Pedro Beato P BAL
Red Sox optioned RHP Pedro Beato to Triple-A Pawtucket. Beato's latest stint with the Sox only lasted a day, as he tossed a scoreless inning in Tuesday's win over the Rockies. He's unscored upon in three appearances with Boston this season and should get another shot later this summer.
Hunter gets three hits, scores twice in loss 06-25-2013
Torii Hunter RF MIN
Torii Hunter went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the loss to the Angels on Tuesday. Hunter is somewhat of a forgotten man in the Tigers lineup, but the outfielder is hitting .305/.351/.411 with 42 runs scored this season. And he's been on a tear of late, hitting 14-for-34 (.412) since June 16.
Hamilton scores three runs in win over Tigers 06-25-2013
Josh Hamilton LF TEX
Josh Hamilton went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in the Angels' win over the Tigers on Tuesday. Hamilton made his first start since last Thursday due to tendinitis in his right wrist and responded well, connecting for singles in his first three at-bats of the night. Hamilton also took a walk, the first time he's taken a free pass since June 14. It was the first game in which he's scored three runs this season, and despite his struggles he's managed to score 39 on the year.
Porcello rocked again, takes loss to Angels 06-25-2013
Rick Porcello P BOS
Rick Porcello took the loss on Tuesday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings against the Angels. Just when it seemed Porcello had turned the page, he's now turned in two bad starts in a row his last two times out. Porcello was especially bad on Tuesday, as he gave up 10 hits and walked two while striking out two as well. It's hard to know what to make of the right-hander at this point, so it's best to bench him in mixed leagues until further notice. He'll start against the Rays in Tampa on Sunday.
Wilson wins despite subpar start vs. Tigers 06-25-2013
C.J. Wilson P LAA
C.J. Wilson allowed five runs in five innings but picked up the win against the Tigers on Tuesday. Wilson just had to be better than his opposing starter on Tuesday, as the teams combined for 22 runs on 26 hits. The left-hander allowed seven hits and two walks, striking out four. Still, the win was his third straight and moved him to 7-5 with a 3.88 ERA on the year. He'll have a good shot at a fourth consecutive Sunday when he takes on the Astros in Houston.
Craig homers and drives in three as Cards win 06-25-2013
Allen Craig RF BOS
Allen Craig went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI as the Cardinals beat the Astros 13-5 on Tuesday. The Cardinals now have a +114 run differential -- by far the best mark in the major leagues. Craig singled in the second, fourth and sixth innings, then launched a two-run bomb deep into the Houston sky in the top of the eighth. "The Wrench" has gone deep only seven times this season but he is on pace for a whopping 128 RBI.
Wallace hits two-run triple in return to HOU 06-25-2013
Brett Wallace 3B SD
Brett Wallace hit a two-run triple Tuesday in his return to the Astros' starting lineup. It was Wallace's first start since April. The triple was his only hit, but it came with two runners on. Wallace was on a roll this month at Triple-A Oklahoma City and may carry some value in NL-only fantasy leagues.
Westbrook yields four runs over six in win 06-25-2013
Jake Westbrook P STL
Jake Westbrook yielded four earned runs over six innings Tuesday but the Cardinals beat the Astros. Westbrook was actually pretty dominant in the early going, even carrying a no-hitter into the bottom of the sixth inning. He will lug a 4-2 record, 2.21 ERA and 1.35 WHIP into his next outing against the Angels in Anaheim.
Moore gets 10th win, Rays top Blue Jays 5-1 06-25-2013
Matt Moore P SF
Matt Moore allowed one run in six innings to get his 10th win, and the Rays beat the Blue Jays 5-1 on Tuesday. After a long period between wins, Moore has now won two straight and is 10-3 on the year. The lefty was up and down on Tuesday, as he allowed just four hits but served up six walks while striking out 11. Walks have been an issue for Moore, as he's now walked 48 in 86 2/3 innings this year. On the plus side, he's also struck out 83 in those same 86 2/3 innings. His next start is user-friendly, as he takes on the Astros in Houston on Monday.
Harrell allows seven runs in loss to Cards 06-25-2013
Lucas Harrell P TEX
Lucas Harrell was hammered for seven runs over 3 1/3 innings Tuesday as the Astros fell to the Cardinals. Harrell started the evening with three scoreless frames, but it all fell apart for him in the Cardinals' seven-run fourth. The right-hander now has a 5-7 record, 4.84 ERA and 1.59 WHIP. He is not fantasy-relevant.
Buehrle unspectacular, takes loss versus Rays 06-25-2013
Mark Buehrle P TOR
Mark Buehrle allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings to take the loss against the Rays on Tuesday. Buehrle actually allowed 13 baserunners on the evening, as he walked four and hit a batter to go with the eight hits allowed. The southpaw now owns a 4.73 ERA and 1.40 WHIP this season. He'll take the hill next in Boston when he takes on the Red Sox on Sunday.
Oblique strain sends Alfredo Figaro to DL 06-25-2013
Alfredo Figaro P TEX
Brewers placed RHP Alfredo Figaro on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 24, with a right oblique strain. Figaro evidently must have suffered the injury during Sunday's start. The ailment figures to sideline him through the All-Star break. Johnny Hellweg will take Figaro's spot in the rotation.
