|Rajon Rondo G DAL|
Rajon Rondo and Doc Rivers reportedly nearly got into a fist fight when Rondo dropped an F-bomb in a team meeting at some point in the past, according to a report from Sheridanhoops.com.
|We don't know when or where it happened, but it could be another piece to the puzzle that suggests that Rivers no longer wants to coach the Celtics. It also might not have been a big deal and something that just happened in the heat of the moment. In any case, Rivers will meet with Danny Ainge this weekend, while the Clippers continue to try to find a way to land the coach. We should know more about his future soon.|
|Shawn Marion could be dealt to Pelicans||06-22-2013|
|Shawn Marion F CLE|
The Pelicans could acquire the 13th pick and Shawn Marion from the Mavs during the draft.
Fletcher Mackel on Twitter
|Mavs owner Mark Cuban shot down any trade rumors of Marion, but that won't stop the rumors from flying around. The Pelicans could select Giannis Adetokunbo from Greece since Dell Demps has expressed interest in the forward. As for Marion, despite his career being on the decline, he turned in a solid season with the Mavs in 2012-13.|
|Rockets, Mavericks in game for Dwight||06-22-2013|
|Dwight Howard C HOU|
Marc Stein said in a radio interview recently that the Rockets and Mavericks are both in play to acquire free agent Dwight Howard.
Dallas Morning News
|Stein says the Rockets are ahead of the Mavericks in terms of being able to persuade Howard, but that a face to face meeting with Mark Cuban could change things. Other reports suggest that Howard will stick with the Lakers. The 'summer of Dwight' is just getting started.|
|DeAndre Jordan trade talks dying down||06-22-2013|
|DeAndre Jordan C LAC|
The trade involving the Celtics and Clippers for DeAndre Jordan has become a second priority for the two teams.
|The Clippers have shifted their focus to just getting Doc Rivers and seem unlikely to give up more than a first-round pick. The Celtics have been reportedly trying to get Eric Bledsoe, but since he remains one of the best backups in the NBA, the Clippers are justifiably unwilling to acquiesce. Jordan doesn't really create his own shot and isn't much of a stand-alone asset.|
|KG to Clippers talks are 'probably' dead||06-22-2013|
|Kevin Garnett F MIN|
The discussions between the Celtics and Clippers for Kevin Garnett are "probably" dead.
|It's not a big surprise. Garnett has really just been a throw-in player for the Clippers to get Doc Rivers. The 37-year-old forward has 17 years experience and it's possible that he could look to join a contender instead of a rebuilding Boston team. He had a solid year last season, but his age could make him slide in fantasy drafts.|
