MoneyBallBlog.com: Bailey Wins AL Rookie of the Year
Athletics correspondent Josh Russell reviews Andrew Bailey's rookie campaign.

" Bailey received 13 first place votes and a total of 88 votes compared to Elvis Andrus of the Rangers (8 first place votes, 65 total) and Rick Porcello from the Tigers (7 first place votes, 64 total). "

Impact: Barring a sophomore slump, Andrew Bailey is definitely a name to remember in the later rounds come draft time. In just a little over 83 innings, Bailey racked up 26 saves, blowing just four, and had a stunning 91/24 K/BB ratio to go along with the lowest ERA among rookie pitchers (1.84).

RedbirdRoost.com: Yanks, Halos not players for Holliday?
Ryan Boyer, our Cardinals correspondent, delivers his opinion on Matt Holliday's free agency.

" That comment certainly doesn't mean the Angels won't go after Holliday, as it's not a surprise that their focus at the moment is to re-sign both Chone Figgins and John Lackey. If both Figgins and Lackey are brought back, or maybe just one of them, you could likely count out the Halos as suitors for Holliday. "

Impact: Last year, Holliday proved that he can hit away from Coors Field. Regardless of where he ends up, he will still be able to deliver his usual 25-30 home runs, 100+ RBI and .300+ batting average. Stay tuned to Boyer's blog, as he will be staying with this story and also be having the latest on Mark DeRosa's future.

JaysFan.com: Lind and Hill Get Silver Slugger Awards
Blue Jays correspondent Paul Bruno reviews and previews Adam Lind and Aaron Hill.

" That much was made clearer by the recognition afforded their Second Baseman (Hill) and primary Designated Hitter (Lind), who were recognized as the best American League Hitters at their respective positions. "

Impact: Adam Lind and Aaron Hill both went far beyond their expectations last season. Lind hit 35 homers, had 114 RBI, a .305 average and a .932 OPS. Hill had 36 home runs, 108 RBI and a .286 average. The only downside to these men is that Lind struck out over 100 times and Hill had 98 strikeouts.

Monkey WithAHalo.com: Halo Headlines
October's Blog of the Month Winner, Garrett Wilson, analyzes the Angels' busy offseason.

" And Big John might very well stomp on their hat and then throw it back out of the ring. Lackey isn't going to sign with a horrid franchise like Washington when he can get likely better money from teams with much better chances of competing every year."

Impact: As of right now, the Angels seem to be pursuing their own team's free agents over anyone else and this includes Chone Figgins and John Lackey. Lackey will earn the biggest contract of any starting pitcher this offseason and just turned 31. This year Figgins returned to his usual season totals after a down year in 2008.

SoxTeaParty.com: Hello, Green Monster. It's Uggla
Red Sox correspondent Darryl Johnston discusses the possibility of Dan Uggla arriving in Boston.

" It just sounds weird because he's a second baseman in the National League who would supposedly replace the Silver Slugging bat of Jason Bay. If Boston feels that they will be priced out of the Bay sweepstakes and won't be able to afford the Scott Boras-ransoms for Matt Holliday, then Uggla might be a fit. "

Impact: Dan Uggla would be an odd fit in Boston considering the mainstay they have at second base, but it's possible he could be used in left field. Regardless of what happens to him, he'll still be able to put up 30 homers, around 90 RBI and a mediocre batting average (.243 in '09).

BaseballBrew.com: Free Agent Pitching for the Brewers to Consider
Adam Burnett, our Brewers correspondent, breaks down all of the free agent pitching options for Milwaukee.

" Kelvim Escobar of the Angels and Justin Duchscherer of the A's are pitchers I would look to sign cheap. Escobar is a power pitcher with a bad shoulder while Duchsherer had shoulder problems and clinical depression to deal with last season. "

Impact: In his blog, Burnett names many pitchers, including John Lackey, Justin Duchscherer, Randy Wolf, Doug Davis, Rich Harden and Jason Marquis. Whoever may land in Milwaukee might have a problem with the much-publicized, newly hired pitching coach Rick Peterson. Peterson has had his own altercations with past flamethrowers (i.e. Scott Kazmir and Heath Bell) and comes from a Mets rotation that wasn't exactly brilliant last year. Stay tuned to Burnett's blog for those updates.