Alexei Ramirez smacks walkoff single vs. Mets 06-25-2013
Alexei Ramirez SS TB
Alexei Ramirez hit a walkoff RBI single Tuesday as the White Sox defeated the Mets by a score of 5-4. Chicago nearly blew the game in the top of the ninth inning but rallied to save that embarrassment in the bottom half of the frame. Jeff Keppinger singled, Gordon Beckham reached on an error and then Ramirez played the role of hero, driving Keppinger home. Ramirez is batting .277/.305/.342 in 74 games played this season.
Loney goes 3-for-5, steals base vs. Blue Jays 06-25-2013
James Loney 1B NYM
James Loney went 3-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Those waiting for Loney's production to fall off a cliff may be waiting a while, as the first baseman is now hitting .309/.365/.477 through 78 games. Loney has now hit in seven straight games, and the stolen base was his third of the season.
Reed earns win as White Sox rally vs. Mets 06-25-2013
Addison Reed P NYM
Addison Reed earned his third win of the season on Tuesday night as the White Sox defeated the Mets. Reed sort of set himself up for the victory, allowing an unearned run in the top of the ninth inning when Gordon Beckham and Conor Gillaspie collided in front of the mound while trying to track down what would have been a game-ending pop-up. Reed has a 3.09 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 38/9 K/BB ratio in 35 innings this season. His standing as the White Sox closer is secure.
Yunel Escobar has 3 hits, stolen base in win 06-25-2013
Yunel Escobar 3B LAA
Yunel Escobar went 3-for-5 with a stolen base and a run in the Rays' win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday. The three hits raised his average to .244, but of particular interest was the stolen base, his first this year. He later scored on a Kelly Johnson groundout. He had been hitless in his previous three games before Tuesday's outburst.
Sale strikes out 13 batters in a no-decision 06-25-2013
Chris Sale P BOS
Chris Sale allowed three earned runs over eight innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Mets. Sale was in line for his sixth victory of the season, but Addison Reed allowed an unearned run in the top of the ninth and the White Sox had to rally to win the game in the bottom half of that frame. Sale struck out 13 batters and yielded only four hits. He'll carry a 2.76 ERA and 0.96 WHIP into his next start against the Indians.
Wheeler allows four runs in second MLB start 06-25-2013
Zack Wheeler P NYM
Zack Wheeler allowed four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday as the Mets fell to the White Sox. But the White Sox didn't win it until the bottom of the ninth inning, so Wheeler escaped with a no-decision rather than a loss. It was his second major league start and he looked considerably shakier than he did in his impressive debut last week against the Braves. The 23-year-old right-hander will get the Nationals next.
Ichiro hits walk-off homer, Yanks top Rangers 06-25-2013
Ichiro Suzuki RF MIA
Ichiro Suzuki went 2-for-5 including a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth as the Yankees beat the Rangers 4-3 on Tuesday. His homer was one of four hit by the Yankees on the night, and he's now hitting .270/.308/.359 on the season. It's been a down year for Suzuki by his standards, but that's to be expected of a player who'll turn 40 later this year. He's not the hitter he once was, but he's still got a little left in the tank.
Gio Gonzalez picks up fourth win 06-25-2013
Gio Gonzalez P WAS
Gio Gonzalez held the Diamondbacks to two runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday's 7-5 win. Gonzalez had to sidestep a few landmines in this one, as the D'Backs picked up nine hits and a walk against the left-hander. He struck out four on the night. After a poor April that had his ERA sitting at 5.34, Gonzalez has managed to lower that mark all the way to 3.31. He'll try to keep it rolling this weekend at Citi Field.
Martin homers twice as Rangers fall to Yanks 06-25-2013
Leonys Martin CF SEA
Leonys Martin went 2-for-3 with two home runs in the Rangers' loss to the Yankees on Tuesday. It was a surprising power display from Martin, who had just three home runs on the season coming into the game. The 25-year-old scuffled out of the gate but is now hitting a respectable .289/.340/.457 in 66 games. He also seems to have won the favor of Rangers manager Ron Washington, as he's seen action in every game since June 11.
Trevor Cahill blasted again Tuesday 06-25-2013
Trevor Cahill P SD
Trevor Cahill's disastrous June continued Tuesday, as he yielded six runs on eight hits and two walks over five frames in a loss to the Nationals. Cahill allowed just one baserunner in the first two innings, but the Nats knocked him around for a walk, four hits and five runs in the third. He gave up another run on a sac fly in the fifth. After entering the month with a 2.88 ERA, Cahill's mark has ballooned to 4.29. He'll have a tough time bouncing back this weekend in Atlanta.
Kuroda strong in no-decision against Rangers 06-25-2013
Hiroki Kuroda P NYY
Hiroki Kuroda allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 6 2/3 innings of a no-decision against the Rangers on Tuesday. The ball was flying out of Yankee Stadium on Tuesday as the teams combined for six home runs, two served up by Kuroda. Still, he held the Rangers to five hits and a walk in his 6 2/3 innings while striking out six. He'll look for a better fate Sunday when he faces the Orioles in Baltimore.
