Ross Detwiler P WAS
Ross Detwiler was shelled for seven earned runs over 3 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Rockies. Detwiler got off to an exciting start this season, but he suffered an oblique injury in mid-May and has been unreliable in his three outings since returning from the disabled list. The left-hander will face the light-hitting Mets next time out but probably shouldn't be trusted right now in most standard fantasy leagues.

Diamondbacks manger Kirk Gibson said Sunday that Heath Bell remains the team's closer for now.

Jack Magruder on Twitter
It was a half-hearted endorsement, as Gibson also didn't dismiss the possibility of David Hernandez or Brad Ziegler being used in a save situation Sunday. With J.J. Putz also due back soon, Bell, who has allowed a home run in each of his last five relief appearances, is on very shaky ground.

Dan Haren P LAD
The Nationals are expected to place Dan Haren on the disabled list.

Charlie Slowes on Twitter
Haren has maintained throughout his struggles that he's healthy, so the Nats might be creating a phantom injury in order to get him out of the rotation for a while. Then again, it's possible his back is giving him trouble again. Haren was knocked around again Saturday and holds a 6.15 ERA through 15 starts. Ross Ohlendorf seems likely to replace him in the rotation.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Multiple upcoming off days could mean that Kelly won't get a start for a while, but when there's a need for a fifth starter, he'll get the ball. He's worth scooping up in deeper leagues.

Ike Davis 1B PIT
ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports that there's a "fair chance" Ike Davis is recalled after the Mets' upcoming series against the White Sox.

Adam Rubin on Twitter
That would put him in line for a return next weekend. The Mets surely planned to keep Ike at Triple-A Las Vegas longer, but Lucas Duda landing on the disabled list might speed up the timetable. It also certainly doesn't hurt that Davis recently had back-to-back two-homer games at Vegas. Overall, he's batted .310/.463/.690 across 12 games at Triple-A.

It's progressing the right way.''

Aaron Harang P ATL
Aaron Harang surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings as part of a no-decision victory against the A's on Saturday. He struck out three and walked two. Harang's peripherals (including a 59/11 K/BB rate and a much lower FIP than ERA) continue to indicate that improvement is coming, we aren't seeing it in actuality. While the veteran fly-ball pitcher is a nice fit for Safeco, even a cavernous park can't contain the projectiles opposing hitters often swat into orbit off one of Harang's slop offerings. On the plus side, he didn't allow a homer to Oakland.