Darvish gives up three homers in no-decision 06-25-2013
Yu Darvish P TEX
Yu Darvish allowed three runs -- on three solo home runs -- over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Tuesday. Darvish gave up seven hits and two walks in total, striking out six. The 26-year-old still hasn't won a start since May 16, but he still owns a 2.95 ERA and 1.00 WHIP on the year. Wins are fickle and largely out of a pitcher's control, so those will likely come back soon as well. He'll get his next chance on Sunday when he takes on the Reds.
Adam LaRoche smacks 11th homer 06-25-2013
Adam LaRoche DH CWS
Adam LaRoche went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks. LaRoche capped off the Nationals' five-run breakthrough against Trevor Cahill in the third inning with the one-out blast. The first baseman has followed a five-game hitless streak with a six-game hit streak. He's now gone deep 11 times this season.
Cishek saves 13th, Marlins topple Twins 4-2 06-25-2013
Steve Cishek P SEA
Steve Cishek earned his 13th save of the season in the Marlins' 4-2 win over the Twins on Tuesday. After a bumpy start to the year, Cishek has now notched eight consecutive saves without a blown save. He also hasn't allowed a run in that time, striking out 10 in 8 1/3 innings of work. The Marlins aren't likely to generate an abundance of save opportunities, but Cishek is a must-own at this point.
Ramon Ortiz moved to 60-day DL 06-25-2013
Ramon Ortiz P TOR
Blue Jays transferred RHP Ramon Ortiz from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for the return of Jose Reyes. Ortiz remains out indefinitely with inflammation in his pitching elbow.
Martin Prado goes deep versus Nationals 06-25-2013
Martin Prado 3B MIA
Martin Prado singled and ripped a solo homer in Tuesday's loss to the Nationals. The D'Backs pounded out 14 hits against the Nats but only managed to scrape out four runs. Prado has homered in two of his last five games but has been a big disappointment for fantasy owners this season, sporting just a .241/.292/.348 batting line.
Ozuna doubles, drives in two in win vs. Twins 06-25-2013
Marcell Ozuna LF MIA
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the Marlins' win over the Twins on Tuesday. Ozuna went through a bit of a cold streak in mid-June, but he's now 8-for-18 (.444) with three doubles and a home run in his last five games. The 22-year-old is now hitting .298, and he's found a defensive home in center field for the Marlins.
Munenori Kawasaki optioned to Triple-A 06-25-2013
Munenori Kawasaki 2B CHC
Blue Jays optioned INF Munenori Kawasaki to Triple-A Buffalo. He's clearing room for the arrival of Jose Reyes on Wednesday. Kawasaki was a clubhouse favorite and offered solid defense, but he batted only .225/.337/.325 for the Jays.
Chris Tillman posts ninth victory 06-25-2013
Chris Tillman P BAL
Chris Tillman won his ninth game Tuesday, holding the Indians to three runs over seven innings in the 6-3 victory. Tillman got off to a rough start, issuing four free passes over the first three frames, but he settled in after that and wound up allowing just four hits while striking out six. It's been rare where Tillman was dominant this season, but he's been awfully solid since late April, allowing more than three runs in just one of 13 outings. He'll carry a 3.72 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into this weekend's start at home against the Yankees.
Jose Fernandez goes 5 IP, 1 ER in no-decision 06-25-2013
Jose Fernandez P MIA
Jose Fernandez allowed just one run in five innings of a no-decision against the Twins on Tuesday. Fernandez worked around four hits and three walks to allow just one run, striking out three. The 20-year-old's ERA is now under three on the year, as he's 4-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 15 starts. The only thing keeping him from being talked about more is the fact that he plays on the worst team in baseball. He'll start again Monday against the Padres.
Justin Masterson falls apart late vs. Orioles 06-25-2013
Justin Masterson P BOS
Justin Masterson gave up six runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles. Masterson cruised through the first six frames, but the wheels suddenly came off in the seventh. The big right-hander allowed five of the first six batters of the inning to reach and served up a pair of homers to cough up the lead. Masterson will bring a 3.76 ERA and 1.21 WHIP into Chicago this weekend.
Correia turns in another good start in loss 06-25-2013
Kevin Correia P PHI
Kevin Correia allowed two runs in six innings but took a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday. The Twins were panned for signing Correia to a two-year, $10 million contract in the offseason, but to their credit the right-hander has delivered thus far. Correia's start on Tuesday was his fourth-straight quality start, giving up five hits and two walks while striking out two. He's now 6-5 with a 3.82 ERA in 15 starts. His next start will come Sunday against the Royals.
Alexi Casilla hits rare homer Tuesday 06-25-2013
Alexi Casilla 2B TB
Alexi Casilla belted a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Indians. The longball -- which was his first of the season -- came off of Justin Masterson during a decisive five-run seventh innings for the O's. It's just Casilla's 12th career homer in 1,847 plate appearances. He's batting just .216 for the season.

Justin Maxwell RF MIA
Justin Maxwell has been diagnosed with a mild concussion.

Jason Kipnis notches 10th homer 06-25-2013
Jason Kipnis 2B CLE
Jason Kipnis singled and launched a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles. Kipnis also drew a pair of walks, reaching base in all four plate appearances. Though the home run -- his 10th of the season -- was just his second in June, he's now batting .408 with 17 RBI this month. He's also on pace for 21 dingers and 36 steals.
Evan Gattis yet to resume baseball activities 06-25-2013
Evan Gattis DH HOU
Evan Gattis (oblique) has yet to resume baseball activities.
Despite this, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez is still hopeful that Gattis will be ready for activation not long after his two weeks are up. Gattis is eligible to return on July 3.
Felipe Paulino to resume rehab soon 06-25-2013
Felipe Paulino P BOS
Felipe Paulino (elbow, back) is hoping to resume his rehab assignment this weekend.
Paulino was pulled off his rehab assignment earlier this month due to lower back stiffness, but he threw a 65-pitch simulated game Tuesday with no issues. He made just one rehab start before the back malady and will need a few more outings before being an option to rejoin the Royals' rotation. "All my stuff is ready, all I need is to just compete," Paulino said. "I need to throw in some game situations and test my arm."
Everth Cabrera shooting for July 2 return 06-25-2013
Everth Cabrera SS SF
The Padres are hopeful that Everth Cabrera (hamstring) can be activated from the disabled list on July 2, the first day he's eligible.
Cabrera has been taking batting practice with no issues and this weekend is expected to start running the bases and fielding. The Padres haven't decided whether he'll need a rehab assignment before returning. "He's doing much better," manager Bud Black said. "He's going to travel with us out east and get on the field, doing running, fielding. We'll see what happens Friday and Saturday and go from there."
Henderson Alvarez to start at Double-A Friday 06-25-2013
Henderson Alvarez P OAK
Henderson Alvarez (shoulder) will make his next rehab start at Double-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Miami Herald
Alvarez will throw 80-85 pitches in what will likely be his final rehab outing before being activated. The sinkerballer tossed 6  2/3 scoreless innings Sunday for Jacksonville and holds a 1.62 ERA over three rehab starts. If the Marlins don't trade Ricky Nolasco beforehand, Tom Koehler will likely lose his rotation spot when Alvarez joins the rotation.
Justin Ruggiano scratched from lineup 06-25-2013
Justin Ruggiano RF NYM
Justin Ruggiano was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a sore left shoulder.

Miami Herald
Ruggiano suffered the injury while diving for a ball over the weekend. Marlins manager Mike Redmond isn't sure how long the outfielder will be sidelined. "We'll see if it's a short-term deal, long-term deal or what," said Redmond. "We'll just have to play it by ear."

Brandon Beachy P LAD

Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Beachy played catch Tuesday for the second time in three days. He had been slated to return to the bump by Wednesday, but that timetable has been pushed back a couple days. The Astros should update his status shortly.

Cubs reluctant to trade James Russell 06-25-2013
James Russell P PHI
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that teams have asked the Cubs about James Russell, but they are not inclined to trade him.

Jon Heyman on Twitter
They would surely consider it if they're blown away by an offer. However, they're in no rush to deal Russell, who holds a 2.22 ERA and 1.06 WHIP and is still relatively cheap with a $1.08 million salary in his first year of arbitration.
Joe Kelly won't start until July 6 06-25-2013
Joe Kelly P BOS
The Cardinals will skip Joe Kelly's next turn in the rotation.
Manager Mike Matheny named Kelly the team's new No. 5 starter over the weekend, but with three off days over the next couple weeks, he won't be needed until July 6. Kelly will be available in relief over the next week or so while he waits for his start. "We're going to skip Joe Kelly in the rotation this first time through," Matheny said. "Everybody will still get one day's extra rest, so it's going to be normal for them. They won't know the difference."

Mike Adams (shoulder) likely out for season 06-25-2013
Mike Adams P LAD
Mike Adams' season is likely over after he was diagnosed with two tears in his right labrum and one in his rotator cuff.

Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News
Yikes. Adams is still contemplating whether to address the injury through rehab or surgery, but, either way, he's not expected back this season. "It's not going to heal," Adams said. "Maybe I can do some stuff to get the other muscles to take over and strengthen and hold everything else intact." The reliever tore his labrum back in 2008 and had that surgically-repaired. Ultimately, he seems likely to go under the knife again. Adams is under contract for $7 million next season and has a $6 million club option for 2015 that vests with 60 innings pitched in 2014.

"It's been tough. He's battling some things. He's gotten progressively better, but it's a little slower than I hoped. It's been a challenge for him, conditioning, all year because of some of the things that have kept him from it. So I hope he's using that time. We'll see if he is using it."
Wei-Yin Chen to begin rehab assignment 06-25-2013
Wei-Yin Chen P MIA

Dylan Bundy headed to see Dr. Andrews 06-25-2013
Dylan Bundy P BAL
Dylan Bundy (elbow) is headed to see Dr. James Andrews after being examined by Dr. John Wilckens on Tuesday.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter wouldn't offer what Tuesday's diagnosis was other than to say "there's some potential for some good things and some potential for some things we'll have to continue to work at." The young right-hander was originally diagnosed with tightness in his right flexor mass, though it's not clear after Monday's setback if he might be dealing with something more serious.

Ivan Nova P PIT
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Ivan Nova could receive another start.
Nova struck out seven while allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings in a spot start versus the Rays Sunday. He'll be unavailable through Thursday but could be used in relief after that or get another start. "It's possible he could get another start here at some point," Girardi said. "I'm not taking anyone out of the rotation, but we're in a long stretch here of 20 games, so it's possible we might put him in there just to give the guys an extra day that way."

Chad Gaudin P LAD
Chad Gaudin (elbow) said Tuesday that he expects to be activated from the disabled list on July 6, the first day he's eligible.

Alex Pavlovic on Twitter
Gaudin reported big improvement with his right elbow contusion on Tuesday. With the way the Giants' schedule works out, the righty might only have to miss one turn through the rotation. Mike Kickham is starting in his place Tuesday.
Carl Crawford expected back before AS break 06-25-2013
Carl Crawford LF LAD
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that he expects Carl Crawford (hamstring) to return prior to the All-Star break.

Dylan Hernandez on Twitter

Dan Haren P CHC
Nationals placed RHP Dan Haren on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 23, with right shoulder inflammation. Haren told reporters that he felt he could pitch through his shoulder issue, but the Nationals would prefer that the struggling right-hander get some time off. Signed to a one-year, $13 million contract over the winter, Haren has an ugly 6.15 ERA through 15 starts this season. Tyler Moore will take his spot on the roster for now, though the Nationals are reportedly considering calling up Taylor Jordan to fill his rotation spot.
Happ (head, knee) throws batting practice 06-25-2013
J.A. Happ P TOR
J.A. Happ (head, knee) threw batting practice Monday.
Happ was hit in the head by a line drive in early May, but a right knee sprain is what is keeping him out of game action. "Happ's feeling better," said Blue Jays general manager Anthopoulos. He's a little achy when he wakes up. But the fact he's throwing live BP is a great sign." Look for him to rejoin Toronto's rotation around the All-Star break.

Brett Lawrie 2B CWS
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Monday that Brett Lawrie (ankle) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday with High-A Dunedin.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Monday that Lawrie was likely a couple of weeks away from a rehab stint, but apparently there was some miscommunication. "Brett Lawrie will be here (in Buffalo) at some point," said Anthopoulos. "He's going to start his rehab assignment on Wednesday in Florida and when he's ready we'll have him get some at bats here; I don't know when." It suddenly sounds like a return around the beginning of July is possible.

Johnson strikes out two in non-save situation 06-25-2013
Jim Johnson P ATL
Jim Johnson struck out two while tossing a scoreless frame in a non-save situation Monday against the Indians. Outside of a series of implosions in mid-May, Johnson has been spectacular in 2013. He's allowed only one run since May 26, which has deflated his ERA from 5.25 to 3.72. Expect that earned run average to continue to drop.

One of the league's premier relief arms, Jansen owns a 2.37 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and retina-exploding 56/6 K/BB ratio over 38 innings.

Hyun-Jin Ryu P LAD
Hyun-Jin Ryu cuffed the Giants to one run over 6 2/3 innings in the Dodgers' 3-1 victory Monday. It wasn't the rookie's best start, as he allowed eight hits and four walks, and struck out just two, in the no-decision. Still, the Korean import continues to roll, and has not allowed more than three runs in a start since early-May. Already a must-start fantasy hurler, Ryu boasts a 2.85 ERA and 81/31 K/BB ratio in 98 innings.

Yasiel Puig RF LAD
Yasiel Puig refused to cool off Monday night against the Dodgers, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 3-1 victory. The rookie sensation was 1-for-7 in his last two games and must have decided it was high time to once again shoulder the burden of carrying Los Angeles' offense. Puig's solo shot in the first inning gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead and his RBI single in the eighth broke a 1-1 tie. He's batting an insane .442/.476/.753 with seven homers and 14 RBI over 77 at-bats.

Kyle Blanks 1B TEX
Kyle Blanks played the role of hero Monday night, knocking in three runs in the last two innings and scoring the game-tying run in a wild 4-3, 10-frame victory against the Phillies. Blanks finished 4-for-5, raising his batting average (.285) 16 points in the process. San Diego's offense was more quiet than Teller prior to Blanks' two-run single off Jonathan Papelbon in the ninth inning, which cut Philly's lead to 3-2. Blanks later scored on Carlos Ruiz' passed ball. The big man singled in the 10th with the bases loaded to send San Diego to another come-from-behind-victory.
Stults hurls seven innings of two-run ball 06-25-2013
Eric Stults P LAD
Eric Stults hurled seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision Monday against the Phillies. Stults was on the hook for a loss before San Diego rallied in the ninth inning. He gave up seven hits and no walks, striking out four. Since going 2-2 with a 5.67 ERA in April, Stults has been nothing less than one of the league's best starters. He posted a 2.66 ERA in May and has allowed two runs or less in all five of his June starts. The southpaw doesn't have much in the way of raw stuff, but he's worth trotting out in mixed leagues until the clock strikes midnight, whenever that might be.

John Mayberry Jr. LF CWS

Mayberry, who has been getting more time off recently, hadn't registered a hit in more than a week prior to the game. Papelbon blows 3rd consecutive save vs. Pads 06-25-2013
Jonathan Papelbon P WAS
Jonathan Papelbon blew his third consecutive save Monday against the Padres. Paps has now blown four saves in his last five appearances. Called on in the ninth inning of a 3-0 game with two runners on, Papelbon allowed a single and hit a batter before he coaxed Yasmani Grandal into a double play. A Carlos Ruiz passed ball allowed Kyle Blanks to score, sending the game into extra innings. Papelbon's recent struggles aside, his job is completely safe, as he still owns a 2.12 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.
Lee stuck with a tough-luck no-decision 06-25-2013
Cliff Lee P PHI
Cliff Lee held the Padres to two runs over eight innings, but was stuck with a tough-luck no-decision in San Diego's 4-3, 10-inning win. He struck out seven and walked one. Lee was absolutely dealing through eight shutout innings. He entered the ninth with a 3-0 lead and promptly surrendered hits to the first two batters he faced. Jonathan Papelbon allowed both inherited runners to score, sullying Lee's line. The left-hander remains 9-2 to go with a 2.51 ERA.
